John is dealing with the aftermath of the Fall. Sort of. He finds himself becoming less and less inclined to live to see the new sunrise. By an incredible happenstance, he finds an old wooden box filled with handwritten letters, some dated from over two decades ago, and one on the day Sherlock jumped. Things change, and John becomes curious about the recipient.

Sherlock's disgruntled reaction to a story in the press causes John to reflect. [oneshot]
