Chapter 0; The Links that Bind
In Japan, during Halloween night, a young man about 19 years old with brown hair, brown eyes, wearing a costume that made him look like a samurai with gold armor and white spandex, but no helmet. His name was Gavin, and he was lost in the mountain forest. You see Gavin was the victim of a college prank and only had his phone as a light source, but no cell service. "Nice job Gavin, alone in the dark with nothing but a phone's flashlight. What else can go wrong." Gavin said, and then it started to rain. Gavin then ran to a cave to take cover from the rain. In the cave, Gavin turns off his phone flashlight to save power. But by doing that, he noticed a light coming from deep into the cave.
Gavin chose to walk deep into the cave, feeling drawn to the source of the light. After walking for a little while, he found a hallway, and started recording everything on the walls with his smartphone. Because the wall showed some very interesting draws carved into it. The first carving showed three dragons fighting against a very big dragon. One of the three dragons was white and in the shape of a Japanese dragon. Another one of the three dragons was black and in the shape of an English dragon. And the last of the three was silver and in the shape of a Chinese dragon. The dragon the three dragons were fighting was not made well, but it did have something in its mouth. The second carving showed the three dragons firing beams from their mouths at the big dragon, and the big dragon getting trapped inside something, but it didn't show what the thing was. The third carving showed the dragons turning into humans and their colors were going into an orb, which was next to a gold color griffin. The fourth carving showed the three dragons leaving as people, the griffin holding the orb and leaving threw a vortex. The fifth and final carving showed the griffin coming out of the vortex, breaking the orb, and its energy was going into multiple people, some black, some white, and some silver.
Once Gavin finished recording all of the carving, he found himself in a big room. On one side of the room was samurai armor, on the other was knight armor, and in the middle was the orb from the carvings in the hands of a griffin statue. Gavin got close to the statue and the orb, because the source of the light was the orb. Once Gavin got close he looked at the orb, but did not touch it. Gavin knew that it could be booby trapped, since it was shining and in the center of the room.
But then an earthquake shook the room causing some of the armor to fall. Gavin also fell and dropped his phone. But that wasn't the worst of it. The griffin statue fell too, breaking it and the orb, killing the lights. Once the shaking stopped, Gavin started to crawl around, looking for his phone so he could turn on the flashlight. But then the room was then full of a black, white, silver, and gold lights behind him. Gavin turned around and saw four balls of lights, one for each color. The four balls joined into one and hit Gavin in the chest, which caused him a lot of pain. But all he could do was scream as the lights wrapped around Gavin's body. Once it completely covered Gavin, who fainted because of the pain, a vortex opened under him and took him to another world.
In the world Gavin was going to, a girl with long silver hair and wearing a silver nightgown about Gavin's age was sleeping in her bed and having a dream about a long blue-haired girl wearing a white dress singing next to a lake. "You are the ocean's gray waves, destined to seek, life beyond the shore, just out of reach." The blue-haired girl then walked into the lake and sang as she went under the water and into something glowing. "Yet the waters ever change, flowing like time, the path is yours to climb."
Then in a flash, the silver-haired girl was now wearing silver armor, dark blue fabric and a dark blue cape, holding a sword, and her long hair was tied into a ponytail and a hairclip too, found herself in a battlefield. With white samurai on one side and black knights on the other side. Leading the samurai was a man with long red hair, white and red samurai armor, and a katana that had green electricity shooting through it. Leading the knight was a man with short blond hair and was a knight on horseback. The knight's leader led his men from the back. While the samurai's leader led the charge himself. After the samurai cut threw the knights and stopped when he got close to the knight's leader. The samurai's leader then yelled to the knights leader. "Nohrian general, you faced the high prince of Hoshido, Ryoma! I challenge you to single combat!"
"I will accept your challenge "high prince", but I am no general. I am crowned prince Xander of Nohr!" Xander said, pulling out a long sword that was releasing some kind of purple dark energy. Both of them then charge at one another and then their swords clash, releasing a powerful shock wave, knocking everyone away from both Xander and Ryoma.
Elsewhere a girl with short red hair riding a Pegasus and holding a spear said to the silver-haired girl. "Come on, Corrin! We've got work to do!" The silver-haired woman, who's name was Corrin, looked at the girl with red hair, and even though this was the first time meeting she knew that person was her big sister, Hinoka. This causes Corrin to look down and hold her head. This almost caused her to get killed by a soldier with an ax, if Hinoka wasn't there. Hinoka attacked the soldier and that caused the soldier to run away. Hinoka then said to Corrin. "Corrin, what's the matter with you? You seem distracted…"
"I'm sorry, but I'm worried for some reason."
"There is no need to worry. All your siblings are here with you. The Nohrians don't stand a chase!" Hinoka said and that caused Corrin to feel something is more wrong. In the middle of the battlefield, Ryoma and Xander were still having their fight. "I demand to know why you Nohrian dogs are invading Hoshido! Was that cowardly attack on my people your doing as well, princeling?" Ryoma said as they made some space and were circling around one another. Xander was silent at first, but then said to Ryoma. "I have nothing to say to you. Surrender now. If you refuse… you die here." They then started to attack again. Each of them landed a powerful hit and caused some serious damage.
On the other side of the battlefield was Xander siblings. "Oh, no! The bridge collapsed! How can we help our sister now?" Elise, the youngest sibling, a girl with long blonde hair, holding a staff and riding a horse, said to her big brother and sister. Camilla, the second oldest sibling, a girl with long light purple hair, holding an ax and riding a wyvern, said to Elise. "Not to worry, Elise. The royal blood in our veins is still good for something!"
"Have you spotted a Dragon Vein, Camilla?" Leo, the third child, a boy with short blonde hair, holding a book and also riding a horse, said to Camilla. Camilla laughed a little and said to Leo. "You know me too well, dear little brother!" Camilla then had her wyvern fly close to a river in the middle of the battlefield. When she got there, a red aura surrounded her and then a second later. She fired a giant fireball at the river. Causing the river to dry up. Everyone stopped and looked at the river, which was gone. After the river was gone, Elise said to Camilla. "Yaaay, it worked! The river dried up!"
"I would never let you down, darling. Now, everyone follows me." Camilla said before Leo said to Elise. "Elise, you're not ready for the front lines. Stay back. Camilla and I will take care of the Hoshidans."
"The Nohrian army used a Dragon Vein to dry up the river! But I thought only royals held that power…" Hinoka said as she and the others were still a little surprised. Then Takumi, Corrin's younger brother, a guy with long dark white hair tied in a ponytail and had a bow, said to Hinoka. "Yeah, which means there must be some real big shots over there. Suits me just fine. I've always wanted to use a Nohrian royal for target practice!"
"Stay focused, Corrin. The Nohrians brought their heavy hitters this time." Hinoka said to Corrin as the Nohrians Royal Family moved to Xanders location, and Nohrian reinforcements arrived. Hinoka then said to her siblings. "Dammit, their reinforcements have arrived! I'll go scout out how many there are. Takumi, Sakura, stay with Corrin."
"Understood." Takumi said before Sakura, the youngest Hoshido Child, a girl with short red hair and looked like a shrine maiden, said to Hinoka. "Y-yes. Good idea." Hinoka then flew ahead of them and before the rest of them moved another soldier appeared. Corrin then fell down in pain, thanks to the attack that got her earlier. "Hang in there, Corrin." Takumi said as he walked over to her and pulled her up. Sakura then moved over to Corrin and said. "Are you hurt, Corrin?!"
"Just a little, sis."
"Here, let me heal your wounds!" Sakura said as she used a wand to heal Corrin wounds. After that Corrin was feeling much better, and Takumi said to Corrin. "The Nohrian royals are no pushovers… We'll have to work together to beat them. As the eldest, I guess you're in charge. Tell me what to do and I'll do it." Takumi didn't sound too happy, even with their reinforcements arriving too. But the joy ended when the soldier that attacked Corrin returned. "Oh n-no! An enemy!" Sakura said as she backed away in fear. Takumi got in front of Sakura and said. "It's an ambush! Sakura, stay back. You aren't equipped to fight."
"Yeah, stay behind us." Corrin said as she and Takumi attacked the soldier. Corrin charged and was not able to dodge his attack, but gave him a deep cut. Takumi shot an energy arrow from his bow, finishing off the soldier. After Takumi and Corrin defeated him, the three of them joined Hinoka and soon both royal families soon met in the middle of the battlefield. When they all got there, Hinoka said to Ryoma. "Ryoma, are you all right?"
"I'll be fine. I'm glad to see you're all safe." Ryoma said as Sakura used healing magic on him. As Elise used healing magic on Xander, Ryoma said to his siblings. "Enemy reinforcements are headed this way. I want you to get rid of them. Corrin, I'm counting on you to keep Hinoka and the others safe."
"Corrin! Thank heavens we found you, and that you're alive and well. Quickly, come join us! Your family has come to take you home where you belong." Xander said as he and the other Nohr looked at Corrin. Corrin then stepped back and remembered that not only the Hoshido royal family was her family, but so was the Nohr royal family too. Ryoma pointed his sword at Xander and said. "Quiet, Nohrain filth! Corrin is my sister and a princess of Hoshido!"
"On the contrary. Corrin is MY sister and a princess of Nohr!" Xander said, pointing his sword at Ryoma. Camilla then said to Corrin. "Corrin! I was so worried about you. Don't ever wander away from me again!"
"I'm glad you're OK, Corrin. You must have the devil's own luck!" Leo said before Elise said. "Yaaay! We got our sister back!"
"Nohrian scum! First you kidnap her, now you lie to her?! Corrin is MY sister, not yours!" Hinoka said, pointing her weapon at the Nohr royal family. Camilla pointed her ax at Hinoka and said. "You are mistaken. Corrin is my sweet little sister. You may not have her."
"Don't be fooled by their words. You belong with your true family in Hoshido!" Ryoma said, looking right at Corrin. "We have loved you and raised you since you were a child. Come home, little princess. We can live as a family once more!" Xander said, looking at Corrin. Before Corrin could say anything, she heard a roar behind her. She turned around and saw three monsters. On the left was a dark blue sea serpent dragon. On the right was a gold griffin with a gray head and wings. And in the middle was a silver dragon. Corrin then heard another roar behind her and turned again. But this time, it wasn't three different monsters, but three wolves. The left one was light purple. The right one was light yellow. And the middle one was light blue. Each of them jumped over her and crashed into the dragon, creating a flash that caused everything to turn white.
As for Gavin. He fell out of the portal and returned to normal, but landed on the ground face down. Gavin got up and said, after spitting out the dirt in his mouth. "Alright. What just happened?" That's when Gavin heard a roar close to him. Gavin looked around and didn't see anything, but a gold deck box with an image of a gray griffin head on it, on the ground. Gavin picked it up and it caused electricity to go threw his whole body, which caused Gavin to faint, again. And the deck went into his body, two knights soldiers appeared and dragged him to a caravan holding prisoners.
And done. Now let me tell you about this story. There are four parts to this story and each part will be its own story. This is the first part and it covers Chapter 0 to 5 of the game, the chapters before you choose your path in the game. And the other three will start at Chapter 6 when you choose a path in the game and continue until the end of the path. And I'll tell you more about how these at the end of Chapter 5.
