Where does love begin? In the fifth cellar of the Opera Populaire perhaps? Forced to relinquish the role of Angel of Music after Raoul appears on the scene, Erik must find a new way to communicate with Christine. This story is about the 14 days when Erik believes Christine will not be concerned about his face and will love him for who he is.

After overcoming a childhood filled with abuse, young adulthood plagued by shame, and a lifetime of solitude, Erik finds himself married to the woman he adores. A mysterious box sent thirty years ago to his cousin raises questions and stirs the ghost never far behind, while two men resurrect the horrors of his time in Persia, and an acquaintance from long ago unexpectedly returns.

Modern AU. The tragedy of his mother's death drives Erik, a once-famous pianist, into extreme isolation. Angry and alone, he avenges her in the only way he knows how- a tragedy that will follow him for years, until he comes face to face with the victim of his mistakes: Christine Daae.
