THE BAT AND THE JESTER Chapter 1
After weeks of brooding over her breakup with Jason Todd, Barbara Gordon, also known as Batgirl, decided it was time to get back out there. She'd been toying with the idea of joining an online dating site, and with a quick search, she found the perfect match:HarleyQuinn-5'6", 130 lbs., brown hair, blue eyes, and a devilish grin. The profile description read: "Looking for someone who can keep up with my wild side, both in and out of the bedroom. Must be open-minded, adventurous, and most importantly, trustworthy. Let's see if there's any Batmen out there who are up for the challenge!"
This is all new to Barbara since she never been on a dating website (but die to her friends she decided to give a shot) and never thought the first match was another girl witch surprise her. At first she was hesitant to talk to this person but sence she had nothing to lose she decide to send her a message. They talk for hours on the site and over the phone. They had so much in common and they both were into the same things. The more they talked the more they liked each other. They both decide to meet at a luxury club.
When Barbara arrived at the club she could not believe her eyes, the person she was talking to was actually Harley Quinn the former girlfriend to Joker, and Poison Ivy who was a criminal but turn to anti hero. "Oh my God I was flirting with Harley Quinn all night on the phone and dating site. This is so crazy" Barbara thought to herself. She finally found the courage to walk up to Harley and introduce herself. "Hey you must be Harley, I am Barbara. " But before she could finish her sentence Harley put her finger to the red head's mouth. "I know who your Barbara Gordon or should I say Batgirl." She whispered shocking Barbara.Harley smiled warmly and took Barbara's hand. "Don't worry Batgirl, I'm not here to cause any trouble. I'm just here to have a good time with you." With that, they walked into the club hand in hand. The music was thumping, the lights were flashing, and the atmosphere was electric. They made their way through the crowd to the bar, where they ordered their drinks.
As they sat down, Barbara couldn't help but notice the way Harley moved, the way she laughed, and the way she seemed to be completely at ease in her own skin. She felt a rush of adrenaline course through her veins, and for the first time in a long time, she felt truly alive.Harley looked at Barbara with a mischievous glint in her eye and said, "So, Batgirl oh I mean Barbara tell me more about yourself. What do you like to do when you're not out fighting crime?"
"Well," Barbara began, "I'm actually a librarian by day. I've always loved books and information, and I guess that's why I ended up becoming a superhero. When I'm not patrolling the streets or working at the library, I like to go to the gym, practice my martial arts, and just hang out with my friends."
Harley laughed, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Oh, I can just see you in that quiet little library, keeping the peace between the patrons and making sure everyone finds the book they're looking for. It's quite a contrast to your alter ego, isn't it?""It is," Barbara agreed, feeling a blush creep up her cheeks. "But I think there's a part of me that needs both sides. The quiet, peaceful life and the excitement of being a superhero."
Harley thank take a drink and explain about her past relationship with Joker and Poison Ivy.Harley nodded in understanding. "I can relate to that," she said, taking a sip of her drink. "I used to be with Joker, and it was... complicated. We had our good times, but it could be pretty dangerous too. Eventually, I realized that I needed something more stable, something real." She smiled wistfully. "And then I met Poison Ivy, and things got even crazier, but in a good way. We've been together for a few years now, and we've been trying to make a difference, you know? We're still criminals, but we only do what we have to in order to survive. So why did you join Batman's team? What made you decide to become Batgirl?"
Barbara took a deep breath before answering, trying to find the words to explain how she felt about her decision. "Well, I was just a normal high school student when everything happened,"
She continued, "My father was the police commissioner, and I was really close to him. One night, while I was home alone, someone broke into the house. They... they hurt him. He was paralyzed from the waist down for a few months." Her voice cracked as she fought back tears, remembering the pain she felt that night. "I couldn't do anything to stop it. I was just a helpless kid."Harley reached over and took Barbara's hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. "That must have been terrible," she said softly. "But you didn't let it beat you. You decided to take matters into your own hands and become Batgirl."
"Well, not exactly," Barbara admitted, wiping away a tear. "After it happened, I became obsessed with learning self-defense, and I ended up becoming quite good at it. I even earned a black belt in several different martial arts. But I never really thought about being a superhero until I was save by Batman and since then I wanted to help others like he did."
Harley smiled sympathetically. "It's good to have a purpose in life, isn't it? And I can't deny that being Batgirl seems to suit you. You look damn good in that costume." She winked playfully, and Barbara felt a blush creep up her cheeks once again."Thanks," she said, trying to sound casual. "I guess I just want to make a difference, you know? I mean, there's so much crime out there, and people are suffering. It's like they're stuck in this endless cycle, and they don't know how to break free."Harley nodded in agreement. "I know what you mean. Sometimes it feels like we're just scratching the surface, you know? But we keep trying, right?" She reached out and patted Barbara's hand encouragingly. "And who knows? Maybe one day, we'll actually manage to make Gotham a better place. Until then, we'll just keep fighting the good fight, eh?"
Barbara smiled back, feeling a renewed sense of determination welling up inside her. "Yeah," she said, taking a sip of her drink. "We'll keep fighting."The two women spent the rest of the evening talking, sharing stories about their past adventures and their hopes for the future. They discovered that they had more in common than they had first thought, and a genuine friendship began to blossom between them. As the night wore on, they found themselves laughing together, trading insults, and even sharing a few tears over their shared experiences. Harley led Barbara to the dance floor, showing her some of her signature moves, and they danced the night away.
As both girls dance, Barbara couldn't help but admire Harley 's movements and body language. The two women seemed to be perfectly in sync, despite their obvious differences. They danced with such passion and intensity that it was clear they were enjoying themselves immensely. The music changed to a slow, romantic ballad, and Harley took advantage of the moment, pulling Barbara closer and resting her head against the smaller woman's shoulder.
"You know, Babs," she said softly, her breath warm against Barbara's ear, "I've been thinking... maybe we could team up sometime. You know, help each other out. What do you think?"Barbara felt a shiver run down her spine at the intimate tone of Harley's voice. She hadn't expected the other woman to feel the same way, but the thought of working together, of fighting alongside someone who understood her struggles and her motivations... it was an intoxicating idea. "I... I'd like that," she managed to say, her voice barely above a whisper. They danced in silence for a moment, lost in their own thoughts. Then, without another word, Harley leaned in and pressed her lips gently against Barbara's. The touch sent a wave of heat coursing through her body, and she felt herself melt into Harley's embrace. The kiss deepened, becoming more passionate, more demanding, and Barbara found herself lost in the sensation.
When they finally pulled away, they were both breathless. Harley grinned wickedly and planted another kiss on Barbara's forehead, her fingers digging into her shoulders possessively. "Maybe," she whispered, "we could do more than just team up..."Barbara shivered at the thought. She had never considered anything romantic or sexual with another woman before, but with Harley, it felt... right. "We could," she breathed, her heart racing. "We could... explore that."They continued to dance, their bodies pressed tightly together, their lips never far from one another's. As they swayed to the music, Barbara could feel Harley's hands slide down her back, cupping her bottom possessively. She moaned softly, arching into the touch. The sensation of Harley's body against hers was intoxicating, and she found herself wanting more.
When the song finally came to an end, they broke apart, gasping for air. "So," Harley said, her voice a little unsteady, "what do you say? Want to leave this place together?" She winked playfully, a mischievous glint in her eye.Barbara bit her lip, considering the offer. She had never been with another woman before, but something about Harley made her feel safe, desired. "Yes," she managed to reply. "I'd like that very much.
