Quick note, I didn't realize until now, embarrassing as it is, that I made a bit of a mistake in chapter 6 where the students came across All Might in his depowered form and didn't react. I fixed it so that they didn't witness his secret so if you guys want to look back and see you can but anyway here's the story!

Chapter 24

The squeal Mina emits was so powerful it caused a few windows in a 30 feet radius to crack. Jiro slaps a hand over her mouth, her jacks moving erratically in the air as if they were in pain. She huffs as she glares at the pink haired friend, "Shut. Up!"

But Mina isn't deterred. She smacks Jiro's hand away and immediately starts interrogating the blonde, who leans back with each question thrown at her.

"When did this happen?! What was it like!? Where did you do it?! Was there tongue involved?! (gasp) Did he touch you?!"

Each question louder than the other, making them all feel even more embarrassed as more and more eyes begin to fall on the group of teenagers. Izuku gapes and locks eyes with Uraraka from across each other, both shocked by the turn of events but completely lost on what to do. Though they both blush and turn away. Mei cackles as she watches Peter duck his head down, wishing the floor could open him up and swallow him whole, especially as he feels a sudden shiver from the icy gaze Momo shoots at him.

"A-Ashido-san! That is an extreme invasion of privacy you should not ask anyone! Especially as a representative of UA!" Tenya scolds her, chopping the air as he does so.

The scandalized citizens within ear shot of the conversation are evidence enough as they give the group varying looks of shock and judgment. But Mina isn't deterred,

"Oh who cares what everyone else thinks! This is way too juicy pass up!"

"I like you're attitude at least on the first part of that sentence!" Mei comments before taking a big gulp from an alarmingly large cup of soda.

Mina gets so close to Gwen that she begins leaning back off her chair to create more room for herself, "TELL ME MORE!"

Gwen glances at Momo who's looking at her with a cold and dangerous glint in her eyes, poorly hidden behind a look of curiosity. "Um Th-There's not much to tell really. Things… didn't work out. The way anyone wanted."

Everyone, even the socially inept Mei could pick up on the hint of sadness and pain in her tone. Izuku noted the slight dip in Peter's demeanor, though it could also be due to his poor attempt at collapsing in on himself to escape the attention.

"What happened?" Mina asks.

Iida tries to stop her but Peter is the one who speaks up, "Mina… please just drop it."

Momo forgets that she was (supposed to be?) upset and casts a concerned look to Peter who does his best to ignore it.

Before anyone else could ask, a rumble shakes them in their seats and a very familiar cool breeze passes through that casts a big chill to everyone there.

"Whoa, what was that—oh I think I can guess." Midoriya deadpans, his eyes locked on the obnoxiously large glacier of ice that has materialized.

Which can only mean one thing, or person rather. Forgetting the subject at hand, the group quickly run to the source of the exaltations from the crowd that were spectating a familiar students run time in the obstacle course.

"WAAAAAA! THIS IS INSANE! FOURTEEN SECONDS! THIS GENTLEMAN HAS JUMPED TO THE TOP OF THE PACK!"

Todoroki blows out a chilly breath of ice, flexing the hand he had just activated his quirk through.

"Todoroki's here too?" Izuku asks as he leans over the bar.

The bespeckled blonde gasps in awe. "Am I right to assume that he's another student from UA?"

"Yup!" Momo answers with pride in her class.

"Wow you're class is full of surprises!" Melissa exclaims.

"You guys are gonna be such great heroes!" Gwen adds, which Momo accepts with a slight strain in her smile.

Mina bumps her with her shoulder, "What happened to all that grace princess?"

"Leave her alone." Jiro warns with a glare.

Mina relents, but unfortunately for Peter, Mei does not as she continues to tease him. "Well well, turns out goodie two shoes Parker isn't as squeaky clean as we all thought!"

"Shut up." He grumbles, pouting.

"I don't really understand why there's so much tension right now." Izuku asks as he watches the works rapidly thaw the giant ice construct left by Todoroki.

Peter and Mei share a look before Peter asks Izuku, "How can you not? It's about the same situation as you and Uraraka."

His friend gets red and starts flailing his arms, "W-W-w-what?! Me and Uraraka?! What do you m-mean the same?!"

"I mean, her reaction? You know, being the same as Momo's… well that definitely wasn't the same, Momo was a lot scarier." He shivers at the memory of the glare. He swore he could evaporate under its intensity.

Mei raises an eyebrow and smirks, "Momo huh?"

Realizing his mistake, Peter hisses, "Shut up," Through his gritted teeth and starts grinding them as Mei giggles away his threat.

"Anyway, Yea it is the same, you didn't notice?"

Somehow looking even more lost, The One for All inheritor asks, "Didn't notice what?"

The spider quirked teen simply stares in disbelief at his friend. "Wow, you really are dense huh?"

"And people say I can't pick up on social cues!" Mei laughs while throwing her arms behind her head.

"You don't." Peter deadpans.

"Shut up!" she sticks her tongue out at him.

Before Izuku can ask further questions, Todoroki finally got out of the battleground and made his way to the group. "Oh the class is here."

"Not all of us. The rest of the girls are on the Island but after an impartial game of chance, they lucked out of access to the preview. But when it's all over we do plan on exploring the Island." Jiro explains.

"Wait if you're here, is Kaachan here too?" Midoriya asks.

Peter smacks his forehead and grumbles, "I swear my migraine will never go away if he is."

"Only those who won the Sports Festival are invited and when I tried bringing up the idea of getting a job here to come to the island he-" Kaminari gets flashbacks of his classmates explosive tantrum—"He said no."

Peter sighs, "One less thing to deal with."

The American teen nods his head to Todoroki to get his attention, "So what're you doing here Elsa?"

Todoroki stares blankly, "Who's Elsa?"

Not having the motivation to explain, Peter instead answers, "A retired Pro hero with ice powers."

Todoroki puts his hand to his chin, "I should conduct research on this Elsa for possible training regimens then." He notes to himself, " My father was invited so I'm representing him. "

"Is there anyone else who'd like to throw in their hat for the obstacle course?!" The announcer asks to the raving crowd, cutting their conversation short.

Uraraka grins brightly and encourages Izuku, "Deku-kun you should try!"

"Wh-what?"

"Yea! I'll go so far as to say that your score may even rival that of Todoroki!" Iida reinforces Uraraka's declaration.

"O-O-Ok!"

Gulping nervously, the green haired teen enters the obstacle course as the class cheers him on. Peter whistles loudly but feels someone tap his shoulder. He sees once again that it's his childhood friend Gwen Stacy.

"Can we talk a bit Pete?"

"S-Sure."

The pair peel off the group, ignoring the many eyes on them as they walk away, a little too closely for Momo's taste. "Jealousy, thy name is Yaomomo!"

Momo sputters and gapes at her cackling pink skinned friend, "I told you to leave her alone!" Jiro yells.

"I'm not doing anything!" She raises her hands, "Just making an observation."

"Th-There's nothing to observe." Momo Stutters, and cringes from how unconvincing that sounded to even her own ears.

Smirking, Mina retorts, "Oh I don't know, I think there's plenty to see. Like how between glares you and Parker-san were making goo goo eyes." Her eyes narrow in accusation.

Momo raises a confused eyebrow, "Goo goo eyes?"

Jiro runs a hand over her face as Mina continues. "In all seriousness, might as well let out what you're 'not' feeling now instead of bottling up that green eyed monster, cause something tells me it might make a lot of damage."

Momo opens her mouth but is unsure of what to say. Instead she excuses herself. She walks slowly and aimlessly. Her mind a jumbled mess and her heart worse off. It feels as though it's doing somersaults and trying to burst out from her ribs. Nothing she does can stop it and she rubs her throbbing temples in frustration, unconsciously following the path taken by Peter and Gwen earlier.

Peter strides comfortably with his long time friend, easily falling into step of a familiar rhythm. Despite everything, he's glad to see how something so small and insignificant can comfort him so much. Just the fact that they can connect like this in spite of all the time apart and major changes. Unbeknownst to him, Gwen is having the same thoughts and elation. Having known Peter for so long, it was a shock to see him on TV, as a hero in training no less in one of the most significant events in the world. She's ashamed to admit to herself, she had worried that all the new found fame and late activation of his quirk (still shocked by that and currently processing) would maybe change him or go to his head. But after witnessing his exchange with the rest of his class, she's relieved to see that those worries were unfounded.

It isn't that far a walk as they reach a balcony that overlooks another beautiful view of I-Island. This time Peter was able to witness the gorgeous view of the bustling city, it's advanced structures looking more like a futuristic oasis. A multitude of colors bouncing off its reflective surfaces thanks to the setting suns light.

Peter whistles wistfully, "Now that's what I call a beautiful view."

"It really is." She agrees with a pleased look. Then she smirks as she gives him a mischevious side eye, "And so is that girl."

Peter stiffens, "W-What girl?"

She rolls her eyes, "Quit playing dumb Pete. I saw the look the two of you gave each other. And heavily noticed the glare she gave me whenever she thought I wasn't looking."

"I—We—This-… I –I really don't know how to possibly continue this conversation."

"It's pretty easy actually, just admit it."

"I don't know what you're talking about." He stubbornly replies.

She groans, "Pete come on, just be honest for a moment ok? It's plain as day to see that the two of you are smitten with each other."

He leans against the rail and buries his face into his crossed forearms, "This is so awkward." His muffled voice moans, amusing the blonde to the point that she can't keep from giggling.

"Peter I say this as nicely as possible and as your oldest friend, grow up."

He lazily raises his head deadpanned. "That was still pretty rude."

She huffs but continues, "I'm pretty sure I can guess why you're so hesitant."

"Hesitant? Who's hesitant, I mean what does hesitant even mean?"

She gives him 'The Look' and he flinches, "Ok ok I'm sorry, please continue."

"Good… Knowing how much of a neurotic mess you are, you probably got it in your head that I would have some type of problem with you and – Momo was it?"

He sighs and nods, "Yea it is… So…?"

"So what?" She teasingly asks, pretending to not know what he's wondering.

He growls under his breath and stutters, "A-Are y-you ok with… all this?" He gestures wildly with his hand.

"Yea I am."

He stands up ram rod in shock, "You are?!"

She chuckles and casually leans back on the rails, "Peter, It's been two years since we last saw each other. Two years where I had time for myself to think and process. What happened between all of us and… and my dad. It took the first six months for me to realize I needed to talk to someone and not bottle it up, so I took up therapy. And it honestly was the best decision I could've ever made." He faces Peter, "Cause it helped me to move on. That's why I'm ok with it Peter."

He double takes, "O-Oh… You mind me asking with who?"

She throws her head back in a loud laugh, "Pete, you don't need to be with someone to be able to move on from a chapter in your life. I've just accepted things, made peace with it and myself and decided to continue on with my life."

Peter looks at Gwen. Really looks at her. He can see the difference. Last time he had seen her she was even physically weighed down by the stresses of her life. The death of her father, the mess that became of their once tight knit trio. Her normally bright blue eyes were dimmed, she had become frail and bags developed under her eyes from lack of sleep. But now, it's like she was back to how she was. Better actually, she regained her light. And she did it all by herself. Peter was so immensely proud of his friend's progress and strength.

"You should make a career out of this, not even joking I felt inspired right now."

"Tch, no thanks, public speaking still makes me dry heave."

He snaps his fingers, "That's right you did throw up that one time presentin—(SMACK!) Ha hahahahaha, Sorry I won't bring it up again!"

She shakes her throbbing hand, "Geez when did you become so thick skinned."

He shrugs, "About the time I started clinging to walls."

They share another chuckle before falling back into silence. "You know Pete. You can do it too. You don't have to let the past define your future."

He wishes that were true. He really does. He wishes it, But. He looks down at his hand, where he can still feel the ghost sensation of the spider bite. The bite that cost him his uncle. The bite that lead him right in Normans path.

"I don't think that's my choice to make anymore." He whispers gloomily.

Unaware of his inner turmoil, Gwen pats his back, "For what it's worth, she's a catch Pete. Whatever it is, she'll come around. And when she does, don't mess it up. World class hotties like her and me don't come around that often." She winks.

He rolls his eyes and bumps her shoulder with his, "Now who's got the big head huh?... Thanks though."

"Don't mention it Pete."

Pushing off from the rail, she leans forward and presses a kiss to his cheek, which quickly becomes as pink as her lips. His mind turns to mush for a moment, but quickly snaps back to reality when Gwen gasps, "Oh uh, hi didn't see you there."

Oh no. Peter flinches when his fears are realized and of all people, it was Momo who had witnessed the intimate moment. Once again she has a stoic expression which unnerves the spider quirked teen even more. Come on I'd take anger over this, at least I know what to expect. But being as expressionless as a sphinx is so much scarier, like what are you even gonna do next woman!?

Sensing the tension, Gwen nervously makes her leave, "Would you look at the time! I should probably leave you to it, hope to see you guys tonight!" Not waiting for a response, Gwen power walks herself away, leaving the two alone.

A few tense moments of silence pass when Peter decides to try and break the ice, "So…um… Lovely weather am I right?"

She crosses her arms, "Didn't take long for you to head into another relationship it seems."

"WHAT?! We- Gwen and I are not in a relationship!"

She narrows her eyes, "How would I know? I didn't even know she existed and it turns out that you two were very, intimate. Having your first kiss with her after all."

His eyes bugged out, "She told you that!?"

Her eyebrows raises, "Oh? You didn't want her to? You wanted her to keep it a secret instead?" Each question getting more and more accusatory.

Indignant Peter steps forward, "Now hold on a second, you never asked me anything about my life before hand. I would've told you! It just… never came up."

"Would it have come up?" She asks, her heart hammering and her chest tightening.

"I don't know, maybe. It was a really painful point in my life that I hated to think about." He tries to explain.

She takes a calming breath, "What else are you not telling me?"

He's taken aback by her question and rather hurt. Did she really lose trust in him that quick? You do have secrets. Shut up! He screams to himself mentally. He starts to feel defensive and fires back,

"Momo everything you've asked of me, I told you. Even when it hurts."

Her mouth drops open slightly, her resolve weakens just a bit. " I- I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me."

"It's ok. I know it must've been a big shock especially after our last conversation."

She smiles shyly, "Yes… I don't know what came over me. But when I saw her so close to you. It felt different from when Mina or Hagakure get close to you. I don't know how to describe it, it just bothered me so much." Her hand delicately lays atop her chest, wanting to grab whatever the feeling was and rip it out so she wouldn't have to be tormented by it.

Peter tries to keep the smug feeling from growing in him. But can you blame him? He's always been the nerdy kid that no one would look twice at. So having someone feel jealous of him, it was sorta an ego boost. Don't be a douche bag Pete focus!

"I understand how you feel."

"You do?" She asks skeptically.

"Yea. Dumb as it may seem, get that same feeling whenever Mineta tries one of his stunts on you. Almost ripped his head off once."

Her eyes shine, "That would not be an unwelcome sight."

"Tch, I bet… Momo I'm sorry I didn't tell you."

"Don't apologize Parker-kun. It would be unfair of me to even ask. You don't… you don't owe me that."

She has to turn away slightly when she says that. It's true. They had agreed to remain friends. Knowing one so deeply is a right that is reserved to someone special. They had agreed to deny each other that place. She had believed that to be the right decision and yet, it felt like she was burning herself inside when she spoke those words. Like poison to her soul. She abruptly gets the urge to leave and quickly makes her goodbyes, nearly going into a sprint as she leaves Peter in the dust.

"I-I need to go!"

He drops his shoulders and hangs his head down, "That could've gone a lot better. Glad Gwen didn't see that cause I'm sure she'd tear me a new one for screwing it up already."

In a dark room, guards are tied down and laid face down on the ground. Some are struggling to break out of their restraints, while others shiver in fright at the sight of the villains who have attacked. A man in green body armor and a tail stalks slowly in front of the group, his orange visor doing little to hinder the fearsome scowl splayed on his face. Another man standing 2 feet taller than everyone present lets out an animalistic huff. His size is made even more intimidating thanks the physical change his quirk had given him. He looked to be a hybrid between man and rhino, with grey thick skin that did nothing to hide the bulging and powerful muscles beneath them, and a very sharp looking horn sitting at the top of his head.

"Can't I squash one? Please?"

Scorpion snarls, "No you idiot! Boss said no killing! Not yet at least."

"Aww but I want to squash the puny guards!" He whines in a thick Russian accent.

Scorpion rolls his eyes, "Why the hell did Osbo—"

"Don't say his name!" Wolfram orders, his men working to arm themselves quickly and quietly. "Nothing can lead back to him or else it's all our asses!"

"What's the point? They're gonna die by the time we make our hit, who cares if they know one name."

"I care."

Everyone stops at the sound of the authorative voice. Gargan stifles a gasp, locking eyes with the man wearing a blonde wig. Said man takes it off and throws the shades he was wearing to the side. Norman grins, "I care because that isn't the name that's supposed to be made famous tonight. No," His skin starts to turn green and scaly, his eyes yellow. "Tonight, will be the night the Green Goblin makes his debut. And it's gonna be a doozy! HEHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

The high pitched maniacal cackling terrifies the guards, it was so sinister and full of malice. Their hearts turned cold as the reality of their impending doom began to dawn on them. Some started to scream against their gags, and turning their wrists raw as they struggle against their binds.

"OHOHOHOHOHOHO! They're squirming! Oh shsshshshshsh! Calm now, this isn't the time for fear." His grin turns sinister once again, predatory almost. "That comes later."

"Boss."

Goblin gives Wolfram a look, "What?"

"Just got notified. All Might's here."

"Oh I know. Worry not Wolfie, we're all prepared for this. You already know what to do." He puts a fist to the left side of his ribs, hinting at the knowledge they both now share. "How long before we have control of the security system?"

Choosing to ignore the nickname Goblin had used, Wolfram notifies him; "Another 10 minutes tops."

"Good. Once you're in, then you can dispose of these poor bastards," Norman waves a scaly hand to the whimpering guards, "Once that's done, you can begin your infiltration."

"Got it."

Another door opens and in walks the rest of Norman's group. A man in a yellow and green costume with lightning bolts stylized throughout, last but not least, Molten Man. His brilliant golden skin ominously glows as the heat begins to build.

"Gentlemen, please ready yourselves for tonight's… Entertainment." Norman orders with a cackle.

"Sorry about getting side tracked like that kid." Tony apologizes as he walks Peter to his room.

"It's ok Mr Stark, kinda expected it to happen."

Tony gives him that, "Still it's gonna be a bit busy tonight too cause of the award Ceremony. But I did pull some strings to free up my schedule for tomorrow so I promise, after tonight we'll both be scott free!"

"You didn't have to do that Mr Stark!"

"I wanted to though, can't leave my protégé high and dry like that!" Tony notices tension in Peter's gait and asks, "You doing alright kid?"

"Huh? Uh yea… no. Mr Stark, I mean, Tony—"

"Finally—"

"Have you ever had to deal with, um, I don't know how to describe this. I guess a limbo?"

Tony stops, trying to understand what Peter is trying to say, "Is this, girl trouble?"

"No!... Yes."

"Ah! The classic 'will they won't they' phase. Can't say I missed that." He mumbles the last one.

"You have experience?"

Tony smirks, "Kid you realize who you're talking to right?"

"Almost forgot."

Tony places a hand over his heart, feigning pain. "That hurt. But I'll allow it. Let me guess it's that Momo girl right?"

"How did—"

"You've told me about her already." Tony points out in amusement.

Peter grips his hair and groans, "My mind is all over the place!"

Tony chuckles and pats his head comfortingly, "Young love does that."

"It's not lo—"

"Kid do you want my advice or not?"

Peter drops his hands to his sides exasperatedly, "Please."

"That's better. Now I need more context, have you guys talked at all?"

"Yea we did a few a days ago, we confessed… I-in a way. Or at least acknowledged things between us. But—"

"But you guys decided it's best to not move forward?"

Peter chew on the inside of his cheek, "Something like that."

Tony can clearly see that it's not exactly settling well with Peter and he asks, "Are you ok with that?"

"Yes… No. I can't say I'm not disappointed at all. But I expected her to not be ready."

"Then you have to ask yourself, is she worth waiting for?"

"Yes." He says instantly.

Tony stops walking for a moment, impressed. "Wow, you really must like this girl."

Peter blushes bashfully, "Yea I really do."

"Was not expecting such a resolute answer but I'll roll with it. Seems to me like everything is handled pretty well, very much to my shock. I can't say I see what the problem is."

"Well today we met an old friend of mine. A lady old friend."

"Oh now I see. It was a bit of a shock for her."

"Yea and I can understand her reaction. But it left me a bit confused. Like does this mean she likes me more than she realizes and is gonna wanna try things with me? Or is it gonna be a constant push and pull where she doesn't want to be with me but doesn't want me to be with anyone else?"

"Kid I don't know her well enough to answer that part. But you do. So let me ask, does she seem like the type?"

"No not at all. Today was just, one big mess really." He pinches the bridge of his nose thanks to the antics of all his classmates that lead to the less than stellar introductions.

"Well if she doesn't seem like it then I don't think you'll have much to worry about. But take it from a guy with experience, if it does end up looking like the latter. It'll be in your best interest to cut things off."

"Wha-what?!"

"Calm down kid. Look, like I said, I… hurt a lot of people in my life. There was one whom I regret hurting the most though. I kept pushing and pulling and I honestly expected her to always deal with it because she loved me and I loved her. We both knew it. But eventually, I… I pushed too hard. She left and for a while I didn't see her until she had already found happiness with someone else."

"O-oh. I'm I'm so sorry Mr Stark."

Tony waves him off, "Don't be. It was my own doing. For a while there I was hurt, acted like I was wronged. But really she made the right choice. It was almost too late before I realized it. If I were in her shoes I would've done the same thing."

He stops Peter and the look in his eyes was that of an age old man filled with a lifetime of regrets. The youngster couldn't help but pity the man. As much bravado as he tries to display, he's clearly anything but that on the inside. There was an overwhelming sense of loneliness and depression in his eyes. "That whole dance, it loses its novelty quicker than you think."

The two continue their walk in silence until they finally reached Peter's room. "Alright kid, got about 2 hours before the ceremony to kill. Oh and I took the liberty of getting you a new suit too."

"But Mr Stark I already have a suit!"

"Your Aunt May said otherwise. She told me your size and I had it flown in. Don't worry, it ain't flashy."

"Thanks Mr Stark." Peter opens the door but turns to ask, "Hey Tony."

"Yea kid?"

"This whole formula thing, should I tell anyone about it?"

Tony mulls it over, "I think if you do, you should keep the circle small. At least until we get Norman handled."

The teen leans his head on the door, "If that ever happens." He drones.

"Just think about it kid."

Tony begins walking away but Peter stops him. "Hey Mr Stark. The girl you talked about. Who was she?"

Tony doesn't turn back, he keeps look forward. But Peter can physically see the sadness in his gait as he answers, "Her name was Pepper." And he leaves without saying anything else.

"Something tells me a lot of that story was not pretty." Peter muses as he silently closes the door.

But that silence was ruined thanks to Mei barging in with a frazzled looking Izuku at her arm.

"What the hell?!"

"You missed Green beans turn in the obstacle course first of all and second check out what Melissa gave him!"

Manhandling Midoriya, She holds his arm up like a trophy showing Peter the stylish red gauntlet that's wrapped around his right arm. "Whoa this is so cool!"

"I'd be happy to show the both of you the gauntlet if you could p-please put me down?" Izuku pleads.

Peter gives Mei a look and she huffs, "Oh alright."

She lets him go and Izuku, half dazed, shakes it off and explains as best he can, "It was a gift from Melissa, she was planning on giving it to—uh someone else w-with a power quirk. But instead she gave it to me."

"… So what is it?" Mei asks impatiently, to which Peter flicks her for her rudeness.

"OH! I-It's called full gauntlet, it's supposed to withstand even all Might's full power punches at least 3 times."

Mei is positively drooling from the mouth at the workmanship, but Peter is thinking something else. "Wow, she figured out something so perfect for you in so little time of knowing you."

Izuku gives him a look that Peter understands it's meaning, it has to do with All Might in someway, probably in a way they can't talk about in front of Mei.

"Hey Parker, now that we're here. Is now a good time to ask about your old friends?" Midoriya asks.

Peter stiffens, "I did tell you I'd explain later didn't I?"

In a moment of true sincerity Hatsume asks, "Do you want me to leave for this?"

"No it's… it's fine I trust you too. Just wait until I finish telling you guys everything ok?"

The two take seats around Peter's room and he awkwardly paces back and forth, "Where to start. Um, so as I already told you, Gwen and Harry were basically the only friends I had growing up. We met when we were pretty young, Harry's mother decided he needed to grow up with normal kids at a normal school so she sent him to midtown where he met Gwen and I. We were pretty much inseparable for so long. I mean, we'd go everywhere, even went to Coney Island just so Harry could try authentic New York pizza… and ended up with food poisoning. But I wouldn't have traded it for the world."

Peter sighs and plops down on a seat, head down. "Thing is, Gwen and I were always sweet on each other. We lived right next door, we'd spent almost every waking minute together. It didn't take long before we both realized we had a crush on each other. But it took even longer for us to realize it was a shared feeling. But when it finally occurred to us, it was possibly at the worst possible moment. See, Harry's mom died 5 years ago and she really was the only parent Harry could connect with. His dad Norman, he… he's a very complicated man and very tough to get along with. (Sigh) It didn't help that he was really neglectful to Harry, barely giving him the time of day. Gwen and I, we did what we could to try and cheer him up, but I guess we didn't try our best. Or if we did, our best wasn't enough."

Peter swallows thickly and takes a shuddering breath, "He started to get reckless, doing things tp get his dads attention. He started picking fights at school because whenever he got home his dad would yell at him about it. And the worst part is, he told us that he didn't cause at least his dad would talk to him. How crazy is that?"

The two say nothing, patiently waiting for Peter to continue. "So one day he picks a fight with Kong, I don't know if I told you but he was basically the second big bully in our school, first was Flash and the two were always together like flies on shit. Kong has a quirk that makes him for all intents and purposes a sentient ape, hence the nickname. Don't worry he came up with it himself. Anyway, he was reckless with the strength his quirk gave him and he ended up shattering harry's femur. He had to go to the hospital even get surgery. And Norman? Blamed him for it. Didn't give a damn or do anything about it. And I tried to help Harry, I did! But he took it hard. But when he was prescribed with vicodin, well it took a hold of him. See Gwen knew something was up right off the bat. She tried to tell me but, I just, I couldn't see it, was too blind because he seemed like his old self again. Little did I know it's cause he was high most of the time. It came to a head when I went to visit him and found him in his bathroom, overdosing."

The pair gasp, horrified. "I alerted his butlers and thankfully we got him to the hospital in time. If I was any second later he would've… (Ahem) so his dad put him into rehab for only a month. Father of the year right? When Harry got out, he started to fixate on Gwen. He was thankful that she noticed the signs and tried to help him but, to him, it was cause she loved him. And he held onto her cause of it. Gwen is too good of a person to deny him so she became his anchor, literally he admitted a few times that she was the only thing keeping him clean. He started to hate how close I was to Gwen, physically and emotionally and tried to keep us apart. And I... I let him. I thought, I needed to give him whatever he wanted so he could feel ok or-or happy. But, that was when I realized how much Gwen meant to me and I to her.

One day she invites me over. At that point it had been almost 3 months since I had actually seen her for more than just a second. I felt, deprived almost. I went over and she broke down. She was saying how she felt trapped and she felt so pressured by Harry to stay with him and he acts like she owes him that. And it was just terrible. I wish I did more. I should've done more. Or maybe it's better if I never went into that house. Cause next thing I know, we both confess to each other and, we kissed. Looking back, I don't think it was a kiss of love but more desperation," he shakes his head bitterly, "Like we needed a high of our own."

Peter runs a hand through his hair, "Universe has a funny way of handling things cause at that moment, Harry walks in. He was outraged. Completely, he started punching the walls, smashing her furniture, saying that I was never his friend that I was trying to take everything from him, his girl, his father's love. He-He slapped Gwen."

"What?!" Izuku gasps.

Peter roughly rubs his eyes, "I lost it when that happened, I jumped him and broke his nose. Gwen had to pull us apart and by that point, Harry said he never wanted to see me again. It was the last time I saw him, true to his word. I heard later on that he went on a bender, being rich gives him a lot of resources I suppose despite his age. It got to the point his dad pulled him out of school and sent him off to Europe. Things went from bad to worse cause then, Gwen's father died during a battle with some rogue villain. Threw a pro hero into a house and the chimney lost its integrity and was about to crush a kid. Her dad pushed him out the way but- he wasn't so lucky. George Stacey, that was his name. He was a good man and an even better father. She was devastated. We barely spoke after that, she just threw herself into her studies. Soon enough an MIT recruiter came by cause her and my grades were top in the state. Only spot for one of us though. It would've been a good opportunity but, if anyone deserved a better chance it was her. So I sabotaged myself, and she got the spot. Hadn't seen her since till now. I just- I couldn't bring myself to contact her cause I blamed myself for it all."

He slaps his thigh, "So, that's the gist of it."

His friends were shocked into silence, neither one able to form a single word. To Peter's surprise, it was actually Mei who broke the silence, "Geez. I'm- I'm sorry Parker-san. I- I don't know how you could handle all of that."

"Not well." He somberly admits.

"Parker," Izuku begins, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked you about this." Tears start to leak from his eyes but Peter puts a stop to it.

"Midoriya, I honestly appreciate it. It kinda feels better talking about it. Like, I don't know, it's a little easier to breathe now."

"Is, is this why you try so hard to be a good friend to me? To us?" His neighbor asks.

Peter was only able to nod.

Now sporting a look of determination, Izuku stands up, "I promise to do the same for you!"

"Me too!" Mei chimes in, just as serious.

Pete'rs taken aback by their intensity, "Whoa guys it's- it's ok, it's not that serious."

"It is! You've, you've been the best friend I could ever hope to have. I have not right to do any less for you." Izuku swears. "I promise, you can always count on me Pete-chan."

"Same here webhead." Mei swears with a smile.

Peter suddenly feels very emotional, sniffling and finding it hard to hold back the waterworks. Then Mei surprises them all by stepping forward and giving Peter a hug, "What're you doing?"

"Hugging you… This-This is what people do during times like this right?"

Beside himself, Peter starts guffawing, along with Izuku who comes in and adds into the hug. "Yea I think so."

"Good cause I was really starting to feel awkward."

"I still feel plenty awkward." Izuku comments.

Which brings another round of good-natured laughter between the trio. "Thanks guys, I really mean it."

"So do we."

"Thank you Midoriya. But can you promise me one thing?"

"What is it?" He asks, eager to help his friend anyway he can.

"I beg you. Think of a better nickname than Pete-chan. That's just… Terrible."

"Oh."

Authors note: Sorry for how long it took. It's been pretty difficult to find time with work. Though i do promise to have the next chapter out by next week. I was planning on doing it all at once butI gotta be realistic about my time plus i felt bad with how long it's been since i updated this and my attack on titan fanfic. Also I've finally truly started trying to fix my spelling errors in past chapters. Though i'm sure a few have escaped my notice since i did the majority of them in the middle of the night when i definitely should've been sleeping but alas. I hope the topics weren't too jarring for anyone, it's losely based on harry's arc in spectacular spiderman, i jsut kinda pushed it a little farther.

Also, don't know if i said it before but Norman will have reasons for why he's doing this attack, he'll explain it when the time comes but it's not gonna be what Wolfram thinks.

Also guys, next chapter will have a moemtn where we see hwo the ladies are dealing with things as well as the beginning oft he events of the Two heroes movie! Or at least my rendition of it. A few topics will be revisited, which will be a reoccuring thing including Aizawa's lie he gave to PEter towards the beginning about expelling him. It's definitely gonna come back to bite him and also open his eyes to a few things. When that happens you'll see a lot of changes so stay tuned!

Gwen was always gonna be on I-Island, in fact it was one of the first things that came to mind when i first started this story! and yup Mei being on the Island is gonna open up a few things, everyones gonna have some level of importance to this arc. And you'll see what happens when Peter gets the black suit, it may not be what you think though. I know i alluded Momo to having a tsundere moment but i wanted to stay true to her character. Mostly this is jsut her reacting to emotions she's unfamiliar with and unsure how to navigate them.

spider of the leaf: Lol don't worry it won't be too long before they get together, they jsut got to get through a few hurdles is all. Next chap is gonna be the sinister six though!

OKKO3 Requiem: That's hard to say really but I'd say Kraven's last hunt. It jsut had my attention like no other. And to be honest, the way Kraven ended then, i felt was brutal but very true to his character and gave me some new found respect for him.

Chadforever: Black panther will make a debut, it's jsut gonna take time cause i have it mapped out when he'll appear and the storyline that comes with it. For now, mom can't make vibranium for a variety of reasons. It takes a lot out fo her jsut to make a gram because of it's alien molecular structure, or the wakanadans havea lid on it's secrets which is why adamantium was made to begin with. But really just think about it, if Momo could make vibranium then people would stop at nothign to kidnap her and force her to become a human factory for the rest of her life. If anything i'd say her family forbade her from doing so for her safety.

TheGreatGodzilla: I wanted to do things differently when it came to Harry and Peter's relationship. I most defintiely will use a few lines from the raimi movies though lol. When it comes to Bakugo, just like when i'm gonna call out aizawa's 'teaching method' it'll directly impact bakugo as well and hopefully changes dynamics around. Like i said Midnight might survive, hell some others might as well, or soem might die in their place. Can't say just yet but things will be revealed in due time. You know i think the word now is conglomeration for a mega corporation, but i'm not to sure. it's something like that though. eventually stains videos can be made public, or if someone is fanatic enough, they may psot it themselves for the public to see. There's so many ways for it to leak. It's really when though. or it already happened and the heroes are trying to suppress it. But I'm sure Shigaraki or someone else, won't mind using it even if they themselves don't believe it. The Xavier institute and even the Sanctum will be visited soon enough. Also Gwen is quirkless in this story, i like her better that way. You'll have to see what roles they'll play though. Wakanda is still located how it is in the comics. I'm honestly not sure where it's placed in africa but yea it's wherever it is in 616 universe. Eventually, Wakanda itself will be visited. I jsut wanted to drop hints here and there. When it comes to the flag smashers, i just thought the whole thing was weak. Like i fully support their ideas to help everyone but i couldn't care less afterwards as characters. Like really i was bored msot of the time when i saw them. Karli was annoying to me though. like how shocked are you that you kill one person and in retaliation one of your own gets killed? And don't even get me started on Sam's speech. All he really says is do better. How many times do we here that in real life? How many times has something bad happened and we all agree we need to do better and things are actaully done to get better? That's everyones go to phrase and every applauds and pats them on the back like as if they cure cancer. Like what else do we do? What's the plan? How do we get there? Giving me a 'do better' pep talk does nothing and leaves us in the same place we were. Sorry, i jsut hated that and it's my frustration with real world events. I'm not sure when it comes to the MLA arc cause it kinda is in the middle of soem changes i'm making, i haven't decided yet.

So far no one has come to me about making a reaction to my story, I for one would not mind it at all. I'd aactually liek to see it so if anyone wants to, they're free to do so.

It's gonna be a bumpy ride for Peter and mom's dad that's for sure. I'm still gonna have MHa influences in the sequel story, though, Toga is not gonna be apart of Izuku's life in that way cause she's gonna have a major change in this story that would make that impossible. Including a shift in the person she'll be obsessed with.

His intelligence is so high that it's classed as almost a superpower. I'm pretty sure that's how they talk about it in the comics too, or was it in ultimate comics? I know it was one of them at least. Wolverine just might! But not in the way you think.
