Chapter 22
Peter rushes into the classroom with Midoriya chasing after, but the American is too excited to slow down for him. He opens the door and exclaims, "What did I miss?! Has there been any updates?! I've been checking it out all morning but I haven't found anything new!"
The class present stare at him quizzically, aside from a teary eyed Mina and gloomy looking Kirishima, Sato, and Kaminari. "What're you talking about? Updates on what?" Shoji asks.
Peter looks almost offended, "What do you mean what?! The alien that just arrived on earth!"
"Alien? You mean that mud stain that was stuck to space shuttle? Come on!" Jiro rolls her eyes.
"Not just mud but organic mud! Living mud! From outer space thank you very much! Why is no one else as excited as I am!? This is the first contact with alien life earth has had in over 10 years!" He takes his seat and starts scrolling through his phone for any news about it, frustratingly though, he finds nothing new.
"I apologize in advance but I don't understand your excitement. This… sludge… isn't as noteworthy as the other life forms that's made contact with earth." Tokoyami says.
Toru tilts her body as she chimes in, "That's right I mean it's not as cool as the Guardians of the Galaxy, they had a walking, talking tree!"
"And a raccoon strangely enough." Ojiro adds, still confused by that matter.
"And again, we haven't gotten any sightings of them in a decade, aside from whatever normal communications they have with government officials and the hero commission. It's because of the Nova corps rules by way of their treaty with Earth that we don't see any aliens at all." Peter explains.
The students he was talking are evidently lost and he drops his face into his hand. Momo, decides to help out as she explained, "It was part of our history lessons. When the Kree and Skrull empires tried to take possession of earth for a tactical advantage in their war against each other, many of earths heroes worked alongside that Era's roster of the Guardians of the Galaxy to not only stave off their attacks, but eventually end the war. The Nova Corp, who're for all intents and purposes, an intergalactic police force, placed earth under their protection with the Guardians as their liaison between them. Many rules were placed in order to keep peaceful relations between worlds and species, one of them was that if any other lifeforms stowed away to earth and were captured, it would be deemed illegal to perform any type of studies, experiments or dissections on them. Whoever or whatever it is would have to be placed into protective custody by the Hero commission until they were recovered by whichever roster of the Guardians are available and if not, then a squadron of the Nova corp. The last time that had happened was, as Parker-kun said, a decade ago where a ex convict called Micheal Korvac had attacked Boston using Cosmic powers he had acquired after being illegally experimented on by a rogue sect of Kree radicals in a failed attempt to restart their war."
Peter gives her a grateful look as they students finally remember, if their 'oohs' and 'aaahs' are any indication. Peter looks at his phone and finally gets an update,
"Says here it's now being transferred to I-Island since it's the most secure and isolated facility. And now it's been announced that no further images will be released to the public. Dammit." He curses silently to himself.
"I guess it all worked out." Toru exclaims happily.
Confused, Peter asks, "What do you mean?"
"What do you mean what do I mean? I mean—"
"DON'T YOU GET IT MIDORIYA!? OR DID ALL MIGHT KNOCK ALL THE BRAINS OUTTA YOU?!" Kaminari shouts as he almost pokes Midoriya's eyes out if not for the green haired boys quick reflexes in dodging the unexpected assault.
"What's he so angry abou—oh right they failed." Peter wonders aloud, earning himself a glare from all of the failed students.
"Uh (gulp) Maybe I should've kept that to myself."
Thankfully he's saved by Aizawa's timely arrival, slamming the door open and scolding the students that scramble to their desks, "Once the bell rings you should be in your seats!"
By the time he finishes his sentence, everyone's where they should be, with their hands folded over the desk, Peter notes. Aizawa scowls at each and every student in his slow walk to the podium, relaxing his look once he places his folders onto the stand. "Morning. Unfortunately, there are a few of you who did not pass your final exams."
Said students all show varying reactions of despair, since they were very much looking forward to having fun at the summer camp. Peter does pity them. "So when it comes to the training camp in the woods…" The class hold their breath, wondering what the unpredictable teacher will conclude with.
His scowl turns into an offputting grin, "Everyone is going!"
"… HUUUUUUUUH?!"
"Why does he keep doing this! It's not good for my heart!" Peter exclaims, fanning himself dramatically, much to the ponytailed girl's amusement.
Mina and Kirishima yell happily, "IT'S A LAST MINUTE TWIST!"
"We really get to go to camp!?" The red haired teen asks, elated to not miss out.
"Seriously?!" Mina asks, her eyes once again watery but this time from relief and happiness.
"Yea. The good news is that no one bombed the written exam. Five failed the practical, badly. Two teams, of course, and then Sero failed as well." Aizawa answers.
Peter rubs his temples, "I still can't believe it. How did Mineta pass the practical!?"
"What can I say? I'm full of surprises." Is the smug reply.
Peter gives him the stink eye, "Oh you're full of it alright, but not surprises."
"If I can have your attention," The Homeroom teacher sternly demands, "Allow me to explain. For the practical battles, the teachers made sure to leave a way for the students to win. Otherwise, you never would've stood a chance."
"I'm not sure he was watching my practical that closely, cause I'm still half convinced us passing was just a hallucination from whatever coma All Might put me in." the brunette grumbles, getting ghost pains from the cracked skull he had, courtesy of the number one hero.
Ojiro raises his hand, "But didn't you promise that the teachers wouldn't be holding back?"
Aizawa nods, "That was just to get you on edge. Besides the training camp will focus on building your strength. Those who failed need those lessons the most. We were never going to separate you." His grin returns, "That was just a logical deception we used."
Peter crosses his arms, "I'm reeeeally starting to hate that tactic."
His mood is slightly improved thanks to Momo's comforting smile and kind words, despite iida's outburst that Peter will admit, is justified. The school day goes on as it normally does, lessons learned, bodies worked and soon enough the day was ending, the bell was rang marking the end of the school day. Before leaving Mr Aizawa did make sure to hand out brochures detailing the summer camp they'd be participating in.
"This is great! Looks like we'll be at the training camp a full week"! Iida reads.
"Only a week? Huh, science camp was normally 3 months long back at home." Peter says.
"Things work a little differently here, even the school year is longer than what you'd normally find in the American school system." The Vice class rep explains.
"True true, I forgot that, I guess I'm still not used to it. Well at least I know I can get rid of half my luggage then!"
Going off of Iida's conversation, Toru gets the class's attention. "Guy's, since we're off tomorrow and we've finally finished the exams, I've got the best idea!" her clothes float up to the air then drops, which Peter guesses means she did a little hop.
"Why doesn't Class 1A go shopping together!"
Many students instantly brighten up at the idea, "Hey yea, we've never hung out as a class before!" Kaminari points out.
"Bakugo, you're going too right?"
"I can't think of anything more annoying." "As if you bastard!"
Bakugo stops and glares at Peter, who scratches his neck sheepishly, "Sorry I was trying to guess what you would say back. Thought you were gonna scream, so color me shocked!"
The explosive teen simply grunts before continuing his leave, confusing Peter. "Huh, thought that'd get a reaction outta him. Gotta work on my material."
The students meet at the agreed upon Mall, the Kyashi Ward Shopping Mall, laughing and greeting each other, happy to finally spend time together casually and in a relaxing setting. "This is by far the biggest mall I've ever been to!"
"There's gotta be malls this size somewhere in New York right?" Ojiro asks.
Peter shrugs halfheartedly, "Most likely, but I could never afford much so I never bothered going myself. Still this place looks pretty cool. Good choice Mina!"
She grins widely as she begins gushing, "Thanks! I love this place so much! It's got a ton of different stores to shop at, and they're all super cool and hip!"
Peter notices Izuku mumbling beside him about all the things the mall carries such as designs for all body types and range of gears. Peter can see that Izuku is starting to get overwhelmed by the over stimulating environment and places a hand on his shoulder and gently shakes him, anchoring him back to earth. "Oh! I-I was getting c-carried away wasn't I?"
"Nah, you actually look excited!"
"Whoa!" someone in the crowd points at them, "Aren't those UA students?!"
"1A!"
"I saw 'em on TV!"
"The Sports Festival was so good!"
"hey who's that foreign looking guy with them?"
Peter doubles back, "Do they mean me?"
"You had your face covered with your mask remember? Not many people know who you are." Jiro points out.
Peter drops his shoulders, feeling a little disappointed. "Ah true. Eh either way I'm not one for attention so it's alright I guess."
Soon the students start listing off things they would like to acquire for the summer camp, getting more and more excited with each item announced. "What about you Parker?" Tokoyami asks.
"Oh, I'm not looking to buy anything, I already have everything I need, I just came for company really." He answers.
As said before, he has gone to summer camps before, the most recent one being a year before his spider bite. Thankfully he kept ahold of everything he used since they were all in good condition including a rather comfortable tent that was gifted to him by Uncle Ben.
Mina's ears perk, having heard Peter's answer and also heard Momo saying something along the same lines to Jiro. A ligthbulb goes off in her head and quickly grabs Jiro hand just as she tells Yaoyorozu what she's looking to buy. "Well since it's a duffel bag you need, I know the perfect place for you to go! Follow me, Toru let's go!"
"Wait what? Woo!" the earphone student is yanked rather harshly by the pink classmate.
Yaoyorozu reaches for them but is unable to say anything as they were already out of sight. It was then that she notices that Peter is in a similar boat as her, having been seemingly abandoned by their class. Leaving them alone. The two stand there awkwardly for a few moments, neither one sure of what to do since really they came to just hang out. Desperate to say something, anything, Peter decides to ask, "So, you shop in the mall often?"
He curses internally, really? That's what you're gonna ask? Of course she shops at the ma—
"Not often. Normally one of my helpers gives me a list of options and they go out and buy whatever my family needs, though I have made some rare excursions with a detailed party." She answers, with no hint of arrogance and superiority, Peter notes.
Huh, I stand corrected.
"And you Parker-Kun?"
"Not often, rarely do I have enough money to go full on shopping, most of my clothes I get from thrift shops and goodwills."
"What are those?"
"… Lesser known shopping centers."
"Hm."
"Cool part about this mall is they have so many arcades!"
Peter points at one just ahead of them and as going to say more until he noticed the curious smile the raven-haired beauty wore. "Wait… Have you ever been to an arcade?"
Jumping slightly in embarrassment, Momo's face burns and she suddenly finds the ground interesting as she replies shyly, "I-I've had m-moments where I'd pass by one, but… I've never been given the chance." She plays with the end of her hairs that frame one side of her face.
To say he's shocked is an understatement. Even Harry, who was another rich friend of Peter's, who'd ever thought I'd have more than one?, and also son of the man who's currently trying to experiment and possibly kill him, would visit the arcades with him and Gwen as well as spending an entire day in Coney Island, riding rickety roller coasters and eating less than stellar Pizza that only tasted good in his memory because of how great the day was. And yet… Momo hasn't experienced any of that. I know her dad is really strict but to the point that he wouldn't even let her have some fun? He gets a devious expression and Momo narrows her eyes, "What're you plan—Whoa Parker-kun!"
Peter gently grabs her hand and guides her to the arcade, "No one should ever have to go through life without having a little fun. Come on, don't tell me you aren't even a little curious on how fun this could be?"
She looks uncertain but looking at Peter's earnest smile and, is that a dimple? It's… cute, she decides to go for it. He pumps his fist into the air, "Yes! Come on!"
She looks in amazement at the lights and fun pictures and games that are displayed. People of all ages passing by or hopping on. Even an older couple happily play a game of Air hockey against one another, whooping as one or the other gets the puck to their goal. "Which one do you want to go on first?"
She's taken aback and points at herself, "M-Me?"
He chuckles, the sound making her heart race. "Yes you, come on it's your first time in an arcade ever, you get the honor of choosing our first game!"
"O-Ok. Um." She scans the area.
All this time she's thought of only going through the doors and seeing the environment for the first time, it never occurred to her that she also needed to figure out what to do afterwards. She begins to irrationally think that she's running out of time and randomly points at one machine. Peter follows where she's pointing and breaks out into a big grin. "Oh ho hooo! Very good choice!"
She follows him to the machine and reads the title overhead, "Dance Dance Revolution?"
"A classic! Also one I am particularly talented in playing… actually it's about the only one I'm good at."
"Really? You can dance?"
He snorts as he pops in a few coins to each of their respective placements. "You kidding? Aunt May had to have her feet dipped in ice for a week straight cause I stepped on her toes so much. She still won't let that go!"
She stands on the platform with uncertainty as she asks, "So what do we do?"
"It's simple, a song will play and an arrow will rise up to the beat of the song. Once it reaches it's place on the screen you have to tap that same arrow right on time. It sounds harder than it actually is."
"I'm not sure, I don't think I'll do any good."
He shakes his head, "It's not about winning or losing, it's about having fun! Sure winning makes it a little more enjoyable at least for me, mainly cause as I said before I'm terrible at everything else; but sometimes you have even more fun losing. Look it's gonna start!"
True to his word, the game starts as does the song, slowly at first with a single arrow coming up. Peter smiles assuringly at her and tells her when to stomp. She quickly moves her foot, hitting the pad right on time. "See you got this! Do it again!"
Another two arrows pop up this time and she gets them again. She begins giggling as the song speeds up and more and more directions come. She feels lighter than before, enjoying herself, happily dancing to the tune without care or worries, simply enjoying herself and her company in Peter who swears he's never seen her smile as freely as she is now. He decides to use his increased agility and dexterity by making a show of it, still hitting the pads but spinning wildly, his leg going over the rail behind them. Even doing split like James Brown, making Yaoyorozu laugh even harder. By the end of the song they ended up tying, given the fact that Peter's show caused him to miss enough points for momo to catch up.
The pair hop off the game and look for another to entertain themselves with. This time Momo insisted on Peter being the one to choose. Eventually he caves and challenges her to racing game. To his surprise, Momo seems to have a knack for it as she very quickly gains first place and does not lose it once, never hitting any of walls or other vehicles, meanwhile Peter's avatar comes in dead last as he did the complete opposite. Despite it, the two thoroughly enjoy themselves, spending much of their time bouncing from one end of the arcade to the other, eventually collecting enough tickets to buy themselves something at the desk. Momo was fascinated by all the choices.
"What're you going to get?"
Peter quickly points at the glass, cracking it slightly under his over eagerness. "That! A limited edition Voltron defender of the universe ring! Through my tireless research I've found that this particular brand is only made here in japan!"
"A toy ring?"
"It sounds ridiculous but it doesn't matter to me, it's been a hobby of mine to collect these bad boys since I was a kid! And I for one am not ashamed of continuing it!... Maybe if I reach 30 then it'll start to feel embarrassing." He mumbles.
There it is again, Peter somehow finds enjoyment in all the little things. Despite always being surrounded by the best her family's money and influence can get, her father in particular never seemed satisfied, always wanting more. Never seeing value in anything that seems well within his reach. He always strives for the unreachable and pushes her and even her mother to do the same. And yet for all that money can get one, there was something infinitely more gratifying in this almost nonsensical purchase.
After handing Peter the voltron ring, the clerk asks Momo with a bored tone, "And for you miss?"
"Um I'll take that eraser."
He sluggishly opens the glass and takes out a Super Sentai themed eraser and hands it to her, "Well congratulations sir, you are now the proud protector of the planet Arus and you Miss, can erase things. Enjoy."
Peter proudly wears the ring with a big smile and Momo stares at the eraser with the same level of happiness, despite it being so insignificant, it marks the first time since she can remember where she felt so free.
"So whatcha wanna do now?" Peter asks as they step out of arcade.
Momo was about to say something when she gasps and points at a nearby shop selling Kakigori. "I've always wanted to try these!"
Peter takes a closer look, "That looks like Italian Ice. Wonder if it tastes the same! Excuse me sir can you give me one melon flavored and which one do you want?"
She tries to deny Peter, "No no you don't have to buy me any—"
"I insist, it's my treat, plus you've never had one before why not give it a shot!"
She still tries to deny it but Peter insists until she finally gives in, choosing strawberry flavored Kakigori. Her eyes shine with enjoyment as the sweet treat brings all her taste buds to life. "This is wonderful!"
"I-heheheh-I can't believe you've never had this before."
She shrugs, taking another spoonful and groaning in ecstasy. "Every where I've gone has always had high end food and sweets which are fantastic in their own right but my family normally never chooses anything… beneath their expectations."
"How high can their expectations be for flavored shaved ice?"
She half shrugs, finding a nice bench they can sit that has the lightest amount of people near them, "My family, specifically my father, only wants the best in everything."
"Ah, sounds like someone I know." Peter grumbles, his mind going back to Norman Osborn. Even before the whole artificial quirk business, the man was very high end. Everything had to be the best to even have his attention. Unfortunately, Harry struggled to meet those expectations.
The two enjoy their treat in comfortable silence until their cups were empty. Momo sets hers to the side and beams at Peter. "Thank you, I truly had a wonderful time."
He returns it just as brightly, "Pleasure was all mine."
The two stare into each others eyes for the longest time. They didn't realize they were getting closer until their hands touched and their breaths were tickling each others faces. Just as they were going to lean in, a child spooked them pretending to shoot her toy gun at the blushing teens. Her mother appears and grabs ahold of her hand, "Calm down sweetie and stop bothering these people!" She looks at the pair apologetically. "I'm so sorry."
Peter clears his throat, trying to ignore the burning in his face. "It's-it's no problem."
She gives them a wave and drags her daughter with her, leaving the embarrassed teens behind. Neither one say a thing or look at each other, staring at their hands instead. They start to say something but interrupt each other,
"So-"
"So-"
"You fir—"
"You fir—"
Peter gestures for her to speak, "… Parker-kun… I think it's time we talked."
"Yea I think so too."
"… I-I don't know how to start."
He rubs his neck, "Yea me neither."
She awkwardly giggles, "I don't know why this is so hard."
"Right? I mean this should be easy, we talk."
"All the time."
"It's easy to talk to each other."
"Friends who talk all the time!"
He gulps as he takes the plunge, "Do… do 'friends' almost kiss 3 times?"
She stops, her heart skipping and butterflies flying in her stomach. "… I would assume normally no."
"So what are we Yaoyorozu? Cause I'm gonna be honest, I think of you as my friend… but I think I feel more than just friend for you."
Her breath hitches, her palms get slightly sweaty. Inside Peter is freaking out, he can't believe he just said that out loud! He can't believe he said it so quickly, so bold! Where did that confidence come fro—
"I think… I think I do too."
Their eyes meet, seeing genuine emotion, desire, care, maybe something else too. "You do?"
She slightly smiles, "I do. Even if I'm not experienced with this… even I know that there's definitely an attraction between us."
"Same… I-I mean same as in I don't have a lot of experience either." He admits, embarrassed.
"Really? That's very surprising. You're without a doubt one of the most caring, selfless, and smartest person I've ever met. Anyone would be lucky to have you." Just as Peter, Momo is internally screaming at what she just said, how easy and natural it felt.
He scoffs, "I was always the nerdy quirkless doofus most people either picked on or ignored."
"Quirkless?"
"I-I was a l-late bloomer." Dammit I blame you Midoriya!
"Oh."
"Yea, and I'm surprised for you too." He cringes and back tracks, "N-Not that I expected you to have a lot of experience! I-I mean you're so smart and beautiful and-and –and—gah I need to shut up."
Despite herself, she giggles, which puts Peter at ease as he joins her before they go back to a slightly tensed silence. "Yao—Momo. The truth is, I…. I want to give whatever this is, I want to give it a try. I want to know where it could go."
He gazes into her eyes deeply, imploringly. Hoping that she'll reciprocate and say yes. Momo gazes right back, he can see in her eyes the same emotions he's feeling but… he sees something holding her back.
"P-Peter." Why does it sound so good hearing her say my name? " I want that too!"
He sighs sadly, "But?"
She nods, her fingers grasping the end of her skirt tightly, "But, I can't. I just don't know how. And we're, we're trying to get our licenses, become pros! I have to make my family proud and I-I—"
Her eyes water as she starts hyperventilating, feeling overwhelmed. Peter does the only thing he can think and wraps her in his arms, soothingly stroking her hair. Slowly her breathing evens out as she settles. She wipes her eyes, "I'm so sorry."
"Don't. Don't be."
She looks up frightened that he might be mad she's only met with a saddened smile, "It's alright. You got a lot going for you, I get it. I'm sorry I dumped this on you."
"Now you don't be sorry, we did this mutually. I'm sorry Peter, I'm just, I'm just not ready."
He rubs her arm soothingly, "I get it. I do. It sucks but I'd rather you want to try with me without feeling like you need to, or that you're obligated to. I think you got enough of that as it is."
The two stand up and she grasps his hand tightly, unsure. He squeezes her hand comfortingly, "Just know that whenever you are ready, I'll be here."
Overwhelmed with affection and gratitude, she pulls him into a firm hug, her face buried in the crook of his neck. "Thank you for understanding Peter."
"Any time." … Why does it still feel like I got dumped?
They pull away and Momo begins to say something else but Peter clutches his head with a grunt. She recognizes the action, "You sense something?"
"Yea, it was sudden, but, there's something going on here."
He starts following where his spider sense was taking him, getting warmer as the severity of his spider sense grows until he sees Uraraka clutching Izuku. He quickly runs to his friend asking what happened, Uraraka answers worriedly, "This guy was choking Deku-kun!"
Peter checks his friend, but Izuku glares at the hooded man that was walking away, "Hold on Shigaraki!"
"What?!" Peter glares at the hooded man in alarm, The one behind the USJ attack?!
Peter gets into a defensive stance in front of Momo but Izuku holds him back. "I have a question too. What is All for One after?"
All for One?
Shigaraki stops, seemingly in deep thought, "Who knows really, but here's a little word of advice, friend. Be careful. The next time we meet, I'll likely have to kill you."
He starts to walk away but Peter blurts out, "If you're gonna continue shopping in the mall I suggest a bath and body works, they'll probably have the lotion you desperately need, dermatologist approved!"
His friends stare at him dumbfounded and he sweat drops, "Sorry," he whispers, "I have a bad habit of making jokes in tense moments."
If Shigaraki was annoyed he didn't show it as he turns his hooded head enough to make eye contact with Peter, "huh, the American. So you're who the Green one is interested in." he whispers, with only Peter being the one to hear him.
Green one?
"Wait!" he calls out but he's disappeared into the crowd.
Despite an hours long search done by heroes and police officers, Shigaraki was nowhere to be found. They surmised that his ally who displays the ability to create purple warp gates to travel had aided in his escape. Which meant there was no further use in continuing the searched. Afterwards Izuku and the others were interviewed by the police to see if there was anymore information to be gained that can help shed the light on these villains but there wasn't much that at least Peter and the others could discern.
Some tense days at school passed from then on but eventually everyone was finally able to relax as summer break was on the horizon. And it turns out, to Peter's bemusement, more than just his classmates was excited for it.
Aunt May scrambles through the kitchen making sure everything is stocked up, "Are you sure you'll be fine on your own?"
"Come on Aunt May it's not the first time you let me spend a week on my own." Peter grumbles as he sits on the wall, yes the wall.
"Yes and every time I do so you inevitably try cooking something which ends up catching fire." She points out.
He sputters, "That was only one no wait, two times!"
"It shouldn't have reached one time!" She retorts.
"The house didn't catch fire though! And what wasn't burnt tasted good!"
"Still I've left you enough money to order in until get back." She fidgets for a second.
"I can still cancel if—"
"Aunt May no, you Deserve a break, spending a week on a girls trip with Mrs Midoriya sounds like fun for you, although going with Mrs Bakugo is still a surprise to me. Hopefully she's nothing like her son." He grumbles under his breath.
She shrugs, "Apparently she's old friends with Inko and they hang out every now and then so I'm hoping that means this'll be fun."
"Hmm."
The door is knocked on, to which May quickly fixes herself and answers, finding it to be Tony Stark. "Mr Stark? Wasn't expecting to see you here."
"I was in the neighborhood, decided to might as well stop by."
"You were doing surveillance weren't you?" May crosses her arms with stern look that quickly makes Tony sweat.
Tony rolls his eyes, "Yea yea ok, every now and then I fly by, I like to make sure your neighborhood is clear myself."
"That's sweet." May says.
"So, have you thought about how you'll get there kid? You know I can always offer you my private jet?"
Peter steps onto the floor, "… To what?"
Tony double takes, "You don't know?"
"Know what?"
Tony pinches the bridge to his nose. "Haven't you read your mail?"
"Yea, what about it?"
"You won the Sports Festival and since you won you were invited to I-Island!"
Peter's jaw drops, "What?!"
"Didn't you get anything about it?"
"I did but I… skimmed it and thought it was a flyer."
Tony throws his hands up, "Ok you know what it's ok. You still have time to accept and I'm also offering to take you via my private jet."
"You're going?"
"Yea! There's a yearly special expo I'm invited to that celebrates the best minds of this Era." He informs them, looking slightly smug but the two decide not to point it out.
"Oh good! That means my home won't be burned down."
"Aunt May!"
"It's true!"
Tony find their banter amusing and allows a small chuckle to escape before also notifying him, "And kid, you can bring a plus one with you too! Got anyone in mind?"
Peter scratches his chin in deep thought, "Well Aunt May has plans of her own, so let me give Midoriya a call."
He takes out his phone and doesn't have to wait long before it gets picked up, "Hello?"
"Hey Midoriya! Guess what? I've been invited to I-Island!"
"You too?!"
"… Huh? You're already going?"
"Y-Yea, All Might was invited to I-Island by family that I didn't know he had and decided to let me tag a long!"
"Oh ok. Well I guess I'll see you there."
"Can't wait!"
The line goes dead and then he shrugs, "I got nothing I guess."
"Well then if it's alright with you, I'd like to invite my intern for the ride."
"Sure the more the merrier!"
"Alright I'll make a few calls then, mean time I gotta skedaddle, see ya in a couple days kid!"
Those few days didn't fly by fast enough for Peter who was beyond excited to have his childhood nerd dream come true! The Chauffer drops Peter off in the private hangar owned by Tony Stark where said billionaire is standing by the advanced looking aircraft , shades on and an expensive looking suit, which was not armored. He dramatically checks his watch,
"Geez kid you slept in? It's about time you got here!"
Peter raises an eyebrow, "You're driver was the one who picked me up Mr Stark."
Tony waves off his comment, "Important thing is you're here now, Ah! And it looks like your plus one has arrived as well!"
Peter watches as another car arrives and feels his blood run cold when the door opens and a very familiar head of pink dreads pops up. "Glad you could make it!"
"I'd never miss this Mr Stark! Thanks so much for giving me this chance to show the world my babies!" Mei exclaims.
Peter groans, "You gotta be kidding me!"
Authors Note: If you need help visualizing it, Peter's dance dance revolution spectacle was inspired by Jim Carrey in the Movie Yes Man, when he was drunkenly dancing. And there we have it, momo and Peter finally talk about theri feelings for each other! Sorry that they still haven't gotten together yet, but to be honest it wouldn't be spiderman if he didn't have trouble when ti comes to his love life, plus it'll add to the negative emotions that he normally bottles up, negative emotions that a certain intergalactic sludge alien loves to feed on... anyway, hope you guys liked it and next up will be the beginning of the two heroes arc! Like i said I'm loosely following it, but the main villains will be villains form the Marvel universe, but again it's not Ultron.
Also speaking of comic universes, anyone else see The Suicide Squad? I loved it! but then again i had a feeling it was gonna be great cause one, no one can handle an ensemble group of characters barely anyone knows like James Gunn and two, James Gunn shines brightest when he has complete control and when he can make his movie rated R, so i wasn't dissappointed at all! But Slither still gives me the creeps.
wolfblits: Yes it does! One of my favorite arcs!
AverageWeaboo36: Me too! XD It was a joke I've always plnned on doing to Peter, bless his poor heart lol.
Guest: Can't confirm or deny anything but those are some good guesses! One thing i will say, Ten rings are on my reserves of possible groups to use but I want to see how the new Shang Chi movie handles them cause it's being presented in an interesting way and I'd like to see what they came up with for it.
OKKO3 Requiem: That's something that'll be explored more later, but one thing that i've decided on to lead into a mystical arc in my story is, in this universe, everyone has acertain connection to the mystical side, but it's normally very low. There are only certain individuals that have enpough of a connection to be able to train in the mystic arts. So not everyone can wield it so an agreement was made that students will have a field trip to one of the sanctums around the world where they'll be taught by the Order, first to see how much fo a connection they have and also to learn from them how to spot them and/or combat them even if they're not mystically inclined. I'll explore more when the time comes but yea that's my reason. space stuff will be explained more later on but for now the best thing i can say is that it's a lot like how the Men in black handle things. Not the whole erasing memories but that very few heroes meet the qualifications to be approved by earth and the Nova Corp to either become Part of the Guardians or the Nova Corp. So for the most part their taught things like that and like other jobs they can prepare to take that next step in their career.
TheGreatGodzilla: Of course! Spectacular spiderman is and always wll be my favorite spiderman cartoon! You'll see how he comes into contact with it though. I did red that in your story and i am excited to see how you handle it, I'm still figuring out her origins so that she could be possibly swayed by Peter and/or Izuku when they meet. at least in my rendition of it. It's kinda funny, a lot fo times both Marvel and Dc will show how eventually some way the villains win, i always like to bring up how the one and only future Reed Richards saw where earth thrived and was in peace was the one future where Dr Doom ruled over all of earth, or how Lex luthor became president and basically America was at it's very best, much to supermans shock and frustration. When it comes to AIM, i go back and forth with how i'd use them or even if i would. I'm defintiely not doign how they did in the game though, wasn't much a fan of it. I mean it was cool and all but they basically turned them into a high tech version of the Friends of Humanity who target inhumans instead of Mutants. I was like might as well jsut make this mutantss isntead cause they're copy and pasting their stories. That is a good idea though, and it'll make it big enough to have their presence known but not to big where they over shadow the threats i have planned. All for One absorbed Mr Sinisters corporation and used it to fund his shadowy empire as well as use his research. The whole X-gene thing will be explored more when they class goes state side. I did leave a review! As i said there thoguh it took a few reads for me to fully grasp things just cause this past month has been busy so my mind has been all over the plus, coupled with a few bouts of writers block and i was a mess lol, but i like how it's going and also this happens to everyone when it comes to writing in general so rmeeber no pressure and take whatever time you need so it comes out the way you want it to. I'll be honest, i was happy to see Bakugo finally apologize to Izuku. I'm also shocked to see how many of Bakugos fans were mad at that and decided to drop MHA because they beeived him apologizing was ruining his character. It's not it's development. But when it comes to the civilians, i wasn't shocked, we see it with spdierman all the time how much civilians will tear down their heroes despite the good they do. There's a lot that'll happen and will be different when i get there but Norman will defintiely be enjyoing the chaos! And i was happy to see Ochaco defend Izuku! But Class 1A will have a strogner bond here cause that's what i'm also goign to dedicate chapters to, building a stronger bond between them all, so when push coems to shove, they won't let their friends go without a fight! Ye Peter is gonna have a really tough time when it comes to Momo's dad and what better way to show off how rich they are but unnecessarily buying ancient weaponsXD, you'll see, hough not everyone will be changed because of Uncle Ben's words, i think it'll keep the little realism this story has if soem characters stick to the side they've chosen even when they realize it wasn't the right one. I understand what you mean when it coems to Dabi, to me he seems to react the way that jason Todd did when he was first ressurected and found out about Tim Drake ( and then attacked him) he was already unstable so his trauma will warp anything even Shoto's experience as anything better than his, i chose to see it as him perceiving Endeavor's relationship with Shoto as much more loving that what he had to endure and wants to ruin it as another way to attack endeavor and anything he loves. Punisher existed a long time ago but underground vigilantes and even soem civilians that are critical of heroes hold him to a high regard. Hell there's soem vigilantes that see him as an inspirational hero. I feel like when stain failed to change peoples minds, the history lessons concerning Punisher is what gave him the idea to take up the fight himself. And yea, I wanted Aizawa to have a reason for why he's so against vigilantism and what better expeirence than the event that kicked off civil war, side note I personally liked the Comic book civil war more than the MCU movie. I decided to bring him to current times instead of the beginning of the Quirk age. And Yea Peter will msot likely have a love ahte relationship with Mom's parents, mostly her dad though. If they do have kids, one has to be named after May cause of the daughter he had with MJ in the alternate universe spider girl. But we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
CRUDEN: My headcannon is that event is what cuased society as a whole to hate vigilantes more than villains as stated a few times in the manga. Since it was the event that cuased public opinion to tank for heroes in Marvel, i felt like it'd be the perfect event to do the same here, plus to give a stronger reason for why Aizawa is against vigilantism.
fanalis1995: Trust me that was one of the hardest parts lol, and it gave writers block a few times cause it was difficult to think it up . One thing i defnitnely will explore when it comes to the symbiotic, is how the effects it has on Peter will be similar to that of an addict.
spider of the leaf: It's true that Momo's parents aren't as strict as i'm making them out to be but i decided to go this route cause i feel like it could add a stronger reason for why Momo took her loss so hard. I'm definitely taking into consideration both ideas, though when it comes to who would teach PEter how to use a katana, i feel like that'll be done when he finds a master that'll help hi discover the way of the spider. When it comes Venom, i can say right now it'll be a bit of both. But we'll so how when it comes time. And thanks! Like i said in the other replies, that felt like the best event to use here and real quick whatever happened to speed ball? Like is he even alive in the comics anymore? And yes i did get that idea after the disassembled event, i rmeebr reading that around the same time he developed organic webs, he also gained the ability to communicate with spiders, i forgot if it also incldued full on control but decided to sue ti cause it's fanfiction so we can always suspend our disbelief lol. Not gonna use black cat just yet, but maybe her civilian identity will be seen at some point. Thanks again!
Ian05: I'm gonna be bringing Harry in when peter is at his darkest place thanks to his dad, can't reveal more from there sorry
TennysonForce: Thank you! I didn't want to use other spdier peoples powers so decided to go for one of his lesser known abilities.
AnimeKing6: I agree completely! Venom especially gets to peter cause the guy has his memories he knows PEter better than he knwos hismelf and the fact that he's immune to his spider sense means he can get to him whenever and wherever he wants!
joeyginise: true, I'll be honest I got writers block a few times when brainstorming the fight.
PixelBerries: Thank you! Happy you liked it!
ManCaptainPokey: yea it was a power he had before it was erased aby the One More day event, i didn't want to use other spider peoples unique powers.
Caddy: Maybe but we'll see cause of what i got planned for Toga.
Ian05: i'm actually feeling pretty motivated! Might take a while for the enxt update so i can finalize the detaisl for the next arc but i'm excited to do it, though Peter will be with Mirko during the Overhaul arc, would like to have him help but i'm planning on him having a separate, spidey influenced adventure.
Anyway, till the next one guys!
