Naru sighed as he mentally checked everything off everything from his list that he made throughout the day. He took out his cell phone and looked at his to-do list that Mai text him in the early afternoon. His eyebrow twitched.
Fruit smoothie at her favorite cafe.
Spicy tuna roll and eel roll at favorite sushi restaurant. With extra eel sauce and spicy Mayo on the side. No wasabi.
This girl and her cravings...
After an hour of being out, he finally returned home. The apartment was dark and the only light that illuminated in the apartment was from the TV in the living room.
"No...damn it Lizzy! He loves you!" he heard Mai yell at the TV. Naru smiled. He took his shoes off and went in the kitchen quietly. Naru put all the desserts and food away except for the chocolate bars and smoothie. Once he sat down next to Mai, Mai paused the movie and happily hugged him. "You're finally home!" Naru hugged her back and gave her a quick kiss on her lips. Naru handed Mai her smoothie and chocolate bar. Her eyes gleamed and she happily took a long sip of her smoothie.
"Baka, slow down," Naru said and poked her forehead.
"Did you bring home the sushi I asked for?" Mai asked. "Was it busy at work? You're home later than usual."
"I bought you sushi and I even bought more instant ramens. And then I picked you up cake and cookies," Naru answered. His answer surprised her, he can tell from her widened eyes. Mai blushed. "Did you take your pain pills?" Mai nodded.
"How'd you know I wanted all of that stuff?" Mai asked curiously. "I could've gone out tomorrow."
"We've been dating for four years now Mai. I'm prepared to tend to your period cravings," Naru answered with a sigh.
"But I didn't even tell you I had my period."
"You were very moody this morning and in pain."
"But nothing happened then."
"Well you have it now am I correct?" Mai nodded with a smile. After another sip of her smoothie, Mai hit play on the remote and snuggled closer to Naru. Naru put his legs up on the bare table and wrapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her in close. "Pride and Prejudice?"
"Yeah, your mother called and she suggested this movie for me to watch," Mai answered.
"What do you think of it?"
"I love it! But now I'm upset. Mr. Darcy loves her and yet she turned him down! Ugh like how can you say no to that face!" Naru smiled and kissed the top of her head. "You're very affectionate tonight."
"I don't want you to be moody tonight." Mai playfully rolled her eyes.
"I'm not always moody," she argued back.
"You were crying this morning as I was rushing to work" Naru mentioned. "Last month, you cried because I came home late and was worried for no reason. Usually when I come home late, I find you on the couch. You're either watching TV or you fell asleep. Two months ago you were angry longer than usual because I didn't read your text message to pick up food you were craving. The month before that-"
"Okay, I'm moody," Mai said, interrupting his point. Naru smirked and flicked her forehead.
"Remember Mai, you are an open book."
"Hey Naru, I'm hungry." Naru sighed and stood up.
"Alright. Let me get your sushi rolls."
"Have I told you how much I love you?" Naru smirked.
"Everyday." Mai playfully rolled her eyes and smiled.
"Always living by your nickname." Mai blushed when Naru gave her a quick kiss on the lips.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
