Ghoulish beginnings chapter 5 preparations
The ghoul girls continued to explain there story to wilbie who seemed to be more intrigued in it then ever, sure he had to admit, what started as a quick little plan to get him out of having to try any more of there food, turned into him really being interested in what was going on,
" yeah, so little Tanis had just joined the team and it really was a great day for us all, " sibella said,
" yeah we had a new member and things were looking good as far as our athletic skills were going, we had some good practices after that, nothing seemed to be going wrong and we only seemed to be improving " Elsa chimed in,
phantasma then giggled, " but what happened next, is what we would never expect, "
wibie cocked his head a little what is it ? " he asked sounding more so intrigued now,
" well, it's when we found out who we would be playing against that changed everything, " Winnie said crossing her arms, still appearing to be a bit reluctant to tell this story, "
" yeah, this is where those Calloway boys come in, " sibella said with a slightly serous tone,
it was another day of practice for the Grimwood ghouls as they continued to go about there daily routine, along with Tanis who was doing rather well for herself, just as miss Grimwood had thought, it wasn't until then miss Grimwood interrupted the practice as she had a big announcement for them,
" alright my ghouls, the time has come, I had just got the word flown in via delivery Bat of who you will be playing up Against in in your volley ball tournament she said holding up an envelope...
" alright, finally this is what I ad been waiting for ! " Winnie said jumping up and down,
" oh who will it be miss Grimwood! " Phantasma said eagerly,
" hold on a minute let me read the name to you. * ahem * she cleared her throat, the name of the school you'll be up against is...Calloway military school." she informed the others,
they all looked at one another a little confusingly, never expecting such a name for a school.
" gee. that's a strange name for a ghoul school ? " sibella said ribbing her chin..
" yeah, what is a Miwatary ? Tanis asked
" it's Military " Winnie said rolling her eyes.
" and a military is the armed forces of a country. " Elsa added while holding her finger up.
" oh.." Tanis said .." so wait, were going to play owf against a Military ? " she said sounding still a little confused..
Miss grimwood let out a chuckle, " oh no, not at all my tanis, " it's a military. school, meaning its school for boys in training for such things.."
" oh, that makes more sense,..I think "
" now hold on Miss Grimwood. you mean to tell me. were playing up against a bunch of...ghoul boys in a military school ? " I didn't even know ghouls had a military " Sibella said sounding now more confused..
" actually Sibella, the school you'll be playing Against isn't actually a school for ghoul boys at all, " miss Grimwood, said,
" then what is it ? " Winnie asked,
" well um, you'll be playing against that school over there, " she said pointing over to to a large building made of bricks off in the distance..
all the ghouls looked at one another...then back at miss Grimwood...
" wait wait wait ! that school ! that school over there ! " Sibella said looking and sounding alarmed .
" what, why are you sounding like that ? " Winnie said looking confused..
" that's a human school " Elsa spoke up
both WInnie and Tanis looked shocked when they were told this, never had knowing such a school was neighboring them this entire time,
" are you sure there wasn't a mistake in this ? " Sibella questioned.
" Oh now, don't sounds so worried, there is nothing wrong with humans, I'm sure this will be an interesting experience,."
" but why would we, a ghoul school be put up against a Human school? " sibella still didn't understand,
" Look, what ever the reason be, I'm sure it will be fine, there is no law saying ghouls and humans can't interact. "Miss Grimwood stated.
" but..isn't there a reason we rarely do ? " Elsa asked next.
Miss Grimwood sighed. " look, this is what's been given to us, the board of ghoul education has spoken, and we are going with this, now we will be having an up coming game with them soon, I'll be heading over to the school to organize our first match, which should be tomorrow to be exact, until then,, you should keep practicing, alright, " she said with a more cheerful tone,
all the others just awkwardly nodded as she left to go tend to the matter, leaving the ghouls to discuss the News they had been given,
" this is not what I was expecting when I agreed to join this, " Elsa said folding her arms,
" well..so what if they are humans, miss Grimwood is right, there is nothing wrong with that, besides..it could be be rather interesting to get to interact with humans, " sibella tried to reassure,
" well to be honest, it isn't that that's on my mind, " Elsa said
" then what exactly is it then " Winnie said confused..
" it's the fact, well the fact it's a military school. do you know how well trained such students would be in these a sport, "
" ummm...well " Sibella pondered for a moment..
" Too well I tell you, they are probably trained everyday to be in tip top shape. which means, we need to be in better shape to go up against something like that." Elsa said looking a little unsure.
" pfffft come one Elsa..your kidding me, your telling me that me , a werewolf doesn't have a chance against a bunch of humans ?
" well not exactly , I'm just saying. that well, we should be a little more prepared for this tournament if this is the case, "
" yeah but think about it Elsa, aren't you the one who's been saying you have the strength to, well handle anything, I'm sure those military boys have anything like that."
" hmm, true, but, well, I just like to be prepared. " Elsa said with a nod.
" I can agree with her on that, being prepared is always the most important thing. " Sibella added. " we need to make sure we are well ready for the volley ball match tomorrow, and besides, miss Grimwood said to keep practicing, "
winnie huffed to herself, she didn't know why everyone was fretting over this, she felt that they had this in the bag, with Elsa's strength, tanis surprisingly good reflexes. and her great overall agility. she felt that they could handle what ever it was they were put up against'
later that night...
Winnie laid on her bed with her arms behind her head in a relaxed manner, but Sibella however was looking a bit worried as she paced around the room,
" oh will you just relax already, " Winnie said getting a bit annoyed by the vampires nervous behavior as she paced around the room,
" relax ? relax ? were about to have our first big match tomorrow against a human school.,that is a lot to take in ya know, "
" so what ? " Winnie asked, " you act like we aren't going to have a chance. your letting Elsa's words get to you, "
" well, she is well educated, she may have a good point about these boys. "
Winnie then sat up and Sighed.." look whether they are good or not it won't matter, you have me on the team not to mention the Elsa's strength, phantasma with her ability to float and Tanis...who's not that bad actually, I mean have you seen her use with her bandages ? " Winnie exclaimed, " so you see, we all have our own special talent in this."
sibella raised an eyebrow., " mmh hmm, and what about me ? what would my so called special talent be."
Winnie then thought for a moment, " well, um, you uh , our.." she struggled to come up with a reason she had one,
" well " Sibella said now crossing her arms..
Winnie bit her lip, then let out a frustrated groan, " alright, so I can't really find anything for you, "
sibella rolled her eyes. " really, you think I have nothing valuable to offer the team, "
winnie stuck a claw in her ear then looked around, " well...look I'll come clean . I'm not saying your a bad player, no not at all,...but you are the only one I have not seen demonstrate anything...well spectacular, in fact..i'm still surprised the mummy was so good, " Winnie stated,
sibella instead of looking offended by this claim, appeared to be more intrigued by this..
" really now, so let me get this straight, you think I can't offer anything special to the team, sense I don't have a useful ability, ? "
" well...unless you can control the ball with your mind, I don't see anything "
" well so what if I can't shoot bandage out of my hand or have some super strength , I'll have you know miss Grimwood personally asked me to be apart of this team, even when I had doubts myself for being on this team at all, but you know what, I think she did have a good reason to include me, special talent or not, "
" well I'm sure she did, but don't you recall what happened with your little volley ball mishap on the first day of tryouts, ? "
Sibella felt her cheeks blush a little but shook it off, " hey..that was just a little slip up, we all have them,. "
" so we do, but in this case, it could have a bigger effect in the long term But again who knows, maybe there is something you can do, but either way, I still say there is no need to worry. I still say we can win this thing. " Winnie said with a confidant nod.
Sibella just stared at her a little unamusingly , but then she looked at those she got an Idea, she put on a mischievous smirk..
" oh is that so, you seem to be so sure of yourself.." she said,
" I am, I don't think we have to worry about anything. " Winnie said sitting back in her bed..
" and well,..you would want to make a little wager on that confidence then, would you. ?"
Winnie's ears then perked up when hearing those words. " wager...what do you mean. "
" well gee I don't know. sense you seem to be so sure of yourself, I'm sure you'd have nothing to loose, and only things to gain, am I right, " Sibella stated,
" what are you getting at? " Winnie said sitting up.
" well, if you think we have a chance to win this because of your, skills " she said in a mocking tone when saying skills,
" yeah, and ? Winnie said crossing her arms listing intently now " just spit it out "
" well what i mean is,,,if your so sure then, how about we bet on it, " sibella said cupping her hands..
" bet...ha..what do you have to bet " winnie said smirking..
" oh not what I have...but what you have to do . " she grinned devilishly at her..
winnie shifted her eyes awkwardly.." uhhh...and what would that be ? "
" oh just two words will explain it.." Sibella continued to devilishly smirk at her,
" and what words would that be ? Winnie asked..
" Bath time " Sibella said in a dark tone...
winnie suddenly tensed up upon hearing those two horrible words...she then laughed it off playing it cool..
" heh heh..really is that all..that's just silly " she said looking rather uncomfortable..
" oh yes indeed, cause it really appears you could use one and well if you don't want to and are so sure you won't loose this volley ball match I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.." Sibella grinned ,
" uh, well why would I need to bet on that, it's just stupid.." Winnie said crossing her arms..
" hey fine, if your not confidant after all or just a big chicken, I understand.." Sibella said Shrugging..
" whoa hey..I never said I'm a chicken.! " Winnie barked.
" then I don't see your hold up with this. " sibella grinned with a teasing look,
Winnie let out a low growl,," fine then but just to prove it to you that there is no way we can loose this Match tomorrow ! "
and with that winnie immediately pulled the cover overs here apparently ready to turn in for the night.,,
Sibella smirked to herself as she then went over to her bed, she had the feeling that no matter how thing turned out tomorrow, she was going to find some good thing about it...

the next day
" humans ?! your kidding me ? " Leona said sounding surprised about the news.
" No I'm not. miss Grimwood said that'd be who were up against. but really it's not a bad thing. " Sibellas explained.
"the two where walking down a hall and towards the Ballet room of the school, miss Grimwood had called for the volley team to meet there,
" oh I no that, but it just seems a little odd for...well ghouls to go up against them. I mean I never met a human once in my life And I hear they can be pretty strange. "
" well we'll see later today how they can be, until then I'd appreciate it if you'd come to this event, "
" hey you know will, this will probably be my last chance to get to do so before my graduation, " Leona reminded.
sibella nodded. " oh yes that..we'll this is certainly going to be an exciting day no matter what, I can feel it. " she said with a confidant smirk.
soon both ghouls had made it to the ballet room and entered inside, to which miss Grimwood and the rest of the gang were waiting..
" ah there you are sibella, now we may begin, " miss Grimwood said who was seen wearing leg warmers and a sweatband along with the rest of the ghouls.
" what's this about miss Grimwood ? " sibella aske ,
" well, sense Today is going to be your first big match, I thought we could start with some exorcises to get us ready for the big event " miss Grimwood explained,
" what kind's of exorcises will we do ? " Tanis then spoke up,
" why some scarerobics of course " Miss grimwood answered" along with some deep shrieking to help get the blood and air flowing through you, now just slip into sibella and join us, " miss grimwood said handing her some leg warmers and a sweatband
" oh. these are a peculiar fashion for exorcise if i do say myself. " sibella said taking them,
once Sibella was dressed up and ready to go with the others, miss Grimwood got ready to lead the ghouls.
" alright then, lets do a quick warm up shall we ? matches will you please ? " she said looking over to matches who was standing by a record player.
matches grunted and nodded as he took one of the records and placed it on the player., soon a song began to play a snyth pop song,
" hey, not a bad sound, what is it ? " phantasma said intrigued by the beat of the tune,
" its what the humans are apparently listening to these days, specially while working out, I'd figure it'd be worth to check out for ourselves, " she answered.
Winnie then let out a howl, "well this is a tune I can get used too, ! " she said hopping up and down With energy .
" that's right, it's time to get into the spirit, " miss Grimwood clapped her hands,
" that's something I know I can do ! " phantasma shouted while cackling cheerfully,
Even marches himself was getting into the beat as he was starting to dance to it,
" Leona who didn't even need to worry bout getting into shape for the game was enjoying the music as well, and could be seen bobbing her head in rhythm
" I really need to ,. learn the name of that instrument phantasma laughed.
so as the ghouls got accustom to the music, Miss Grimwood then spent the next half hour instructing the ghouls in her so called scarerobics,, which simply was your basic exorcise routines, from squatting, to jogging in place..
" well that should be enough of that for now, " Miss Grimwood said to all her ghouls who seemed to be in a sweat, save for phantasma who in fact could not.
" Now listen my ghouls, i should tell you the thing that is important right now,, this is only your first game, and well, no matter what happens, the important thing is that while you should try your best, you should also try your best to have fun, the main reason for this course it's just about winning, but the great memories you can make while doing this. so, no matter how things turn out...I'll be proud of you my ghouls, trophy or not trophy, " miss Grimwood ended her little speech with a content nod.
" well we'll certainly remember to do that, " Sibella reassured her,
" oh yes, fun we will have, and I think we'll be taking that trophy as well, " Winnie said with a chuckle.
Sibella then gave Winnie a smirk, to which Winnie seemed a little confused at first of, but then remembered her little bet, which promoted a slight nervous laugh,
" y-yeah...we'll come out winners no matter what..but that trophy is as good as ours. " she said with a small chuckle..
miss Grimwood then cupped her hands, " splendid then, lets make our way down to the valley ball court then shall we, our opponents should be here soon," miss Grimwood said heading towards the door, and motioning for the others to follow.
" yeah lets go make our mammas and pappas proud ! " phantasma shouted heading towards the door,
" I can get into that " Tanis said following her..
" and let's do one for Grimwood ! " Elsa shouted as well,
Winnie just let out a howl as she got on all fours and charged near the door.." time to show ya all how it's done, " she yelled from outside,
Sibella stood back and took a deep breath.." well, this is it, here's goes nothing, " she said before making her way down to the volley ball court with all the others...
" hey no matter what happens. I'll be rooting for you, " Leona said following her out
as they all made there way down to the court, each of the Grimwood girls had it in there mind to do there best, hoping that they could earn a spot in Grimwood history,..,
