Lazerbeak
Everyone else was staring at us. I guess we violated some tradition by not sacrificing a part of our meal, but it probably would have exploded if we did. Plus, energon is poisonous to Earth beings. So I think it was for the better, since the gods probably wouldn't appreciate an explosive poison as an offering.
At the table, we were asked a few questions.
An Apollo camper asked, "Soundwave, how do your powers work?"
Soundwave responded, "I am able to manipulate sound using frequency, amplitude, wavelength, etc."
"Do your minicons have the same powers?"
"Ravage has a heightened sense of smell, Lazerbeak has a heightened sense of sight, Rumble has seismic pile-drivers, and Frenzy has a disorienting war-cry."
"What about your 'space bridges?' What are those?"
"Space Bridges are portals that can transport items and organisms from one point to another instantaneously."
"Whoa! You can open portals?!"
"Affirmative."
"Why are they called Space Bridges anyways?" Will asked, "why not just call them portals?"
"Because Space Bridges are one of two types of Cybertronian portal technology. Space Bridges are specialized for intergalactic travel, particularly between Cybertronian colonies."
Another camper gasped, "Wait, colonies?"
"Affirmative. Cybertron has colonies on nearby moons and planets. Space Bridges were developed out of the portal technology to do so, an upgrade to the previous type."
"Well, what is the other type?" Will questioned.
"The other type is a Ground Bridge, portals that are restricted to the planet it is on. They are much weaker, but use much less energy."
"Cool."
The campers made their offerings then resumed eating, asking occasional questions.
A camper asked, "Do you guys ever get cramped in his tale deck?"
"You have no idea, dude." Rumble responded.
"How many of you are there?" another asked me.
"There's five of us."
"Where's the fifth one?"
"My brother is back at home in the infirmary."
"Can he help you get home?"
"Not until he wakes up."
A young girl asked Ravage, "What's you guys' relationships like?"
"Well, Lazerbeak and Buzzsaw are brothers, Rumble and Frenzy are obviously twins, and I have no siblings. To me, Lazerbeak, and Buzzsaw, Soundwave is our master. To the twins, he's their father."
"Cute!"
Questions like those continued throughout dinner, until Chiron announced, "Now that everyone's done, let's clean up and return to our cabins!"
Cleaning after ourselves was easy. The holographic containers for the energon had already dissipated, leaving nothing. The worst we left was marks in the grass. The rest of the Apollo campers gathered their plates, brought them to the head of the table, and proceeded to their cabin.
Soundwave called, "Rumble, Frenzy, Ravage, Lazerbeak: return."
Myself and the others obliged, returning to the tape deck.
We all walked in silence for the most part, with all of the campers having asked their questions. The only noise was whispered conversations. When we got to our cabin, Soundwave transformed into his car mode. They seemed shocked, but Will explained to them. The Hephaestus campers had yet to build a place for Soundwave to park, so he had to park next to the cabin.
The campers entered their cabin, and lights came on. I heard the noise of cleaning, changing, bathroom trips, and ruffling bedsheets. The lights soon went off, and the campers started sleeping. One of them sounded like she was snoring.
As they were asleep, Soundwave called, "Lazerbeak: eject. Operation: reconnaissance."
I ejected, transformed, and flew away. My job was simple, record footage of neighboring towns and cities, find out everything I can, and report back anything of note.
I loved flying recon. The feeling of soaring high out of sight, unchained by anything, gave me a sense of freedom like none other. I served Soundwave with pride, a sentiment my fellow cassettes would wholeheartedly agree with. He was the strongest bot I knew that wasn't a titan or a combiner.
I just flew, scanning the area, looking for anything new. But this New York looked just like our New York. With how long I had spent at Trypticon station, I forgot how good it felt to fly over the New York skyline. I had flown over this skyline thousands of times, yet every time I fly over it I can't help but admire the skyline.
The only thing I found was a strange, glowing palace above the Empire State Building. I had never seen it before. Since it was the only thing of note, I went to investigate.
I landed on a wall surrounding the palace, looking into the palace. Only, it wasn't a palace, but looked like a city. There were golden palaces, parks, and bustling streets, filled with mythological creatures. I could guess it was Olympus, with more temples and statues to the Olympian gods than I had seen in the entirety of ancient Greece.
I flew in to record what I could. There were dozens of people, so staying out of sight was a challenge, but I managed. I flew to what I believed to be the center, the largest, greatest palace.
