Chapter 6: The Big News
Orion Eclipse and Altair Comet traveled to a medical clinic at Autobot City for a doctor's appointment. When they checked themselves in for the medics to check on Altair's health, they were at the med bay when one of the Autobot medics, First Aid scanned Altair Comet's tank to confirm if she truly is carrying Orion's unborn sparkling, the results finally kicked in and First Aid told Orion Eclipse and his conjunx-endura the good news.
"Congratulations, my Lord and Lady! You're having a sparkling." First Aid told Orion and Altair.
Orion and Altair were surprised by the big news. "We're having a baby?!" Orion exclaimed.
Altair Comet began to tear up with joy as she looked at her husband. "Oh, Orion Eclipse! We're going to be parents," she said as she became emotionally happy but nervous at the same time. Orion held Altair's hand servo as she laid on the medical berth where First Aid scanned her lower tank.
"I'm gonna be a father...I'm gonna be a father! YES!" Orion Eclipse said as he then cheers in joy.
"Shhh! We need to keep this a secret. We can't tell our family and friends that I'm sparked just yet." Altair Comet said. Orion's smile dissolved into a frown. "Oh...Well, I can understand why? We want this to be a surprise. But still! I'm excited...while at the same time...I feel worried." he said.
"It's okay to feel that way when you two are anxious about becoming sire and carrier to your sparkling for the first time." First Aid told the couple who are going to become parents.
"We have a question though, doctor." Orion said before he asked First Aid, "Are we going to have a boy or a girl?" First Aid nodded and then replied, "I'm not sure. But perhaps when you come over for another doctor's appointment, then we will find out the gender of your future child." he told Orion Eclipse and Altair Comet.
"When are we going to share the big news with my parents and your mother, Altair?" Orion Eclipse asked his conjunx-endura.
"We're gonna have to wait until next month when we find out the gender before we tell our family and friends the good news...that we're going to have a sparkling." Altair told Orion.
Orion Eclipse teared up and made a warm smile as he then hugged Altair and they kissed passionately. By the time they were done with their doctor's appointment, they left the hospital and Orion travelled back to New Kolkular with Altair and then they went to their quarters where Orion Eclipse gently placed his hand servo onto the lower part of Altair's tank.
"I love you, Altair." Orion told his sparkmate. "I love you, too." Altair replied.
The next day, Sideswipe was in Iacon driving his way to Sunstreaker's house because he knew that Sunstreaker doesn't live with Roadbuster anymore as Sunstreaker is old enough to live by himself like Sideswipe. Sideswipe asked Roadbuster where Sunstreaker's house is as his stepfather told him that his house is 10 miles away.
When Sideswipe arrived at Sunstreaker's house and transformed into his robot mode as he approaches the front door. He was about to push the doorbell but became hesitant about making amends with him until he remembered what Strongarm told him.

"You'll just have to try I'm sure he misses you as you miss him, I always missed Dad when he's out in battle during the war on Cybertron, he's always there for me" Strongarm explained.
(Flashback ends)
Sideswipe takes a deep breath and exhales as he is calm down as he rang the doorbell as he waits for Sunstreaker as he answered it. "Sideswipe?" Sunstreaker said as he is surprised to see his twin brother there "How did you know where I live?" he asked "I asked Roadbuster and he told me" Sideswipe answered.
"May I come in?" he asked "Sure" Sunstreaker replied as Sideswipe entered his house as they sit down on the couch in the living room. "Sunstreaker...I want to apologize...about our fight at the main office in the academy of my first day...I'm sorry for behaving like that" Sideswipe explained "I'm sorry too, Brother. After, when you left the main office, Prowl told me and Roadbuster about the hard things you been through after you had ran away for all those years ago. He also told us that he saw some good in you and the reason why he wanted you to be at the academy...I'm sorry for being hard on you" Sunstreaker apologized.
"I forgive you, Sunny" Sideswipe replied as Sunstreaker let out a small smile as Sideswipe called him "Sunny" he hadn't been called that for a long time ago. "I forgive you too, Sides" Sunstreaker retorted as Sideswipe smiled too as he hadn't been called that either.
Sideswipe's smile changed to regret "Sunny...I'm sorry about our fight before the night I run away. I was tired that you treated me like a younger brother instead of an equal, I just feel like I don't belong in this family so I left and search for my destiny. Then I met Grimlock and the Dinobots as they took care of me. I missed you Sunny...every time when I think about you, I regretted that I ran away and I just want to come back" Sideswipe explained as tears come from his optics "But, I can't because I was afraid that the Decepticons would follow me and kill or capture you, so I have to stay with the Dinobots, so you and Roadbuster would be safe" Sideswipe explained in a cracked voice.
Sunstreaker is surprised by this "Sides...On the day when Mom died, I had made a promise to myself that I protect you and be your side at all times" Sunstreaker said.
(Flashback)
At the alley, Sunstreaker, who was 8 human years old was sitting at an empty Energon cube and was sparkbroken after Sideswipe told him about their mother's death as he looked at the starry sky "Mom...I promise myself that I will protect Sides and be by his side at all times" Sunstreaker said.
(Flashback ends)
"As time went by I got too far and forgot that I had to treat you like a twin...an equal, not a younger brother. Because, I was scared that I would lose you too, I needed you more than you needed me. Then before the night when you run away, I should've told you that" Sunstreaker explained as tears come from his optics "I'm sorry for not treating you like a twin" he said in a cracked voice. Suddenly, Sideswipe hugged Sunstreaker and cried as Sunstreaker hugged him back and cried "I forgive you, Sunny" Sideswipe said.
They cried for minutes as their crying died down and sniffed. "Is it okay if I say with you for the night?" Sideswipe asked "Of course" Sunstreaker said. They had dinner together, played games, and watched a movie, they felt so happy to be together like they did in the old days.
"I love you, Brother" Sideswipe said "I love you too, Brother" Sunstreaker replied "And we'll always protect each other and our family no matter what" Sideswipe retorted. When it was time to go to sleep, Sunstreaker slept in the master berthroom as Sideswipe slept in the guest berthroom.

Sideswipe and Sunstreaker were 4 human years old as they were laughing and roughhousing as their mother watches them and chuckles "Careful, boys you don't want to get hurt" she said "I was born careful, Mommy" Sideswipe said until Sunstreaker accidently slammed his head to a coffee table as Sideswipe began to cry.
Their mother, Nitroblaze picked up her son and took him to the kitchen as she placed an icepack on her son's head as she comforts him "Shhh, it's okay Sideswipe, Mommy's here and will take care of you" she said in a soft voice as Sunstreaker came to her side "I'm sorry Mama. I didn't mean to hurt Sides" Sunstreaker said as he was about to cry.
Nitroblaze picked him up and took them to the living room as they sit on the couch "It's okay Sunny, accidents happen. You just have to be more careful" she said. "I don't want to be a warrior anymore" Sideswipe said. "Don't doubt yourself, Sweetie. Warriors get hurt too, but that never stops them" she reassured him "But, I cried" Sideswipe retorted "I know, but even warriors cry too, because there's no need to be afraid to cry it's okay" she said.
"I'm sorry for slamming you at the table" Sunstreaker apologized "I forgive you" Sideswipe replied as they hugged each other and Nitroblaze kissed her sons heads. "Remember, boys...you have great potential to do great things for your friends and family" she said as they all hugged each other.

Sideswipe smiled at that sweet memory he had with his mother and brother in his sleep. Nitroblaze's spirit appeared behind Sideswipe as she smiled and is very proud of everything her son did. She kissed her son's head at the spot where his head was slammed to the table as she descended to the stars.
ONE MONTH LATER...
Orion Eclipse and Altair Comet paid a visit to the doctor and they found out the gender of their firstborn child-to-be before they decided to invite their parents over to their home which is New Kolkular, a fortress that stands tall in Kaon where it is no longer and evil place full of violence and destruction because of the Great War, but now a peaceful and democratic city. A city where its rulers, Orion Eclipse and Altair Comet, as well as the High Council, are in charge in keeping everything in order, safety, and peace where Autobots and Decepticons can treat each other as equals and can no longer be enemies with each other, thanks to the declaration of unity, equality, and the truce between both sides brought up by Orion Eclipse himself.
It was evening when Megatron and his conjunx-endura, Firestar, now renamed "Novastar", traveled to New Kolkular where they met up with Elita-One and they were wondering why their son, Orion Eclipse, invited them over to their fortress, but they were unaware that they were about to hear some great news from their son and daughter-in-law.
"Hello, mom and dad." Orion Eclipse greeted his parents.
"Hello, son." Novastar said to her son.
Altair Comet saw her mother, Elita-One, and she greeted her. "Mother. I'm so glad you came," she said.
"It's so good to see you again, Altair." Elita-One replied before hugging her daughter.
Orion Eclipse hugged his mother and father while his conjunx-endura hugged her mother. However, they only wished that Optimus Prime would return from the Allspark once again to witness the good news that his daughter and son-in-law are about to share.
Megatron chuckled. "Alright, Orion Eclipse. What's all this about? Why summon your parents and your carrier-in-law over to New Kolkular?" he asked.
Orion Eclipse and Altair Comet knew that it was time for them to tell their parents the big news that they are going to be grandparents, but they would have to find a clever way to reveal that they are going to become parents soon within a couple of months.
"Father? Mother? Elita-One? We have some exciting news we've been wanting to share with you." Orion Eclipse said.
"What is it, Orion?" Novastar asked her son.
"My love, should we tell them?" Altair asked. Orion Eclipse pulled out a present and he told his father to come forward so that he can open the present in front of Novastar and Elita-One.
"A present? For me?" Megatron asked. "For you, mom, and Elita-One." Orion Eclipse corrected. Megatron raised an eyebrow in confusion before he opened the box to reveal a sparkling binky with a note on it. Megatron, Elita-One, and Novastar were surprised and puzzled at what was going on as the former leader of the Decepticons read the note while holding the binky before he raised his voice.
"NO! NO WAY! Are you serious?!" Megatron said with a surprised look on his face.
"What IS this?!" Elita-One exclaimed as she also saw the binky, but didn't read the note. "Altair Comet! Are you...sparked?!" she asked.
"You're having a baby?!" Novastar asked as she raised her voice.
Altair Comet replied, "Yes! We're going to become sire and carrier. We ARE having a baby together." she told her mother, her father-in-law, and her mother-in-law.
"This is WONDERFUL news! I'm gonna be a grand-sire!" Megatron screamed in joy.
"Is it going to be a boy or a girl?" Novastar asked. "We just went to see a doctor yesterday and...we're having a girl!" Altair replied.
"YES! We're having a granddaughter!" Elita-One cheered with excitement.
"And we're going to have a daughter!" Orion Eclipse added.
"We're so proud of you, Altair. Your father would be very proud." Elita-One told her pregnant daughter. Altair made a sad expression, "I wished he was here to witness this." she said.
"Optimus Prime promised us that he would return from the Allspark again one day. Let's not give up hope that he will come back to meet his granddaughter soon." Megatron mentioned.
"I love all of you." Orion Eclipse said as he and his conjunx-endura gave their parents a group hug.
Orion Eclipse and Altair Comet were all happy to share the big news with their parents and after spending some time making preparations to have a daughter as they set up the baby room for their firstborn daughter-to-be, they made an announcement to their friends and to the public that they are going to have a daughter. And so, every Autobot and Decepticon who were excited to hear the news that their leaders and peacekeepers are expecting decided to throw a baby shower for Orion and Altair as they were bringing them gifts.
Bumblebee, now known by his Prime name as, "Hivemus Prime" was invited to the baby shower and he was excited about becoming an uncle to his future niece as he traveled over to New Kolkular to pay a visit to his surrogate sister and his brother-in-law. As for Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, and Strongarm, they were also invited along with Ultra Magnus, the former leader of the Autobots and Optimus Prime's commander, as well as the other Autobots who were invited to Orion and Altair's baby shower: Bulkhead, Ratchet, Hot Rod, Arcee, Knock Out, Breakdown, Wheeljack, Ironhide, Chromia, and especially Orion Eclipse's adopted brother and Megatron's surrogate son, Smokescreen.
"Thank you all so much for coming." Orion Eclipse said to all of his guests.
"Bumblebee! Uh, I mean, Hivemus Prime! You're here!" Altair Comet said as she greeted her adopted brother.
"You can still call me 'Bumblebee', sis. I'm so glad to see you again." the yellow and black Autobot Prime said.
"How was your girlfriend, Charlie Watson?" Altair asked.
"She's doing great. She's at home spending time with her family." Hivemus Prime said to his adopted sister.
"Bee! Am I glad to see you, my old friend." Orion Eclipse greeted.
"Orion. I don't know what to say to you except, congratulations! Are you and my sister going to have a boy or a girl?" Hivemus Prime asked.
"Well, we went to see the doctor and he said that we're going to have a daughter." Orion Eclipse told his brother-in-law.
"That's amazing! I'm going to be an uncle?! That's great news." Hivemus Prime said before he said in a sad tone. "I wish dad was here to see this." Orion Eclipse knew the feeling as he also missed his father-in-law Optimus Prime. "I miss him too. I promised Optimus Prime that I would take good care of his daughter and I hope that he does return from the Allspark since it's been like 4 years since we last saw him. The year was 2018 when he came back from the Allspark to help us defeat Unicron and his Herald, Doomsayer, or as he renamed himself, 'Galvatron', before Optimus returned to the Allspark. Now it's 2022 and we're still waiting for his return." the Decepticon leader and peacekeeper said.
Hivemus Prime sighed before he replied, "Well...we thought that he wouldn't come back in 2013 when the Great War was over and he did return to help us save the universe 5 years later when Doomsayer resurrected Unicron to endanger Earth and Cybertron in the name of destroying our life-giver, Primus. But I do hope that dad would return someday because even after everything we did like declaring a truce between Autobots and Decepticons, saving Earth and Cybertron, destroying Unicron and Doomsayer a.k.a Galvatron, and starting a new Golden Age...I miss him still." Hivemus Prime told Orion Eclipse.
"I miss him too, Bee. We all miss him. Also, I'm surprised that the Sword of Primus chose you to become the next Prime. I wonder why it didn't choose me to become a Prime when Optimus said that I was the Autobots' only hope at defeating the New Decepticon horde." Orion said.
"They say that a weapon forged by one of the Thirteen Original Primes or even Primus himself can only find one worthy of becoming a Prime if their spark is pure. I also believe that Primus works in mysterious ways and I might've assumed that the reason why the Sword of Primus might've chosen me to become Hivemus Prime was because our worlds were in danger and that I was the only bot who could help you and our fathers defeat Galvatron." Hivemus Prime told his brother-in-law.
"That could be the reason. But still, I'm just glad that you're here...Hivemus Prime." Orion said.
Hivemus Prime smiled at Orion Eclipse before he said to him, "You know...The Sword of Primus may not have chosen you to be the next Prime, Orion, but I believe that you don't have to become a Prime to be a great warrior. You can be a hero in your own way...I only wished that my foster father was here to teach me how to be a Prime because being a Prime is a huge responsibility." he said.
"Which was why our brother, Smokescreen chose not to become a Prime when he chose to save Optimus Prime from when the Autobots' base was destroyed using the Phase Shifter before Smokey saved him from dying by using the Forge of Solus Prime to give him an upgrade rather than have the Matrix of Leadership be passed down onto him by Optimus himself when he was on the verge of dying." Orion Eclipse recalled.
"Yes. Because even though Smokescreen wanted to be a great warrior, he realized that becoming a Prime would put a heavy of responsibility onto his shoulders. But now that I am a Prime, I guess I'm gonna have to get used to being called 'Hivemus Prime' rather than 'Bumblebee' which was a name given to me by Optimus Prime and Elita-One when they adopted me as an orphan sparkling when the Great War was still going on Cybertron." Hivemus said.
"It'll be alright. If you ever need any help. We're here for you. You don't have to worry about a thing." Orion Eclipse promised his brother-in-law.
"Hey, guys." Smokescreen greeted Hivemus Prime and Orion Eclipse. "Hi, Smokescreen. What's up?" Orion Eclipse asked his adopted brother. "I'm here to congratulate you and Altair Comet on having a baby. I'm also here to tell you that my son, Flashblades, says that he's excited about meeting his future cousin." Smokescreen explained.
"Oh, well I believe I've met Flashblades." Hivemus Prime told Smokescreen. "He's a pretty good kid." he said.
"My dad says that he's a good sport. How old is your son now, Smokey?" Orion Eclipse asked his adopted brother. "About 4 years old now. I still feel like it was yesterday when I carried him after Moonracer and I became sparkmates.
(Flashback)
Megatron was sent by Smokescreen and Moonracer to go on a scavenger hunt and after finding some baby items, he went over to visit his adopted son and his conjunx-endura at their house. Megatron chuckled as he seemed a bit confused as to what is going on. "Alright, Smokescreen, Moonracer. What's all this about?" he asked.
Smokescreen smiled and told his adopted father, "Well, didn't you find anything that's connected to what we're about to tell you? You know, during your Scavenger Hunt?" he asked.
Huh. Now that I think about it, my son Orion Eclipse and I found Altair Comet's birth certificate. Then we found a sparkling pod. Then we found an Energon binky, and then...Wait..." Megatron gasped as he then began to ask despite being surprised at the realization he was having, "No way! Are you two...?"
Moonracer looks to Smokescreen and he looks to her, "Should we tell him, honey?" she asked. Smokescreen replied, "I think we should, dear." he said before the couple said to Megatron in unison, "We're having a baby sparkling!" they said.
"Y-You mean...I'm gonna be a grandfather!?" Megatron exclaimed. "Yes! But that's not all." Moonracer replied. "Oh? Then what else should I know about your announcement?" Megatron asked. Smokescreen walked towards his foster father and tells him, "Um, dad?...I'm...I'm sparked." he announced.
Megatron made a moment of surprised silence before he asked, "Is this true?" Smokescreen nodded, "Yes. I'm—I'm carrying Moonracer's sparkling." he answered. Megatron was speechless. "How did...how did your conjunx-endura sparked you?" he asked as if he's never heard or seen a mech becoming pregnant before despite being at the time when Breakdown was carrying Knock Out's son, Wildbreak.
Moonracer answered the question as she explained to Megatron, "Well, we were both "getting busy" at our berthroom inside our home when we decided that we both wanted to have a sparkling. So, we sparkbonded and I...inserted my own spike into Smokescreen's valve and I filled his Energon womb with my own spark. The next day we knew after a few hours up until then...Smokescreen had the morning sickness until we discovered that he's sparked."
Megatron's optics widened, "By the Allspark...! Smokescreen, my boy, are you going to be okay?" he asked, almost worried. "Yes, dad, I am going to be okay." Smokescreen assured his adopted father. "Does every other Autobot or Decepticon know that you two are expecting?" Megatron asked.
"Yes. Ratchet did a scan and confirmed that my conjunx-endura is "pregnant" as humans would call it on Earth. We decided to keep it a secret until we eventually shared the Big News to Knock Out, Hot Rod, Blurr, Orion Eclipse, Altair Comet, and even Bumblebee—Ah, I mean, Hivemus Prime." Moonracer told her surrogate father-in-law.
Smokescreen was feeling hungry as he told his conjunx-endura, "Moonracer? I'm kinda craving for some Energon again." Moonracer kissed Smokescreen on the cheek. "Don't worry, my love. We'll get you some more of it. Especially for our baby." she promised. "Did you two find out the gender yet?" Megatron asked the couple. Smokescreen replied, "No, we haven't found out if it's a boy or a girl yet, dad. But if it's a girl, Moonracer and I will call her "Frostline" in memory of my late carrier. But if it's a boy, we'll probably name him "Orion Pax" in honor of Optimus Prime, "Omegatron" or "Alphatron" in honor of Alpha Trion, Omega Supreme, and even you, dad. Or we could give our would-be son a more original name that Moonracer suggested, like "Flashblades"."
"Those are good name suggestions. I'm so proud of both of you." Megatron said before he looks at Smokescreen's tank. "May I feel the baby?" he asked. Smokescreen nodded, "No thanks. The sparkling is still developing inside my Energon womb. We should give it some time before I get a baby bump and then I'll let you know when you can feel our unborn sparkling and your grandchild." he told Megatron.
Megatron was disappointed at first, but he took it well, "Fair enough. I just want you to know that I may not be your biological sire, but I am thankful to Primus that you are my adopted son and I am proud of you and Moonracer. I look forward to meeting my surrogate grandson or granddaughter when he or she is born." he told Smokescreen.
Smokescreen was getting emotional as he told his adopted father, " I-I love you, Megatron." he said. "And I love you too, Smokescreen. My adopted son." Megatron replied before hugging his adopted son.
