Hey guys, TheDoctor1998 here with another chapter. We've officially gone out of prelude territory and entered the main story. Now, on with the show!

XXXXXXXX

It has been a few years after that fateful day she met Pichu, a month after her 10th birthday, and the night before Cinder could officially become a trainer.

Cinder and Pichu were simply sitting in her room, listening to a live battle on the radio, the sounds of the battle in the background as the commentator spoke.

"And Nidorino begins the battle with a Horn Attack!"

"Oh, but Gengar bounces right back!"

"And there it is, Gengar's Hypnosis! This could be the end of Nidorino!"

"Wait, his trainer's recalled him. And he's sent out his Onix, with the giant Pokémon immediately going on the attack with Tackle!"

"But Gengar jumps aside! Not really necessary, seeing as it's immune to Normal Type attacks."

"Regardless though, it's moving beautifully today. It's training is top notch, no doubt about it!"

The duo was so transfixed by what they were hearing on the radio that they did not see or hear Cinder's mom come into Cinder's room. "Cinder, get to bed!" The unexpectedness of Delia's voice caused the duo to fall over from the small fright. "It's 11 o'clock, and you two should be asleep."

Cinder gave an embarrassed chuckle. "Sorry mom, I'm just nervous about tomorrow and I couldn't sleep."

Delia sighed at her daughter's antics. "Well, if you can't sleep you should at least get ready for tomorrow." She then walked over to the radio and changed the channel. "Here, listen to this."

A familiar voice echoed from the radio. Professor Oak, the leading scientist of the Kanto region. "Good evening Pallet Town, tomorrow it's the big day for the newest Pokémon trainers of our town. In preparation for this event, I'd like to introduce any new watchers to Kanto's starter Pokémon."

Delia sighed again. "Please go to bed when this is done."

Cinder was a bit more dismissive. "Alright, I will mom."

Delia then went out of her daughter's room, but had one more thing to say. "And change into your pajamas, OK?"

"OK mom!" And while the radio was playing, Cinder started to take her clothes off.

"Like most regions, Kanto's got three starters that most people can choose from, specifically a Grass, Fire or Water Type Pokémon. Our own starters are Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. Bulbasaur is a Grass/Poison Type that'll evolve into Ivysaur, and Venusaur after that. Charmander is a Fire Type that'll evolve into Charmeleon, and the Fire/Flying Type Charizard after that. Squirtle is a Water Type that'll evolve into Wartortle, and Blastoise after that.

"Bulbasaur and its evolutions have the Overgrow ability, which will boost their Grass Type attacks when they reach their limit. They also have Chlorophyll as their hidden ability, which will double their speed during harsh sunlight, should you manage to unlock that power.

"Charmander and its evolutions have the Blaze ability, which will boost their Fire Type attacks when they reach their limit. They also have Solar Power as their hidden ability, which will boost their special attacks during harsh sunlight at the cost of them quickly running out of energy, should you manage to unlock that power.

"Squirtle and its evolutions have the Torrent ability, which will boost their Water Type attacks when they reach their limit. They also have Rain Dish as their hidden ability, which will slowly heal them during rain, should you manage to unlock that power.

"Now,-" And Cinder could practically hear his smirk, just as she put on the bathrobe that functioned as her pajamas. "Which one shall you choose?"

The next morning came, with Cinder and Pichu having slept soundly, and being woken by the cries of the three heads of the neighbor's Dodrio.

'Today is the day!' Cinder thought with a smile while getting dressed. After removing the bathrobe, she put on her underwear, her black shirt, her black leggings, her knee-length blue skirt, her blue jacket and her red sneakers.

After she was done, she grabbed Pichu and went downstairs, not needing her cane due to the fact she could already navigate her home blindly before her accident.

When she managed to get in the kitchen, she could tell that her mother was busy with making a meal for them. Not only because of the smell of the delicious food that Delia was making, but also because Cinder "saw" her in a typical cooking position with her Aura.

Over the years, Cinder had managed to hone her Aura to a certain extent. She doesn't cause it to manifest anymore when her emotions are strong, and she doesn't have to worry about literally exploding like she did years ago. But most importantly for Cinder, she can now use her Aura to see in a way.

It's not as strong or precise as, say, a Lucario or an Aura Guardian, but she can manage. She can use her Aura to see any living creature within what would've been her eyesight, but that's about it. Dead and lifeless things are completely invisible to her, and even then she can only see a blue silhouette of people.

She is able to instinctually tell one person's Aura apart from another's, but the shape itself is much more basic than some people would like.

Back to the present though, Cinder was smiling, as she knew her mom just made something special. "Morning mom!"

Delia smiled at her daughter. "Morning honey! I'm just done cooking, so you're just in time!" She was setting the table as she was talking. "Now, this is the last meal I'm going to cook for you in a while, so I hope you're hungry."

Cinder sniffed the air and started to drool at the smell, and began to dig in. "Thanks mom!" It tasted wonderfully! She would really miss her mother's food when she was on her journey.

"Pi!" Pichu was also enjoying his meal, even if Delia didn't make it herself.

"Oh, my baby girl's going on her Pokémon journey! She's growing up so fast!" Delia started to cry as she was talking.

"Mooooom…" Cinder muttered with embarrassment, even though she knew her mother would ignore it.

"Now, Professor Oak's waiting for you Cinder. I don't think you'd want to be late, do you?" Delia asked.

Cinder quickly finished eating. "Thanks mom, love ya!" And with that, she quickly dashed out of her home, with Pichu quickly jumping on her shoulder.

"Come back home before you start your journey!" Delia called out to her daughter.

"I will!" Cinder yelled before closing the door.

Cinder was quickly walking towards where she knew Professor Oak's lab was located, using her purple cane and Aura to navigate the area, with Pichu helping her when needed.

Eventually, the duo managed to get to the laboratory without incident. When they got in, they noticed four other people in the room.

First, there was Leaf Green, a girl that Cinder vaguely knew. She knew the girl was shy, and that she was interested in researching Pokémon and catching as many of them as she could.

Second, there was Damian. She knew next to nothing about him, aside from the fact that he was a rather arrogant person.

Third, there was Gary Oak. Once a friend of hers when they were young, Gary quickly became a bully to her like the other children, and didn't stop after her accident.

Last, of course, was professor Oak himself, the father of Kanto's Champion Blue Oak and the grandfather of Gary.

"Hello there." Professor Oak began. "Now that all of you are here, it's time to begin."

"Finally." Came a quiet muttering from Gary, much to the annoyance of most people there.

Ignoring the rude comment from his grandson, the elder Oak spoke again. "Please, follow me to the next room and meet your first Pokémon." With that, he turned around and started leading the trainers-to-be towards their future partners.

When they eventually got into the room with the starters, the Professor turned around to face the quartet of children again. "Unfortunately, due to a shipping error, only one of each starter is available to all of you. Meaning that one of you will either have to get an unconventional starter, or simply wait until a new set arrives. It also means that none of you can get the same starter, so if two of you want, for example, a Charmander, then one of you will unfortunately have to pick something else."

Damian and Gary yelled at the same time, while Leaf's body stance was definitely much more nervous than usual.

Cinder decided to speak up. "Um, Professor, I don't mind having Pichu as my starter."

Unknown to her, this made the older man smile with pride and a hint of nostalgia. "Very well Cinder. All I need is his Pokéball to have everything registered properly, and you'd be good to go."

Cinder quickly reached for her belt, handing the Professor one of the Luxury Balls that were hanging from it. Cinder knew that Pichu hated being in a Pokéball of any kind, as she quickly discovered when her mother caught him for her, but she still stacked up on Luxury Balls for any of her future Pokémon. After all, she didn't believe in catching Pokémon against their will, so she refused to get any Pokéball that can catch Pokémon more easily, like a Great Ball, Ultra Ball or (Arceus forbid) a Master Ball.

That being said, she did have a few Heal Balls as well, in case she ever comes across a wounded Pokémon, like with Pichu when they first met. The Luxury Balls are simply there because she wanted to make sure her Pokémon were comfy in their Pokéballs.

"All done, Pichu is now officially your Pokémon Cinder." Professor Oak said, handing the Ball back to its owner. "Now, I think it's time to meet your partners." And with that, he grabbed the three Pokéballs off the table and threw them, releasing the three Pokémon inside.

First was a small, green dinosaur-like Pokémon with a bulb on its back. The second was an orange lizard with a flame on the tip of its tail. The final one was a light blue turtle with an orange shell.

Immediately, both Damian and Gary stepped forward, bumped into each other and started having a staring/glaring contest. Neither noticed the usually timid Leaf stepping around them until the eldest in the room spoke. "I see we're going for a "ladies first" day today."

Leaf ignored the boys' grumbling, and immediately set her eyes on the first Pokémon. "Would you like to travel with me, Bulbasaur?" Leaf asked with a smile.

Bulbasaur studied Leaf for a moment, before she smiled and jumped in her arms. "Bulba!"

"Excellent." Professor Oak said, finishing Leaf and Bulbasaur's registration. "Now, I think it's time for the boys to decide their starters."

Once again, both Damian and Gary made a beeline towards the starter of their choice, intending to get it before the other. What neither realized at the time was that both were going towards a different starter, Damian going for the second Pokémon and Gary going for the third. Once they reached their choices, they both looked at the other and gave a silent nod of agreement.

Damian eyed his choice. "Well, it seems that I managed to get what I wanted, as usual. You'd better do what I say, Charmander."

Charmander simply danced with a smile on his face, just happy that he'd got a trainer that wanted him. "Char Char!"

Gary simply gave his choice a smirk. "Looks like we've saved the best for last little guy. We'll make sure that all will know the name Gary Oak, and his amazing starter, Squirtle!"

Squirtle started flexing his muscles, clearly happy to find a like minded trainer. "Squir Tle!"

Professor Oak sweatdropped at his grandson's antics, while having some worries in the back of his mind about Damian. Regardless, there's nothing he could do about that for now, as Damian hasn't done anything bad yet, so he simply finished the registration of the boys and their starters as he did with the girls. "Now that that's settled, I'd like to go ahead and give you your Pokédexes now." He then went to one of the many drawers in the room, and picked out four devices.

Three of the devices were red, rectangular machines about the size of a calculator with several buttons and a small screen. The last device looked like a single speaker of a headphone with a holographic projector to be placed in front of an eye.

Gary was the first to notice the odd Pokédex. "Hey, Gramps, what's with the weird Pokédex?"

"Oh, that one?" Professor Oak said. "Simple, it's for Cinder." The older Oak cut Gary off before he could even start speaking about unfair treatment of some kind. "The standard model is, unfortunately, not designed with either blind of deaf people in mind. To that end, the Scouter model has been designed for both groups." He then handed all the Pokédexes to their new owners. "All you need to do is point and click in the direction of the Pokémon you wish to know about. In your case, Cinder, it's fully automatic for Pokémon you haven't encountered before."

Cinder placed the Pokédex on her left ear and turned it on, and immediately it lit up with entries for the four Pokémon in the room.

"Pichu, the Tiny Mouse Pokémon. An Electric Type.

Ability: Static

Hidden Ability: Lightning Rod

Entry: This Pokémon is inept at storing electricity, and may discharge when amused or startled. It cannot discharge without being shocked itself however."

Pichu frowned at his entry. Sure, it was true, but whoever wrote it didn't have to be so rude about it.

"Bulbasaur, the Seed Pokémon. A Grass/Poison Type.

Ability: Overgrow

Hidden Ability: Chlorophyll

Entry: This Starter Pokémon possesses a plant bulb on its back that contains extra nutrients, and provides energy via photosynthesis. It's often found napping in the sunlight."

Bulbasaur nodded in agreement. A good nap on a sunny day is both very refreshing and energizing, especially for most Grass Types.

"Charmander, the Lizard Pokémon. A Fire Type.

Ability: Blaze

Hidden Ability: Solar Power

Entry: This Starter Pokémon has a flame on its tail that becomes stronger when it's in good health and in a good mood, which is powerful enough to burn underwater. It will die if its flame goes out."

Charmander proved the Pokédex right by simply causing his flame to grow when he laughed.

"Squirtle, the Tiny Turtle Pokémon. A Water Type.

Ability: Torrent

Hidden Ability: Rain Dish

Entry: This Starter Pokémon's body is encased within a shell that forms and hardens after birth, which it uses for protection and to reduce water resistance when it swims. When it sleeps, it always retreats into its shell."

Squirtle nodded in agreement as well. It's just a smart move to make sure you're as safe as possible when you sleep.

Cinder gave the Professor a polite bow. "Thank you, Professor Oak." She then frowned a bit. "Wait, how is this made for deaf people in mind as well?"

The older man simply shrugged. "Subtitles."

Damian then simply returned Charmander to its Pokéball and left. "Good luck, losers. You're gonna need it when you face me."

Gary also returned his Pokémon. "If we're done here, I'd like to go ahead and start my journey now. My cheerleaders are waiting for me in the car."

Cinder raised her eyebrow as Gary left. "Cheerleaders? A car? How did he even get a car?"

The Professor gave a nervous chuckle. He didn't want people to find out that they can easily ask him for things when he's distracted by his work.

Leaf then returned Bulbasaur after playing with him. "Well, I guess I should be going too then. Thank you Professor Oak!"

Cinder then faced the Professor. "Hey Professor Oak, I think I'll go too. I promised my mom I'd come back home before I start my journey."

Professor Oak called out to the girls before they left. "Take care of yourselves, and don't forget to keep in touch!"

"We will!" Both girls answered before heading to the exit.

When they came close to the door, Leaf couldn't help but ask something. "Do you think he was bluffing about the car and cheerleaders?"

When they opened the door, they were immediately greeted by a cheering crowd surrounding 5 cheerleaders, who were standing next to a flashy red convertible. "Let's go Gary, let's go, yeah yeah!" The cheerleaders chanted.

Daisy Oak, Gary's older sister and Professor Oak's assistant, was also in the crowd, facepalming at her little brother's behavior. "Oh brother."

"Thank you, fans! Thank you all for this great honor!" Gary started. "I promise you that I will become a Pokémon Master, and make Pallet Town known all around the world!"

The crowd started cheering even louder at this, though Daisy couldn't help but give a little bit of snark at Gary. "Pallet Town is already known around the world, Dingus." She said with a roll of the eyes. "Dad and Grampa made sure of that already, wittle babwy bwother."

Gary simply ignored his sister and stepped in the car with the cheerleaders, looking back at the crowd while waving. "Thank you for coming out to see history in the making! Now I, Gary Oak, am off to learn the ways of the Pokémon trainer!" He said loudly while driving away.

Cinder blinked a few times at the display as the crowd dispersed. "Leaf, never underestimate the arrogance of Gary Oak." Then she simply walked to her own home, leaving a flabbergasted Leaf behind.

"Mom, I'm back!" Cinder called as she and Pichu came home again.

"I'm in the kitchen finishing the dishes sweetie!" Her mother answered back. "Just give me a second!"

Cinder moved to the living room, with Delia coming in as well just as Cinder and Pichu sat down.

"So, what Pokémon did you end up getting?" Delia asked. She knew that her daughter would be happy with any of them, but she was still curious.

"Actually," Cinder started. "It turns out there was a shipping mistake of some kind, and there was just one of each starter left. As there were four of us, I ended up getting Pichu here as my starter." She finished while scratching Pichu under his chin.

Delia smiled, she had a feeling that something like that would happen. Officially or not, Pichu would've always been Cinder's starter. "Alright sweetie, I've already got you a backpack filled with everything you may need for your journey." She then grabbed a green backpack from the table and handed it to her daughter.

"Everything?" Cinder raised a skeptical eyebrow.

"Well, everything I could think of." Delia then started rapidly telling about the contents of the bag. "I've packed an extra pair of sneakers, several sets of clothing, bras, panties, sandwiches for lunch, your favorite snacks, some hot chocolate, a pair of rubber gloves to do your laundry, a new clothesline to hang it out to dry, soap, shampoo, your bathrobe, your toothbrush and toothpaste, camping gear-"

"Okay, I get it mom!" Cinder cut her mother off with a blush.

"And don't forget to change your underwear every day."

"MOM!" Cinder really wanted her mom to stop this conversation.

After a few moments, most of which was just Pichu rolling on the couch in laughter, Delia started to tear up. "Oh Cinder, I'm so proud of you." She wiped a tear from her eye. "You're finally going to fulfill your dream and start your journey." She then started to hug Cinder. "I'm going to miss you so much!"

"I'll miss you too mom." Cinder replied as she hugged her back.

XXXXXXXX

Cinder had just walked a fair distance on Route 1, Pichu riding on her shoulder the entire time, and she's just sat down on the side of the road for a lunch break with her Pokémon. And just as Cinder was halfway through her sandwich did a green wormlike Pokémon enter the range of her Pokédex.

"Caterpie, the Worm Pokémon. A Bug Type.

Ability: Shield Dust

Hidden Ability: Run Away

Entry: This Pokémon has a voracious appetite, which drives it to eat a hundred leafs a day. It releases a horrid stench from its antenna to repel predators."

Cinder blinked and smiled. "Hey Caterpie, are you hungry?"

"Pi!" Caterpie nodded eagerly. He'd just gotten chased away from his favorite part of the forest by a bunch of angry Spearow, and hadn't gotten to eat anything yet today.

Cinder then grabbed some Pokémon food and handed it to Caterpie, who began to eagerly eat it. After a few minutes, Cinder wanted to ask Caterpie something. "Hey Caterpie?"

Caterpie looked up from his now finished meal. "Cater?"

"Would you like to travel with me?" Cinder held out one of her Luxury Balls, giving the Bug Type the option to willingly travel with her.

"Ca!" Caterpie nodded eagerly and pressed the button with his nose, causing him to get sucked in and captured instantaneously.

Cinder grinned and tossed the Luxury Ball, letting Caterpie out again. "Welcome to the team Caterpie!"

As Caterpie was cheering about his new friends, a few small bird Pokémon flew by, activating Cinder's Pokédex once more.

"Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. A Normal/Flying Type.

Abilities: Keen Eye and Tangled Feet

Hidden Ability: Big Pecks

Entry: This Pokémon has an extremely sharp sense of direction and homing instincts, and can locate its nest even when far removed from familiar surroundings. It can flap its wings rapidly to create dust clouds and whirlwinds to protect itself and flush out potential prey."

After the Pidgey's came and went, a small pack of purple rat Pokémon ran by in a frenzy.

"Rattata, the Mouse Pokémon. A Normal Type.

Abilities: Run Away and Guts

Hidden Ability: Hustle

Entry: This Pokémon can live wherever it can find food, and it can eat nearly anything thanks to its sharp fangs. It can deliver a powerful bite when it is threatened."

Strangely though, their calls were panicked, as if they were flying and running away from something. "Guys, I think something's coming, and I don't think we're gonna like it."

Suddenly, another small bird appeared, one different from the Pidgey before it.

"Spearow, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. A Normal/Flying Type.

Ability: Keen Eye

Hidden Ability: Sniper

Entry: This Pokémon is inept at most aspects of flying such as height and distance, but it is still capable of flying quickly to protect its territory by flapping its wings at high speeds to stay aloft. Its loud and angry shrieks can be heard over a kilometer away."

The Spearow, already ticked off from earlier that day, glanced at the insulting device, and the girl who was wearing it. He became even angrier upon seeing one of the Caterpie that his flock drove away earlier riding on one of her shoulders. In Spearow's mind, there was only one logical course of action "Spearow!" He started dive bombing, intending to attack the girl and her Pokémon.

While Caterpie froze in fear of one of his tormentors, Pichu took action and shot a Thunder Shock at the attacking bird. "Pi!" He winced at the knockback caused by his own electricity.

Spearow fell down before he could've reached Cinder, in pain from the super effective attack. "Row…"

Cinder sighed in relief. "Phew. Thanks Pichu, you're a lifesaver."

Spearow wasn't done however, and started giving an example of why the cries of his species can be heard over a kilometer away. "Spearow!" His call for help was answered by his not-so modest flock.

"Uh-oh." Cinder stated. "Run!" She wordlessly recalled Caterpie, let Pichu onto her shoulder and started running away as fast as she could. Unfortunately, after a few moments of running, she tripped over a rock, causing Pichu to fly from her shoulder just as the Spearow reached the duo.

"Pichu!" The little mouse yelled, both in surprise and in worry as the Spearow attacked both him and his trainer.

If Cinder could still see, she'd be seeing red right now. "Leave him alone!" She started getting up again, fighting against both the pain and the Spearow, who she started whacking with her cane. When she managed to reach Pichu she quickly picked him up and started running again.

Unfortunately, she had no way of seeing that she was about to run off of a cliff, which she subsequently did. Thankfully though a river broke her fall as it dragged her even further away from the Spearow.

XXXXXXXX

A young girl was simply fishing by the river of Route 1, bored out of her mind. Her name, Misty Waterflower, a Water Type specialist from Cerulean City.

Suddenly, the water around her lure started bubbling, just before something tugged down on it with great force. "Oh, wow, this could be a big one!" Then she started tugging even harder, pulling another girl out of the river. "Aww, it's just some kid. Oh, and a Pokémon!" She then stepped to the kid. "Are you okay?"

Cinder then started coughing up what little water got into her lungs. "Yea, we're-" She then coughed again, her body not fully recovered from the minor drowning.

"Not you!" Misty punched her on the shoulder. "Look what you've done to that poor little thing!"

Cinder couldn't help but get defensive. "Hey, we were just attacked by a flock of angry Spearow!" She yelled in the other girl's face before taking a breath. "Look, Pichu needs medical attention. Do you know where the nearest Pokémon Center is?"

Misty huffed. "That way." She pointed in the direction of Viridian City.

Just then, the flock of Spearow cried out again and, much to Cinder's horror, started coming closer. "Gotta go!" She then proceeded to run into the direction of Viridian City, though she did accidentally knock into something, causing it to fall over.

"My bike!" Misty exclaimed.

Cinder kept running, and yelled over her shoulder. "Sorry!" What Cinder didn't notice though, was that the bike started sliding downwards and into the river.

"Grrr!" Misty seethed as Cinder disappeared from view, and hoped for the other girl's sake that her bike would still be in good condition when she got it out of the river.

XXXXXXXX

Cinder was running, not just for her own life, but for the life of Pichu. No words were said for a while after leaving the angry girl that fished her out of the river, Cinder simply focusing on getting to Viridian City as soon as possible. She didn't even notice the clap of thunder, and the rainfall that followed was barely noticed.

It didn't matter too much anyway, she was already soaked from her unintended swimming trip.

Just then, the Spearow managed to catch up and attack the duo again, causing Cinder to fall over and drop Pichu.

She crawled up to her Pokémon as the Spearow were circling around for another round of attack, and pulled out a very specific Luxury Ball. "Pichu, you need to get inside." Cinder made the Ball grow, and set it down next to her wounded Pokémon. "I know you hate it, but at least you'll be safe."

"Pi." Pichu weakly shook his head. He would never leave her alone, especially when she was in danger.

Cinder then stood up and turned around, facing the Spearow. "I am Cinder Ketchum, and I will not let any of you hurt my Pokémon!" She then glanced back for a moment. "Go inside the Pokéball Pichu, it's the only way!" She then turned to the Spearow again. "Come and get me you bastards!" She yelled as thunder struck once more, and the hostile Pokémon started dive bombing once more.

Pichu couldn't let this happen. He wouldn't let this happen. Cinder had already risked her life for him once and got hurt badly, and he refused to let it happen again.

For a moment, time seemed to freeze for Pichu as his body momentarily turned into energy as he ran towards his partner, growing larger as he transformed. When he managed to climb on Cinder's back, Pikachu jumped from her shoulder and unleashed the biggest Thunder Shock, no, Thunder Bolt he'd ever made, hitting all the Spearow at once. "PI-KA-CHUUUUU!"

Then, everything went black, Pikachu getting knocked out by exhaustion, Cinder accidentally getting caught in the tail end of the blast, and the Spearow all being knocked out by the sheer power of the super effective attack.

XXXXXXXX

Cinder was the first to regain consciousness, waking up to the feeling of sunlight on her skin and static in her ear. When she used her aura, she could immediately tell that she was surrounded by several knocked out bird Pokémon, and a Pokémon who's shape was unfamiliar, but who's aura was unforgettable.

When she turned her Pokédex back on, her suspicions on what happened were immediately confirmed.

"Pikachu, the Mouse Pokémon and the evolved form of Pichu. An Electric Type.

Ability: Static

Hidden Ability: Lightning Rod

Entry: This Pokémon recharges itself during its sleep by allowing lightning to hit its raised tail, and it tends to cause lightning storms when gathered in large groups. It often raises its tail to check its surroundings, which causes more lightning strikes.

Evolves from: Pichu with a strong bond"

Cinder smiled, knowing Pikachu wanted to be a Pikachu for a while, but that he just didn't find the right time to evolve before now. She then picked Pikachu up, which was enough to jolt him awake again. "Well, we beat them." Before she headed out to Viridian City again, she heard a loud cry, and looked at the sky to see a large bird Pokémon with a powerful aura.

Pikachu saw it as well, the majestic creature flying through a rainbow while glowing with the power of a rainbow itself. He also noticed a feather falling from it, which he quickly grabbed and put into his trainer's jacket just as the Pokédex activated again.

"Ho-Oh, the Rainbow Pokémon and a member of the Tower Duo. A Fire/Flying Type.

Ability: Pressure

Hidden Ability: Regenerator

Entry: This Legendary Pokémon creates bright, colorful rainbows with its huge wings as it flies, and the few that bear witness to it are promised eternal happiness. It has the power to resurrect the dead, and flies through the world's skies in search of a trainer with a pure heart. It's known as the Guardian of the Skies."

Cinder couldn't believe it, a Legendary Pokémon. Ho-Oh, the sibling species of Lugia, with one famously once residing on top of the Bell Tower in Johto. Part of her was so in awe of what just happened that she almost forgot about Pikachu's condition. Almost.

When she shook herself out of her thoughts, she headed to Viridian City once more. 'Pikachu's health now, shock and awe later.' In the back of her head though, Cinder knew something. If today was any indication, especially with Ho-Oh's appearance, she knew that her journey was going to be filled with many dangers and joyful times alike. And while she didn't know if she was ready for what was ahead, she knew that she was going to face all trials head on.

Well, that's the first episode done, and Pichu evolved into Pikachu to save Cinder. And Caterpie has been caught early as well.

And before people ask why I destroyed Misty's bike this way, it's because I couldn't think of a way for a blind Cinder to take it. After all, what use is a bike if you can't use it. This seemed like the easiest solution to handle that little problem.
