Sorry for the lack of updates to this story for a while. I was focused on my other stories, and when I was about to begin work on this story, I had a massive writer's block moment. But I'm back, and I hope you enioy this chapter.
(Sunday)
Adorabella and Ralph had finished eating sweet walnuts, and they had thrown away the now empty bag that they shared. They are sitting on the bench they normally sit on when they regularly get snacks from Sugarcube Corner.
"Ralph... I've been thinking..." Adorabella slowly spome as her voice trembled. Ralph also trembles, what if this is the 'big' question that Adorabella is about to ask?
"I need to speak to Velvet..." Adorabella said all in quick succession, then sighs. Ralph relaxes as it is not the 'big' question, while about to respond.
"Velvet? Who is she again?" Ralph asked.
"R- remember th- the pony I threw that broken r- rock at?" Adorabella reminded Ralph.
"Oh! Her- right- yes, now I remember," Ralph nodded. He now remembers about the former bully.
"But... didn't she bully you?" Ralph double checked. Adorabella nods.
"Yeah... but I need to talk to her- I just can't stop thinking about it- ugh!" Adorabella groaned as she pulls at her mane with both forehooves.
"Do you want me to come with you?" Ralph gently asked.
"I'm also sure Rainbow won't mind backing you up as well," Ralph added. He didn't want to stop Adorabella pulling her own mane, because he knew she was having a moment and trying to stop her would make her freak out.
"I don't know..." Adorabella mumbled as she slowly stops pulling at her mane.
"If you don't want me to come, that's okay. If you want me to come, that's also okay," Ralph reassured.
"I don't know... I don't know..." Adorabella mumbled, and she becomes less clearer as she speaks. Ralph knew his time with her is running out. Adorabella is running out of steam to talk, and that is usually a sign that she wants to go.
"Are you alright?" Ralph asked.
"I just... I just don't know... I- I- I..." Adorabella stammered as she loses her words. She knows what she means, but she can't get it out.
"Wanna head back to Rainbow's with me?" Ralph offered. Adorabella shakes her head. She likes to go back alone today, so she can think of what would happen if this goes wrong.
"Alright, cya," Ralph nodded while waving, as Adorabella waves and flies off while leaving a pink trail behind her.
(Cloudominium)
After Adorabella had come back, she headed to the living room. She then gets on the sofa which is by the window, and lays on her stomach. She is still thinking how or what to even say. How would she even be able to speak to one of the ponies who used to bully her?
"Heya, how's things developing with Ralph?" Adorabella hears Rainbow Dash's voice. Adorabella turns her head right to face Rainbow Dash, who walks into the living room.
"Yeah, it's g- going okay," Adorabella mumbled slightly.
"Is something wrong?" Rainbow Dash asked, sounding protective. She is worried that Ralph did something.
"Y- you r- remember Vel... V- Velvet... one of the b- bullies th- that I saw a- a while ago?" Adorabella checked, stuttering her words out.
"Uh huh..." Rainbow Dash slowly nodded. She relaxes at that the issue at least isn't Ralph. Rainbow Dash likes Ralph.
"What about Velvet? She isn't harassing you is she?" Rainbow Dash questioned with a frown. The frown isn't directed at Adorabella, it is towards the old former buy. Rainbow Dash is preparing her hooves.
"N- no- she w- was remorseful- but I- I wanted t- to talk- just s- so both of us c- can at least st- start fresh w- with each oth- other- I- I don't know- I- I j- I just want t- to see her a- and put it all behind me," Adorabella stuttered. A part of her wants to do this, and the other part of her doesn't want to do this.
Rainbow Dash thinks of how to answer.
"If it would make you feel better, then you should," Rainbow Dash eventually answered. She isn't sure herself what is the best idea.
"I'll take you to Ponyville, and then I'll quickly go back to my place," Rainbow Dash added.
"So, what days are we most likely gonna encounter her?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Sh- she never said what days she comes to Ponyville, b- but wh- when she does, she comes at o- one or t- two in th- the afternoon," Adorabella replied. She tries to continue on.
"Well let's go there and then you can see her I guess," Said Rainbow Dash, attempting a motivating tone.
"W- w- wait," Adorabella stuttered.
"Is something up? You changed your mind?" Rainbow Dash asked. Adorabella shakes her head.
"What is it then?" Rainbow Dash inquired.
"I- it was a- at tw- twe- twenty-to-five, I- I- I last saw h- her, a- after work, on a Th- Thursday, the s- same week I- I met Marble," Adorabella explained, her stuttering not getting any better.
"Huh, at least you got time to think about it," Rainbow Dash smiled and pats Adorabella on the back. Adorabella feebly nods.
"So let's just chill and not worry- we can figure it all out later- how does that sound?" Rainbow Dash suggested. Adorabella nods, she is comfortable with that option.
(3:00 PM)
At Sugarcube Corner...
"There you go! Enjoy!" Pinkie Pie's voice beamed as bright as her smile did, as she grabs a brown paper bag of randomized goodies from behind her counter, and passes the bag to Lyra, who takes it with her magic.
"Thanks! These are Bob Bon's favourite- she likes surprises," Lyra smiled as she walks out the door, using her magic to hold the paper bag with an aura.
A few minutes later, Rainbow Dash walks in.
"Hey Rainbow, how are you?" Pinkie Pie asked cheerfully.
"Yeah I'm doing well," Rainbow Dash nodded.
"Have you seen a pony that goes by Velvet?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Uh... Velvet? Hmm... do you mean Velvet Ice?" Pinkie Pie checked, as she gone through a list every 'Velvet' she met, through her head.
"I don't know, all I can remember is a little while ago Adorabella encountered her, and she wants to see if she can find her," Rainbow Dash shrugged. She hasn't met or even seen Velvet Ice.
"I said I'd not hang around as she wanted me not to... but I wanna watch from a distance, in case things went south," Rainbow Dash added.
"You'll wanna look out of the door then," Pinkie Pie responded as she points at the open door with her left forehoof. Rainbow Dash walks to the door and slowly peaks her head out, seeing Adorabella and another pony talking. Pinkie Pie also pays attention to what's going on outside.
(Outside Sugarcube Corner)
Adorabella swiftly looks in all directions for Velvet Ice. But she doesn't see the unicorn. She starts walking to Sugarcube Corner, she doesn't want to stand in the middle of the path like a 'lemon'.
"Hey," Said a familiar voice. Adorabella flinches and stops walking as she swiftly turns around. The voice is definitely of Velvet Ice, who is standing a couple of metres away from and facing towards Adorabella.
"Hey..." Adorabella spoke as she shyly looks away and steps back.
"How have you been?" Velvet Ice asked.
"G- g- good th- th- thanks, a- and y- you?" Adorabella terribly stuttered as she asked back.
"I'm doing good as well, thanks for asking," Velvet Ice nodded.
"S- sorry- I... it's s- still uh... uh..." Adorabella stammered, struggling to say what she wants to say.
"Hmm?" Velvet Ice waits for Adorabella to speak up.
"J- just s- still... seeing y- you're here- it's just... I d- don't know w- w- what to say," Adorabella stuttered, then shrugs.
"Wh- why d- do you c- come to P- Ponyville?" Adorabella asked.
"I just like it here. The ponies here are kinder than those in Fillydelphia," Velvet Ice replied. Adorabella nods. She does agree, that Ponyville is much nicer than Fillydelphia.
"I'm looking to move here. I do want to start fresh, you know," Velvet Ice added, in a low tone.
"Wh- wh- what is s- stopping y- you?" Adorabella wondered.
"Well... I don't know how to fit in here. I've made mistakes I'm not proud of. Everypony here seems to have made any bad mistakes," Velvet Ice explained in the same tone, then looks down.
"It- it isn't b- because of- of- of m- me is it?" Adorabella suspected she is part of the reason.
"Well, there's now that- I... when we last saw each other... you, very understandably, hated seeing me here. If I moved here, it would mean you'd have to put up with seeing me all the time wondering around in Ponyville. Even though I know you forgive me, I do still hold a lot of guilt from what I did to you," Velvet Ice truthfully explained.
"B- but I- I... I h- have al- already forgiven y- you," Adorabella stuttered. She has forgiven Velvet Ice a while ago now, even after what she has done.
"I- I also d- don't h- hate you... I j- just w- want t- t- to move on, j- j- just l- like y- y- you do," Adorabella added.
"Same, me too. So... we're actually... chill?" Velvet Ice slowly asked while slowly raising an eyebrow. She is still perplexed that Adorabella forgives her, even after she was badly hurt by her.
"Mhm," Adorabella nodded.
"So uh... what now?" Velvet Ice shrugged. The atmosphere has now become a bit awkward.
"W- what happened... a- after I- I- I went m- missing?" Adorabella asked, as she stutters a little less around the former bully.
"Uh... I don't really remember everything. All I knew was that you went missing and then presumed dead. I think only recently you were 'found' alive. You weren't like all over the newspapers, just a notice saying you are alive," Velvet Ice answered.
"I'm just- I'm just happy that you're alive, and that I got the chance to say sorry to you. I'm not sure what we should do going forward... but I'm happy that we're on good terms," Velvet Ice added. Adorabella weakly nods.
"I- I sh- sh- I should a- also s- say s- s- sorry," Adorabella spoke in an apologetic tone.
"You did nothing wrong though," Velvet Ice stated. She is very confused why Adorabella is saying sorry.
"On a Th- Thursday, when I- I- I threw th- the rock- th- the r- rock th- that I- I- I threw- at y- y- y- y- you," Adorabella reminded, speaking in the same apologetic tone, looking more away from Velvet Ice.
"Ooooh, that- yeah don't worry, I get it," Velvet Ice nodded. She doesn't blame Adorabella.
"I- I- I h- hope we g- get on f- from n- n- now on," Adorabella hoped. Velvet Ice nods. She too hopes that their past relations are permanently sealed away, so they can both start fresh relations with each other.
(Inside Sugarcube Corner)
"They aren't fighting... so it seems like everything's fine," Pinkie Pie spoke enthusiastically. She hopes that Adorabella and Velvet Ice will get along now.
"Hopefully," Rainbow Dash nods as she steps away from the door.
"I should probably leave, before Adorabella decides to leave and finds that I'm not at home and decided," Rainbow Dash thought. Pinlie Pie raises an eyebrow.
"Why? I'm sure she'll understand you're just looking out for her," Pinkie Pie reassured.
"I- I- I d- do," Adorabella spoke, still stuttery from the talk with Velvet Ice. Adorabella is standing at the door. Her sudden appearance makes Rainbow Dash jump.
"Jee- now I know how you feel a little," Rainbow Dash sniggered. Adorabella smirks and nods. Rainbow Dash knew from the smirk that Adorabella tried to make her jump on purpose. Rainbow Dash chuckles a little bit.
"So, how did the talk go?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"It- it w- went well, w- we n- no longer h- hold anything a- a- against each other," Adorabella reassured.
"That's good to hear Adorabella," Pinkie Pie smiled as she leaps over the counter and hugs her, then lets go when she sees her shaken by the sudden hug.
"Now uh- just uh- pinkie promise you'll try to not throw another broken piece of rock if you see somepony else who wasn't nice- okay?" Pinkie Pie spoke in a higher tone.
"P- p- pi- pinkie p- promise," Adorabella shakily nodded. She may not be able to guarantee she won't freak out as badly again, but she will try not to.
"And hey, you have come a pretty darn long way. You were already strong, but today, you are definitely stronger than the Adorabella I met a month or so ago," Rainbow Dash reassuringly smiled as she pats Adorabella on the back.
"T- ten weeks and s- six days ago. T- tomorrow it w- will be eleven weeks... s- so, it will be t- two months and a- a few weeks s- since we first met," Adorabella stated with a smug smile on her face.
"Oh alright Miss Memory," Rainbow Dash chuckled. Adorabella and Pinkie Pie chuckles as well.
Afterwards, Adorabella and Rainbow Dash flew back to the Cloudominium, and spend the rest of their day there. Adorabella feels better that she talked to Vlevet Ice. She also feels happy that Velvet Ice can also move on and feels comfortable moving into Ponyville. Adorabella is still unsure if she considers Velvet Ice as a friend, but she is grateful to at least be on good terms with her.
