The Viking (Gunther) has such interesting stories, and he paints such a vivid picture that sometimes Jac- Jazlee can see the people he describes, the places he tells her about.

And she sure- she's so, so sure- that he's intentionally trying to speak with her. It makes her wonder if he did see her that day, when she was so scared of losing him that she called upon a storm greater than any other because it was born out of fear rather than rage.

Maybe that's why she's not using the stronger concealment spells anymore, why she's slowly letting him get used to her so that the day she lets him see he won't fear coming face to face with the physical embodiment of temptation and death.

He never says any names, and she's glad. Names have power, and sirens have too much of that already.

But this this Viking (Gunther) has a touch of magic in his blood. She wonders if maybe it would be enough to counter the enchantment that will inevitably try to take a hold of him. But curiosity has already taken so much from her, and she can't bring herself to find out what would happen if she were to whisper his name with only the sky and sea as her witness. Or what would happen if he were to ever find out hers.

Yet it doesn't stop her from finally deciding to meet him face to face, after he starts telling her of a mother who morns for a daughter lost at sea.
