Telling a Story

Note #1: This is a rewrite of my original Swan Lake story because I think you'll all like this one better.

Note #2: Like my Nutcracker story, this story is separate from Journey to the Past and Future.

Note #3: This is my second favorite Barbie Movie.

(Abigail's POV)

*It was a starry summer night. Lacey & I were holding lanterns as we went to one of the cabins to check on the campers. We were counselors at this summer camp. We went inside & saw all the kids fast asleep in their bunk beds. But, we noticed one of the bunk beds empty. We looked outside & saw Rory & Snaggle (a brown male bear with blue eyes, a wheat colored muzzle, & wearing blue shorts & a bole colored male tiger with light blue eyes, buck teeth, a wheat colored muzzle, & wearing a blue vest & white gloves), sitting on the back steps of the cabin. We went outside & joined them*

Abigail: What's wrong, boys?

Rory: We can't sleep.

Snaggle: Yeah, the beds are all bumpy.

Lacey: I remember our first sleep away camp. It takes a take it two together used to things

Snaggle: I'll never get used to it.

Rory: Me neither.

Abigail: But you two were looking forward to race day tomorrow. You're part of the team.

Rory: Somebody else can run for us.

Lacey: I wouldn't be the same without you guys. We'd really miss you.

Snaggle: I just wanna go home.

Rory: Me too.

*I thought for a moment & then looked up at the sky*

Abigail: Look over there. Do you see big stars and four little ones in a row?

Rory: Sort of.

Lacey: That's the constellation Cygnus. It's a swan. Imagine the four stars are the long neck, the big stars are the body, and running crosswise, those stars are the wings.

Rory: I see it!

Snaggle: Me too!

Abigail: Did you know there was one a boy who turned into a swan?

Rory: He did?

Snaggle: How?

Abigail: His name was Sonic.

(Third-Person POV)

*The sky turned to day & a village appears in a valley*

Abigail:*off-screen* He worked in the family bakery with his brother and his Mother.

Snaggle:*off-screen* But you said he was a swan.

Lacey:*off-screen**giggle* Not at first.

*One of the buildings had a sign that marked the bakery. Two children looked into the window as a cobalt blue male hedgehog with green eyes, peach skin, & wearing a light blue tunic over a white shirt, a blue belt, light brown pants, & brown boots (look up "Peasant Sam" by "LunimeGames" on "DeviantArt") placed a pie in it. He waved to the children with a smile, picked up a plate of cinnamon rolls & started dancing. He twirled around the room as he put the rolls down on a table. Just then, a lavender female hedgehog with blonde hair, blue eyes, peach skin, & wearing a white handkerchief over her quills, a blue bodice over a white shirt, a white apron over a red skirt, & brown boots (look up "Peach - Snow White (Bodice Dress)" by "Katlime" on "DeviantArt") came into the room, holding a plate of cookies. He immediately stopped dancing when he saw her*

Sonic: Oh, Mom.

*He took the plate from her & felt embarrassed. While most boys his age were into hunting & horseback riding, he loved to dance. But he was scared to do it in public because he afraid of being teased*

Bernadette: Sonic, you're a wonderful dancer. You should go to the village dances with your brother.

Sonic: And have everybody stare at me? I . . . I couldn't.

Bernadette: Oh, but you'd have fun and - *just then, she smelt something burning* Oh, the corn bread! *Sonic picked up one of the cookies from the tray & got ready to eat it* Sugar cookies, your favorite.

Rory:*off-screen* Make it chocolate chip.

Snaggle:*off-screen* Yeah, that's our favorite.

Abigail:*off-screen* Okay.

*Sonic took a bite of the cookie in his hand*

Sonic: Hmm . . . Chocolate chip. *he went over to her & wiped her cheek* You work too hard, Mom.

Bernadette: What can I do? You and Shadow keep eating all the inventory.

*Then he looked out a window & saw a black male hedgehog with red stripes, red eyes, tan skin, & wearing a dark brown jacket over a white shirt, dark green pants, & brown boots (look up "(CLOSED) ADOPTABLE / Fantasy Outfit #35" by "Rosariy" on "DeviantArt"), riding a black horse. The horse jumped over a bush & rode into the village. Sonic met the hedgehog outside with a brown bag*

Sonic: Any faster and you'll be flying!

Shadow: That's the idea! Come on. I'm heading out again. You'll love it.

Sonic: Uh . . . Thank, but -

*The horse up, making Sonic flinch*

Shadow: No thank, right?

Sonic: Right. *he handed Shadow the bag* Thought you might want breakfast, Shadow.

*Shadow opened the bag*

Shadow: Apple muffin. Juice. You're gold, Sonic. *he turned his horse around* I'll be back to help soon!

*He rode his horse out of the village. Bernadette came out of the bakery*

Bernadette: Was that your brother?

Sonic: Here and gone, Mom. Flying like the wind.

*A blue bird watching from a branch flew towards a nearby castle. It landed on a barrel of hay with a target on it in the garden. Just then, an arrow flew in & hit the bullseye. The one who shot the arrow was a brown female chipmunk with auburn hair, blue eyes, a light brown muzzle, & wearing a red cape over a blue tunic which was over a white long sleeved shirt, a brown belt, tan pants, & brown boots (look up "Peach - Snow White (Riding Clothes)" by "Katlime" on "DeviantArt"). Next to her was a light orange-blonde female rabbit with blue eyes, a white muzzle, & wearing a light blue vest over magenta long sleeves shirt, a brown belt, lavender tights, & brown boots (look up "Peach - Zelda (Cartoon)" by "Katlime" on "DeviantArt")*

Bunnie: Okay. But can you make it four for four.

Sally: What do you say I hit that top sack over there?

*Bunnie laughed*

Bunnie: All the way over there!? *the sack was in a cart on the far side of the garden* Are you kidding? It's impossible.

Sally: Ha! My favorite word.

*She aimed her arrow at the sack & released it. It went flying past a fountain, through an arm opening in a statue, & hit the sack*

Bunnie: Amazing. Amazing, Sally-Girl.

Sally: Thank you, Bunnie.

*Then, a brown male squirrel with auburn hair, blue eyes, a auburn mustache & wearing a gold crown, a red cape over a blue royal uniform with a red sash over it (look up "Nigel Acorn" on "Sonic Zone Wiki") came out of the castle, carrying a stack of envelopes. Just then, the arrow ripped a hole in the bag, causing the grain inside to spill all over his sleeve jacket*

King Nigel: Oh my! *he turned to the girls with a glare* Hmph.

*Sally nervously gave her bow to Bunnie & ran up to the squirrel*

Sally: Daddy! Sorry.

*Nigel wiped the grain off his sleeve*

Nigel: More target practice? * he held up the invitations* I came to give you these. They're all responses from Princes coming to the Royal Ball. *Sally sighed. not this again* Eligible Princes. You need to pick a husband.

Sally: But -

King Nigel: I'm tired, dear. Soon, you'll take over the throne. I want to spend my golden years spoiling my grandchildren.

Sally: Daddy, you know I'll marry someday. But first I want to do so much. Explore. Travel.

King Nigel: And so you shall. After my grandchildren.
