In my opinion, The Gathering had a very Lutheran Protestant message when the younglings searched for their crystals. In this story, they are introduced to Martin Luther's "GRACE ALONE, FAITH ALONE" philosophy and each of them starts to learn how they stumbled upon their crystals by grace, and not human effort. Contains Lutheran content.
