Early the next morning, Quinn found herself lying on a table with her legs spread wide for someone other than her wife.
The two of them had woken up early due to Quinn's morning sickness and once she had recovered, Santana had made her a healthy fruit bowl, as it seemed to be one of the only meals she could keep down early in the morning.
"Tana, will you please stop pacing? You don't need to be nervous."
"I know Q, I know. But I am nervous. This is the first time I'm going to see and hear my baby. Our baby. We might even know the gender within the next half an hour and I'm nervous but also so excited about it." Santana explained, while still pacing the length of the small examination room.
"I know. But please, you're putting me on edge. Please sit here with me?" Quinn asked gently.
Santana looked over to her pleading wife and immediately caved. She obediently sat down on the stool next to the bed and took Quinn's hand in both of her own before kissing it gently.
Before any more words were spoken there OBYGN entered through the door.
Holly Holiday is an attractive, tall blonde, who is always chirpy and full of life.
"Quinn! It's so nice to see you again. This must be your now wife? She is even better looking than you described! Santana, is it?" Holly rambled, whilst holding her hand for Santana to shake, who complied immediately.
"You been talking me up to our doctor Lucy Q?" Santana quipped with a quick wink in her wife's direction, whose cheeks blushed immediately.
"You are all she spoke about the first time we met. It was 'Santana this and Santana that'. The only two topics were you and the wedding. And considering there is a new gorgeous diamond ring on Quinn's finger, congratulations must be in order!" Holly carried on, whilst sanitising her hands and pulling on some gloves.
Santana laughed whilst watching the shy look blanket Quinn's face, so she leaned down for a soft peck in order to reassure her wife that it was just teasing.
"We tied the knot about two weeks ago." Quinn explained.
"Well I bet the day was gorgeous. So, shall we get started?"
The couple nodded and Holly explained the simple steps that were required for the ultra sound before starting the process.
Santana was still trying to comprehend what was happening when she heard the rapid thumping filling the room.
It took her a second to realise that she was hearing her baby's heartbeat for the first time, and it was like music to her ears. Nothing has ever sounded more beautiful to her. When she looked over to her wife, her vision was blurry due to the tears swimming in her own eyes, Quinn's reflecting the same thing.
"I'm very happy to say you've got a very healthy baby on your hands ladies."
Santana let out a deep sign of relief, she knows that Quinn has told her multiple times over the past couple of hours that there's nothing to worry about, but she still had.
"Would you like to know what you're having?" Holly excitedly asked.
"You can tell? Like you're definitely sure?" Quinn spoke.
"I would bet everything I own on it sweet cheeks. There's no doubt in my mind."
Santana and Quinn shared a quick look, but they both knew they were each desperate to know. Quinn nodded at Holly and that was all she needed.
"Well girls, congratulations, you're having a little.."
"So, what do you think they're going to have?" Alex asked, as she, Blaine and Kurt were sitting around drinking coffee at Frankie's. Mercedes had recently found herself a man, but was being very tight lipped about him so far.
"I'm hoping for a little girl. Imagine a little Quinn that we can dress up, my god she will be the most gorgeous little girl we ever laid eyes on." Kurt cooed.
"I think it's a girl too. However, I know San always wanted a boy. She just wanted a little boy that she could teach to play football and play catch with in the yard. It's all the things Emilio used to do with her when she was younger, they're some of her fondest memories of her father." Said Blaine.
"I think it's a little boy. I can see San doing all them things with a little boy, but he will definitely be a mommy's boy. He'll be all Quinn, you watch." Alex quipped, with a mischievous twinkle in her eye. "You two want to have a little bet?"
Kurt instantly agreed but Blaine took a little more convincing, but was quite easily swayed over.
Conversation soon took a turn and Kurt began to question the soldiers about their prominent return to the battlefield.
"Well San and I fly out tomorrow morning. It's not great, I mean that place was a complete shithole that we left and I know this time was so hard on San. I could see it in her eyes, we didn't have any telecoms for weeks, the only contact she had with Quinn was through the slowest mail in the world and I think it really took it's toll on her." Alex glumly responded.
"She's so good at compartmentalising her feelings, she'll be able to just shut down and do what she needs to when the time comes but I know she's finding it harder and harder each time she leaves. I don't know whether she's going to re-enlist. I know she was born to do this job, but she has a family to worry about now." Blaine stated.
"I don't think Santana is ready to give it up yet." Kurt inputs. "When do you fly out Blaine?"
"Day after tomorrow, bright and early." Blaine said, whilst bringing his mug up to his lips, maintaining eye contact with his ex.
"And have you thought about whether you're re-enlisting?" Kurt quizzed, still maintaining their eye contact.
"I've thought about it. But I've not yet come to a final decision."
Alex watched on as the two indirectly flirted with each other. She knew they were both ready to be together again, but she also knew that maintaining a healthy relationship whilst Blaine was away wasn't as easy as Santana and Quinn made it look. But she knew that they would find their way back to eachother when the time was right.
Once Santana and Quinn had left the doctors, they found themselves on their usual date before deployment.
They had been for some food, then for ice cream and Quinn was feeling good, so they had been dancing. Still attending the same bar with the Latin music Santana had taken her too the first time.
They had giggled and danced, kissed and cuddled all night and all the way home. Which is now where they found themselves snuggled together on the sofa in the living room. Kurt, Blaine and Alex were still out and Mercedes had been gone before anyone had woken up.
The wed couple were making out like teenagers, when they heard voices outside the door.
"Oh my god, Cedes is back. Be quiet, I'm going to see who her date is." Santana hushed.
"Tana, leave her alone. She'll tell us about him when she's ready." Quinn replied, trying to pull Santana back down by her wrist.
"Q.." She whined, "please let me go and see. If I don't find out today then it might be ages before I do."
Quinn released her arm and allowed Santana to spy on her best friend.
She knows I'm a sucker for that pout.
Santana slowly crept towards the front door, careful not to make a sound and glanced up into the peephole.
"Oh my god." She mumbled under her breath.
"Who is it?" Quinn eagerly asked. All thoughts of leaving Mercedes to her own privacy out of the window.
Santana quickly hopped back to the sofa and sat back down next to her wife, as not to look out of place once Mercedes entered the apartment.
"So?" Quinn pushed, still without answer.
"Mercedes is dating Sam. As in Sam from when I lived in Dallas! The same Sam that came back for my bachelorette party!" Santana whisper shouted.
"Aw. I think that's really cute. From when I spoke to him, Sam was really nice. He'll be good for her." Quinn cooed.
"He's a good guy Quinn. But we can't have any more soldiers in this apartment. Half of the US army is going to be in this apartment on mid-tour breaks." Santana joked, yet it was not received well with her wife.
Quinn somberly looked downwards, focusing her eyes on her fingers, which were nervously playing with the pull string on Santana's shorts. The playful and giggling mood the girls had been in all day was now gone, without a trace.
The excitement of past couple weeks, Santana returning home, the baby, the wedding, the honeymoon, all a distant memory for Quinn now, as reality came crashing back down. Her Santana, her wife, her baby's Mami, was going to be gone again in the morning, for god knows how long.
"Hey darling, look at me." Santana gently requested, yet received no response. "Lucy, look at me." She asked again. Hazel eyes slowly travelled up her body until they connected. "It won't be for long. Three months okay? We've done longer. In three months time, you'll be 7 months along. It will nearly be time to meet our baby Quinn."
"I know. I just want you here all the time. Before you say anything, I know that this is the life I signed up to, but I can't help that that's the way I feel, you know?"
"I do. I'm sorry that it's like this. I wish things could have been different, things could have been easier for you." Santana said dejectedly.
"No baby. I don't want anything to have changed. Everything that happened got us to where we are today. I just wish we didn't have to spend so much time apart."
Before Santana could respond, they heard the front door open and more than one set of footsteps enter the apartment.
"I can't believe we missed him. How is that even possible if you were still outside the apartment?" Alex frustratedly exclaimed, throwing her hands up in the air.
The unmistakable sound of Mercedes laughing, following afterwards.
Santana dragged her eyes away from the hazel ones she adored and addressed the intruders.
"Hey guys." She watched as Alex slumped herself into the armchair, whilst Kurt and Blaine resided on the love seat and Mercedes sat the other side of Quinn.
They all quickly discussed their nights, Mercedes still keeping her cards close to her chest in regards to her mystery man, but finding the bombard of questions from Alex and Kurt entertaining anyway.
Quinn quietly sat cocooned into Santana's side, mindlessly still paying with the drawstrings on the Latina's shorts. She was brought back to reality when she felt a light kiss on her head.
"Do you want to go to bed?"
She replied with a nod of her head and the two wished everyone goodnight before resigning to their room. They both quietly followed their nightly routine before gently curling together beneath the covers.
"I love you Lucy, you know that, right?"
Quinn moved to bring her hand up to cradle Santana's face, one of her favourite things to do, she just always felt it was so intimate.
"Of course I do. It's the one thing in this world I will never doubt." She replied before leaning in for a soft kiss. It lingered. It didn't break. At all.
In fact, it only got deeper and deeper and then Quinn knew the talking was over and they were at the point of no return.
She pushed her hand beneath the blanket and travelling south under the band of Santana's boxers. Cautiously wrapping her hand over the flaccid appendage, she started to tug, causing Santana to gasp into her own mouth.
She increased her speed and flicked her thumb over the head, getting Santana to keen and jut her hips. They kept their lips close, licks and nips lovingly exchanged whilst Quinn worked Santana to full hardness.
Once she had achieved her goal, she pulled down her own boxers and threw them aside, along with her t-shirt, Santana doing the same, before turning on her side, with her back to her love.
"This is how I'm comfiest at the moment." She explained, and Santana immediately understood.
A tan hand gently caressed from a firm behind, down her leg to her knee, when she carefully grabbed it and brought it backwards, covering her own thigh, ensuring to make this the comfiest she could for her wife.
She then moved her hand back around to the front of Quinn and slid her hand towards her centre, where she was met with a nice warm and wet reward. She quickly located her wife's clit and circled it quickly, causing Quinn to involuntarily grind back against her hardened appendage pressing against her back, trying to find some friction.
No words needed to be exchanged whilst they were moving, they both knew exactly what the other wants and needs.
Once Quinn began to pant, Santana knew that she was ready, so she slowly retracted her fingers, licking them clean, before reaching down to her dick and lining it up with Quinn's entrance. She lifted Quinn's leg, that was over her own, slightly upwards before sliding herself forwards.
Quinn silently screamed as she felt every inch of Santana push through her tight channel, until she could be filled no more.
Once Santana was at the hilt, she lowered Quinn's leg back down and groaned herself, at the feeling of tightness that it supplied. Her wife was wonderfully tight anyway but this was even more than usual.
She kissed repeatedly behind Quinn's ear before asking, "Is this okay? Do you feel okay?"
"It feels amazing. Don't let me go."
"Never baby. I've got you." Santana whispered back before starting her rhythm.
She moved slowly but soon realised that it was so much more effort like this than any other position they're used to. Not that she minds at all because the noises that are escaping her wife's pretty mouth have her believing that it feels just as good for her better half.
They moved slowly and rhythmically as Quinn threw her arm back to encircle Santana's neck and pull her forward to connect their lips. Santana pushed her free arm back south ways to circle Quinn's clit and heighten her arousal.
Quinn had been a lot more sensitive whilst pregnant and Santana just loved to make her feel better and knew the kinds of pressure Quinn could take in which moments.
Once they had both reached climax, the others name on their lips they both slowly succumbed to sleep, much quicker than any night before deployment ever.
Quinn waved Santana off the morning after with a heavier heart than usual. Replaying the events of their last couple of hours over and over again in her mind. Their last exchanged words constantly plaguing her mind.
"Santana you have to make it back to me now. I can't raise this baby alone. I need you here with me, you're my wife now and our baby needs their Mami."
"Quinn, I'm coming back. I'm always coming back to you. I will call you as soon as I can, like always. I love you, okay? Both of you. I'll see you soon."
That conversation was over 2 months ago, their last conversation. Santana never called. She never wrote. She had fallen off the face of the earth. Quinn had tried different ways to find out any information that she could, but had had no such luck.
She had tried to reach Santana through texts and through Skype but had never received a response. She had tried to contact Alex the same way. Blaine knew nothing either and was growing increasingly worried. He had tried to gather some information in an attempt to soothe his sister-in-laws mind but he always came up empty. Wherever Santana had been deployed and whatever had happened when her and Alex had landed was now classified information. No one knew where their beloved soldiers had gone.
AN: Hey!
Hope this was okay for you all.
I've just been on my annual trip to the states so I managed to get this one written on my long flights.
The interest on this one is still decreasing but as always, I'm still going with it, so if anyone is still ready, please stay with me a little longer :)
