(Clementine's Pov)
I was looking at Abel as he slept in the desk that Aasim had him tied to. I look to AJ as he had his gun and was messing with is and I looked to Abel again. They had taken Marlon out and I look to the man as he slept. I hated it, so I get up from my spot on the box and I grabbed the back of his head and slammed it to the table waking him up as he cursed at me. I go to the chair and take a seat as he glared at me.
"You fucking bitch." He says and I tilt my head a bit at him.
"If you're mad that I woke you up, you must have had an easy life out there." I say and hold my hand out to AJ and he looked to me as I looked to his gun.
"Go on out with the others." I tell him and he looked to me then to the man.
"Don't kill him." He says and then runs off. I hear Abel laugh and I look to him and I get up and hit him with the pistol so hard making his head bleed. I then point the gun to his head.
"You don't have the guts." He says and I look to him as I put my finger on the trigger and I lean down a bit as he looked to me.
"You better answer my questions, and if I know you're lying." I say and shoot him in the foot making him yell and I hit his head again.
"YOU FUCKING CRAZY BITCH!" He yelled at me and smirk.
"Well, the life I lived made me this way." I say and then take a seat in the chair and looked to him as I played with the gun a bit.
"Where did they take my friends?" I asked him. Of course, he didn't speak so I look at him and point the gun at his head and he looks at me and I raise a brow at him.
"I can do this all day; don't think you'll get any treatment." I tell him.
"You don't know how to do this properly; Lily will be back for me." He says and shifts a bit.
"So, I better get a five-star treatment." He says and I roll my eye as I get up and slam his head to the table again breaking his nose more.
"GAHHHH!" He yelled and I put the pistol in his mouth and I hold his head so he didn't move and I whisper to him.
"You have never been held captive, you don't get to make any demands, I do, as for Lily even if she did come back, we're ready for anything you guys try." I tell him and he looked to me with fear in his eyes. I take the gun out his mouth and then go back to the chair.
"Now, I will not repeat myself again… where did Lily take my friends?" I asked and he took some breaths and looked at me a bit.
"To our home." He says and I get pissed off.
"WHERE YOU FUCKING MORON! I AM TWO SECONDS AWAY FROM BLOWING YOUR BRAIN OUT I DON'T CARE!" I yelled at him and he looked to the ground a bit.
"A… a boat at the river, we have a boat out there." He says and I nod.
"When does it leave?" I asked.
"T-tomorrow." He says and I look at him more.
"Anything about the boat we should know about?" I asked him and he shook his head.
"Only that it's one of those tall ones, has three level." He says.
"What level would they be kept on?" I asked.
"Second level." He says and I nod at this. I hear the cellar doors open and I look to see Mitch as he comes over and I look back to Abel as he looked to me.
"They're on a boat." I tell Mitch and he looked to Abel then to me and I look at him.
"Could build a bomb blow the damn thing sky high." Mitch says and I nod.
"Anything else you want to tell us Abel?" I asked and he shook his head and I look to him a bit then I get up. It must have scared him.
"W-We use a code word." He says and I look at him.
"What is it? and what is it for?" I asked.
"R-Rockingham, it's so we don't shoot our own." He says and I nod and look to Mitch.
"Keep an eye on him, hell beat him up for all I care, just don't kill him… yet." I tell him and he nods as I leave the cellar and see Marlon looking around at the damage.
"This would have never happened." He says and I shake my head.
"Clem, what did you get?" Aasim asked.
"They're on a boat at the river, they would keep prisoners on the second level, Mitch is thinking about building a bomb to blow it up… they don't leave till tomorrow." I tell him as Ruby came up and I put my hands on my hips.
"You think Minerva and Sophie are on that boat?" She asked.
"No idea I doubt it but it could be possible." I say to them.
"Ok… what are we going to do?" Aasim asked and I look to him.
"We have to go scout out the boat, see what exactly we are dealing with how many people and so on, find a way to get on the boat, and get the others back." I tell them and they nod.
"I'll go with you, Ruby can stay here." Aasim says and I look at her and she nods at this and I look to Marlon.
"He's coming but he's going to be tied up." I tell him.
"Got it… anything else?" He asked.
"AJ will come too." I say and he nods at this and we get ready. Mitch came out the cellar and I see his knuckles were red and he looked to me and then came up to me.
"What's going on?" He asked.
"Aasim, AJ, Marlon and I are going to check out the boat, need you to stay here with Ruby and Willy." I tell him and he nods and he heads over to Willy and then I see Aasim. We grabbed Marlon and tied him up as we began to walk to where the boat may be.
"This is stupid you act like I'm going to run." Marlon says.
"With what happened last night be glad you aren't on the boat with them." I mutter as I looked to the dirt path a bit. We reach the end of the river and take some cover in the trees as I see the boat.
"Damn it's huge." Aasim says and I nod and look around.
"I'm going to head over here, see if I can find anything." Aasim says and I nod as he goes to our left and AJ pulled out some binoculars and took a look at the boat.
"There is a path leading up to the boat… but no cover." Marlon says and I take a look and think.
"Shit, nothing to keep cover at all." I say as I look around only to see that the woods was all we could use to keep cover.
"There's a small opening at the boats door." AJ says and he hands me the binoculars and I take a look around.
"I also saw some smaller rafts." Marlon says and I move the binoculars and see the rafts.
"We could use that as a distraction, but it won't get everyone's attention." I say and take the binoculars from my face and take a look to the boat to see some movement. I bring the binoculars back to my eyes and see Lily and another raider with Violet and Louis. They were being taken to a separate section of the boat and I shake my head a bit.
"Violet and Louis look ok; Omar has to be somewhere." I say and hand AJ the binoculars and then I look to see Aasim coming back.
"There is a bunch of horses over there." He says and I nod.
"Lots of flames too, we could burn the hay it'll scare the horses that'll get their attention." Aasim offered and I think as I look around.
"Ok, we can get someone near the rafts and let them drift on the water, we could also burn the hay, it'll get a bunch of them distracted." AJ says and I nod at this.
"Sounds good little guy." Aasim says and I look to the boat.
"But there will still be some people on the boat." I say and we moved to get away from the boat and deeper into the woods.
"Mitch said something about making a bomb, but how exactly would we use that?" I thought out loud and then we hear someone chopping wood and we take some cover. I look to the others and then grabbed my knife and sneak up on the person. I put my knife to their neck and they dropped their Axe.
"The people on the boat, what have thy done to the kids?" I asked.
"Nothing-." They says and I put my knife closer to their neck.
"I swear." They say.
"Wait." I hear and Marlon comes up.
"Minerva?" He asked and I let the girl go and she faced us.
"Marlon." She says and glared at him then she looked to us.
"Holy shit you're alive." Aasim says.
"Yeah… no thanks to any of you, and who the hell are you?" She asked as she looked to me.
"I'm Clementine, look can we just-."
"You're Clementine?" She asked and I look to her and nod.
"Yes… is that a problem?" I asked.
"Lily talked about you when she got back… look the best thing you all can do is come with me." She says and I shake my head.
"No, we need to get Violet and the others back." I tell her.
"No, the best thing you can do is let us take you all to our home." She says.
"See she had it good." Marlon says and she looked to him then to me. I looked to her eyes and then I look to Marlon.
"No, she didn't, look Minerva, we can get you out of this-."
"The best thing is to let them take you, do not fight back." She says.
"MINERVA!" We hear and we hurry up to hide as Minerva stood in the open.
"ROCKINGHAM!" Minerva called out and I see Lily come up to Minerva.
"When you finish up here, you're needed back on the boat, and if you see any Walkers in the area inform us, damn things have been more active in this area." Lily says.
"Yes Ma'am, on it." She says and I look to the side a bit to see Lily gone and Minerva went and picked up the axe and she looked to me.
"We leave tonight, but we will be back to get the rest of you in a week, just don't do anything stupid in that time." She says and I look to her as she leaves. We hurry away from the boat and back to the school.
"This is stupid, none of this would happen if we just-."
"SHUT THE HELL UP MARLON!" I yelled and look at him.
"You need to shut the fuck up, you want to go be with Lily's group, GO! GO BE IN THAT GROUP YOU THINK IT'S SO GOOD GO!" I yelled and he looked to me. I take a few deep breaths and shake my head. We were almost to the school until we saw a bunch of Walkers, and by a bunch I mean a herd.
"God damn it." Marlon says and I glare at him and we all go take some cover.
"Think we can make a cowcatcher?" I asked AJ and he looked to the Walkers.
"We can get that one, cover ourselves in it's sent and then get a cowcatcher." He says and I nod as I go and grabbed a Walker killing it with my knife. I take it over to the others and we get to work on covering ourselves.
"Fucking gross." Marlon says.
"Yeah well you want to live right?" I asked and he looked to me and then looked to the school. I grabbed another Walker and cut it's jaw off and we head to the school before a Walker grabbed me and I dropped the cowcatcher and turned to stab the Walker but it grabbed my hand.
"Stop." It says and I was about to yell but my mouth was covered.
"Shh." It says and I see Aasim about to stab the Walker but I moved a bit telling him to stop and he looked to me as the Walker let me go.
"What the fuck?" Aasim says and the Walker looked to everyone.
"Fucking hell, get in the school." I whispered and we all head in and I helped Aasim lock the gate. I look to the Walker and they take their face off and it's just a kid like us.
"Who the fuck are you?" Aasim asked.
"Hmm, James." The Walker says and I look to the boy.
"Uh… ok... um… Hi." I say a bit confused and the boy looked to me.
"Sorry, thought this place way abandoned." He says.
"Yeah, well it's not." AJ says as he comes next to me and I put my hand on his shoulder.
"AJ don't." I say and he looked up to me and I look to James.
"You killed two of my Walkers." James says.
"Dude, it's a fucking herd of Wal-… wait did you just say your walkers?" Aasim asked and AJ runs over to Tenn and Willy. Mitch comes over to us.
"There is a fuck ton of Walkers where did they come from?" He asked.
"Ask him, he said they were his." I say as Mitch looked to James.
"I walk with them; sorry I didn't mean harm." He says.
"Wait… we could use the heard." Aasim says and I look to him.
"What?" I asked.
"Think about it, we can't get near the boat without cover, this herd can be our cover." Aasim says and I think about this plan.
"That… actually would work." I mutter.
"Wait hold on." James says and I look to him.
"What?" I asked.
"Will the Walkers get hurt?" He asked and I frown a bit.
"Excuse you?" Mitch asked.
"The Walkers… they can't get hurt." He says.
"Are you fucking serious? You have a herd of Walkers and you don't want them to get hurt? They aren't people." Mitch says and I go up to him.
"Hey calm down." I say and he looked to me then shook his head and I look to James.
"Look we need to save our friends, and this is the best option, who the fuck cares if Walkers get hurt? They are dead people, that eat our friends." Aasim tells James and the boy backs up a bit.
"I just… think there could be another way." James says.
"How would you know?" I asked.
"Your friends are on that boat right?" He asked us.
"You've been watching us?" Mitch asked.
"I saw those raiders take your friends in those cages, to the boat on the river, those raiders are going to make them fight in a war up north." He says and I look to him.
"What do you know about the war up there?" I asked.
"I was with a group called the Whisperers, they are part of the war too, use the Walkers in a bad way, destroying homes and killing people." James says and I look to him.
"I use them for good, they don't hurt people." He says.
"They do hurt people." Mitch says and then I see Ruby and the others come over to us.
"You have to help us, if you know the war is bad and know our friends are going to be used in this war, then you should help us." Aasim says. The boy stayed silent and looked to the Walker mask and then to us.
"I'm sorry but I can't." He says.
"What are the Walkers names?" I asked and he looked to me.
"What?" He asked.
"Those Walkers, what are their names?" I asked as I pointed to the herd outside the gates. He stayed silent as he looked to the Walkers then to me.
"Violet, Louis, Omar, those are our friends' names, they are alive, they are kids like us, they don't want to fight in this stupid war, none of us do, and if you hate it as well then you have to help us, James." I tell him and he takes a breath.
"Were you in this war?" He asked and I look at him.
"Your eye… did you lose it in this war?" He asked as he pointed to my patch and I shake my head.
"I was beaten by a mad man when I was eleven, and… I got out of a group a while back who is involved in all of this, but I've seen this war." I tell him.
"Then you know, no good can come from this." He says.
"No good for us, or for your stupid Walkers?" Mitch says.
"Everyone." He tells us.
"Were you involved in the war?" Ruby asked.
"…Yes… I was… I did bad things and I realized it's not worth it." He says to us.
"You killed someone?" AJ asked and I look to him then to James who nods.
"Did you kill Walkers?" AJ asked the boy again and James nods at this.
"Yes, but I've changed." James says.
"Then you know how bad Walkers are, you're a hypocrite." Mitch says to James who looked to him.
"I have been with these Walkers for a long time." James says.
"He's not going to help, throw his ass out." Mitch says.
"No." I say and they all look to me and I look to James.
"Look, help us and we will help you, deal?" I asked and he looked to me.
"Please." I say to him.
"Clem." AJ says and I keep looking to James and he looked to the side a bit then to me.
"Fine… I will help." He says and I nod at this. Mitch leaves and Ruby comes up to me.
"Sorry to ask this but mind if I borrow AJ to help in the music room?" She asked and I looked to her.
"Oh, sure, what for?" I asked.
"Tenn and Willy suggested we could have a party before we save the others… you know get everyone pumped up?" She says and I nod.
"AJ go with Ruby." I tell him and he nods as he followed her. I go over to James as he was by the gate and I look to the Walkers and I crossed my arms.
"I'm sorry for what happened to your eye." He says.
"Happened years ago, I'm over it." I tell him.
"Did you have to kill people too?" He asked and I nod.
"Yes, I had no choice, you know it's kill or be killed out there." I tell him.
"So, you aren't from here?" He asked.
"No… I'm going to guess you aren't from here either." I say to him.
"No… Washington." He says.
"Georgia." I tell him.
"Long way from home." He says and I nod. I scratch my neck a bit and then look to the Walkers a bit then to James as he still looked to them.
"… How can you kill Walkers? Knowing they could be someone you know?" He asked and I freeze a bit and look to him as he looked to me.
"Everyone I know is either dead, was a Walker, is a Walker or just gone." I tell him.
"But could you kill them?" He asked.
"I had to Watch as my parents tried to come up and eat me, and I had to shoot my friend before he turned into those monsters, all in the same day, and I was only nine… I had to watch people fight each other, I had to take out AJ's mother before she ate him and he was just a few hours old." I tell him and he looked at me as I frown at him.
"You… did that?" He asked.
"I was nine… I had to… if I didn't I would have died." I tell him and he looked away from me.
"AJ was it? has he done that?" He asked.
"No, I make sure he doesn't have to, I don't want him to take a life unless he has to." I tell him and I look to the Walkers as they just passed around to woods. James sighed a bit and I look at him as he rubbed his neck.
"Is there someone you like that's on that boat?" He asked.
"Why would you need to know that?" I asked and we look to each other.
"You looked like you were going to beg for me to help… only people I know that would beg is if there was someone very important to them was in trouble." He says and I look to the belltower a bit then I look to him.
"There are people I care about on that boat, that's all I will say." I tell him and he just nods. I move away from him and see Marlon as he was walking around a bit in the court yard. I then look to the cellar and head over to it. I go down the cellar and see Abel as he was sleeping again and I get angry. I go over to him and slam my hands on the desk waking him up and he looked to me and tried to back up but he couldn't.
"God damn… the hell do you want?" He asked and I grabbed his shirt. He looked to me and then I let him go and take a seat in the chair on the side and I look to him as he looked to me.
"You woke me for what?" He asked and I glare at him.
"How the fuck can you sleep?" I asked him and he glares at me.
"Easy, I close my eyes and just go to sleep." He says and I get up and slammed his head to the table making him groan in pain and I go take a seat in the chair again as he glared at me.
"You're all ok with sending kids to die, makes me sick… you called me weak but you fuckers are adults that send kids to do your dirty work… fucking chicken shits." I say to him and he laughed.
"It's a good home to defend." He laughed and I glare at him as he laughed more then coughed.
"If you were there, you'd defend it too." He says and I cross my arms as I watched him cough more, this time it was a bunch of blood and I couldn't help but smirk.
"Fuck… god damn it." He says and I get up.
"W-What are you doing?" He asked and I turn to look at him.
"Nothing… just letting you die… turn into a Walker, and let you suffer." I tell him.
"Y-You can't do that." He says scared and I go over to him and crouch down a bit and he looked to me. I saw fear in his eyes as they moved and I stand up.
"Why should I not let you turn into a Walker? I think you should suffer, locked in a shell that was once your body." I tell him.
"I don't want to turn; I don't want my body to betray me." He begged and I look at him more as he got scared and coughed more making blood come up from his throat and onto himself as he tried to breath. His breaths were ragged and I go take a seat in the chair as I watch him suffer.
"No one wants to turn." He gasps.
"And no one wants to be forced into a war, but here we are." I say as I looked to him and he looked to the side as more blood came from his mouth and I just smirk at this. The fact that he thought he was better than me, but now he was terrified that his death was in my hands.
"See now had this started to happen after we saved our friends, I would gladly kill you before you turned, but since we don't know if they are hurt or dead right now, guess you're just going to have to feel yourself rot." I tell him.
"No one… deserves this." He says slowly and his body slumps a bit and I watch him. He doesn't move at all until I hear him gargle a bit. I watch as he opened his eyes, they were still two different shades of gold and he jumps a bit trying to grab at me but I don't move from my spot. I keep watching him as he struggled to get out of the chair and I chuckled a bit and then get up and walk out the cellar and lock it up.
"Hey did he say anything else?" Aasim asked and I look to him as I stood up.
"Nothing new… he's a Walker now." I tell him.
"Shit, we got to… get rid of him." He says and I look to him.
"No, let him suffer, just don't go down there, I'll tell the others." I tell him.
"Shit Clem that's cruel." He says.
"And what him and his group are doing isn't? besides, we will kill him when everyone get's back safe." I tell him and he looked to me.
"What's going on? You didn't seem like this when you got here, you saved Marlon." He says.
"That's different Aasim, they deserve to suffer, Marlon made a mistake but these people… they won't change they have their minds set and look at what they did." I say as I look around to see all the damage that the raiders caused to the school.
"They did all this just to kidnap a bunch of kids, your friends, your family." I tell him and he put his hands on his hips as he looked to the destruction and then to me.
"I get it, I should be mad about this, I… you just… I don't know." He says and I watch him.
"What if Ruby got taken?" I asked and he looked at me a bit then to the ground.
"I see your point… wait, why bring it up like that?" He asked.
"You care for her, don't you?" I asked and he nods. He then looked to me a bit.
"You care for someone on the boat?" He asked and I looked to the gates a bit and then looked to him.
"You do, don't you? When Louis kept asking all those dating questions… who?" He asked and I just keep looking at him then shook my head a bit at this.
"It doesn't matter, right now we need to set up a plan on what we are going to do." I say and he nods then we head inside the building and I hear some music. We head to the music room and I see Ruby showing AJ a really old music player.
"It's called a record player." AJ says and I nod at this.
"It's the only thing that doesn't run on electricity, but we have many records to play so yeah." She says and I nod at this. I looked to see a blank sheet and I look at it a bit.
"Thought that the younger kids would have fun making a sign, you know something inspirational." She says and I nod.
"Yeah, seems like it would be fun." I say and AJ runs up to us.
"I have an idea but… it has a swear." He says and I look to Ruby as she smiled at AJ.
"If Clem is fine with it, then sure." She says and looked to me.
"Sure, fuck it, have fun with the swears Goofball." I say and rubbed his head and he smiled as he ran to the others excited. I help Ruby with getting all the stuff ready and it was close to night time and everyone was in the music room and AJ pulled me outside the music room for a bit.
"Hey AJ what's up?" I asked as I crouch down and look to him.
"Are you ok?" He asked and I was a bit confused and tilt my head a bit.
"Yeah, why?" I asked.
"Well… you've been a little out of it since Violet and the others were taken." He says and we both take a seat on the ground.
"I'm just a bit upset with myself." I tell him.
"Why?" He asked and I think a bit and look to him as he moved to sit next to me.
"Because I feel like I failed in doing the one thing I promised them." I tell him and he looked to me a bit and then to the ground.
"You shouldn't feel bad." He says and I look at him and place my hand on his shoulder.
"I know that it could have been a possibility that someone would get hurt or other issues… just the fact that I made a promise… it's stupid but you know." I say to him and he nods.
"It's not dumb… but I get it." He says and I nod.
"Clem… I've been thinking… if you get bit I want to get bit too." He says and I look at him.
"No." I tell him.
"But James-."
"You've been talking to him?" I asked and he nods.
"I wanted to know why he was dressed as a Walker, and we talked a bit and he said that the Walkers are people too." He says and I look to him and I sighed.
"AJ… people have a different perspective on Walkers." I tell him and he looked to me.
"What do you think?" He asked and I take a breath and looked to the hallway across from us.
"Walkers aren't people AJ, they just eat people, they take away people we care about, and they don't care if you're a kid, if you have a family, anything, they just take the things you care about." I tell him.
"So, you never thought that they were once people?" He asked and I rubbed my face a bit.
"I knew they were once people, but I'd like to think that they wouldn't want to be like that, after what we experienced, I wouldn't want to be a Walker." I tell him.
"But I don't want to be alone." He says and I look to him.
"You won't be alone." I tell him.
"But I will be… I don't want you gone." He says and I look to him a bit and rubbed his head.
"I'm not going away for a long time." I tell him.
"You can't promise that." He says and I look to him sadly.
"I know, but I can try to keep that promise." I tell him and he looked to me and lean his head on my arm and I look to the walls around us.
"Let's just have some fun while we can ok?" I asked and he nods a bit and I help him up. We head back into the music room and the music was going and people were talking. Ruby had made some drinks for everyone and I take a small mug and we all decided to take a seat on the cushons that were on the ground. Marlon was just looking to the side a bit and I look to see Mitch and Willy looking at some book, Ruby was talking to Aasim, AJ was drawing a bit with Tenn and I take a drink from my mug.
"So, we have an idea where we take one of the bombs and place it in the boiler, but when we do we have to be quick getting the others." Mitch says as he shows the book to all of us.
"You're going to blow up their boat?" James asked.
"Oh, don't tell me you want those assholes to live." Mitch says.
"No just… you'll cause more damage than needed." He says.
"Oh god he's fucking worried about the Walkers." Aasim says.
"They were people once." He tells Aasim and I rubbed my head a bit.
"Ok that's it-."
"Stop." I say and they all look to me.
"We all have our own opinions on Walkers and we all just have to learn to deal with that." I tell them.
"But he cares more for Walkers." Willy says and I sigh a bit.
"They were people once, they had lives." He says.
"They eat people dude, they kill us off, if you care so much for them why don't you become one of them?" Mitch says and I look to James a bit as he kept quiet.
"See you don't want to be a Walker, but you want us to care? Fuck that." He tells James.
"You don't understand, they are calm when they aren't attacked." He says.
"My parents tried to grab me." I say and looked to the ground.
"Clem." AJ says and I look to all of them.
"AJ's own mother tried to eat him and he was just born, and he was only a few hours old and she… do you know how fucked up that is?" I asked James.
"I… there-."
"There is no reason for that to happen, AJ was just a newborn he didn't attack her and she just… My own parents didn't even know I was there… they died not knowing if I was ok, or alive or anything, I was just eight when... when they died and i was nine when… I saw them… do you know how fucked up it is to see your own parents as Walkers? I was lied to by a stranger, who said they were alive and with them, do you not see how fucked up that is?" I asked James and he looked to me.
"I lost my friends to Walkers, I lost my parents, because of Walkers, I LOST MY HOME, EVERYTHING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO ME WAS BECAUSE OF WALKERS!" I yelled as I got up and they look to me.
"IF IT WASN'T FOR WALKERS, I WOULD BE HOME WITH MY PARENTS AND I WOULDN'T HAVE A BUSTED EYE, I WOULDN'T BE DAMAGED I WOULDN'T HAVE TO HAVE TAKEN THE RESPONCABILITY OF TAKING CARE OF FULL-GROWN ADULTS WHILE THEY FUCK EVERYTHING UP!" I yelled at him.
"Clem calm down." I hear and there is a hand on my shoulder and I look to Ruby then to James.
"I had to do things I fucking regret, you think I wanted to shoot my best friend? You think I wanted to see the things I've seen? Hear the things I've heard? To have constant nightmares? If Walkers never existed none of this would have happened, none of us would have to, ask them." I say gesturing to the school kids.
"…We were abandoned when we needed the adults the most." Mitch tells James and he looked to him.
"They were supposed to take care of us… and they leave us to die… do you think that was ok?" Ruby asked.
"No." James says quietly.
"I get it... you think they still have something in them, but James… not all of us lived the life you did." Marlon spoke up and we all look to him.
"I had fucked up badly… so bad that we are in the situation we are in now, so bad that I… killed my own friend because I was fucking scared." Marlon tell him.
"You killed your friend." James says.
"He didn't mean to." I tell James and they look to me.
"I've seen someone kill someone over a god damn coat… I saw my friend get shot in a dirty bathroom because a girl was trying to rob me, and… a baby… god damn it." I say as I remember Christa and her baby.
"You went through a lot." James says.
"We all have asshole." AJ says.
"Language." I tell him and he looked to me.
"But it's true." He mutters and I nod and take a seat next to him.
"I lost my sisters to those raiders." Tenn tells James and he looked to the boy.
"You all haven't walked with them, if you look at it like I do-."
"You expect us to became one with the Walkers?" Willy mocked and James looked to him.
"They killed our friends, all we did was go out hunting and they just eat us, we just go to get supplies and they eat us, we didn't even attack them, we didn't even know they were there and you want to say that if we don't attack them and they still ate our friends." Mitch says and I look to the ground. Everyone was silent and I finish my drink and set the mug down.
"Look we just have to worry about getting our friends back and take down those raiders." I say as I get up.
"So, we should rest up for the night." Ruby says and I nod in agreement and we all go to our rooms and get some sleep.
"Hey Sweetpea." I hear and look to see Lee and then see that we were on the train this time. I look to him and then back to the woods as the trees passed us by.
"Something on your mind?" He asked as he took a seat next to me and I look to the tracks a bit and I take my hat off my head and look to it.
"I'm… actually scared for once." I tell him and he smiles a bit.
"Everyone get's scared Clem." He says and puts his hand on my head and I look to him a bit.
"I was scared taking care of you…and many others are scared too, you aren't alone in all of this." He tells me and I look down.
"I am not allowed to be scared, I'm supposed to be the brave one here, it's my fault we even have to do this, I couldn't keep everyone safe and now we have to go on a boat and try to save the others." I ranted and look at him as he looked to me.
"Clem… you have to realize that you will feel this way, it's because you have aa bunch of people you worry about, you feel responsible for them and I get it… it's hard, it's going to be hard, but it's going to be ok." He says.
"How?" I asked.
"Because they have you… They trust you, and knowing you, things will… be fine." He says and I look to him.
"My own mind making me think like this." I say and shake my head.
"Clementine, things will not always work out, even before the Walkers it happened… I messed up, my brother, even my own parents and yours… it's a part of life, and sadly now it's worse but you try and try your best to fix things, fix this world, and if I was going to be honest to you, you and your new friends will be that change to fix the world… yes it will take time but you are the start of that change, I mean look at what you've done already." He tells me and I wipe the tears from my eye.
"You are a great kid… I'm glad I got to meet you Clem, and I think your new friends are glad you came too… and your girlfriend." He says and I look to him quickly as he laughed.
"I… um." I tried to speak and he laughed some more.
"Clem it's ok, you can be happy for once in your life… you can't always have that fear." He says.
"But I've seen how people act when in relationships and it doesn't end well." I tell him.
"Yeah, my relationship didn't end well… but… you haven't messed up yet, and this is a new experience for you, you're going to have some fears but Violet seems to understand when you need space, she isn't pushing you into anything and if you tell her you're uncomfortable she'll stop anything she's doing to help you." He says and I nod. It was true Violet didn't push for anything, if anything she asked if I was ok for her to do anything, I was the one to kiss her first, she made me feel happy, and I hoped I made her happy as well. It's a new feeling and if I was going to be honest it was a great feeling, but I didn't want to mess anything up.
"It's ok Clem… and it's time to go help your friends." He says as he gets up and I look at him and then get up as well.
"See you soon Lee." I say and he nods.
I wake up to the sound of AJ walking and I turn my head to the side a bit as he looked to me as he put his jacket on. I get up slowly and I grabbed my hat and looked to the window o see the stars out still. I take a breath and we both leave the room to see the others also getting out of their rooms and we all leave the school and head to the boat. James was going to get as many Walkers as he could and I looked to the boat a bit and then look to Mitch as he carried the bomb and I look to the boat to see some movement and I go back to the others.
"We're going to set fire to the hay, Ruby can grab a horse and cage too so we have a faster escape to the school." Aasim says and I nod.
"I'm going to the raft; we could take some of that stuff for the school." Willy says to us.
"That would be a great idea, Tenn can help." I tell him and he nods.
"Got it." He says and we all get ready as we see James come by.
"Ok, Walkers are ready, they'll be here in a few minutes." He tells us and I nod and look around.
"Ok, Aasim, Mitch, AJ and I will cover ourselves in Walkers guts and walk in the heard to the boat, if they start shooting grab a Walker and use it as a guard, we get on the boat and place the bomb in the boiler, with the unknown amount of time we have we get to the others on the second level, get them out and get off the boat." I explained.
"What if we have an issue, a bunch of Walkers is going to cause some problems." Mitch says and I think.
"Best we can do is just take out anyone in our way, if we can just knock them out then that's fine the bomb will take care of them and any Walkers too, we just need to be careful if things go bad, if we end up separated just get to the school, if you can't make it to the school we can meet up here." I grabbed a map and pointed to a bridge.
"It's far from here and yet still close to the school." I tell them then James came up and pointed to a part of the map.
"There is an abandoned barn right here, it's better if you go there and hide out for a day especially with a heard this big." He says and I nod and mark the area.
"Ok, we have the plan set out." I say.
"What if any of us get captured?" Ruby asked and I look to her and then to the boat.
"We have to try and not get caught, but if it happens, do anything you can to get out, break anything, hurt anyone, do not give up." I tell them and they nod.
"Got it." They all say and I hear the Walkers as they get closer. AJ and I go and grabbed a Walker and killed it. We covered ourselves along with Aasim and Mitch, when done we all got ready. Ruby headed to the horses as Willy and Tenn went to the other rafts. Aasim, Mitch, AJ and I hide in the herd and walk with the Walkers. It was hard with all the shooting going on but we finally made it to the dock and we had to go into the water. The guts washed off of us and I we had to duck down into the water as a raider ran by. But we were able to get to the door of the boat and Mitch helped AJ up as I grabbed the bow and arrow and take a shot at any Walkers or people that were coming after us.
"Come on." I hear Aasim say and the boat door came down and we hurry inside. We closed up the door just as some Walkers hit it and we backed away from the door and looked around.
"Where would the boiler be?" AJ asked.
"Down on this level, just look for a bit metal thing that has a pipe sticking out of it." Mitch whispers and we walk around a bit. There was some running around so we took cover behind some boxes as someone ran past us. We hurry from our hiding spots and go into the other room and I see something behind a gate.
"The boiler." Mitch says as we hurry over to it and he placed the bomb inside.
"Ok, knowing them they could start it up as soon as possible, I'd give it thirty minutes at least." He explained and we all nod as we hurry to another door and I open it to see no one. I see some stairs and we hurry up to it and go up the stairs quietly.
"Look, we should go now, there's to many Walkers." I hear and see Minerva.
"Damn it." I mutter as we stay hidden.
"Minerva?" Mitch asked and I nod.
"Damn it she's right." I hear and look up from our spots to see some raiders going around and Minerva was looking at something on the side.
"We have to head out." She says as we sneak up on her. Whoever she was talking to didn't respond and I grabbed my bow and arrow out and aim it at her as she turned to face us.
"What the-."
"Shut it… we're just here to get our friends." I tell her and she looked to me then to the door.
"I told you-."
"Minerva, please." Aasim says and I look to him then to the woman as she looked to us. She looked mixed but then nods as she unlocked one of the cells and I hurry in and see Violet as she was leaning on the wall facing away from me.
"Violet." I whispered as I go up to her and place my hand on her shoulder before I feel a knock to my head making me black out.
