"How loyal are you planning to be, Arianna?" Looker asked as he sat across the table from Arianna. "Giovanni isn't coming for you. We've not had anyone reach out on your behalf, so with you alone, I'd recommend cooperation, lest you be put to the rope for him." He slid a stack of papers to her. "Look this over. This is the deal we're prepared to offer in exchange for a guilty plea. Make the right decision." Then he stood and was gone. Arianna turned her eyes down to the papers on the table and began to read. "No jailtime, interesting." Then she flipped the page, and her heart sank. "Testify all information before a grand jury should one be called to indict a co-conspirator. Fuck." She had been hoping to give a light summary of Giovanni's misdeeds and then flee Kanto for a better life. She read on.
"Formally renounce membership in Team Rocket, standard. Relinquish all Pokémon acquired through Team Rocket to the state, fuck you, but it tracks." Then the door opened, and Looker returned, pen in hand. "What do you think?" He asked as he sat across the table from her again.
"I think this deal is pretty good, but the thing that irks me is I have to plead guilty. Could it be 'charges dropped'?" She asked, causing Looker to snort. "Shit, no," Looker said as he chuckled. "We have the Rocket Leak in our database. You're looking at so much shit for what you've been a part of. Charges dropped," he laughed again. "I didn't think you thought so little of me."
"Give me the damned pen." She grumbled as she held out her hand. Looker motioned toward the mirror on the side of the room, and another officer walked in. Arianna took the pen and signed the forms. "There, now what?" Looker smiled. "Now you testify before the grand jury against your co-conspirator, Archer."
Arianna reeled at the thought but tried her best not to show it. After all, she'd gotten a pretty good deal, maybe Archer would get a good one as well.
