Goku observed with curiosity the boy dressed as one of the many demons who worked for King Yama, with a white shirt and black trousers who, with a decidedly angry expression, was marching in their direction; he wasn't one of them, however, and didn't even seem to have a very powerful aura, but the Saiyan knew from experience that many individuals (including himself) had the ability to hide their true power, so he decided not to lower his guard, even if maintaining a relaxed posture. What struck him most in the appearance of the young man, who looked like an Earthling, were the very blond hair with orange highlights that framed his young face like the corolla of a sunflower, and the intense blue eyes very similar to those of a super saiyan... in a certain way he reminded him a little of a perhaps adult version of Gohan...

- Newone! Who gave you permission to leave the archive? -, the commanding and thundering tone of King Yama, evidently still angry with the young man for the events that had occurred a month earlier, drew the attentions to him again, also making the blond suddenly remember the real reason why he was showing up in his presence without being consulted; he seemed to regain a minimum of calm and his eyes lost their hostile light for a moment as he turned to the demon. - Excuse me King Yama, but I urgently have to report to you some irregularities regarding the Purification Department of the Underworld -, he justified himself, making the folder he held in his hands float on the King's desk with a gesture.

Yama seemed to calm down slightly as he proceeded to review the reports; in the meantime the young man took the opportunity to approach King Kai for explanations. - King Kai! It's nice to see you again, how are you? - he asked him in an affable tone of voice but with a note of concern in it.

- Ah Newone! I'm fine, thank you my dear boy -, the monarch smiled at him cordially, while Bubbles and Gregory approached him to receive a friendly hug from the young man, who welcomed them both in his arms with a broad smile. - I see King Yama is keeping you in the background. What have you done this time, mhn? -, the monarch then asked, noticing how the young man was not wearing his usual combat suit that he always used when he went to take care of some lost soul; the blond immediately blushed in embarrassment and lowered his eyes guiltily, aware that he couldn't hide anything from him. - I admit...that I lost patience with a colleague...-, he murmured, - I had just learned of your Majesty's passing and I lost control for a moment...-.

King Kai nodded understandingly: he had known that boy for years, it was he himself who had given him the role of Soul Collector, wanting to put his fighting potential and his desire to impress him to good use, also to keep him away from bad company present in the Underworld, where the young man was born as a pure soul, a more unique than rare event. He was also aware of his rebellious character which very often got him into trouble...

- I imagine that it shocked you Newone... in fact it took me by surprise too that I passed away -, King Kai admitted, - But in the end I have to admit that it was still an interesting experience... to die for! -.

And of course King Kai had to make a pun... which no one understood.

While the monarch laughed at his own joke, King Yama, Newone and even Goku let out a sigh and a nervous laugh at the strangeness of it, but no one commented to avoid offending the King and his ego.

While the monarch recovered from his bout of giggling, Goku was trembling with impatience; he didn't want to seem rude, but his desire to go and meet the Grand Master continued to grow. Eventually he made the decision to take his leave and continue on his way. - I'm going, see you later. I'm in a bit of a rush, sorry! -, he said, taking a few steps forward while he greeted those present with a wave of his hand, before quickly heading towards the aircraft take-off area; he was stopped by one of the controllers, who ordered him to queue like everyone else, but as soon as he realized that he, as a pupil of King Kai, had preserved his body, he immediately let him pass, to the amazement of those present and the King Kai's disappointment with his behavior. - When that boy fixates on one thing, there's no way to shake it off of him -, he commented as he watched him go, aware however that he wouldn't have left without him since he didn't know the way.

- King Kai, excuse me, could you explain to me who that young man is? And how come he still has his body? By now he should have undergone Dematerialization...-, asked Newone, intrigued and amazed by the freedoms that that black-haired young man dared to take.

- This is Goku, and he is one of my latest students. He is an extraordinary warrior, so I decided to reward him and present him to Grand Master King Kai. It's true, sometimes he is a little exuberant, but he has a big heart -, explained the monarch, smiling again with a fierce light of pride behind his round dark glasses.

"That Goku? That imbecile who enjoyed creating messes with the Dragon Balls?", Newone thought, but he didn't say it out loud so as not to offend King Kai, who seemed really proud of the young man's exploits.

- I understand -, he limited himself to commenting, also observing from afar the young man who was now looking around to understand which plane to get on with a confused expression on his young face.

- Now that I think about it...why don't you come with us, Newone? -. King Kai's request took the blond by surprise: - W-What? Do you want me to come to the Grand Master too? -.

- Why not? In fact, I've been thinking about letting you meet him for a long time, after all you're one of my students too -, King Kai smiled at him, giving him a light pat on the arm, - And what better occasion than now that we're all gathered together? Newone's eyes widened as he saw the bigger demon nod in agreement. - For me there are no problems King Kai. After all, I think the boy has served his sentence very well given the efficient work he has done in the archive, so I allow him to go -.

The blonde's face lit up with a radiant smile: - Really? Thank you so much King Yama! And thanks to you King Kai, I promise I won't disappoint you! -, taken by enthusiasm, he also quickly greeted Bubbles and Gregory and also ran towards the point where Goku was, anxious and excited to begin that new journey together with his mentor.
