Author's Note: Hello there Reader! I appreciate you checking out on this project I'm working on. This story is a collaborative effort between myself and 2 friends and deserve to have as much credit as I do with the ideas and writing. This'll be the first chapter of many and I'm excited to take you guys down this road and read this story.
Now with the Author's note done, Let's begin Dragon Ball Shinsei!
Chapter 1:
Twenty years after the end of Dragon Ball GT, our now grown up warriors Goku Jr. and Vegeta Jr. are currently engaging in a battle against the Dark Namekian Leech. Leech, on the losing end of this fearsome battle, begins to grow furious! He then shouts: "FOOLISH SAIYANS! I WILL HAVE YOUR HEADS!" As Leech leaps forward towards the pair, Dende quickly uses his magic to bind Leech in place. Although struggling to keep him still, he gives it all he's got. "Now's your chance guys! Don't let him slip away again!" Dende said. Vegeta Jr. just scoffs at this and brings his attention back to Leech. "Alright, Leech. It's time you'll be put away for good!" The two saiyans then activate a special technique that requires an equal amount of energy from both participants. Goku Jr. and Vegeta Jr. mimic each others' movements as their ki steadily grows more fierce and sharp. "No…NO! I CANNOT BE SEALED AWAY HERE!" Leech says as he tries to break free from the attack. "You won't be seeing the light of day for a long time now, Leech!" Goku Jr states to the Dark Namekian. Goku Jr. and Vegeta Jr. now at the apex of their synchronized attack, begin the process of sealing Leech away. Goku Jr and Vegeta Jr let out all the energy they have with one final shout "HAAAAAAAAAAAA!" With the attack pretty much finished, Leech has one final thing to say before he's sealed off. "Just you wait, you three! I will come back from this, and I will show you the true meaning of chaos!"
With that statement said, Leech was sealed away and kept in a staff at the foot of the lookout. Dende, breathing a sigh of relief at the situation, "Phew…Thanks you two. If it was just me, I don't think I could've stopped him. I appreciate the hard work" Goku Jr replies to the Guardian of Earth, "No sweat Dende! If there's any danger, you can always count on us. Right Vegeta?" Vegeta Jr looks over to Goku Jr "Hmph. I suppose so. Just so you know, the next time we battle a new foe, I'm getting all the glory, got it?!" Goku Jr. laughs this off "Hahaha! Sure, pal."
Fast forward eighty-one years, we see a new generation of fighters engaging in combat at the 100th World Tournament(or Tenkaichi Budokai, depending on your preference). We now see a much older Goku Jr. accompanied by Vegeta Jr. who are in their early 100's. The tournament is currently in its semi-finals as we look at the newer generation of fighters. The first contender in the arena is a young adult fighter named Letuce. Letuce is a 19 year old Human-Saiyan hybrid with brown spiky hair, and is the grandson to none other than Vegeta Jr himself. His opponent is Oritsu, who is a 20 year old Human-Saiyan hybrid with red shaggy hair, and is praised for his high intellect and quick thinking in a battle. Oritsu quickly goes for a low kick to knock down Letuce, to try and trip him off his feet. However, Letuce sees this coming and quickly jumps over the low kick and proceeds with a kick straight to the chin, launching his adversary up into the sky. Letuce quickly flies up into the air to meet Oritsu's gaze and they clash their attacks. Each punch, each kick, each blast, these 2 warriors pretty much neck and neck.
A finalist emerges from the waiting room and spectates the fight alongside Goku Jr. "Those two are seriously giving it their all this time, huh Grandpa?" says the young warrior. Goku Jr notices him and replies: "Oh, you've finally come out to see the fight, Ryuko?" The young warrior's name is Ryuko. He is the grandson of the renowned martial artist, Goku Jr. Ryuko just remarks: "I got bored with the practice dummies inside. Now I can see the real match here." Ryuko seems to treat this tournament as a sort of training regimen, rather than an actual competition. Ryuko hasn't been able to take anything seriously in this tournament, since he's guaranteed to be in the finals.
Back to our duel between Oritsu and Letuce, Oritsu was knocked back down to the ground and kneeling towards the edge of the ring, trying not to fall off of it. Letuce descends from the sky and approaches Oritsu on the ring. "Alright Oritsu, it's time we settle this match." Letuce tells Oristu. Oritsu quickly bursts out his ki to push Letuce back to the edge of the ring. Oritsu proudly states: "Don't think I'm out of this fight just yet!" and proceeds to charge up to his maximum power. "Now I'm going to show you everything I have, Letuce!" Oritsu then quickly chases down Letuce with his arm pulled back to punch Letuce. Letuce quickly prepares to block the oncoming punch, but Oritsu uses this punch as a feint attack. Letuce thinks to himself: "A feint!? I can't dodge this next attack! I can't block it!" Oritsu now has a fully charged blast in his hand, fires it towards Letuce at point blank range! Oritsu shouts: "CRIMSON CANNON!" The attack is a direct hit onto Letuce!
The smoke clears and Letuce's outfit has been torn up a bit, and his skin is left with scratch marks. "Man, you seriously hit like a truck. But just like you said earlier...Don't think I'm out of this fight just yet" Letuce states back to Oritsu. Letuce then lands a clean kick to Oritsu's jaw, and follows up with a gut punch. Oritsu clenches onto his gut and spits up a bit of blood. Letuce's assault would be finished with one last uppercut, knocking Oritsu down and out of bounds. The announcer then exclaims Letuce as the victor of the fight. Letuce reaches his hand out to help his friend back up after their bout. Oritsu smirks back at Letuce and takes his hand to help himself up. The dirt and rubble would fall off of Oritsu as he dusts his clothes off. Letuce smirks and says: "That was a good fight Oritsu. You really had me on my toes at the end". Oritsu just lightly chuckles and remarks with: "Thanks. Just so you know, the next time we enter a tournament, I'm gonna be the one who will win" Oritsu and Letuce head back to the waiting area for the contenders. "You did a fine job out there you two." says Vegeta Jr. Letuce then retorts with: "Thanks grandpa. But, I don't think I'm done with this tournament just yet. I still have one more to go." After he says that, he looks over towards Ryuko and gives him a prideful smirk. Ryuko does a prideful smirk of his own, seeing he'll finally be let loose and have an actual opponent in the tournament.
Ryuko and Letuce are then called to the arena to begin the Grand Finals of the tournament. "I hope you realize that this'll be an all out match. I don't expect you'll be holding back on me, Ryuko" Letuce states. Ryuko retaliates with: "I should be the one telling you that. I can finally let loose now." Ryuko unleashes a massive wave of ki emanating from his body. The announcer then starts the match and Ryuko and Letuce quickly take to the skies for their fight. Ryuko puts his arm out and uses a powerful shockwave to push Letuce back. Ryuko follows up with an elbow, but Letuce dodges at the last second and knees at Ryuko's abdomen. Letuce knocks him down with a sledgehammer, causing a small crater to form at the edge of the arena.
Letuce charges straight down to Ryuko exclaiming: "That all you got Ryuko!?" Right before Letuce could land the blow, Ryuko began to take this fight seriously and grabbed Letuce's fist mere inches from his face. "Far from it. I've only just begun!" After Ryuko says this, he takes his other hand, grabs Letuce's arm, and starts to spin him around. Ryuko throws Letuce outwards, but Letuce catches himself mid-air and lands back down onto the arena. Oritsu is in awe at the fight he's currently seeing with his own eyes.
He even remarks: "I don't think I've ever seen Ryuko this excited before. It's amazing to see what he can do" Goku Jr, impressed with Ryuko, tells Oritsu: "Yep. I taught him everything I know. I'm feeling confident that Ryuko can take this win home with him" Vegeta Jr scoffs at Goku Jr's bold statement: "Like your grandson could even hold a candle to Letuce. He'll have this fight wrapped up in no time." The two elderly masters began to wager a bet on who would win the Grand Finals. Letuce retaliates Ryuko's next attack with an energy-coated punch to the face, knocking Ryuko back a few feet. Ryuko quickly recovers and performs a jumping bicycle kick. Letuce blocks the attack and slams Ryuko down onto the arena.
Ryuko and Letuce charge their ki up to their maximum! Ryuko begins to charge up a Kamehameha, and Letuce, the Galick Gun, mimicking their ancestors' glorious battle hundreds of years ago.
But just before the two fire off their attacks, an unknown entity suddenly crashes down onto the center of the arena. "What the- !?" Letuce states as he stops charging his beam. Ryuko does the same, however he grows annoyed at an outside interference to their match.
The audience quickly evacuates the area after the foreign object lands on the tournament grounds in fear. Letuce descends down to the arena and joins Ryuko to check out this "object". It looks to be some kind of pod containing a humanoid figure. Goku Jr and Vegeta Jr quickly sense the danger emitting from that pod.
Goku Jr quickly shouts: "Get away from the pod! Something's not right!" The pod would explode and burst into flames. Amidst the flames, the figure rises back up on his feet. A dark red and black aura emerges. The man then unleashes a mighty roar and it instantly clears the flames and smoke in the arena. The man has a black tattered shirt with white and silver, dark red baggy pants, white gloves and boots, and a navy blue belt. However, his most noticeable features are his black spiky hair with a single bang, his pupiless eyes, and a tail. Vegeta Jr spots the man's tail, but doesn't bother pointing it out just yet.
The man unleashes another roar, but this time, his whole body begins to spark with red electricity. The man's aura grows so intense, it forms a red and black sphere around him. "Look out you guys!" Oritsu shouts. "He's gonna let out all that energy!" Ryuko and Letuce immediately put up their guard for the oncoming attack. The man's energy finally bursts out in one giant explosion, engulfing the tournament grounds.
Ryuko and Letuce will be knocked back by over a hundred feet and land on their backs. The two of them quickly get back up and dust themselves off. The area was completely devastated after the man's aura explosion. All of a sudden, spotlights from the sky would be put down onto the enraged man. Helicopters would be hovering over him as soldiers began to descend down to the ground and aim their firearms at the man. The man's aura begins to spark once more.
The military begins to open fire on the man with their rifles, leading to the man taking no damage from the bullets. One soldier launches a rocket from the helicopter, causing the man to grab the rocket and throw it into the oncoming soldiers. The man charges up his energy and unleashes a volley of energy blasts around him, killing each and every single soldier. The man spots the helicopters in the sky, flying up and charging through the helicopters then explode on contact.
The man lands down on the ground again, leaving a crater beneath his feet. Ryuko states: "I don't know who you are, but I suggest you leave our planet. Now!" The man begins to walk up to Ryuko. Ryuko tries to reason once more: "This is the final warning you're getting! Leave our planet!" The man is completely unphased with what Ryuko is saying and continues to approach him. Letuce joins Ryuko's side, ready to fight this monster. Letuce now in his fighting stance tells Ryuko: "I don't think this monster can hear us. We have to fight this guy, or he'll become a threat to the whole planet!" The man starts to speed up into a run, and then a sprint towards the two warriors.
Ryuko remarks: "Well, we've got no choice now!" Ryuko and Letuce charge at full speed to face off against this unknown foe! This will be our young warriors' first dangerous threat.
