Few can understand how quickly stories spread, as even the most hidden of places have eyes that no one knows about.

Be it by spies, drunken men, and women who loudly boast or weep about the adventures that they experienced during their travels, it was during these times that those who sang about the wonders of the world began to sing a song that no one had heard before.

A man who has no color to his name cuts a path through the green, he travels with a girl who is never far from where he is, while the eyes of men have never seen them the eyes of beasts can see them clearly.

Their destination is unknown and no one believes that they will ever reach it.

A stranger who should died long before he even reached the edge of the Green Lands\Wild Lands now sits on its border like a guard.

At his side are several children who have no homes or parents of their own, it's unknown if he has taken pity on them or if he is raising them for a reason.

The nomads are gathering their numbers are growing by the day, they speak of a warrior that fights from within the trees and a city that no one has ever seen.

The different adventurer guilds both large and small call to those who want to make names for themselves or are in desperate need of money to go to the nomads, villages, and towns that exist at the edge of the civilized world and find out whatever they can.

Different rulers dismiss these stories as simple tales that have no truth behind them, while others barely give them any thought.

Even if a city filled with strangers exists within the wild lands, they were no threat to them or their people as the strangers always kept to themselves and didn't leave their lands.

Still, they couldn't ignore the presence of these stories, for their existence alone meant that either someone was foolish enough to enter that hellish place or the people of the Wild Lands had started to leave their homes.

So they ordered one of their most experienced soldiers and one that had no experience whatsoever to go to the places where the stories first started and find out what they could about the strangers.

The stories of the strangers were told and then retold, with each retelling the stories grew more and more fantastical until they no longer resembled what they were.

A man who wanted to forget who he was heard the children outside telling each other his tale and smiled.

"A Human city inside the forest of demons. Maybe we can't start over, there." he said to himself before he threw clay coins at the bartender and lifted the basket that had an infant sleeping in it.

Far from his location a disgraced knight who had failed to save her family and master picked up her sword and began her journey alone, not knowing if the place that no one knew of before was even real.

A boy whose only skill was taking care of farm animals, who had been turned into a slave after his village was attacked, fled from his attackers only to find himself dragged away by the current of the river that he had fallen into.

The winds of fate and change had started to move the world once again.

I can hear the sounds of animals leaving or entering the town as merchants come and go, from what I have seen either the town is important somehow or it's the last place that people go before going somewhere else.

I have no way of knowing if I'm right, but people seem com come and go from, east, west, and south, but for whatever reason they all keep their distance from the grass.

The sound of the smooth stone that I'm using to sharpen the different-sized knives and daggers that I gained the other day almost seemed hypnotic when it blended with the sounds of the world around me.

From time to time, people point at me or stop to stare in my direction either when they hear the kid's loud voices as they play or when they notice the giant pile of bricks that are next to my grass house.

I honestly don't have any idea what to do with these bricks, so I'm forced to read and re-read the manual, and from what I can understand I can make something similar to concrete but with just the clay and dirt around me.

"Don't." I say to one of the boys who tried to grab one of the knives. I know that he can't understand me, but he stops to look at me with a shocked and confused expression.

I grab his hand and put one of the smaller knives in his hand before I grab one of the bigger ones and show him how to hold it.

Over and over again I loosen and tighten my grip so that he can see how I am doing it, before I know it several of the boys gather around us and copy what I'm doing.

It may seem pointless now, but more than once I lost my machete after I used it to cut one of the animals, so the grip that I'm showing them is the one that I learned through experience.

I can smell meat cooking even from this distance and the sound of music is starting to come from the town.

I can't see anything from my spot and because the town hasn't decorated its walls from the outside I can only guess that outsiders aren't welcome to join.

I turn to look at the kids but none of them seem to be in any hurry to join in the celebrations, so maybe it's not some kind of party and this is just how the town usually is.

The voices of the girls screaming make me turn back to the town and I see several of them running towards me as what looks like a woman who is riding on a camel or an animal similar to it follows after them.

The woman isn't chasing them, she just rides her camel as if she didn't have a care in the world.

"I heard that you came from the grass." she says something to me, but her words are strange and I can't understand what she is saying to me.

"He goes in and kills the monsters!" the kids all say something to her but I ignore their excited vices.

I watch as the camel that she is riding on lowers itself so that she can dismount it she wears a bright red dress that has a diamond pattern on its edge.

The hat that she is wearing is the same color but the designs on it are far more detailed, for some reason she is wearing a green scarf over her hair.

It takes me a moment to notice but the designs on her clothes are the same color as her peach skin.

"So this is the grass." she says as she looks past me and starts to walk closer to the grass, she is about to put her hand on one of the leaves when her camel lets out a frightened scream.

I watch as a pair of glowing red eyes stare into the woman's green eyes, it doesn't take a genius to know that she is frozen with fear.

I can hear the creature coming closer and I'm forced to pull the foolish woman away from the edge.

The creature stares at me and we briefly look into each other's eyes, but for whatever reason it steps back and vanishes again.

"What was that thing?" I hear her say, but the kids immediately start to laugh.

"To him lunch." I hear one of the boys answer the woman who looks at me with wide frightened eyes.

"Can you talk to him?" she asks the kids.

'No not yet." one of the girls answers her.

I ignore the pair's conversation and while I know that I shouldn't leave the kids alone with a stranger, it doesn't change the fact that I am a stranger too.

I quickly grab my remaining bombs and several of the longer daggers, before I walk into the grass.

there is only one creature that I encountered with eyes like the ones that I saw and that was a running crocodile and it's exactly what the name says it is.

Imagine a crocodile with long legs that lives on land, it's no different from every other crocodile except it can run and jump the only reason I that I managed to liev my encounter with one, was because something else ran into it while it was chasing me.

I ignore the woman who is now staring at me as I start to look where the thing might have gone, there's no way that I can kill that thing with the weapons that I have, but I need to know why it's so close to the edge.
