I have a discord. discord. gg/9ah46GFzbn. This one is a bit dead, so I'll invite ya'll to a discord server I am part of. It's a fanfic server with a couple thousand people on it. discord .gg/wd3tUYWVCd It's got the space in it since FFN is a bit weird about links. If the link says it's expired, either add me on discord (the_commissar13) or pm me here and I'll get you a fresh link and change the ones here.

A Little Camping Trip

People were still assholes. Turns out the fat bastard of a noble was using me taking the stuff off of some of his trespassing guards as a reason to take me to court because I "stole" from him. I laughed in Sena's face when she reported that and told her to get off my lawn. Since then, I have decided that I will be traveling for a little while because fuck them. Where am I going you ask? Good question, my destination was Keeles dungeon. Specifically so I could kill Vanir the minute he appears. That should theoretically shadow the bullshit that the NTR noble was spouting. So, my walk continued. The entire group of dolls were following me and carrying stuff so we could live comfortably in the dungeon.

Making it there, I realized we would probably be here for a while. From my memory, Vanir comes about a bit before winter, and considering it's pretty far into fall, I probably wouldn't have to wait long. Making it to the very end of the dungeon where the bed with the skeleton was with little resistance, I dropped my pack on the ground. The dolls followed suit with all of the crates they were carrying, some lowered more gently than others due to volatile substances. We then began the process of setting up a base of operations. Since the dungeon was technically cleared since Keele was dead, we could go light in defenses. I still set up a lot of tripwires connected to the explosive potions. Since one of the triggering mechanisms was the stopper opening, I tied the string around the stopper and strung it across dim corridors that would make spotting them harder. There was also a large amount of dolls that wanted to drop potions on people so that the rogue skill Detect Trap wouldn't go off. Even if the doll got hit because of Detect Enemy the potion would still go off.

To ensure any of the spirits that were lost in alchemy explosions would be temporary, I started to learn doll making. Granted, I wasn't very good. The facial proportions were all wrong, limbs were different lengths, joints faced the wrong way, and the bodies and clothing did't fit each other. All in all, the first month of failed attempts at making dolls and stitching their clothing made a lot of firewood. After the month of failed attempts, I finally made a doll body that was passable for the dolls. It wasn't good, but it could serve as a temporary body for dolls that were destroyed. It could also serve as a body for any new and bitter spirits that would like to join in my crusade. Sitting up at a new idea, I made a quick trek outside to cut down a tree and brought it into the dungeon with the help of some of the dolls. Beginning to make the basic shape of what I wanted to make with Lunar Ray, I carved out the basic shape of a human. Going through the normal steps it took to make a doll, I finally got the desired outcome. The goliath doll was completed. It was about five times as tall as I was, and while not the prettiest creation, It was a functioning doll. Several of the dolls around me stopped the game they were playing and then dropped to the floor, no longer possessed. It seemed to take a bit, but the doll did eventually come to life. It seemed a bit twitchy, likely due to several souls trying to control the same body, and counting the dolls that were on the ground, it seemed that it took about twenty souls to power the goliath.

Cackling at the success of my creation, I floated up to the doll's shoulder and stood atop it. The doll had to stoop, as the ceiling was short compared to it, and it eventually settled into a sitting position against the wall. Hopping down back to the workstation, I got back to making regular dolls. While having an entire army of dolls sounded nice, it would take a lot of time and effort.

Humming to myself as I worked on another doll, I heard a light explosion come from near the surface of the dungeon. Perking up, I stopped my work and flared my Lunatic Eyes to make myself invisible. Flying down tunnels, I made any doll that followed my invisible as well. Eventually, we came upon a small group of adventures and knights being led by Chris, or as I knew, Eris. They were heading deeper into the dungeon towards me and my base. Frowning, I landed behind them and silently followed them.

"Are you sure this is the right way?" one of the knights said, eyeing the corridors like something was going to jump out at them at any moment. To be fair, deeper in the dungeon, we had set up some jumpscares, and even deeper, we had several demons that we captured ready to be set loose on any unsuspecting group of trespassers.

"I'm positive," Chris said. Looking closely at the party with her, she had brought Kazuma's party, Yunyun, and Kyouya's party, along with a squad of ten knights. All in all, a very large group. "Reisen set up down here due to the local lord trying to get control of the mobile fortress destroyer that Reisen owns. He fled so that the lord couldn't try anything."

"It is of the utmost importance that we meet this Reisen fellow. We need more forces on the frontline."

Realizing they weren't here for my immediate arrest I decided to unveil myself. Dropping the Lunatic Eyes I cleared my throat, causing the group to jump and quickly turn to face me. Laughing internally at their faces I tilted my head to the side in a sort of confused look. I knew that I gave off a creepy innocence look with how I was bathed in the red light of the several dolls' eyes/

"Are you lost?"

They seemed to visibly relax at seeing me, but still stayed on guard due to the large number of floating dolls behind me.

"Ah! You scared us" Kazuma said, holding a hand to his heart.

"My apologies," I said, completely straight faced, "That wasn't my intention." (It most definitely was).

"Ah, it's all water under the bridge, these royal knights wanted to talk to you."

"Ahem, yes. I am Chevalier Philip Rosenfurt of the Royal Knights. I am here for a Lunar Rabbit known as Reisen, would he be your father?"

I stifled a chuckle at his remark before speaking. "I am Reisen."

"But," the knight sputtered, "You are only a child!"

"I'll let you know that I am 17 sir knight."

"What? But you look no older than 9!"

"It's not my fault that your race is so short lived that your developmental period is super fast. In fact, most magically attuned races like mine can live forever if we are never killed by war or disease."

"What race are you? You seem to be a rabbit folk, but they are all extinct."

"Did they not tell you? What useless humans. I am a spirit youkai similar to the winter shogun known as a Lunar Rabbit. We live on the moon most of the time, but I came down here because the mana down here has been getting corrupted because of the demon king," I lied as easily as I shot danmaku. Speaking of, I really need to delve into danmaku shaping.

"I see, that makes sense if your entire people are so magically sensitive that you would be able to feel that."

Aqua seemed to be crying because she remembered me going through her reincarnation system. Jokes on her, her constant insistence that she is a goddess makes people not believe her ever.

"I will have to ask that you ensure your nobles do not hamper my quest or I will have to remove them under suspicion that they are helping the demon king in its corruption."

The knight seemed taken aback but nodded seriously. A doll flew behind me out of peoples' sights before tapping me on the back three times. It was a code we had come up with if, one tap meant people, two meant monsters, and three meant Vanir.

"Speaking of corruption," I said while turning on my Lunatic Eyes. "It appears that a demon king general is entering the dungeon."

The small group in front of me started to freak out before I silenced them all by countering all of the sound waves they were making.

"Follow me, we are going to have this thing go through all of my traps before we fight it."

"Traps?" Chris asked while frowning. "I haven't sensed any."

"Yeah, I set a few up with explosive potions. Then I also have a few starved demon's captive down here ready to be set loose on unsuspecting enemies."

Walking farther down into the dungeon until I reached the bottom again, Aqua shivered in disgust at all of the spirits possessing dolls. The parties look on in awe of the giant doll and all of the other dolls I had set up everywhere. In all of the time I had been set up down here, I had made hundreds of successful dolls, and hundreds more outfits for the dolls. It seemed to placate the spirits to be able to try on different clothes, which I took to mean that they were girls. Sitting down cross legged on the bed, I closed my eyes and strained my ears. Hearing a lot of concussive explosions and some cackling from dolls dropping potions on unsuspecting dolls.

Opening my eyes at hearing the first of the demons being released, I stood and nodded to several of the dolls. 20 of them went limp and a few seconds later, the goliath doll sat up. Using a Lunar Ray to make the door a bit bigger so that doll could get into the main chamber that was much taller than this room, I listened closely to the combat going on. Fishing my adventurer card out of my breast pocket and looking over my options, I selected Descendant of Caerbannog, as the information on how to use it flooded my mind, I smiled widely.

"Do any of you have a pair of daggers I could borrow?"

My smile must've been very disturbing because the group took a step back at my question, but Chris (Eris) handed me two daggers and made me promise to kill the demon king general with them. I nodded to her and walked to the middle of the room where the goliath doll was standing and flew up to its shoulder. Standing there, I waited for Vanir to enter the room while the dolls started to gather around me. Eventually, we heard the footsteps of the duke of hell himself, along with the footsteps of his doll army. Unluckily for him, my dolls could fly, and were abusing their ability to do so to shoot danmaku bullets at the little suicide bombers. With one final explosion, the door to the main chamber was destroyed, and Vanir walked into the room.

Walking through the forest to a nearby dungeon, Vanir hummed in thought. Beldia had been sent to Axel following the blue beam of holy energy coming from near there. He was supposed to recon the area and see if any gods had descended. Instead he got himself killed by an adventurer because said adventurer asked for a duel, and Beldia being the knightly idiot he was, accepted. Then he died. Now he was sent to both find any fallen gods, and find and kill the adventurer that killed Beldia before said adventure could become a problem.

And he would definitely do that, after he set up in the dungeon he found by following the adventurers and knights. They were by the town of rookies, so it should be relatively easy to kill them. Walking into the dungeon, he followed the trail of kicked up dust. And heard a small explosion. Smirking internally at the stupidity of the adventurers that set off whatever trap that was, he started making small doll versions of himself. It was obvious that this was a trap dungeon after all due to the lack of monsters. He'd let his little automatons set off the traps and walk in behind, completely unscathed.

Restarting his walk, he whistled a tune to himself and was rudely interrupted by being blown up. It wasn't a strong one, it didn't even do any damage, but it did scuff his suit. Glaring at the doll that flew away cackling, he reconsidered his earlier assessment of the dungeon. This was probably a monster dungeon after all, filled with ambush monsters. They probably just didn't recognize him at first and attacked him by accident. He couldn't read the monster's mind which was mildly irritating but it wasn't the end of the world. He would also not be attacked any more due to the little flying monster running away.

Resetting his mentality and continuing his walk with his dolls, he heard another explosion in front of him. Scrunching his face in concentration, he could barely make out the tripwire connected to the potion bottle that caused the explosion.

"This dungeon is very odd," Vanir whispered.

Only higher level dungeons closer to the demon king castle and the front lines had both traps and monsters in them. That either meant that an adventurer set them up, or there was an intelligent monster in here. Considering the flying monster, Vanir was leaning towards the latter rather than the former.

His walk down the dungeon restarted once again, he no longer stopped for the explosions. Some came from the flying monsters, which he still couldn't sense, and other times well hidden traps. The constant explosions were starting to really grate on his limited patience when he could start feeling minds. Quickly diving into them to learn anything about what was happening, he found it was several demons being held captive by the flying monsters which he could identify as possessed dolls. It seemed they were being starved and there were quite a few of them in different cages. Continuing forward, now armed with the knowledge of where the end of the dungeon was, he bee-lined to the main chamber. Passing a few of the cages, they all suddenly opened. The demons within lunged at him, causing Vanir to quickly kill them all. Growling at the dolls that flew above him as they cackled. He shot a beam of energy at them with the intent to disperse them.

It worked, too well. They immediately scattered and ran, some brave ones staying behind to harass his dolls by shooting little bolts of mana. Several of his dolls started to crumble into earth, which annoyed him even more. The dolls cackled once more before leaving him to stew in his anger. Striding towards the main chamber he watched the last doll go through the door before it closed and locked itself. Scowling at the audacity of the dolls, he sent several of his dolls forth to destroy the door.

The door was pretty weak and immediately fell apart under the light barrage of exploding dolls. Striding through the smoke into the room, he was met with the party of adventurers he had followed, and immediately dove into their minds. He learned a lot about what he wanted to know for the mission, but it was overshadowed by the fact that the dolls were intermingled with the adventures. A giant doll stood in the center of the room behind the line of knights, and on its shoulder, stood a boy.

The boy looked to be about 9, with purple hair and glowing red eyes, much like the dolls that swarmed around him. His suit was well kept and a similar color to his hair. Trying to dive into his mind, he screamed. Pain, real pain. He had never felt pain except for when he was purified by priests or hit with holy weapons. His soul flared in agony as he desperately tried to reel his mental probe back from the pain. The boy's mind was fractured, and obviously broken in some way, to say nothing to the strange energy that saturated his mind. The energy smelled slightly floral, and seemed to taste white, no matter how impossible that was.

Agony continued to wrack his soul as it was ruthlessly attacked by the energy, overriding his connection to the boy and riding it straight back into him. Eventually, the attack started to target his mind as well as his soul. Every second that the attack lasted, the more of himself he lost to the void. The screaming eventually stopped as the attack on his soul stopped, even as the attack on his mind redoubled. Vanir collapsed into a whimpering mess on the ground. Curling into a ball to protect himself from physical attacks. As the mental attacks continued, he started to get hazy, and then stopped all movement. His soul was in shambles, and his mind was all but gone. With the last little bits of his mind, he looked at the boy that had done all of this. He felt nothing. Even as the daggers came down and shattered his mask.

Staring at Vanir as he screamed and convulsed in agony, I calmly walked towards him. I have no clue what happened, but he made eye contact with me and started losing it. He kept shaking until he fell over whimpering on the floor. I almost felt bad. Almost. Not wanting to waste the free levels that he represented to me, I stabbed his mask with the daggers and felt a rush of power. His mask cracked into two pieces before crumbling into earth with the rest of his body. Turning to view the adventurers and knights, I take in their awe. The two goddesses in attendance seem to be more scared than awed at what I did but don't say anything. Looking over my card, I start clearing out some of the lower cost items before maxing out the danmaku tree. 5 spell cards, 3 bombs and two lives. The lives confused me until I got the information on them. Every year, I could die twice and come back, at peak condition. Considering that I had more health than, "I touch the bullet wrong and die," this was only kinda broken. Looking over the new (and final) rabbit art, I shouted in shock.

"Why is it so expensive!?"

Kazuma looked over my shoulder and shouted in shock as well.

"250 points! What the fuck!?"

Megumin looked at the skill name and raised an eyebrow.

"What do you think it is?"

"The name Lunar Jump gives me the impression of a jumping skill, but I have no clue what it does. Do I jump up to the moon and land on my target at mach 10? Do I just oneshot someone by jumping on them or off them? So many questions and no answers because there is no way in hell I can buy that for a while. I'll need to kill like two, maybe three more generals before I am even close to getting this. And just considering that the lunar beam, which cost me about a tenth of the points that lunar jump costs, is an orbital bombardment beam of death, I am terrified that lunar jump may just be throwing the moon at something."

"That is fair."

The knights looked at me and bowed, "Sir, where will you go next?"

Thinking over cannon I knew that the next demon king general would be near that one axis cult town. So deciding that I would need every point at my disposal to find out what the fuck lunar jump was, I decided to go there.

"Y'all ever heard of that one hot spring town with all of the crazy people?"

The knights looked confused for a moment before nodding.

"I'm going to go over there and relax for a week so I can sleep in a real bed, eat real food, and not have to look over my back for demons. That sound good?"

"Yes sir, we'll follow you."

I tilted my head, "Why?"

"We were ordered to collect you and bring you to the royal family at your earliest convenience, but since we can't really force you, we'll just follow you around."

"Give me a week to do this, and then give me some time to relieve the crimson demons of their demon king general problem before going to your capital."

"Yes, sir, is there anything we can do to make this go faster?"

I hummed in thought and then had a wonderful idea. "Alright, so the people in the crazy town will try relentlessly to recruit us into their cult and infect us with their crazy. We'll go in, and you all will wear axis cult necklaces so they don't bother us."

The knights shuffled their feet a bit but begrudgingly agreed that my plan had some merit to it. Grinning wildly I then said the line I always had wanted to say since coming to this world.

"We ride at dawn bitches!"
