Amalia looked out the window of her bedroom watching her people go through their daily lives. Unknown to her, her older brother Armand had entered her room.
"You know that you could go down there and get a closer look. Armand said, getting his sister's attention.
Amalia turned towards her brother then said, "I would if I could, but just because something sounds easy doesn't mean that it is."
"Oh then tell me what's stopping the great Princess of the Sadida kingdom Amalia from leaving this place and going into town to connect with her people?" Armadn questioned.
"That's just it." Amalia explained. "I'm the princess of the Sadida kingdom, the moment I walk into a store all of the other customers are told to leave. Plus walking around is next to impossible, unless I want to have everyone move out of the way and start bowing to me."
Armand then was about to suggest a disguise but Amalia had tried that before and the moment it was seen through the people began to get scared as if the next thing they did could get them in trouble.
"I'm not going to lie sister." Armand said, "I'm amazed that you don't like the fact that you're a princess."
"Well things can change real quick when you don't have anyone that treats you like a normal person instead of a fragile vase or noble." Amalia responded.
Armand sighed then said, "You miss Evanglyen don't you?"
Amaila smiled then said, "Yes I miss my old guard and friend. I do understand that she fell in love but I wished she didn't have to leave."
"I know Amalia, but I'm sure she's happy with the nice Cra she met." Armand said.
"Yay I know." Amalia." Agreed. Amalia then looked out the window and saw that a crowd seemed to be forming around a curtain spot. "What is that?"
"Something must have happened." Armand said, seeing the crowd. "Guess I'll have to see what it is."
Amalia looked at the crowd and felt like she should go and followed her brother to the crowd. As they got closer they saw that it was an eatery.
"Has this always been here?" Amaila questioned seeing a girl taking food to tables while a line was forming in front of what looked like a cart.
"No it hasn't, I think it's one of those traveling eateries that goes around making food of different places and expanding their culture to others." Armand explained seeing food that didn't look like it came from Sadida.
"That sounds interesting." Amalia said.
"Do you want to give the food a try?" Armand asked. "Everyone seems to be distracted by the food to notice we came here.
"Maybe we should disguise ourselves before they notice." Amalia said, hoping to be able to be treated like everyone else.
Armand smiled then waved his hand the next moment a guard that was hiding gave them cloaks to wear for the time being. Once they had their cloaks on they joined the line and waited to get to the front, when it was their turn they saw a boy that looked to be the same age as Amaila with some blond hair visible under his hat.
"So tell me, how can I get a pretty girl like you?" the boy said.
Amalia blushed and moved a lock of hair to the side as Armand said, "We'll have something sweet if you have it."
The boy snapped his fingers gaining an idea then went to work then gave them two orders of food. "How about trying this on the house, for showing me a pretty face."
Armand took the food while Amalia gave the boy three kamas as a tip then walked away before someone recognized them. When they were far enough away they removed their hoods. They then saw that the bowls were in fact coconuts that were cut in half with the contains that looked like a type of soup.
"Well, let's see if he's any good at cooking and sweet talking." Armand said hand Amalia hers. As they took a bite they were amazed at the taste, it looked spicy but was sweet and with every bite you wanted more. "Got to admit it he's good."
"Yay." Amalia said, looking back at the crowd. "It must be pretty cool to travel around the world sharing your culture of food with everyone you meet."
"Maybe?" Armand said. "Come on sis we should head back before father starts to worry about us."
"Okay." Amalia said, following after her brother.
