Unnatural, But Not Unwanted

*Asterisk is sound effects*

"This is normal speaking regardless of poke speak."

Flashing lights, noises, and sensations flittered past. "What?" Colors shift and change slowly, gradually almost. "What's happening?" Sounds rushed around bringing different emotions with them, and just as quickly taking them away. "Where am I? Please, somebody help me!" After what could have been a few minutes, or an eternity, her world seemed to calm down. Everything became more consistent. The lights only swayed ever so slightly. The sounds became quieter, and the colors consistent, no longer moving. As her vision cleared, she found herself sprawled on the ground. She was damp and groggy, but otherwise not in pain... if you don't count the massive headache she was sporting.

"Uuuuugh, wha?" She looked around to find that she was in the middle of a heavily wooded area. "Why... am I outside?" She attempted to right herself and managed a sitting position. *CRACK* "huh?" She looked down to see what she had sat on, only to make several new discoveries. She stared down at her body to see yellowish fur with four similarly colored legs. Underneath her looked to be the remnants of a large egg. "Did I come out of that? Is that why I'm wet?" She looked behind herself to see a yellow tail with a red tip attached to her backside. "This doesn't seem right, but why would that be?" She took a moment to gather her strength and pushed herself up onto her feet. All four of them. "I don't think that I should be walking like this, but it seems like I'm built to do it like this." She takes a deep breath and huffs "Ok I need to find out where I am so I can get back to... Back to where?". The confusion only increased as she took a few exploratory steps, finding walking to be rather easy. "My mind is saying that this is wrong, but my body says it's natural. I wish that they would agree so this pounding in my skull would stop."

Gingerly making her way through the bushes and trees of the woods she heads off in a random direction. "I don't know where I'm going, but I can't just sit and do nothing." She inhaled deeply, only now realizing how many different scents were around her. Her nose locked onto one and she started to follow it. "Ooo, that smells nice." A few minutes of walking led her to a short bush sporting a couple berries. Her mouth instinctively watered at the idea of food, and so she stood up on her hindlegs using the bush to support her front. Gently stretching her neck up and grabbing one. A few hard tugs and it was loose. She took a moment to admire it, light pink with a green sprout on top. She didn't waste much time and devoured it. "Mmm, sho shweet." she mumbled through the mouthful. Finishing it off she quickly grabbed another and ate it with more ferocity than the first. Licking her chops see looked around to see if anything new would catch her eye. Nothing but trees, tall grass, and bushes. "Man, its such a strange feeling, like I'm at home yet in an unknown territory." Her ears twitched and she listened closely. The sound of water splashing could be heard off through the trees. "I could use a drink." Minutes pass and she finds a small creek gently babbling away. Leaning down she sipped away at the water feeling an urge to lap at it with her tongue, but that didn't seem right.

*sploosh* hearing a small splash in the water she turned downstream. She could see something moving in the water before it surfaced. It had a round blue head and a dark brown shell. The creature watched her silently as she slowly walked down the creek bank towards it. "Whoa, what are you." She asked in a hushed tone. The creature frowned at her before speaking with a male voice. "What kind of dumb question is that? I'm a Squirtle dumbass." She blinked not really expecting that kind of response. "Well, I'm sorry I didn't know that you jerk, that's why I asked." She snapped back. A moment of silence passed as the now named Squirtle stared at her quizzically. "You newly hatched or somethin'?" asked the Squirtle. She paused for a moment remembering the eggshell before nodding. "Ain't no way you're a newly hatched. You're way to frickin huge!" He exclaimed crawling out of the water next to her. "Like seriously, you are twice the size of any Fennekin I've ever seen. I mean dang, what have you been eating!?" She looked behind herself to look at her body. "Really? I don't seem to be that big." The Squirtle crawled beside her on all fours and lined their heads up. "Yeah, look we should be almost the same size, but you are literally double my size." She compared herself to him and could easily see he was right. Not counting their tails, she was double his length. "Wow." Was all she could say. "Woof, I'd hate to see how big you are when you evolve." Commented the Squirtle. "Wait wait wait, hold on just a second. What do you mean evolve, like what I'll change into something like you?" "Pfft no. Jeez you really know nothing do you. Look this is how it works." He spent the next hour explaining to her how evolution worked amongst the different typing's of Pokémon, which is what they were apparently, along with humans who would catch them for various reasons.

"I feel like my heads going to explode." She whined. "Yeah, well I'm gonna get goin' so have fun digesting all that hehehe." The Squirtle teased as he slunk back into the creek and swam off. All the information she took in sounded somewhat familiar, but she couldn't place it. "So, I need to watch out for humans unless I want to get caught. It doesn't seem that bad. Free food and a warm bed. Maybe a new friend or partner."

Over the course of a few weeks Fennekin would wander around the woods and do whatever she felt like. Fight a few other Pokémon here, eat some berries there, sleep wherever she felt like crashing for the night. Honestly it is a real stress-free life, but she's not quite sure what she's comparing it too. One day while slowly meandering her way through an area she hadn't explored before she smelled something new. "It smells like… something tasty, rich, and smoky." She picked up the pace and trotted along towards the new scent. Eventually she found her way to a clearing wear a house sat. "How do I know what a house looks like?" She thought. Outside of it sat a small patio wear a few chairs and a table sat. A few feet away from that stood a grill with smoke rising off it. "That's where the smell is coming from, but I think I'm forgetting something." *squeak* *slam* she lowered herself into the tall grass just outside of the clearing watching. "A human." A young adult male sauntered to the grill carrying an empty plate. He seemed tall, but scrawny. Black short hair and hazel eyes with dark bags underneath, likely from lack of sleep.

"*yawn* ugh I need to stop staying up so late finishing those orders. Not like they're going anywhere, and the deadline isn't for another week." The young man complained quietly to himself, but thanks to her large ears she heard him just fine. "Well Andrew, at least the food is ready so that's one last thing ticked off your list." He commented taking what looks to be sausages off the grill before closing the top and heading back inside. "Andrew huh? That's a rather average name. Wait. What's my name? I've been doing jack shit for weeks and only now realized I don't have a name?" She shakes her head and slowly walks towards to porch of the house keeping herself as low as she can. Once up there she slowly peers through a window to the left of the door into the living room. A couch with its back to the door sat in the middle of the room. On the wall was a large flat screen. From this angle she could also see a coffee table. More things she knows but doesn't know how she does. She moves over to the window to the right of the door and sees a dining room table in front of a kitchen where the man is making himself a plate. Across the table is nothing but different computer parts, cords, and other bits and pieces of electrical devices. She ducks down almost out of view when the man turns and walks out of the kitchen into the living room. Quickly moving back to the first window she watches as he walks into a door down the hallway past the living room. "Well, this is a good chance to get inside and get some of that food." She moves over to the door and reaches up. She can just barely reach the knob and pulls down with her paw. The door opens slightly giving her a crack to push open. Before stepping in she stops and looks down at the door mat she's standing on. After a second of thinking she wipes her paws on it before heading inside. Slowly closing the door with her body, she slinks into the kitchen. "Here we are" she says in a low tone. A quick hop on she's on the countertop next to the stove. "let's see here, oh sausages and french fries. *groan* How do I know this?" dragging a small paw across her face she sighs. Turning to her right she opens a cabinet to see stacks of dishes. Grabbing a plate with her teeth she sets it on the counter and puts herself a few sausages along with a small mound of fries. "Perfect." She grabs the plate with her mouth again and gingerly hops to the floor before walking into the living room and placing it on the coffee table. "Can't eat this without something to watch." She reaches for the remote with her paw before stopping. "What the hell am I talking about? I'm trying to sneak some food why would I stop to watch television?" Another headache for sure. She sighed before taking a bite of sausage. It was good but it was missing something. She walked back to the kitchen and used her mouth the open the fridge. "Where is th- Oh here it is!" she murmured before grabbing a yellow bottle. "Mustard~" carrying the bottle in her mouth she wandered back to her plate. Setting it down she placed it between her paws and used her teeth to pop it open. After spraying some on her plate she took it back to the fridge before sitting down to eat. "You know what? I am going to watch some tv." Putting the remote on the floor between her legs she pushed the button to turn it on while rapidly pushing down on the volume button. The tv came on but by the time it was booted up it was silent. Quickly flipping through some channels while munching on fries she stopped on a channel showing computer repair. "Ugh, these companies always advertise their repair shops when they can hardly tell the difference between the on button and the rest of the keys. Ya know what I'm not even gonna question how I know this." She munched on her food while mentally criticizing the show. Once she finished, she carried her plate back to the kitchen. A small jump onto the other counter next to the sink she was met with an unwelcome surprise. A pile of dirty dishes the looks like has been accumulating for at least a week or two by the smell. "Are you serious? Clean them as you dirty them, and you won't end up with this mess!" she barked as she turned on the hot water. Grumbling and griping she took a scrubber that had soap in it and started cleaning.

Meanwhile in a dimly lit room sits Andrew having already finished his food and setting the plate onto a pile of dishes stacked haphazardly on the floor. The room itself was cluttered with different computers and parts half assed placed in boxes and such. "Alrighty, just a few more turns of the screwdriver aaaand done. Mr. Blithe's laptop is tuned up and ready to return. I'll send a message that I've finished." As he pulled his phone out and typed away, he heard a distant clatter in the house. "The fuck was that." He leaned over to his bed and grabbed a bat leaned against his nightstand. Slowly he opened his door and peeked into the hallway. Nothing yet. Andrew creeped into the living room, pausing to see the tv was on and the remote intentionally place on the floor. *CLANG* He jerked toward the kitchen bat pointed. Walking as quietly as he could he crept to the doorway and peeked in. Much to his shock he could see the backside of a Pokémon the looked like it was messing with the dishes. He watched intently as it not only scrubbed a plate with the scrubber in its mouth, but it also then set the scrubber down and moved the plate under the running water to clean off the soap. Finally, it moved over to the drying rack and started the process again.

Unsure of what to do Andrew pulled out his phone and recorded the wild pokemon as it hammered away at the dirty dishes. "Ahem, hey there little fella." He spoke gently hoping not to scare it. The pokemon paused and slowly turned toward him scrubber still in its mouth. They stared at one another for a few seconds before the pokemon scowled at him. "Uh Oh." The wild Mon spit the scrubber out before stalking across the counter towards him at a fast pace. "FEN FEN FENNEKIN KIN FEN!" Andrew stood there dumbly as the pokemon got right up to his face and seemingly scolded him. "FENNEKIN FEN KIN FEN FEN!" the Mon paused and seemed to be waiting for a response as it stared him down. "What?" he asked meekly. The Mon huffed at him before hopping down and moving behind him. "Fennekin." It said again pushing against his calves with its head herding him into the kitchen. Andrew let himself be pushed as he got to the still running sink. The Mon hopped back onto the counter to which Andrew saw that it was female. "Fen." She said again nodding toward the sink. Looking between her and the sink, he couldn't help but feel confused and asked "Do… Do you want me to do the dishes?" receiving a nod to his question only stupefied him more as he leaned his bat against the cabinet under the sink and grabbed the scrubber to begin cleaning them while keeping his eye on the canine Pokémon on the counter watching him. It only took him about ten minutes to do, but it felt like forever with her eyes never leaving him. He did try to stop at one point to which she threatened him with a small huff of fire. The bat offered small comfort after realizing she was a fire type. Drying his hands on a small towel he spoke to her. "Alrighty they're done now, see? So, you can stop glaring at me please." She only rolled her eyes as she got to the floor walking out of the kitchen. After a moment of hesitation Andrew followed. "Hey little one why don't we head outside ok?" Hoping he could get it out and lock the door behind it, but she only ignored him and walked deeper into the house towards his room. He watched in amazement as she stretched up and turned the knob with both of her paws and letting herself inside. "FENNEKIN!" He jumped a little at the shout before walking to his door and opening it. She was sitting inside glaring at him next to a pile of dirty dishes. "Sigh, you want me to clean them too, don't you?" She gave a small smile and nodded. Another ten minutes later after finishing the second round of dirty dishes he was sitting on his couch facing the Pokémon sitting next to him. Andrew pulled his phone out and pulled up his pokedex app and snapped a picture of her watching him curiously. "A Fennekin huh. Fire type, fast, popular with beauty contestants." When he glanced up at her she seemed to be listening intently. Strange. He's never owned a Pokémon himself, but all that he has meet have never watched him like this. It made him uncomfortable. He went back to reading a synopsis of Fennekins when he noticed something. "Says here that your only supposed to be about a foot long, but you are way bigger than that." When he looked again, she was frowning at him again seemingly agitated. "What?" he asked. She puffed her cheeks out and turned her head away. Was she pouting? Wait. "Are you upset that I said you're bigger than you should be?" she jerked her face toward him and huffed as she thought "Obviously". "Uhh, sorry I guess." She didn't answer him, but he didn't really expect her too. Hearing a chime, they turned to a small wall clock showing how late it was getting. Seeing a way to end this awkward tension he stood up and stretched exaggeratedly. "Oh, well would you look at the time. It's getting late so you should head back to your owner huh?" he asked looking down at her sitting on the couch. She only shook her head in response. What? "You don't want to go home" A headshake. "Do you even have a home or an owner?" Another negative. "So, you're a wild Pokémon?" A nod. "And you understand me perfectly considering you've been answering all of my questions, right?" she gave a small yip in response to that.

"Well in that case would you be kind enough to leave." Andrew half pleaded half asked her. "No way am I leaving now." She thought while shaking her head. "I was able to make you do what I wanted with hardly any cajoling. I think I'll make you my "owner" only in the sense that I live with you." She walked over to the light switch on the wall and flipped it off. Andrew just stared at her from the light of the tv as she walked back to the couch. She climbed back up and curled up while watching the same channel as earlier. He just sighed and walked back to his room. There was no way he could remove her from his house without getting burnt or bitten. "Well in that case goodnight you little brat." Receiving a yip in response he only rolled his eyes as he went into his room and locked his door behind him. If he couldn't convince her to leave tomorrow, then he'll call the Pokémon catchers to have them remove her. He could say this, however she was way smarter than any Pokémon he had interacted with before.

While he was thinking this the Fennekin got herself a bright idea. It was gonna be difficult using her paws and mouth, but she would find a way to communicate better with him. Maybe she could convince him to let her stay of his own free will instead of implied violence if he tried to remove her. She walked off the couch and over to the dismantled electronics on the dining room table. "I don't know how I know, but I don't care anymore. I'll use this knowledge I have to my advantage." She slowly started to piece together different parts as she steadily worked toward her goal.

Morning time

Andrew stepped out of his room and popped his head into the living room. "Hey brat, you still here?" hearing no response he felt a little glee. Maybe she left on her own accord. He kept that small bit of hope until he walked into the kitchen and saw her at the dining room table with a Frankenstein looking electronic sitting in front of her. "Good morning, Andrew." A synthesized voice spoke to him. "We have a lot to talk about so take a seat." he stared at the Fennekin as she gave him a sinister smile on her adorable face. She typed away on the device causing the voice to speak again. "And please don't call me brat. That's not my name."
