Inside what remained of his multiversal engine core, Kang the Conqueror lay dormant. A sudden flash of memory of his defeat by Ant-Man awoke him. A light surrounded him, and took him outside of space time. Outside of the multiverse.
"What is this place?" he asked.
He floated around and witnessed the green hue of Yggdrasil.
"The Multiverse," he said.
He realized that it was the multiverse, and that it was not a loop like he thought he was. He floated towards the green multiverse, and observed one of the woven branches. He grabbed it and pulled it out, creating a disruption.
"I will exact my revenge, and burn my enemies out of time," he stated, "This is a promise I make."
He pulled out more branches, hoping to reach the center, and in doing so caused a disruption within the multiverse. Incursions began to occur rapidly.
