"Actually I'm sure the boss won't mind taking responsibility considering how he has been mentioning recently on asking you two ladies out on a date soon… right Cedric?... may as well be a way to celebrate he news and to make sure a certain lady wolf doesn't try and skin you alive?... I mean he has sex with a number of woman so I'm sure he would be prepared in case one of them got knocked up right?" Obsidian said while nudging Cedric out of his shocked state so he could go along with Obsidian's train of thought.
Cedric blinks a bit after hearing that.
"Y-Yes. Need to… take Tangle and Whisper out and show them I'll be responsible." He said making Tangle blush.
"Nice… wait… do those like Surge, Lanolin, and the others from the scout group know about this Whisper?" Obsidian asked Whisper since some would want to know about this like Tangle and Whisper's close friends and allies.
"They know as they were also getting tested but the second we saw the results I immediately went to hunt down this fool." Whisper said as she glares at Cedric.
"Err… you know that Cedric isn't like those asshole wolfmen right?... I mean ask Tangle… did Cedric force her and stuff at the warehouse?... pretty sure Cedric running wild in his anger would show not all wolfmen are bad." Obsidian said to try and help Cedric out.
Whisper still frowns.
"No. Guess not."
"Yeah… look just give Cedric a shot OK?... believe me, Cedric would rather get castrated and go by a name called Cedrina than ever harm a woman like that… well… unless it was a kink of theirs or they deserve it… point is… Cedric is the most gentlemanly kind of wolfman you will see… which is a shame given the rest of the Wolf Kingdom really needs to get his personality… no offence Cedric… Whisper." Obsidian said since Cedric was a wolf mobian but Whisper was one as well but of a different type of Wolf mobian species.
"None taken… Look Whisper, I get it that you don't trust me but… I'm not running from this. I promise to make Tangle… and you happy and also be there for the kid. Pack mentality is important." Cedric said.
Whisper slowly closed her eyes as she looks from Cedric.
"Fine… I'll see how things go… for now Tangle and I are going shopping for a crib and various items for when the kid comes so lets say in two days we come for a date to see if things click… if not… well I wouldn't force a father from his child but try and not make it so you try and make yourself out as mine and Tangle's lover… she and I are married after all so not like we had men as the first options in our minds." Whisper said while she looks at Cedric with her now squinted look showing she was more relaxed now.
"I understand." Cedric said.
"Good… come on Tangle… we should get going… oh and Obsidian, Surge and a few other ladies are looking for you." Whisper said making Obsidian jolt.
"Wait… no one is pregnant are they?" Obsidian said with Whisper looking at him.
"No… than again Surge could have done the deed but she would have boasted in her knocking up someone like Eruru or maybe Jasmine… no seems they were trying to find you to ask you on a date but given how… finicky you are to find with that Aura stuff with your illusions, you really should give them a call." Whisper said while she opened one eye making Obsidian jolt when Whipser looks serious in that he should call the ladies he had.
"Yeah… you probably should Obsidian." Cedric said but has a thought.
'Hope Honey and Lanolin aren't pregnant. Don't know about Surge… then Lei and Tei.'
Obsidian though had a question.
"Wait… just to make sure, considering that you ladies should have gotten birth control and more at the hospital… you sure this before or after the Warehouse?" Obsidian asked as Tangle blushed.
"Well… had a few run ins with Cedric after… and…" Tangle said as Obsidian hums.
"Ahhhhh… welp… if it happened after and stuff, can't say that it would be impossible for you to get knocked up… Cedric is a virile guy from what some of his ladies say when they get together and talk… sometimes… a bit too loud at Gramps's place… made it hard for me to eat sometimes when they share sex stories…" Obsidian said while he sweatdrops at the memories.
"The… vivid stories…" Obsidian said like he was experiencing PTSD or something right now.
Cedric sweatsdrops.
"If it makes you feel better, sis likes to dream about you and it's hard for me to sleep since our rooms are next door… I may need my own place."
Obsidian blushed at this.
"I am so sorry." Obsidian said as he bows to Cedric profusely in a rapid way.
"Wait… you don't live on your own yet?" Whisper said as Obsidian looks at her.
"Until recently Cedric woke from a 4 to 5 year long coma… since than he has been training to get back in shape, and was on missions daily so he hasn't had many chances to find a new place to live…" Obsidian said which would explain things as Whisper looks at Tangle and she rubs her head.
"I see… given things… as long as you're willing to not cause issues… and since you did knock Tangle up… why not move in with her and I?" Whisper offered which was shocking since SHE of all people said that.
"R-Really Whisper?" Tangle said as she was surprised by her wife's words.
"What?... don't want Cedric near you?... I may not like most men much but… Obsidian does have a point… Cedric isn't the worst guy around… and he should be responsible for what he did to you…" Whisper said when she looks at her wife with squinted eyes.
"Well… you have a point." Tangle said.
Cedric rubs his head.
"Well… may have to speak about this to my parents since they'll need to know about their first grandchild."
"Well I wish you luck with that… come on Tangle, we need to get to the store since I heard there is a special that can allow easy access to some baby items we will need…" Whisper said as she held her wife's hand and starts leading Tangle away from the duo.
Cedric took a breath.
"Oh boy… this was so awkward."
"No kidding… though… your tail says otherwise… hehe… happy to be a dad soon?" Obsidian said when he saw Cedric's tail wagging so much it kicked up dust behind him.
Cedric blushes from this.
"G-Get back to your burger."
Obsidian looks amused as he finished his burger in a few bites, got up, and cracked his neck.
"Well it was nice speaking with you Cedric…" Obsidian said while Cedric had a feeling that Obsidian was going somewhere.
"Wait… why say it like that." Cedric asked as Obsidian sighs.
"Well depending on the mission Sally is sending me on, you may have to rely on Yami to handle the Echidna… I'm being sent as a spy into the Wolf Kingdom solo to try and gather inside info on what they are planning… thanks to my illusions, I don't need an actual disguise since I can look like a Wolf mobian to many without much issue." Obsidian said while he looks at Cedric seriously now.
Cedric was surprised.
"Seriously?" He said.
"Yup… I'm going to be gone for a long time so I'm going to ask you a favor and take care of the ladies I have to leave here… I'm sure they can take care of themselves though…" Obsidian said before he smirks.
"Try and not knock them up if they get amorous and if Eruru finds someone new… well… its been an honor being in In-law even for a short time Cedric…" Obsidian said before he chuckles a bit.
Cedric didn't like the sound of that.
"Try not to joke like that. Not in a rush to be a dad… besides having a kid already plus… I don't want my sister sad if something happens."
Obsidian on his end calms down and chuckles.
"I know… still after you got in your coma… and how the scouts were pretty much raped… it shows even strong people are not invincible… I just… want some comfort in knowing that while I'm gone they will be taken care of… Surge is pretty tough and bounced back but the others… some are touch in go in recovery mentally… and you were out for many years in that coma with dream training… all I'm saying is that anything could happen and if anything does happen here with the ladies I have and you… well I trust you to not let them down and stuff OK?" Obsidian said while he gave Cedric a small smile with a serious look in his eyes.
Cedric sees the look.
"Well don't worry. I will make sure they are safe."
"Good… by the way, shouldn't you be going to Aleena now for your date?... you said she had free time right?" Obsidian said while he looks at a nearby clock.
Cedric jolts.
"Oh crap!" He said before he left some cash on the table to help with the bill and uses his speed to run fast.
As this happened… Obsidian watched Cedric run off and Obsidian just spoke when a person appeared near him.
"So… is the group I requested for this mission ready?" Obsidian said to the figure who looked feminine and she looked to wear some kind of Kunoichi outfit.
"Indeed sir. They are ready for your orders."
"Good… I'll be heading to the Wolf Kingdom soon… I need to visit one more place so have the men and women I picked head to their assigned areas." Obsidian said as he got up from his seat and placed his own cash on the table before he starts walking away with his hands in his pockets as he fades from view like a mirage..
'This is gonna be an interesting mission.' The Kunoichi thought.
As the Kunoichi vanished, the scene went to Obsidian or a clone of his as he was bowing to Sally and Sally alone in some kind of room.
"I said my goodbyes Milady… I'm ready for this mission… even if it may take me a few years to complete." Obsidian said while he looks Sally in the eyes seriously.
Sally nods her head.
"Good luck Obsidian and hope you comeback safe."
"Hopefully… depending on the mission you gave me… this could go from a simple intel gathering mission to an assassination one… I offered to do either myself with handpicked people to help with this so don't think you are to blame if things go bad." Obsidian said while he gave Sally a serious look.
"Still… we have a deal right?... as long as I do this mission… you'll make sure those like Eruru and others like Surge and others I care about are cared for right?" Obsidian said while he looks at Sally seriously.
Sally was also serious.
"Of course. I never go back on my word, Obsidian."
"Good… and I'll make sure no one like Sonic or Cedric hear of this… not until you tell them long after my real self is gone for the wolf kingdom… Sonic being a hero wouldn't like this trickery and Cedric… well… being a brother in law wouldn't like the fact that my real job is to be an assassin here… sure the band of seven normally work together for missions like that but… they are well too known to do what I do… may as well call me a Shadow leader of a new band of 7… may as well call us the 7 Shadows or something like that if you want to make a name for that." Obsidian said before he starts to wobble.
"Oh?... Looks like my real self is leaving the town's border now… I'll send a message later Sally when we are settled but all in all… tell everyone sorry since I won't be back for awhile." Obsidian said as his illusion fades leaving Sally alone after seeing Obsidian's grinning face.
Sally sighs.
"Just come back soon Obsidian. Don't want a funeral to happen."
Sally then left the room so she could prep for when Cedric gets here and stuff.
When she did, she met up with Sonic and the duo were in the throne room and wait for Cedric to arrive…
After a bit, Cedric enters the room.
"Hey, sorry if I'm late."
"No problem Cedric and… wait… what are you wearing?" Sonic said when he blinks when he saw Cedric in a…. Comically classy tuxedo… complete with a red bow…
"Oh this, it's for my date with Aleena." Cedric said.
"I… uh…. See…" Sonic said as Sally giggles at Cedric's antics.
"Well don't worry, I'm sure Aleena will enjoy the date no matter where it is." Sally said when she smiles as she looks at a guard.
"Let Aleena know that Cedric is here for her date." Sally ordered to the guard.
The guard nods their head and starts leaving to find Aleena.
After this happened, Cedric waits with Sally, Sonic, and a number of guards.
"So… what kind of date do you have planned for Aleena?" Sally asked when she smiles at Cedric.
"Oh, I'm taking her to this play she wants to see called.. Hamilton." Cedric said (A/N from Atomsk: yes folks… I went there.)
"And after that, a nice restaurant."
"I see… well I hope the date goes well on your end Cedric." Sally said when she smiles kindly as Aleena came into the room in a fancy dress.
"Hey Cedric, sorry for the wait." Aleena said when she smiles at Cedric with a cute look on her face.
Cedric blushes at the from that.
"No worries. You look beautiful."
"Hehe thanks… and you look dashing." Aleena said when she approached Cedric and gestured for him to stand.
Cedric did so as Sally giggles.
"Aren't you two cute." She said.
Aleena blushed as Cedric rubs his head as Sonic looks amused.
"Well you two better get going… not sure where this… first part of your date is… but given the time… should make sure that you're not late for the opening act." Sonic said while he points at a clock.
"Oh man, we better get going." Cedric said as he grabs Aleena's hand.
Aleena felt this and smiles as she and Cedric walk out of the throne room.
Sonic chuckled.
"Man, we're gonna have one interesting in law if things get further with them."
"Indeed… should be fun to have double dates in the future… I mean… when was the last time WE went on a date?" Sally said while her eyes gleam when she glanced at Sonic for a moment making Sonic jolt big time from this.
'Oh boy.' Sonic thought.
"W-Well we can go on a date now." He said.
Sally looks amused.
"Maybe another day… make sure to plan one that is good but not too fancy… may as well make sure you stew a bit with ideas and NOT rush to make a slapdash date hehe." Sally said when she grins at her husband.
Sonic chuckles nervously.
"R-Right. I'll make sure it's a great date."
"Good… I hope for a good date… may get a… honeymoon end if you plan things well… I've been eager to have another heir for the throne…" Sally said when she got up from her throne and Sonic gained a comical serious Jojo looking face when he heard this.
"I will not fail you." Sonic said as if he was now a man on a mission.
"Good…" Sally said when she walked away with her ass swaying in Sonic's view.
Sonic grins.
'Get ready babe… after this date… we're giving our kids new siblings.' Sonic thought.
A few days pass since than… after this, the scene showed a plane with Tails in it… he was an adult with Cream in a Co-pilot seat while in a back part of the plane… was Knuckles… he was riding it in to greet some Echidna's he was told about by Obsidian and given the stuff he heard… he felt glad to have trained since he wanted to make sure these Echidna's would be good enough to come to Angel Island if they were able to.
"You doing okay Knuckles?" Tails said in the intercom.
"Hmmm?... Yeah I am… was just wondering how those Echidna's will react to seeing me… heard a lot from Obsidian and others about them being… the aggressive types… depending on this meeting, may not allow them on the Island until a test is done." Knuckles said while he had a serious tone to his voice.
Cream tries to put her two scents.
"I'm sure they're not that bad. Should give them a chance."
"Heard from Kyra when she didn't hold back in that they tried to rape her when Cedric started to lose that trial he was in… and there is also the past I had with guarding the Master Emerald… ALONE… I get your trying to help Cream but can you look me in the eyes and tell me things will be instantly OK from the get go when I'm dealing with Echidna's who maybe worse than the ones who caused Angel Island to float in the sky?" Knuckles said while he looks at Cream on a monitor.
Cream was quiet for a bit.
"Well you have a point." She said.
"Yeah… look Cream I'll give them the Benefit of the doubt but given that my people for the most part were either power hungry for my tribe… or potential rapists on this groups resume… can't blame me for being on guard… I mean if a female Echidna tried to have their way with Tails… would you be cool with it?" Knuckles said when he gave Cream a serious look to have her think on that one.
Cream didn't like the sound of that.
"Well no I won't."
"Good… shows you have senses…. I'll greet them but if they cause trouble… no way will I let them on Angel Island." Knuckles said before he fell silent during the plane ride.
Tails and Cream sweatdrop but couldn't blame Knuckles for this as the ride was now silent.
After the trio got to the Castle, Cream, standing taller than Knuckles by a small amount next to a normal mobian adult sized Tails enter the throne room with Knuckles looking serious as he saw Sonic and Sally on the throne while his eyes were drawn to various Echidna's… about 4 of them… 2 males… 2 females…
"So… these are the Echidna's I heard about?" Knuckles said when he made himself known to the group.
"Indeed Knuckles." Sally said.
"Yeah Knucklehead… you should be excited." Sonic said as Knuckles looks at him with narrowed eyes.
"I was until I heard about what they did to Kyra from Kyra herself on first meeting…" Knuckles said while he had a serious look in his gaze.
Sonic cringes.
'Crap… not good.' He thought as one male echidna stepped forward.
"We won't deny that it did happen but… we don't wish to cause further issues."
"Good… I should let you know two things then… one… until you gain my trust, you Echidna's are not allowed on Angel Island… before ANYONE says anything… neither Sonic NOR Sally have authority over me… I guarded the Master Emerald with my life for years… I'm not letting flight risks cause me headaches until you guys are proved trustworthy… and if you say something like can I really stop you…" Knuckles said before he surprised many who could see Aura by emitting an abnormally strong earth attributed Aura.
"I learned Aura from Kyra and Obsidian with Sally's permission when Cedric was on your Island… unlike Cedric who has places to go and more… I'm not leaving the Island easily so I trained my ass off to make sure that if you do go to the Island… you four should know that I won't be easy to take down if you have hidden agendas… unlike Sonic and Sally here who may think suggesting I take some people to my Island is a good thing… I want to remind many that power mad Echidna's caused Angel Island to get in the sky in the first place AND scatter our kind to the four winds… so give me ONE good reason to even humor you guys coming onto Angel Island?... remember there is Chaos the guardian to the Master Emerald if I can't stop you so food for thought before you four answer." Knuckles said as he let his aura recede and many non-aura users could breathe easy again as Knuckles looked at the Four Echidna's seriously.
This time a female echidna spoke.
"We are aware of what happened and I assure you we don't wish to make the same mistake as our ancestors did."
"I'll be the judge of that… or to be more exact… Tikal will… thanks to a spell she gave me, I can summon her spirit from the Master Emerald easily… she can be the judge if you four can be trustworthy… she was the main one who soothes Chaos's ire and anger and she tried to stop her tribe years ago from causing things in the first place… she may not be able to do many things but I can do things physically for her so if you accept what she will say… I'll summon her and I'll accept what she says… however don't think that if you gain her trust you gain mine easily… trust is given over time… not instantly just because were the same species." Knuckles said when he crossed his arms over his chest.
The four echidnas were surprised to hear that before another male echidna spoke.
"If that's what it takes, we'll accept."
Knuckles nods before he starts muttering something and points a hand nearby… near him a special sigil formed and in it… a see through spectral Tikal appeared and she floats in the air with closed eyes for a moment before she opened them and saw Knuckles near her with the four Echidna's near him.
"Hey Tikal… sorry for bothering you… I need you guidance and see if these four can come to Angel Island or work to gain trust to even get on the Island… as you may know, these four came from an Island full of Echidna warriors but…" Knuckles said before he trailed off as Tikal spoke.
"They are the kind who force themselves on those weaker than them and do worse things to outsiders and have a right makes right mentality don't they." Tikal said when she looks at the four calmly.
"That is correct." One male echidna said.
Tikal was quiet when she heard this.
"You do know that if you are accepted onto Angel Island… you will have to change your ways in a serious way right?... what happens on your Island is fine… but know that in Sally's region… and on Angel Island… what you do may as well be crimes or at best thuggish brutish actions just as bad or worse than what my father did by trying to gain more power… if you are Honorable Echidna's… I want an Oath that as long as you go to Angel Island… you follow Knuckle's commands to the letter… I want to remind you that while many were off on an Island… Knuckles has been alone for most of his life guarding the Master Emerald… I've seen him make strides in doing so… his failures… his growth when he bounced back… all for the sake of the good parts of his tribe… I want to let you know I maybe a Kind Echidna… but… what reason do I have to stop Chaos from running wild again if you come to the Island and Anger him?" Tikal said when she looks seriously at the four Echidnas.
The four echidnas saw the serious look and knew they need to gain trust.
"We swear on our lives that we will change."
Tikal was silent for a moment before she gave a gentle smile.
"Good… hopefully you all will get along with Knuckles… he was always so alone so when he first heard of you… so I truly hope you all can get along with him… break his heart though… and Sonic will have to go Super to stop Chaos from making you regret possible actions…" Tikal said when she left that warning hanging but she looks at Knuckles after.
"I'll allow them onto the Island Knuckles but until they gain YOUR trust… they are not allowed to get close to the master Emerald… consider this a trial for them and I trust you will make sure that they won't cause issues…" Tikal said when she smiles at Knuckles.
Knuckles smirks.
"You can count on me."
"Good… I'll be returning to the Master Emerald so if anything happens… well…" Tikal said before she gave the new Echidna group a surprisingly cold look.
"I can always have Chaos teach these Echidna's a lesson in manners." Tikal said before she vanished while leaving that warning hanging in the air.
"Well… will have to say good luck… to you four." Sonic said.
"Indeed… you want to gain my trust… work to help Sally and Sonic with issues in town and around it and while I can let you on the Island… remember the warning Tikal and I gave you… trust will have to be earned, not given… you work to gain Sonic and Sally's trust and they tell me none of you caused issues here… as in not forcing yourselves on people… I may let you look at the Master Emerald closely… but thats about it… Chaos themselves may have different ideas in mind for you four if they are not still irritated by what happened in the past… and to the here and now since they most likely know that you guys are not exactly the most good hearted…" Knuckles said while he hits his knuckles together a couple times from habit as he looks at the four Echidna warriors.
One male echidna looks determined.
"We will take that challenge."
"Good… Sonic, Sally, you want these guys to help me on Angel Island, make sure to not hold back in what they do… thats about all… its not me persay you have to convince to let them on the Island… its Chaos themselves… Tikal and I can put in good words but you should know more than most Sonic that Chaos doesn't have the best tolerance for those who disrupt the harmony of the Island… and for harming Chao… try and make sure these guys play nice in your kingdom, and I'll make sure that after they get adjusted here, I'll take care of the rest…" Knuckles said when he looks at Sonic and Sally seriously.
"Hehe, I maybe King, Knucklehead, but I'm still Sonic." Sonic said making Sally shake her head.
"We'll make sure they don't mess up."
"Good… since you know Aura Sally, I hope you don't mind kicking ass if they cause trouble… also good luck to the Band of Seven if they have to work around some kind of shifts to deal with them." Knuckles said as he turned from the group.
"I'll be in town for a few days but no longer so I can get back to guarding Angel Island, Tails made a robot to guard the place while I'm away and want to see how their… Robot Echidna does…" Knuckles said while Tails smiles since Knuckles trusted him to help with defenses on the Island.
"Happy to help Knuckles and if you ever need good defenses and traps, I'm your guy." Tails said.
"Good… may ask for teleporting traps just in case… heard from Yami that teleporting over spiked pits would be a good way to get rid of intruders or may just have Tails make it so that they fall off the Island… less bodies to get rid of." Knuckles said in a surprisingly morbid way… guess he was getting tired of guarding the Master Emerald if intruders no one knew about tried to get on the Island recently… he then walked away from the others leaving them in the throne room.
"Okay… awkward but… least Knuckles is giving them a chance." Sonic said.
"Yeah… still you four heard him… you'll have to follow my kingdom's rules if you want to gain Knuckle's trust." Sally said when she looks at the four Echidna warriors.
"Well we're ready for anything." The female echidna said.
"Indeed, any fight you send us to we will not fail in!" A male Echidna warrior said as Sally smirks.
"Just to let you know, not all missions will be purely fighting so I hope you can do things like Babysitting or simple escort quests…" Sally said while she smirks at the Warriors.
The four blinks a bit.
"S-Seriously? That's like… D rated assignments." One of them said.
"Not sure how you learned that phrase but everyone works from the bottom up, you want to get trust from Knuckles… work the hard way… or do Echidna's not of Knuckle's clan want the easy route?" Sally said when she rests her head on a fist while she relaxed on her throne when she looks at the Echidna's seriously.
The four knew that the easy route was not their way.
"Never. Easy ways are for fools." One of them said.
"Good… Cedric…" Sally said when she looks to Cedric.
"Since you invited them here, for the next few days, you help them get used to being in Acorn town… need to find a place for them to rest in as well so take them to the Inn so they know where it is and what not." Sally said when she looks at Cedric seriously.
Cedric nods his head.
"It'll be done, my Queen."
Cedric then moved to lead the four Echidna away… as he did so… the scene fades to black while many watched the four Echidnas… how they would do in Acorn town was anyone's guess but hopefully it would be good from here on out.
