Nightfall

Madison grimaced on hearing the familiar chime from her flip phone. She looked up from the counter to exchange a frustrated look with the others. Was it too much to ask for just one week with no monster attacks?

"Let's go, sis!" Vida yelled as she and the others rushed out of the doors.

"Hey, where are you guys going?" Toby asked, peeking from his office.

"Lunch break?" Madison shrugged, quickly exiting the store. If they had any other boss, they would have been fired by now.

They arrived at the battle scene, a small village in the forest, only to see villagers fleeing the scene as their homes were ravaged by a small army of hidiacs led by Bandora and a familiar figure in purple armour.

"Guess who's back, rangers?" Bandora smirked at them.

"Koragg!" Nick muttered.

"Rangers, you shall fall by my sword!" The knight said.

"So let me get this straight, dude. You come back from the dead to work for the gal who killed you?" Xander raised an eyebrow.

"Your feeble attempts at manipulation amuse me, green wizard. I owe everything to my queen." The knight laughed, his visor glowing crimson.

"She will destroy you the moment you outlive your usefulness, you idiot." Ryan said.

"Enough!" Bandora rolled her eyes. "Koragg, destroy them!"

"As you command, my queen." He said, pointing his sword at them. "Hidiacs, attack!"

As the foul creatures charged at them, the rangers flipped open their morphers and Ryan pressed his own.

"Magical Source, Mystic Force!"

"Titanium Power!"

In a flash of coloured lights, they donned their armour and met the forces of darkness in battle.

"Magi Staff, Sword Mode!" Nick leapt at Koragg with his sword, which the knight blocked with his shield, before giving a shove, pushing Nick back.

"Wolf Attack!" Silver wolf spirits leapt out from the crimson eye in the center of his shield, clawing at the red ranger, who tried to parry the attack with his sword but was slammed backwards as the spirits exploded. He hit the ground hard, sparks flying across his suit.

"Our duel ends today, red ranger!" He snarled, raising his sword and slowly yet menacingly approaching the red ranger, who struggled to stand even with the support of his staff.

"Nick!" Neil yelled, swinging his staff, and letting loose an icy wave that froze the hidiacs surrounding him. He snapped his fingers and they promptly shattered into fractals of ice.

"Magi Staff, Frost Bow!" He shouted, the M shaped handle of his staff expanding till it became the limbs of a bow with the snowflake hilt taking its place in the center. A white string connected the two ends while the blade portion of the staff detached and thinned out to become an arrow.

Remembering the archery lessons, he had attended with Chip, he held the bow out in front of his torso, notching the arrow and drawing the bowstring back, taking aim at the purple knight before releasing the arrow with a loud snap of the bowstring. The enchanted arrow shot through the air, glowing in ethereal white energy as it replicated into six copies before hitting the knight. Despite trying to block the arrows with his shield, four of them struck Koragg, the ice magic freezing him in place before culminating in an explosion that sent him flying back.

"You, okay?" He ran up to his leader, helping him up.

"Now I am." Nick nodded. "Thanks for the save."

"No problem." Neil said as they saw Koragg hit the ground with a thud, his armour scorched, seconds before bubbles of black energy covered the knight, rejuvenating him.

Koragg laughed, standing up and charging at them.

The white ranger did not waste any time shooting arrows at the knight, which he deflected with his sword. Nick jumped in front of him, swinging his sword and unleashing a wave of fire that halted the knight in place.

"Admirable effort, young mystics but your magic is no match for my dark powers!" He hollered, unleashing a wave of purple energy from his shield that dispelled the flames and pushed the two rangers back.

"Magi Staff, Trident Mode!" The ends of the staff extended, the M shaped handle inverted and blades protruded from the two as well as the top of the mystic emblem, giving her staff the visage of a trident. She swung it, striking the hidiacs encroaching on her before slamming it on the ground and summoning a tidal wave that swept up the remaining soldiers.

"Magi Staff, Axe Mode!"

The green and titanium rangers slashed through the hordes of the hidiacs with their axes while the yellow ranger did the same with his staff.

"Magi Staff, Crossbow Mode!"

"Titanium Laser!" Ryan turned his axe into blaster mode, nodding at Chip as they fired at the hidiacs, destroying whatever remained of the army.

Vida ducked a blast of dark magic from Bandora before retaliating with a bolt of pink energy from her staff.

"Is that all you got?" The dark witch laughed.

"Hardly." Vida scoffed.

"Magi Staff, Tornado Hammer!" Pink light washed over the staff, transfiguring it into a sledgehammer. She threw the hammer at Bandora, who swiftly erected a forcefield, only to be shocked as the hammer shattered it and smashed against her. Bandora screeched in pain, falling to the ground while the hammer flew back to Vida's outstretched hands.

"You will pay for this, wrench!" The witch fumed, getting up and thrusting her hands at the ranger. Tendrils of dark energy shot from her fingertips and headed towards her, only for golden lasers and yellow lightning bolts to cut through them before it hit Vida.

"Give up, Bandora." The Saffron Sentinel shook her head, appearing beside the pink ranger with her thunder bow in hand.

"You are outmatched, dark witch." Daggeron agreed, coming up on Vida's other side, aiming his Solaris Lamp at her.

"Hypocrites!" Bandora spat. "You claim to be forces of light yet you shelter the queen of the demonic beings amongst your ranks."

"Vida might be a vampire but her heart is good. Unlike you, she has a soul." Lena said.

"Semantics." The witch said, before smirking. "Where is your precious Gatekeeper and her knight?"

"Somewhere you can't reach." Lena snapped.

"Not yet, but mark my words, today you will fall and your worlds will be mine." She warned, before disappearing in a swirl of purple smoke and reappearing beside Koragg.

The rangers gathered around Nick and Neil, facing the two villains.

"Your forces are destroyed and you are clearly outmatched." Daggeron pointed out.

Bandora smirked and Koragg laughed.

The rangers felt a sudden unease as the skies darkened immediately and the moon shone brightly before being eclipsed by a dark fog. Distant howls reached their ears as shadows crept out of the woods, and took form behind Koragg.

"Awaken, my legion!" His voice boomed menacingly as an army of wolflike creatures solidified behind the knight.

"Werewolves, again?" Vida asked. "We defeated one before."

"Not before it snapped your mighty leader's neck. If one of them can wreck such havoc, imagine what an army of them can do. Besides, they are not just werewolves…" Bandora's lips twisted into a dangerous smile.

Ryan's eyes widened on recognizing the creatures, their disfigured forms, elongated talons, and large canines.

"You didn't…" He gasped.

"I did." The witch laughed.

"Their powers can't be controlled. You have no idea what you have unleashed." Ryan said, his voice betraying the sheer terror he felt.

"What's so scary about these whack jobs?" Xander asked.

"They are demons." Lena said, sensing the waves of evil energies emanating from the creatures.

"Not just any demon. These are Shadow Orgs of the highest order… Wolfblades." Ryan seethed, his grip tightening on his blaster. "We cannot hold back on these beasts."

"I am impressed but I suppose like recognizes like." Bandora smirked. "You might wear the armour of a ranger but your soul reeks of demon stench."

Ryan didn't reply, still unable to look away from the wolf beasts. He felt Nick place a hand on his shoulder.

"Don't worry, we got this, Ryan." He assured.

The veteran ranger said nothing. The others looked at each other warily. They had never seen Ryan act so unnerved before.

"Enough chatter!" Koragg growled, pointing his sword at the rangers. "ATTACK!"

It has been a while since I wrote anything with the mystics. It was fun getting back to their story and I hope you guys enjoyed reading it.

Also, my friend Vikung-fu wrote an amazing story inspired by this one called "Wolf War Gaiden", which you guys should definitely check out, especially if you are fans of Merrick and Zen-Aku.
