Hades looked through the universes. "While we could stick around for that universe a bit longer… I like to keep my options open. We'll get back to that one when I feel like it." He chuckled. "Ooooh, this looks promising!"
He looked up at the screen with a devilish smirk. "We all know the sappy tale between Ruby and Pitty Pat. They met, they confessed, they have a healthy relationship, Viridi ate a poison ivy sandwich much to my amusement… hahahaha! But… let's ponder for a moment and wonder what would happen if Palutena heard about RWBY but didn't think they were quite ready yet to tackle the gods."
Hades smirked. "Good one, Pretty Palutena. Of course they couldn't handle this handsome devil! …Alas, they found a way to make me look less handsome in our battle." He grumbled. "Anywho, let's get on to the main event!"
What If… Ruby and Pit Met Differently?
"Guess that means I'm handling Pitty Pat solo in this realm!"
Palutena was contacted by one of her Centurions. "Hold that thought. Hello? What? …WHAT?! Are you sure? Okay… we'll be right there."
"Who was that, Lady Palutena?"
"It was one of our Centurions. They claim that Medusa's back."
"WHAT?!"
"Yeah, and it seems the Grimm have taken an interest in her and are siding with her."
"Oh dear…"
"So we have to go to Skyworld immediately." She prepared a beacon of light.
"Mind if I make a suggestion?" Lucario spoke up. "I know of a certain team who could help you."
"And who would that be?"
Lucario smiled. "Team RWBY."
"Hmm… I'll have to make preparations before going to take care of Medusa. I'll consider it."
"Okay." Lucario nodded as Palutena wrapped herself and Pit in heavenly lights and whisked away back to Skyworld.
With RWBY…
"Hoo… that adventure has left me exhausted." Weiss said as they walked into their room.
"I know… I didn't think fighting a giant muscle-y dragon turtle would make me so tired." Yang yawned.
"Well, we did go through eight areas… one of which was a volcanic wasteland." Blake pointed out.
Ruby yawned as she climbed into her bed with Zwei. "True… still, I'm just ready to-" The moment her head hit her pillow, she was already out. "-Zzzzzzzz…"
"Oh dude, I'm so with you there." Yang agreed.
Unbeknownst to them, Palutena watched them from the comfort of Skyworld. "Hmm…" She rubbed her chin in thought. "Lucario spoke highly of them, and yet…" She rubbed her chin in thought. "Eh, I'll let them sleep. I don't think four fatigued teenagers will be fit for fighting Medusa."
She turned around as Pit was doing some stretching. "You ready?"
"Oh, I'm so ready!" He said, pulling out the Palutena Bow. "Let's rock and roll!" He said as the doors opened up as Pit eagerly ran off and leapt out the doors where Palutena activated the Power of Flight.
One boring week later…
BGM: Toad Town (Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story plus Bowser Jr's Journey)
"Wow! I don't think we ever had the chance to explore Toad Town." Ruby said as they walked around Toad Town with the Mario Bros.
"Pretty neat, huh?" Luigi smiled.
"Yeah!" Ruby nodded.
At that moment, Blake's ears twitched behind her bow as she turned to see Lucario approaching them. "Oh, hey Lucario."
"Hey." Lucario greeted. "Mario, mind if I speak with you for a second?"
"Sure." Mario nodded as he walked off while Luigi continued to give RWBY the grand tour of Toad Town.
"So… have you shown them the Smash Mansion yet?"
"Ah… Weegee and I have been talking about it, but we haven't gotten around to it yet." Mario admitted.
Lucario chuckled. "The way I've been talking about them, it caught the attention of the Hands. They wish to meet them."
"Like… now?"
"As soon as possible, yes."
Mario rubbed his chin. "Well, we best not keep the Hands waiting." He said as he walked over to the group. "Hey bro!"
"And this is Coconut Ma-... yes?"
Mario whispered in Luigi's ear as his eyes widened in surprise. "Like, right now?"
"As soon as possible, yes."
"Well… alrighty then!" Luigi turned to the group. "Alright, girls. Change of plans! We're gonna show you something pretty special."
"Huh?" Weiss wondered. "What is it?"
"Let's-a go!" Mario said as he took off where RWBY looked at each other and shrugged before following the trio.

At the Smash Mansion…
"Oh hello there!" Master Hand greeted. "You must be Team RWBY!"
"...You guys are seeing a giant floating hand too, right?" Weiss asked.
"Yeah… and I'm trying to believe it." Yang said.
"Guys, I think you're being rude!" Ruby said, while trying not to freak out herself.
Master Hand laughed. "Oh, don't worry! I get that reaction all the time. Welcome… to SUPER! SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH BROTHEEEEEEEEEERS!"
Blake cringed. "You couldn't have said that a little quieter?"
"WHAT? I can't hear you!" Ruby said.
"You get used to it." Mario said.
"Ear plugs also help." Luigi said, taking them out.
Weiss sweatdropped. "You didn't bother giving them to us?!"
"Ahahaha… sorry, sometimes I can't help myself." Master Hand admitted. "I've heard a great deal about you four! Lucario spoke highly of you so I wanted to see for myself! I am Master Hand, and you must be…?"
"Ruby Rose!"
"Weiss Schnee…"
"Blake Belladonna."
Yang was trying to get the ringing out of her ears. "Yang Xiao Long… I think…"
"Nice to meet you! By the way, have you met my brother?"
"Hello!" Crazy Hand waved.
"...Another floating hand. Great." Weiss sweatdropped again.
"So! You four look like you have potential!" Master Hand said. "We'll put you up to the following tests to see if you're ready fooooor-" RWBY covered their ears. "Don't worry, I'm not gonna yell this time."
RWBY uncovered their ears.
"THE SUPER SMASH BROTHERS TOURNAMEEEEEEEENT!" Crazy Hand yelled, who happened to yell louder than his brother.
"AAAAAAAAGH!" Weiss cried.
"I didn't say anything about him yelling though." Master Hand said.
"I… think my ears are bleeding…" Ruby whimpered.
"Now then! We've selected the following individuals for you to fight." Master Hand said as RWBY looked to see who they'd be fighting.

"Ooooh, he looks fun!" Yang said, looking at her opponent.
"She looks elegant." Weiss mused.
"Mysterious." Blake said.
"I'm… fighting… a hedgehog?" Ruby tilted her head. "...Is that even a hedgehog? I thought hedgehogs were on all fours, spiky and… not blue. Not to mention they don't wear shoes! …I think."
"Let's get these tests underway!" Master Hand said, snapping his fingers and teleporting them to their respective stages.
"Sup!" Sonic greeted, casually munching on a chili dog in Green Hill Zone.
"...So uh… who are you?" Ruby asked.
Sonic finished his chili dog. "I'm Sonic. Sonic the hedgehog!"
"You… don't look like a typical hedgehog."
"Maybe not from your world, but I'm very much a hedgehog!"
"...Ooookay." Ruby readied her scythe. "Let's go!"
Four successful tests later…
"Congratulations, you four! You four are now officially on the roster!" Master Hand said.
"Woo!" Yang fist pumped, having a black eye while Ruby looked like she's been through the thick of it.
"Ruby, why do you look so disheveled? Weiss asked.
"...I've been lied to about hedgehogs my whole life." Ruby said, peeling off a leaf that was stuck to her cheek.
"Aheheheh… sorry about that!" Sonic said.
"No no, you're fine…" Ruby looked at Yang. "What happened to you?"
"Got hit with a Falcon Punch. I'm okay, but I'm gonna be sore for a while…" Yang chuckled.
A few minutes of decompressing later…
"The next match is about to begin!" Master Hand declared. "Ruby Rose vs Pit!"
"Hey, it looks like you're going against the new girl." Dark Pit said.
Pit sprang up. "Just because she got lucky against Sonic doesn't mean I won't go easy on her." He said with confidence as he summoned his Palutena Bow as he and Ruby were teleported to Palutena's Temple.
Ruby and Pit stared each other down after they were taken to the stage. "So, you're the new girl?"
"Yeah, pretty much!" Ruby nodded.
Pit smiled. "Let's have a fun fight!"
Ruby grinned. "Yeah!"
"Three!

BGM: Boss Battle 1 (Kid Icarus Uprising)
Ruby and Pit ran straight for each other as Pit quickly slid underneath her to trip her up. "Whoa!" Ruby immediately used her semblance to recover and flanked Pit to the side, slashing him away before she switched to her scythe's gun mode and shot him up.
Pit quickly side stepped out of the way and launched high into the air, firing arrows at her where she quickly hid behind cover and fired at him, striking his shoulder. "Nnngh!" He grunted as he came back down and charged at Ruby, splitting apart his Palutena bow.
He can split it apart?! Ruby thought as Pit slashed at her, but Ruby blocked with her scythe as she quickly countered, sweep kicking to knock him over as she shot him point blank. Pit sprang back up as he slashed at her while she countered, parrying him as she swung her scythe down, but he caught the blade with his hands.
"Rrrgh!" Ruby tried to lower the scythe but quickly learned the hard way that Pit was stronger than he looked as he kicked her in the gut and then slashed her away, then fired a few arrows into her. "Mmmph!
Pit lunged, swiping at her with the Palutena bow but Ruby countered, however Pit dodge rolled. "Missed me!"
"Huh?!" Ruby turned around as he slashed her down as he then got on top of her and tried to pummel her but Ruby kicked him off as the two clashed against their blades, looking each other in the eyes.
Holy cow… there's something about him…
I can't put my finger on it, but there's something about her…
Both of them blushed.
HOLY CRAP, S/HE'S CUTE! They both thought as they both jumped away.
"Hey uh… are you feeling okay? You look kinda red." Ruby said.
"Me? I should be asking you that!" Pit responded, before they both shook those thoughts out as they both continued to fight, until Pit flip kicked Ruby into the air and summoned an Ore Club. "Sorry about this!" He said, winding up and swung the Ore Club, hitting Ruby dead center.
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" She cried as she was launched out of bounds.

"GAME! Pit… wins!"
"Oooooh… that looked like it hurt…" Pit grimaced as he quickly walked up to her after the match. "Hey uh… sorry about that. I didn't hurt you too badly, did I?"
"Aside from a splitting headache… I should be okay… even if it felt like I got walloped by a rock pillar…"
Pit grimaced. "How about if I make it up to ya? I heard there's an ice cream shop in Toad Town. You wanna go there? My treat."
Ruby smiled. "Sure, I'd love some." She said as the two of them walked away.
"Oh, look at that. Ruby already made a friend." Yang smiled.
"An angel? That's cute." Weiss said.
Palutena saw this and giggled. "You made another friend. I knew you had it in you." She said.
Once Ruby and Pit got to the ice cream shop, they both ordered their ice cream and sat across from each other. "So uh… Pit, was it?" Ruby asked.
"Yeah. And you're… Ruby, right?"
"Mhm!"
Pit smiled. "That's a pretty name."
Ruby blushed. "Aw, thanks… your name is kinda cute too."
Pit blushed a deeper red. "O-Oh! Uh… no one's ever called my name cute before…" He admitted, biting into his floor ice cream while Ruby ate her strawberry ice cream. "So uh… that scythe… what is it?"
"Oh, this? I made this myself. It's also a high impact sniper rifle!"
"...A what?"
"It's also a gun."
"A scythe gun? …That's a new one." Pit said.
"If you think that's crazy, you should check out my sister's weapons. Shotgun gauntlets!"
Pit sweatdropped. "I see crazy as heck weapons runs in the family…"
"Eh, it's pretty much a thing in Remnant. Everything's a gun!"
"...Now when you say everything, do you mean like… a house is a gun?"
"Pffft! Naaaaaah, don't be ridiculous! Houses can't be guns!" Ruby smiled before rubbing her chin in thought. "Although… I wouldn't put it past the Atlas military to try to make a house that turns into an anti-air tank…"
Pit sweatdropped again. "That's terrifying…"
"But so cool!" Ruby grinned.
"Yeah, good point. It's terrifyingly cool!" Pit grinned as Ruby giggled, both of them smiling and not bothering to hide faint blushes on their faces.

A few days later…
Ruby was in her dorm room, happily doodling away with a lovestruck smile on her face. "What'ya drawin~?"
"Ack!" Ruby yelped, closing her binder as she turned to see Yang. "You saw nothing!"
"Sure… oh hey, is that a cookie on the ground?"
"What?!" Ruby reached down as Yang swiftly took the binder. "I don't see a cook-... HEY!"
"Too easy." Yang said, putting her hand on Ruby's head and preventing her from trying to snag the binder. "Oho~! I see you're doodling Pit!"
"It's nothing! We're just really good friends!"
"Then why am I seeing hearts?"
"We're in a platonic relationship!"
"Riiiiiiight, because people in platonic relationships like to doodle each other~" Yang teased.
In Skyworld…
"Hey Pit? What are you drawing?" Palutena asked as Viridi was visiting Skyworld.
"Oh, I'm just sketching." Pit responded as Viridi peeked over his shoulder.
"Oooooh, it's a girl~!" Viridi teased.
"Ack!" Pit yelped as he turned around with a blush. "It's nothing!"
"I told you he was sketching a girl!" A Centurion said.
"Ooooh… fine!" A Centurion Strongarm grumbled, handing him five hearts.
"We bet ten hearts, not five!"
"Aww, is someone smitten~?" Palutena asked. "...Wait, is that Ruby?"
"We're just… good friends!"
"Wait, that's Ruby?" Viridi asked as she looked at it. "This is a human you're smitten with? …I thought for sure you were sketching Aphrodite."
"I-I'm not smitten with her! We're just… in a platonic relationship! We can like each other platonically!"
"No no, he's right." Viridi said as she walked away. "Pffft, imagine… a human and an angel in love? If those two start dating, I'll eat a poison ivy sandwich."
Palutena gave Pit a knowing smile. "You like her, don't you?"
"...I can't help it, she's cute!"
Palutena giggled. "Oh, I agree. Perhaps you could confess to her one of these days."
"A-are you sure that's a good idea? I mean… she's a human… I'm an angel…"
"I think it'll work out!" Palutena smiled. "Besides…" She leaned in closer to Pit's ear. "This could totally be Viridi's punishment for what she did with those Reset Bombs."
"Eh… I dunno… vengeance doesn't suit us."
Palutena giggled. "Well, I for one, think it's a wonderful idea. Knock Viridi down a few pegs~"

"So, Ruby… truth or dare?" Caboose asked as they were around a camp fire.

Ruby blushed a deep red. "Dare!"
"Okay, I dare you to tell me that you like someone."
"...No fair." Ruby pouted, hearing a snicker from Yang and Nyx. "Well, truth be told… there's this… boy that I like."
"Ooooooh! Who's the lucky boy!" Donut said. "Details, details!"
"Well uh… he's… a brunette and um…" Her face got redder. "I… think he has a crown-"
"Dear god, you're dating a prince? I didn't know you had a type for royalty!" Sarge said.
"And uh… he's really cute and and… um… he wears a toga…"
"Ah, a prince that's interested in Greek culture!" Tucker said.
"And… he has… angel wings…"

"Still think the name sounds ridiculous…" Grif mumbled.

At the Smash Mansion's backyard…
"So, if you were stranded on a deserted island… who would you want to be with to keep you company?" Leaf asked, pulling her marshmallow away from the fire.
"Poyo poyo." Kirby said.
"I don't think strawberry shortcake counts as a companion." Shulk said. "As for me, I'd probably have either Reyn or Fiora."
"I'd probably have either Jeanne or Luka." Bayonetta said.
"Oh, that's easy! I'd have Ruby to keep me company!" Pit said.
"So he admits that he likes her." Zelda smiled.
Pit blushed. "I… I didn't mean it like that! I like her platonically! We'd help each other out on the deserted island until help arrives!"
Falco elbowed Pit. "Come on, we know you like her. Everyone knows!"
"E-Everyone…? Lady Palutena!"
Palutena casually ate a cookie while chatting with Samus. "I think everyone deserves to know you have a crush~" She winked.
"I think it's adorable." Samus said.
"Ooooooh… can we talk about something else?" Pit asked. "Like… play truth or dare or something?"
Falco chuckled. "Sure. Truth or dare, Pit?"
"Dare!"
"I dare you to admit that you have feelings for Ruby."
Pit blushed. "Truth!"
"Okay, do you have feelings for Ruby?"
"OH COME ON!" Pit yelled, causing everyone to laugh.

Later, when Bowser trapped everyone in Peach's Castle…
"Hey Pit!" Palutena walked over to him.
"What's up?"
"I just received word that… Bowser trapped Ruby from within Peach's Castle."
"WHAT?!" Pit yelled. "Send me there now, I need to save her!"
"You got it!" Palutena nodded, raising her staff up in the air as Pit was whisked away to Peach's Castle. "Hmhmhmhm~ Go get 'er, tiger."
Pit landed in front of Peach's Castle. "Hang on, Ruby. I'm coming!" He said.
"...Who are you?" A voice asked as Pit turned his attention to see CFVY approaching him, alongside Penny, Yoshi and Doc.
"Oh, I'm Pit, captain of-"
"Oh!" Coco smiled. "So you're the guy that Ruby has a crush on, eh?"
"Yeah, that's m-... wait, she has a crush on me?"
"Well, I'd say you two would make a cute couple."
"You really think-" Pit blushed. "We're only in a platonic relationship!"
"Suuuuuuuure~" Coco winked. "Come on, let's go save RWBY, JNPR and the others from Bowser."
"Right." Pit nodded as they walked in, and then as they did, a helicopter flew overhead as Daisy free fell before landing on the ground.
"Alright, let's save Luigi." Daisy said as she ran inside.
Several Power Stars collected later…
Pit opened up a door, spotting a door with RWBY's emblems on the side. "I'm not sure what that is… but…" He walked over to the door and pressed his head against the door.
"When I get my hands on that Koopa…"
"I'm not sure how we managed to fall for something like that!"
"Ah come oooooon! We gotta try to think of something!"
"...Guys? What if we tried to put all out body weights into the door?"
Pit nodded. He recognized those voices anywhere. Yang, Weiss, Ruby and Blake… though he definitely blushed when he immediately thought of Ruby.
"Alright, on three. One. Two…"
"Uh oh!" Pit backed up.
"THREE!"
SLAM!
"Oooow! Oooooh!" Ruby groaned. "My shoulder!"
"Well, it was a good try…" Blake said.
"Dammit! Is there nothing we can't do?" Yang wondered.
"Ugh… I'm gonna feel that in the morning…" Weiss complained.
Pit summoned the Atlas Club. "Perhaps I can assist." He said as he winded up and then swung as hard as he could, but as the Atlas Club hit the door, the club managed to bounce off and swung into a wall, embedding itself in the process.
"...What in the…? …It must be an enchanted door." Pit said, rubbing his head. "Well, shoot…" He mumbled as he pulled the Atlas Club out of the wall and dismissed it. "I guess I'm gonna have to find a key."
"Ooooooor!" A voice said as Pit turned to see Nora walking in. "I can bust 'em out!"
"...Uh… who are you?"
"Nora Valkyrie, at your service!" Nora grinned. "And who are you?"
"Pit."
"Pit? …Wait, as in the guy that Ruby likes?" Nora immediately got up close to him, causing him to flinch.
"Mmph!"
"Yeeeeup! You are definitely a looker, alright! Cute too. Ruby found herself a good one!"
"I'm not… I just like her platonically!"
"Suuuuuuuure~! You liiiiiiiiiiiiike her!"
"Do not!"
Nora giggled. "Do too~!" She said as she walked over to the door. "So, this the door you're having trouble with?"
"Uh… yeah."
"Stand back! I got this!" Nora aimed her grenade launcher at the door and fired, but it bounced off. "Whoa!" She yelped, ducking.
"Wah!" Pit ducked as the grenade exploded behind him. "You could've killed me with that!"
"We gotta think bigger…" Nora transformed her grenade launcher into a hammer.
"...You gotta be kidding me." Pit said as Nora gave a good swing, but she bounced right off.
"Ooooh! This door's a feisty one!" Nora smirked. "I need a power boost! Hey Pikachu!" She called out as Pikachu came running in.
"Pika?"
"Hit me with the ol' Thunderbolt! I need a good charge!"
"Pika!" Pikachu nodded.
"...Wait, what are you-"
"Pika… CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" Pikachu used Thunderbolt on Nora.
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
"WHY ARE YOU-"
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Nora laughed maniacally, feeling herself powered up.
"...Huh?"
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Nora jumped up and hammered the wall as hard as she could, completely decimating the entire wall and sending debris everywhere. Once the dust settled… the doors were still standing.
"...Are you SURE you're human?!" Pit said, completely unnerved by what just happened as Nora kicked the door frames as it completely fell over. "You're not normal!"
"Of course I'm not normal. I'm just hyper~!" Nora grinned, causing Pit to sweatdrop as RWBY walked out.
"Well uh… that happened." Blake said.
"We… weakened it for you." Yang said.
"I tried to help…" Pit said.
"Pit!" Ruby exclaimed as she used her semblance to rush over to him and hugged him happily, where Pit returned the favor.
"You're welcome~!" Nora smiled, planting her hammer on the ground as Ren walked in and saw the massive hole in the wall.
"...Nora? I think you're gonna have to pay for that."
"Ah, we can just say Bowser did it!" Nora waved it off nonchalantly.
"Speaking of Bowser… let's go give him the what fors!" Ruby said as they all nodded.
"Right behind ya!" Pit nodded.
One ass kicking later…
"AAAAAAH!" Bowser was kicked out of the castle, courtesy of Daisy.
"I'm not through with you yet, C'MERE!" Daisy yelled as she quickly tackled him and resulted in a fighting dust cloud while everyone else was eating cake.
"Yeah! Kick him in the tail!" Sarge said.
"I guess all's well that ends well." Iris said, already finishing her cake.
Xena looked at her in surprise. "Did you just…?"
"TAKE THIIIIS!" Daisy punted him across the kingdom.
"RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!"
"And don't come back until your next scheme!" She called out.
"Well, I guess that will do." Peach said.
"...Hey, has anyone seen Ruby or Pit anywhere?" Weiss asked.
"Now that I think about it… no." Blake said.
Meanwhile, on the roof of Peach's Castle…
"Wow! I never thought this would be quite the view." Ruby said as they were eating cake.
"Yeah, quite something." Pit said as they looked at Toad Town together. "...Hey, listen… there's… something I need to say."
"What is it?" Ruby asked.
"Um… you see… I… actually kinda like you." He said. "And not like… like you, but more like… I have a crush on you "like" type of deal."
Ruby's eyes widened before blushing. "I… admittedly… have a crush on you too." She said. "I was… honestly worried what you'd think if I had said anything to you."
"You too? I was honestly afraid what you'd say if I admitted I like you!"
Ruby blushed. "So um… now what?" She asked as the two looked each other in the eyes, slowly leaning in and closing their eyes.
"Ruby? Pit! Where are you?" Sarge called out and then looked up. "Oh, there you-... oooooh!" He said as both of their lips met as they started to kiss. He sniffled. "She grows up so fast!" He said while WBY watched on.
"That's my sis!" Yang grinned.
"About time, I have to say." Blake said with a chuckle, folding her arms.
"Good for those two." Weiss said as everyone else clapped or cheered for them while Palutena watched on, smiling.
"That's my boy." Palutena smiled, while the Centurions cheered.
"And that about wraps it up for this one. They met, danced around their feelings until they eventually kissed! Platonic relationship, my foot!" Hades chuckled. "But before we leave… how about we check on Viridi?"
"Mmmm…" Viridi grumbled, seeing a picture of Ruby and Pit kissing that Palutena had sent her as Craglanche prepared a poison ivy sandwich for her and handed the plate to her.
Viridi sighed. "I didn't mean this literally, I was just joking!"
"A deal's a deal, Viridi!" Palutena said to her.
Viridi groaned. "Ooooh, this is gonna be painful." She said, taking a deep breath… before adding some cheese to the sandwich before taking a bite, and then finished the sandwich quickly.
"...Would you like some herbal tea, mistress Viridi?" Arlon asked.
"Yes… that would be-" Viridi's stomach gargled. "Oh no… make it quickly!" She said as she started scratching herself. "Gah! Oooow! AAAAAAAGH!"
She fell on the ground and kept scratching herself. "PUT SOME CREAM IN THAT TEA, STAT! AAAAAAAAAH!"
"Oh, don't worry, cactus butt. If the main universe Viridi can survive it, you can too! Anywho, ta ta for now~!"
