Chapter 113 "The Gambit"

Cornelius Fudge and Lord Malfoy sat in the Minister's office, seething with frustration as they listened to Director Bones's press conference. In their eyes, Bone's had made fools out of both of them. Fudge couldn't contain his anger, slamming his fist on the desk.

"She's made a complete fool out of us!" Fudge yelled, his frustration boiling over. In contrast, Lord Malfoy leaned back in his chair, displaying a more calculated demeanor.

"You should remove her from her post," Malfoy suggested, his voice calm and measured.

Fudge grimaced, "I can't do that. I no longer have the support I need to remove her. I've lost the Black vote, and we both know the Longbottoms won't back me in this. Potter will side with her, and I'd look like an even bigger fool than I already do." The political intricacies weighed heavily on Fudge, leaving him trapped in a situation where removing Director Bones seemed insurmountable.

His eyes glinting with a calculating edge, Lord Malfoy suggested Cornelius Fudge. "Perhaps there's another way. Bones has made a lot of enemies. Maybe they've had enough of her, and she could be removed permanently."

Though visibly uneasy, Fudge responded cautiously, "As the Minister, I cannot agree with you."

Malfoy leaned in, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial tone, "But if she were to disappear or be hurt, maybe even killed, I could appoint another in her place. A more amenable candidate, someone who understands the delicate balance of power." The sinister proposal hung in the air, tempting Fudge with an alternative solution to their political challenges. Malfoy leaned forward, his tone calm. "Attacking her Manor is out of the question. The Bones are known to have the strongest wards, and for some reason, I can't remember where it's located."

The Minister's smile widened with a hint of cunning. "I believe she takes her niece for school supplies on the weekend before the students head off to Hogwarts." The prospect of exploiting a routine event in Bones' schedule offered a potential avenue for their less-than-savory plans.

Malfoy maintained composed as he looked at the Minister and offered a sly smile. "I believe our meeting is finished, and I have some people I must see. I hope, in the near future, we will be needing a new director for the DMLE."

Chapter 114 "Revelations"

Top of Form

At Hogwarts, in the Headmaster's office, the floo comes to life, and green flames burst into existence. "Headmaster Dumbledore, are you there?"

"What can I do for you, Amelia?"

"I would like you to come to my office and look over some evidence and see if you can understand any of it.

Would this be evidence from the battle in the Alley today?" Dumbledore asked.

"Yes, it would be, and hopefully, you can help explain some of the powers on display during the battle." Director Bones responded.

"Very well, Amelia. I will be right over." Headmaster Dumbledore steps into the flame and emerges from the fireplace. He notices the Director is not alone; Moody and several Aurors are present. The hooded figure standing next to a reflective is none other than the head of the Department of Mysteries.

"Thank you all for coming on short notice," the Director states. "I will not waste more of your time than necessary; you are all busy. This is our new head of the Investigation Unit of the DMLE, Connie Hammer."

"Thank you, Director, for the introduction." Investigator Hammer replies. Hammer glances at her notes, noting that the battle started at 12:05 pm. At that time, an unknown spell obliterated the front part of the Scrolls and Tab. Three wizards, adorned in dragon masks, emerged and attacked the Aurors responding to the explosion. One of the Auroras sustained injuries, landing them in the intensive care unit, though a full recovery is expected. Several unknown spells were unleashed between the three dragon wizards.

One of the blue-robed wizards met his demise, crashing into a cement wall nearby. Hadrian James Potter entered the scene at this point, confronting one of the remaining dragon wizards who attempted the killing curse. Mr. Potter manipulated the earth using wandless magic to intercept the lethal curse. The redirected pieces of earth proved fatal for the wizard.

Chief Aura Alistor Moody engaged the last dragon wizard, delivering a blasting curse to the chest that ended his threat. Three new dragon wizards emerged from the entrance. One wore a gold dragon mask, while the other engaged the arriving Aurors.

The Golden dragon-masked wizard engages Mr. Potter with spells fire, and Mr. Potter returns fire at the dragon mage. I want to point out that Mr. Potter is not using a wand. There are all wandless abilities, and his spells are unknowing to us now.

The Dragon Mage summons a firewhip and hits Mr. Potter in the chest area. Mr. Potter somehow can push his magic into the ground, and it explodes under the Dragon Mage, sending him into the air. It ripped parts of the mask and much of its robes off.

The Dragon Mage slows his descent with a spell, rights himself in the air, and attacks Mr. Potter with fireballs. Mr. Potter rushes the Dragon Mage and dodges all of the fireballs. I want to note that Mr. Potter seemed to move faster than is humanly possible. Either he has an enchanted device with him, or he can channel his magic in some form to make him move faster.

Dodges; the fireballs hit the Dragon Mage's chest with an unknown spell and sent him into the wall. The Dragon Mage is hurt but slowly raises and summons a dragon's head, and the head unleashes dragon fire down the road toward .

I want to point out that the recovered memories and witness of the battle saw the fire engulf Mr. Potter. Everyone thought Mr. Potter had perished, but the Dragon Mage was laughing. Mr. Potter appears behind the Dragon Mage and rams a sword through his back. We know said something to the Dragon Mage, which was said in Parseltongue. It's unknown what said to the dying Dragon Mage.

"We examine the body, and it seems a potent unknown poison poisoned the masked wizard. We are attempting to identify the type of poison. We have collected over 60 memories of the battle, taken from witnesses around the battle, including three photographers from the Daily Prophet. We have sequenced them together, and now we can watch the battle from start to finish.

"If you would put your hand on the Pensieve and watch the 5-minute-long battle, once you are through watching the battle, I would like to hear your thoughts on the battle, the magic that the dragon wizards used, and Mr. Potter's abilities." Director Bones, Moody, Croaker, and Dumbledore touched the Pensieve.

After five minutes, they remove their hand from the Pensieve. "That was very interesting," Dumbledore mutters. Alistor is shaking his head. "I would not believe Mr. Potter could cast that fast with no wand, and his sword was simply amazing." Croaker looks at the others and says, "Everything I have heard or watched about the Dragon Cabal was spot on. I noticed that the fire whip he was using was not a normal spell; the color of the flame was off, and how fast and precise it moved.

"I have no idea about anything Mr. Potter did. I can't even imagine the Headmaster or the last Dark Lord could even attempt to do half of what Mr. Potter did without a wand. Croaker announced.

You are correct, Croaker; Mr. Potter's wandless abilities surpass my abilities in that field. I will save you some time trying to track down the poison from Mr. Potter's sword; it's Basilisk poison."

"How is that possible?" Hammer asked.

"Mr. Potter used the sword to kill the basilisk terrorizing Hogwarts last year."

Croaker looked at the Headmaster. "That must be the basilisk sold on the market this summer."

"Yes, I believe it was, but how can a sword retain the venom of a basilisk?" Dumbledore took a deep breath. "I believe the sword Harry wields is the Sword of Gryffindor." Everyone in the room was shocked.

"Are you sure of this, Dumbledore?" asked the hooded figure of Croaker.

"Yes, Harry can summon it when he requires the sword."

"That sword should be taken and studied by my department," Croaker states.

Alistor laughs. "If you don't want to feel that sword's sting, I suggest you don't even try. I believe Mr. Potter would serve your head to you if you tried to take his sword."

"I agree with Alistor. Mr. Potter is very possessive of things that belong to his family and would not part with them willingly." Dumbledore said.

Headmaster," Director Bones asked, "did you have any idea how Mr. Potter can do any of the magic he has displayed in the battle?"

"No, I do not. Mr. Potter was somewhat disappointed with his grades and attitude toward his classes. He was always the first to master a new spell, but his theory was lacking. He never turned the other cheek when others were at risk. He risked life and limb again and again to save his fellow students. Watching him protect the innocent bystanders in the Alley is something he has always done. He will never turn his back on those who can't or won't fight back."

Alistor shakes his head in agreement. "One thing I did notice was Mr. Potter never once used a non-lethal spell; Everything he did was lethal. He meant to put those wizards down fast and brutal."

"Yes, I would agree with you. Mr. Potter does not hold back."Croacker agreed.

Hammer looked around the room. "Can you tell me anything about the dragon-masked wizard?

He knew how to fight; he would have won, but the sword was the turning point. I believe Mr. Potter repeatedly surprised him with his unique abilities." Moody said.

"I might have a thought or two on some of the magic used," Dumbledore answered. " Mr. Potter, magic, I need to discuss this with a friend and see if I am right. and the masked wizard used elemental magic." Dumbledore announced.

Everyone looked shocked. Director Bones looked at Dumbledore and asked, "Are you sure of this?"

"The Dragon mage element was the whip, and Everything he used was of fire. He leans toward the fire elements and uses a wand while casting the elemental magic. Everything I read matches what he was able to do." Dumbledore said.

"What Mr. Potter was able to do is another matter. He could do Everything without a wand. Only one other person in history could use wandless magic like that: Merlin himself." Dumbledore announced to the stunned room.

Croaker shakes his head. "I would try to argue with the Headmaster, but I agree with Everything Dumbledore has said. I have no idea what the other type of magic Mr. Potter uses, but I would like to be there for your interview with him when he wakes up."

"I will agree to allow you to be present at the interview as long as you both understand Hammer will lead the interview with Mr. Potter. If I feel you are hindering the investigation, you will be asked to leave, and you will leave." Director Bones said. Croaker and Dumbledore look at each other and agree.

Chapter: 115 "Safe Haven"

Daphne felt the familiar pull behind her navel as the emergency Portkey activated, whisking her away from the chaotic scene in Diagon Alley. The world blurred around her, and instantly, she found herself standing in the fortified safe room of her family manor house. The enchanted room exuded a sense of security, a sanctuary in times of danger.

The door swung open, and her mother rushed in, her eyes filled with worry. Roxanne, the family's trusty house elf, trailed behind, "Daphne! What happened? Why did your emergency Portkey go off?" her mother exclaimed, enveloping her tightly.

Daphne took a moment to compose herself, her eyes scanning the room to ensure she was indeed in the protective confines of the safe room. "Tracy and I were having ice cream in the Alley, and we met Harry Potter," she began, her cheeks faintly tinged with red at the mention of his name. "Harry grabbed me, and there was a huge explosion across the road, and now I'm here."

Roxanne, her wrinkled face expressing concern, approached Daphne, inspecting her for any signs of harm.

Daphne shook her head, reassuring her mother and the diligent house elf Matty. "I'm fine, Mom. I don't know what happened?"

Her mother's worry lines deepened, but relief softened her features. "We need to contact Tracy's family and make sure she's safe as well. Whatever happened in Diagon Alley, we'll get to the bottom."

The questions lingered as Daphne and her mother contacted Tracy's family. The unexpected encounter with Harry Potter altered their day, thrusting them into a mysterious and dangerous event that demanded answers.

"Matty," Mrs. Greengrass asks, the house elf wearing a tailored suit. "Would you be so kind as to bring me Daphne some hot chocolate with just a small dose of calming potion and a glass of wine?"

"Right away, Lady Greengrass," Matty snaps his fingers and vanishes.

Chapter 116 "Reunion and Concerns"

Roxanne turned and looked at Daphne, Tracy, and her mother. "Grace will be over soon. Let's wait in the sitting room for them," she suggested.

Matty appeared with a tray of drinks in his hands. "Lady Davis and her daughter Tracy have arrived. They will be in the sitting room shortly." He handed each of them their drinks. "Wine for Lady Davis and hot chocolate with a small dose of calming potion for Miss Tracy." The elf bowed and vanished.

Daphne followed her mother to the sitting room, where Tracy was already waiting. Tracy ran up to Daphne, hugging her tightly. "Are you okay, Daphne?"

Daphne smiled and nodded. "Yes, I am. Are you?"

"Of course! Your boyfriend protected us all with that green shield. He did it wandless, I might add."

"Let's wait," Daphne's mother interjected, sensing the need for the friends to share their experiences.

"Mom, shouldn't you tell Dad we are home and safe?" Daphne asked.

"Matty has already delivered a note to your father. I would bet he is at the Ministry, trying to find out all the information he can to see if the attack will affect our business in the Alley."

Chapter 117 "Unraveling Laughter"

Roxanne watched as everyone took a few drinks and enjoyed snacks from the finger foods. After a moment, curiosity got the better of her, and she couldn't hold back her question any longer. "What happened in the name of Merlin?"

She looked at Daphne, who, in turn, exchanged glances with her mom before taking a deep breath. "Fine, I will start. Tracy and I were sitting down, and this boy—"

"You mean hot, muscular boy, don't you?" Tracy interjected with a mischievous smile. Daphne glared at Tracy and continued with the story, "Tracy stood up and offered him a place at our table, as the place was full."

Tracy, undeterred, chimed in, "He agreed with me, and he sat down. Only to discover it's freaking Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived!" Tracy yelled, unable to contain her excitement.

Daphne shot her another glare. "Will you let me tell the story and stop interrupting me?"

Daphne continued, "It turns out it was Potter of all people who could have sat down with us. It had to be him."

Roxanne smiled at Daphne, encouraging her to continue.

"He starts to explain a few things that have happened in his life. That's when Daphne starts yelling at him and poking him in his chest with her spoon. It was so funny." Tracy burst into laughter, tears streaming down her face. "Potter was so scared he kept asking me what to do." Tracy recounted the humorous encounter between them, laughter punctuating her words.

Daphne continued to glare at Tracy, clearly irritated. "He deserved it. He said it was no big deal to fight a giant snake, get bitten, and have a phoenix cry into the wound to save his life. He was acting like it happened to so many people. Why should anyone be surprised by it?" She crossed her arms and turned to her mom.

"Tell them how you threatened to hex him if he does anything crazy," Tracy said laughingly.

Tracy, amidst laughter, "You see, Daphne was yelling at him and poking him, demanding she wants a normal year. If she doesn't get a normal year, she will hex him.

"So, he understands; this is not a normal year where you fight masked wizards in the Alley or a criminal is out to get you. I warned him, so he has no anyone to blame but himself when I hex him." Daphe stated.

Roxanne was surprised by her daughter's frustration over a boy she claimed to hate. "Daphne, how can you blame Mr. Potter for the fight?

Daphne sighed, her irritation evident. "Yes, Mom, I understand that. And look what happened. Just like last year, he ended up almost dead and in the healing wing. I think he should move into the healing wing so he has his bed." Roxanne was shocked; she knew her daughter was upset because he was hurt.

"Daphne, who are you mad at, him or yourself? It was not your fault he decided to help the Aurors fight the dark wizards." Roxanne asked

Tracy shook her head. "No way. Potter would have run into the fight and started blasting dark wizards."

The weight of the situation hung in the air, forcing Daphne to reconsider her perspective on Harry Potter's actions.

Chapter 118 "Confrontation and Concerns"

Daphne plopped onto the couch, frustration evident on her face. "Fine, you both are right, but I am going to hex him for being a stupid git, and no one will talk me out of it."

Roxanne and Grace exchanged a knowing smile as they observed their daughters.

The Floo came to life, and a few minutes later, Cyrus Greengrass walked through the door. His gaze swept the room, taking in the scene of Daphne and Tracy on the couch while his wife and Tracy's mom, Grace, engaged in quiet conversation on the sofa.

"Is everything okay?" Cyrus inquired.

"Yes, dear. The girls just finished their story about how they ended up talking to Harry Potter." Cyrus noticed his wife's smile. "Daphne is set on hexing Mr. Potter, in her words, for 'being a git and probably getting hurt again.'"

"That's interesting, dear. Should I be worried?" He chuckled.

"For him, you should be. Everything they told us about Mr. Potter. He's too noble." Cyrus took his seat in the chair next to the sofa. "Did you find out anything about the attack?" Roxanne inquired.

"Yes and no. Mad-Eye Moody showed up and helped take down a few of them. Mr. Potter also helped take down a few of them. He then engaged their leader and killed him." The room fell into a thoughtful silence as the weight of the recent news lingered. Cyrus informed them.

"Are you sure it was Mr. Potter who killed them? He killed three dark wizards, somehow and a sword appeared in his hand, and

How is that possible? He is in the same class as Daphne and Tracy?" Roxanne questioned.

"I don't understand it either. That's not the only news I found out. Two million Galleons were donated to the DMLE. The Ministry can't touch that money since the new law is in effect. Do you want to guess who the donator is?" Cyrus asked.

"It was Mr. Potter," Roxanne replied.

"Yes, it was, but how did you know?" Cyrus questioned.

"Everything I have heard about Mr. Potter and how he acts. The first thing he did when the explosion happened was not duck; he did not try to hide. He raised a shield to protect everyone from harm. He did not think about himself; he protected the innocent and our daughter with his body." Roxanne explained to them.

"Something happened to him last year besides fighting the basilisk. He was short, skinny, and so pale you thought he might be a vampire. He was late to classes, fighting in the halls, out after curfew. Don't get me wrong, his theory was weak, but no one could beat him in practice. After this summer, he reappears; he is tall, muscular, and can take on dark wizards. Something happened to him this summer. Not only did his appearance change but so did his attitude. It's almost like he is not the same Harry Potter we went to school with for the last two years," Daphne explained.

Tracy starts laughing. I can't wait to see what happens when he returns to school. I bet Draco and everyone else won't believe it was Potter who fought and defeated the dark wizards.

You mean kill Tracy; he killed them. People will get out of his way; he will make them get out if they don't. Daphne reasoned.

Tracy smiles. Seeing how he handles his two best friends, Granger and Wesley, will be interesting.

Chapter 119 "Potter's Determination"

At St. Mungo's, Tonks patrolled the secure floor, ensuring the DMLE officers did their job. She noticed two healers heading toward Potter's room and decided to follow them. As she walked in, she stopped and stared at the brightest green eyes she had ever seen, which appeared to be glowing.

Harry found himself in a hospital, the sterile environment of the healing wing surrounding him. Slowly surveying the room, the door opened; two healers and a red-robed young lady with pink hair walked in. He noted the pink-haired one; she arrived with Moody.

"How are you feeling, Mr. Potter?" the Healer on the right asked.

"Tired and sore. When can I leave?"

"Mr. Potter, you are in the beginning process of healing. The Healer explained.

"Okay, let me say this differently. Once I am finished answering the Ministry's questions, I will check myself out of this place."

Tonks seemed surprised, "I think you need to listen to the healers, Mr. Potter. You are in no condition to leave."

"Thank you for your advice, Auror Tonks, but I will leave. Could you advise your superiors? I am awake and ready to answer questions before I leave."

"Very well, Mr. Potter," she replied as she stepped out of the room, pushing her badge. "Moody, Potter's awake, ready to answer our questions before he leaves."

Moody received the call in his office. "Is Potter capable of leaving?" he inquired.

"I think so. The healers disagree with him," Tonks replied.

"I will let the director know," Moody answered.

The Director, Bones, was finalizing her notes for the Minister in a few hours when Moody walked in.

"What can I do for you, Alistor?" Director Bones asked.

"Potter is awake and wants to be questioned as soon as possible. He wants to check himself out of St. Mungo's." Moody stated.

Is he even capable of walking out on his own?" Director Bones asked.

She had no idea, but he was going to try. Moody answered.

"Let Hammer know, and I will contact Croaker and the Headmaster." Director Bones oreded.

Moody turned and walked out, and Bones walked over to the fireplace. "Albus, are you in the office?"

"Yes, Amelia, what can I do for you?"

"Mr. Potter is awake and wants to answer our questions as soon as possible."

Harry felt a surge of determination as he prepared himself for the upcoming interview. He knew that checking out of St. Mungo's might be difficult, but he was determined to go as soon as possible. Pushing his magic into the areas that needed healing, he realized that his current magical state wouldn't be sufficient. An elemental ritual of renewal would be necessary, requiring a specific property with a suitable circle for the ritual.

As he rested, thoughts of the ritual occupied his mind. It would involve more than the fire ritual: Earth for wisdom, air for knowledge, cold for purity, fire for destruction and rebirth, and wood to bind them together for renewal and life. The ritual would burn away his damaged body, a symbolic act of cleansing and transformation.

Amid these thoughts, Harry was surprised by the knowledge of such a ritual and how it was conducted. It was as if this information had been granted to him, and he couldn't help but attribute it to the Crown's gift of memories. The connection between him and the Crown, the reservoir of ancient magical knowledge, seemed to grow stronger, offering him insights and skills beyond his previous understanding.

His contemplation was interrupted as several auras, the Headmaster, a cloaked, hooded figure, and Director Amelia Bones entered his room.

Chapter 120 "The Interview of Hadrian Potter"

Director Amelia Bones addressed Mr. Potter, "This will be an interview regarding your actions against the wizards you fought in Diagon Alley."

Concerned, Mr. Potter inquired, "Director, am I being charged with anything?"

"No, Mr. Potter, you are not. You defended yourself and helped the DMLE handle the dark wizards," Director Bones assured. She then introduced Investigator Auror Connie Hammer to Mr. Potter.

Investigator Hammer greeted him, "Nice to meet you, Mr. Potter."

"I feel the same way, Investigator Hammer," Mr. Potter responded.

Director Bones looked at Hammer and said, "You may proceed."

Investigator Hammer: "What was the first sign the alley was under attack?"

Mr. Potter replied, "I felt the magic and an explosion, so I raised a shield to protect those outside the ice cream parlor."

Investigator Hammer: "How many wizards did you see, and how did you know they were a threat?"

Mr. Potter said, "That's easy. As soon as they walked out, they attacked a group of Aurors running to the scene."

Investigator Hammer: "Can you explain why you joined the battle, considering you are a 3rd-year student at Hogwarts?"

Mr. Potter asserted, "You should never consider someone's age when you are in a fight. Why did I join the battle? I could see they had the upper hand. As soon as the fight started, the Aurors went on the defensive, giving the wizards openings, and they could easily start harming the innocents around the Alley. So, I stepped in and engaged them."

Investigator Hammer then said, "It was noticed you were only using wandless abilities."

Mr. Potter responded, My wandless abilities are my own and will stay that way."

Albus Dumbledore interjected, "Harry, what happened to your old wand?"

Mr. Potter revealed, "It exploded shortly after the battle with the Basilisk."

Investigator Hammer pressed, "Could you give us more detail about your wand not working? The incident in question is the Type X Basilisk you killed and claimed the rights to the body under the slayer law. You filed it at the ICW instead of the Ministry."

Mr. Potter explained, "After the incident, my magic felt stronger. In the last month of school, I didn't need a wand because the tests were canceled due to the attacks. After classes, I found a place where I could heal, study, and train."

Investigator Hammer continued, "Where did you go after you left the train?"

Mr. Potter answered Investigator Hammer, " I received training over the summer from the goblins at Gringotts." The revelation caught Investigator Hammer by surprise, and she exchanged a glance with the others in the room. The notion of a young wizard receiving training from goblins was unprecedented, and the implications of such a connection stirred a mix of curiosity and wariness among those present. Harry continued, "They taught me various magical techniques, combat strategies, and the importance of understanding the magical world beyond just the wizarding community. It proved invaluable during the recent events in Diagon Alley." The room fell into a contemplative silence as Investigator Hammer processed this unexpected information.

Alistor Moody, with his magical eye fixed intently on Harry, finally broke the silence, his gravelly voice cutting through the air. "Why would goblins be training a human child, Potter?" he asked, his skepticism evident. Moody was known for his caution and suspicion, and the idea of goblins imparting knowledge to a wizard, especially a young one, seemed highly irregular. Harry met Moody's eye steadily, his green gaze unwavering.

"The goblins have their reasons," Harry replied cryptically,

Investigator Hammer asked, "After the first three wizards were taken down, did you notice a difference in the next three wizards who walked out of the shop?"

Mr. Potter explained, "Actually, only the middle wizard wearing the mask was different. His magic was strong, but he also had a bastardized version of elemental magic. It was like he could only use several spells from the elemental plane of fire and a weak air spell." Harry was surprised as he spoke about elemental magic and its connection to the mage. The intricate details of this magical knowledge seemed to flow effortlessly from his mind, surprising even himself. It dawned on him that this information, previously unknown to him, must have been a gift from the Crown. The realization left him contemplating the depths of the magical insights bestowed upon him, and he couldn't help but marvel at his mysterious connection with the ancient artifact.

Unspeakable 01 probed, "Why do you say bastardized version?"

Mr. Potter detailed, "The whip was intense and focused; you could feel its power. Elemental magic is not produced by normal magic; it's pulled from another plane of magic. Pulling from an elemental plane gives you a pure form of destructive magic. He was not capable of being able to draw elemental magic in the traditional sense. Every time he used elemental magic, he paid a price for taking magic from the plane of fire. It was slowly burning him from the inside out; sooner or later, he would have combusted."

A hushed silence enveloped the room as Harry calmly mentioned the inevitable fate of the masked wizard. The notion that the mage would combust due to his distorted use of elemental magic hung in the air, sending shivers down the spines of those present. Investigator Auror Connie Hammer furrowed her brow in both disbelief and a hint of horror while Dumbledore's eyes betrayed a deep contemplation of the implications. Moody's ever-vigilant eye narrowed in consideration, recognizing the severity of the consequences of wielding such volatile magic. The Unspeakables exchanged meaningful glances, acknowledging the gravity of the revelation. It was a moment of collective realization that they had encountered a force of magic beyond the conventional, a power that, if misused, could lead to catastrophic outcomes.

Investigator Auror Connie Hammer, intrigued by Harry's consistent use of the term "mage" instead of "wizard" for the golden dragon-masked assailant, raised an eyebrow and inquired, "Mr. Potter, why do you refer to him as a mage rather than a wizard?"

Harry took a moment to gather his thoughts before responding, "The distinction lies in his power and the nature of his magic. Wizards draw on magical energies from within our world, but this mage had different magical strengths. It wasn't just wizardry; it was a raw, primal magic that surpassed anything the other masked wizards had. His power was nearly four times greater than theirs."

Hammer and the others exchanged glances, trying to comprehend the significance of what Harry had disclosed. The idea of a magical strength that far surpassed conventional wizardry added another layer of complexity to the already mysterious events in Diagon Alley.

The Unspeakable, intrigued by Harry's assertion of the mage's magical strength, asked, "Mr. Potter, how do you determine the magical strength, and how do you know it was nearly four times greater than the other masked wizards?"

Looking slightly surprised, Harry responded, "Can't all of you see the magical auras around yourselves? When the masked wizards appeared, their auras were strong, but the golden dragon-masked mage... his magical presence was overwhelming. It was like comparing a flickering candle to a blazing inferno.

The room fell into a thoughtful silence as the gravity of Harry's words sank in. The ability to perceive magical auras was indeed fundamental for wizards. Still, Harry's keen insight into the relative strengths had shed new light on the magnitude of the threat they had faced in Diagon Alley.

Dumbledore, recognizing the significance of Harry's unique skill, leaned forward and spoke, "Mr. Potter, what you describe is a rare and advanced ability known as 'Mage Sight.' Not many wizards possess this talent; it allows individuals to perceive magical auras with greater clarity and precision. Your capability to gauge the mage's strength using Mage Sight is a testament to your exceptional magical insight."

Harry, absorbing Dumbledore's explanation, nodded in acknowledgment. The term "Mage Sight" resonated with him, and he realized that his innate perception of magical auras went beyond the standard abilities of most wizards. The revelation added another layer to the mysteries surrounding his magical capabilities.

Chapter 121 "The Interview of Hadrian Potter"

Albus Dumbledore wanted to get the interview back on course and asked: If he could not draw the magic to him, how did he do it? Can you explain how you know and understand the workings of elemental magic?

Mr. Potter: Have you examined his body? I bet he has a hidden rune matrix on his body. It would not show up in a magical scan. It would have to be located in the arm that wields his wand. So, it would be on his right arm. I imagine the rune users would become unhinged, losing their minds as their bodies are destroyed by the magic they call upon. To use elemental magic, the elements must accept you to use their magic gifts. If you subvert it, you will pay the price; usually, it is your life. You are stealing magic from their plane, and they will not stand for it. You have broken an ancient taboo, and beings such as elementals have long memories and never forgive.

As the questions continued, Harry was surprised by the depth of his understanding of the mage's use of elemental magic. It was as if a wellspring of knowledge had opened within him, and he could explain intricate details with a certainty that defied his awareness of how he came to possess such information. The thought lingered in his mind that perhaps the crown's gift of memories played a role in this newfound expertise. Yet, during the interview, Harry focused on the immediate concerns, sharing what he knew about the mage's dangerous manipulation of elemental forces.

Unspeakable 01: How do you know about the elementals and the ancient Taboo?

When pressed further about his knowledge of elemental magic and the ancient taboo, Harry hesitated, a reluctance evident in his eyes. "I'm sorry, but certain aspects of my understanding are tied to family secrets, and I've been advised not to disclose them," Harry explained; despite the pressing questions, he refused to divulge the source of his understanding, choosing to keep certain aspects of his newfound knowledge private. The nature of the crown's gift of memories and the peculiar insights it provided remained a mystery even to him, and he wasn't willing to expose that secret, especially when it came to matters as sensitive as the ancient elemental taboo.

Albus Dumbledore, ever curious, sought further clarification on the concept of stealing magic from the elemental plane, his eyes filled with curiosity. "Mr. Potter, you mentioned stealing magic from the fire plane. Could you elaborate on how one steals magic from an elemental plane and the consequences you spoke of?"

Harry briefly considered Dumbledore's question before responding, "Stealing magic from the elemental plane involves forcefully extracting magical energy from the realm of fire. It violates the natural order, and in return, the elements take a toll on the perpetrator. The consequences can range from physical deterioration to mental instability. The elements are not passive power sources; they are conscious and demand respect. When their magic is stolen, they retaliate to restore balance."

Dumbledore, though intrigued, maintained a measured expression as he absorbed this explanation, realizing that Harry's knowledge extended beyond the conventional understanding of magical principles.

The Unspeakable, still processing Harry's previous statements, sought further clarification. "You said the elements are conscious, but how is that possible? How do they react and know when someone is stealing their magic?"

With a calm demeanor, Harry explained, "In ancient times, humans used to worship the elements as gods. There are lesser and greater elementals, and they are conscious beings. When humans worshipped them, the elements reciprocated by allowing their worshippers to use their magical power. It's a relationship built on respect and symbiosis. The greater elementals, being immensely powerful, are aware of our existence, and when someone attempts to steal their magic, they perceive the disturbance. It violates the ancient pact between wizards and the elemental forces."

The Unspeakable, absorbing this unconventional perspective on magic, considered the implications of a world where the elements had consciousness and agency. The revelation added a mystique to the magical realm that went beyond the usual teachings in the wizarding world.

The Unspeakable, who had dedicated their research to understanding the mysteries of the elemental forces, was visibly shocked. This knowledge was held closely within the Department of Mysteries, and very few knew the ancient Taboo associated with stealing magic from the elemental planes. The fact that Harry Potter, a young wizard, not only knew about it but openly shared the secret with a room of people left the Unspeakable grappling with astonishment and concern. The revelation hinted at a depth of understanding that surpassed the usual boundaries of magical education, raising questions about the source of Harry's knowledge and the potential ramifications of revealing such guarded information.

Dumbledore, still processing the depth of Harry's knowledge about elemental magic, couldn't help but express his surprise. He turned to Harry and said, "I've always been cautioned against delving too deeply into the mysteries of elemental magic. There have been warnings that such pursuits may lead to unforeseen consequences and that it's an area best left untouched. How did you come by this knowledge, Harry?"

Harry, maintaining a calm demeanor, replied, "I sought out this knowledge because I believe that understanding the elements is crucial for anyone seeking to protect themselves and others. The forces that govern our world are not to be underestimated. I learned about the ancient Taboo, the conscious nature of the elements, and the consequences of stealing their magic. It's a part of a broader understanding that goes beyond the conventional teachings at Hogwarts."

Though still shocked, Dumbledore listened intently as Harry spoke, realizing that the young wizard had delved into realms of magic rarely explored by others and had acquired a unique perspective on the magical world.

Moody, known for his keen sense of danger, cut straight to the heart of the matter. He focused on Harry and questioned, "Potter, if the greater elementals discover someone stealing their magic, will they settle for just that wizard's death?"

Harry, recognizing the severity of the situation, shook his head solemnly. "No, they won't be satisfied with just one death. The greater elementals are vengeful, akin to the old gods of ancient times. If they find out about the theft of their magic, they will seek not only the death of the thief but also the one who taught them how to steal it. That's the problem. If this mage has found a way to steal elemental magic and is part of the Dragon Cabal, there's a high probability that others within the cabal are engaging in similar practices." I am not sure what outcome they will seek.

Moody's eye widened, and he exchanged a concerned glance with his fellow investigators. The gravity of the situation became apparent as they realized the potential implications of the theft of elemental magic by members of the Dragon Cabal.

Investigator Hammer: You have answered all my questions, Mr. Potter. I want to thank you for your patience and cooperation in this matter.

Having overheard Harry's detailed discussion on elemental magic during the interview, Unspeakable waits till everyone walks toward the door. "Mr. Potter, a word of advice. Your knowledge about elemental magic is highly classified and not commonly understood. I strongly advise against discussing it with anyone else unless necessary. It's a matter of your safety and the security of magical knowledge."

Harry nodded, realizing the gravity of the situation. "I appreciate the warning,. I'll be cautious about sharing this information. It's a family secret, and I understand the consequences of revealing too much."

Croaker gave a curt nod. "Good. Elemental magic is not to be taken lightly, and its secrets are closely guarded. If you have any questions or concerns, you know where to find m

Chapter 122 "The Security Protocol"

As everyone stood up and bid Harry goodbye, the Director and the others who were witnesses to the debriefing at St. Mungas headed to the Auror department. However, outside the department, the Minister of Magic, Lord Malfoy, and the Under Secretary of Magic, Madam Umbridge, could not enter.

Amelia, what is the meaning of this? The door would not open to allow us into the department.

Amelia replied, "That's correct, Minister. The wards only allow Aurors or those who work in the department onto the floor. If you are neither of those, you must wait until someone can escort you to whoever you wish to see. It's a new security measure I have placed upon the department."

The Minister demanded, "On whose authority?"

"I am the Director of the DMLE; I also control the wards.

I think you are stepping beyond your authority, Amelia," Minister retorted.

I am taking back what I should have been in charge of in the first place. You may look it up in the regulations of the Ministry," Director Bones stated.

Umbridge cleared her throat, adding, "You might be right about that, Bones, but the Minister can and will decide as he pleases about the safety and security of the Ministry.

He may make whatever decision he likes, but the safety and security fall to the Director of DMLE, and that would be me."

"You are correct, but your position could change," Lord Malfoy replied.

Unfazed, Bones did not even turn to address him, saying, "You can try to remove me, but you won't be successful."

"Wait a minute, Amelia; why did you not notify me when you went to arrest Potter?" questioned the Minister.

"First, I did not go there to arrest Mr. Potter; we went to interview him. The second reason you were not notified is that you have no right to know what we are doing with the investigation. You deal with the politics, not the safety and security; that's my job. Once I compile the reports, I will brief you on the situation. Director Bones informed them.

That is unacceptable," Madame Umbridge shrieked.

Director Bones smiled, saying, "If you read the regulation, that's exactly what they say. Now, if you excuse me, we must discuss what happened during the attack in the Alley.

Moody burst into laughter as the door closed behind them. "I don't think I have ever seen the Minister turn that color of red before," he chuckled.

Albus shook his head, expressing his concern. "I hope you know what you are doing, Madame Bones. The Minister never forgets a slight."

Director Bones, unfazed, responded, "I am not worried. As long as I do my job, I have no fear of being fired."

Moody and Croaker immediately initiated security measures when they entered the conference room. Croaker created privacy bubbles to ensure their conversation remained confidential. "Now we are secure. Who would like to start?" he inquired.

Chapter 123 "Shadows of Allegiance"

Croaker received an urgent note from his team summarizing their findings on the bodies. As he read through the report, shock registered on his face. The leader of the Dragon Wizards was revealed to be a captain of the ICW special security forces. The implications were profound, and Croaker felt a chill run down his spine.

Approaching Director Bones without hesitation, Croaker shared the startling revelation, "Director, we have a significant development. The leader of the Dragon Wizards was a captain on the ICW special security forces. It adds a layer of complexity to our investigation and raises questions about potential infiltration or collaboration between dark forces and official institutions." The gravity of the situation hung in the air as they considered the implications of this unexpected connection.

As Croaker revealed the unexpected link between the Dragon Wizards' leader and the ICW special security forces, a hushed silence settled over the room. Moody's eyes narrowed in suspicion, and his grizzled face became even more intense. Hammer's eyebrows furrowed, showing concern and curiosity, while Dumbledore's eyes betrayed a flicker of surprise. The revelation injected a new layer of intrigue into an already complex situation. Each person present contemplated the potential consequences of such an alliance, and an air of unease lingered among them. Once filled with discussion, the room now held a palpable tension as they grappled with the implications of this unsettling revelation.

As Director Bones scanned the faces in the room, her eyes met each team member's gaze. "Now that we know of the connection to the ICW, we can bet we will have visitors soon, and they will want his body."

Moody's jaw tightened, a silent growl escaping him. He muttered, "If they think we're handing over evidence to anyone without a thorough investigation, they're in for a surprise."

Hammer, already focused and intense, nodded in agreement. "We can't let them just waltz in and take control. We need to uncover the extent of this connection before anyone else interferes."

Dumbledore, usually composed, showed a trace of concern. "The International Confederation of Wizards won't take kindly to this revelation. We must tread carefully; the implications of an infiltrated security force are vast."

Tapping her quill on the table, Hammer added, "We should compile a detailed report, presenting our findings with utmost clarity. We can't afford any gaps or doubts that might give them room to question the connection."

Director Bones nodded, "I'll contact the ICW personally to assure them of our commitment to a thorough investigation. We present ourselves as allies in rooting out corruption, not as adversaries."

Dumbledore, intrigued by Director Bones' strategic approach, leaned back and said, "Since I stepped down as Supreme Mugwump, no new leader has been appointed at the ICW. However, I might still have some sway among certain members. I might be able to influence the election in favor of a leader sympathetic to our cause. I can contact my contacts and see if we can find common ground."

Director Bones nodded appreciatively at Dumbledore's willingness to use his influence for the good of the Ministry.

Investigator Hammer turned to Croaker and asked, "Can you instruct your Unspeakable to examine the arm of the deceased Dragon Cabal leader for runes? We need to verify if what Mr. Potter claimed about hidden runes on the right arm is accurate."

Croaker nodded in agreement, acknowledging the importance of confirming Potter's statements for the integrity of their investigation.

"Where do we start? Mr. Potter leaves school as a slightly above-average student, disappears for three months, and returns able to fight and kill three wizards of the Dragon Cabal."

Moody expressed disbelief, "I don't believe it. No way did Potter find out he was this powerful. I believe he was hiding his full potential from everyone."

Director Bones questioned, "Why would he do such a thing?"

Moody explained, "To see who his enemies are. If they see you as a slightly above-average student, they might not hide from you but openly be hostile toward you."

Madame Bones nods in agreement. "You might be right, Moody. I understand that Draco Malfoy and half a dozen other Slytherin students go out of their way to cause trouble for him. As does Professor Snape, according to my niece and her friends who have watched him pick on Potter. Yet Potter always wins in the end, so I believe you are right; he hides his true potential."

Albus didn't like the mention of his professor, but he couldn't argue with the point that was made. Professor Snape still carried his hatred for Harry's father and wouldn't let it go. Albus took a deep breath. " Harry has changed at the end of this year, for better or worse. Something has made him stop hiding in the shadows and step out into the light."

Director Bones looked at Albus, asking, "What do you mean? He fought and killed a basilisk at the end of the school year; I believe it almost killed him. I think it affected him and how he is behaving. One thing is sure: he has been training for longer than three months to use wandless magic. He also has a deep understanding of elemental magic that is not taught anywhere that I know of.

"I would have to guess who invented the use of those runes. They do not know they are stealing from the elemental plane. I would believe they think they have found a way to make their wizards stronger by enhancing a spell or two of each wizard with a rune matrix." Hammer suggests.

Hammer looks at Croaker, "But what would happen if you are not acceptable to that element?"

"I think you would explode or flash-fry yourself," Croaker informed them.

Madame Bones looks around the table; does anyone here have a suggestion on how we handle Mr. Potter from this point forward?

Moody crackles. I would suggest we leave him alone. He broke no law. We have no reason to talk to him again. He will be leaving for Hogwarts in a week or less. Then it will be Albus' problem, not ours, he laughs.

"Well, thank you for that," Moody Albus dryly responds.

Director Bones looks at the Headmaster. "I am in no position to tell you what to do, but I would suggest you get a handle on the bullying problem at Hogwarts. That was part of the discussion we had the other night at the Board of Governors."

Dumbledore smiled appreciatively. "Thank you, Amelia. I will share my proposal with the Board of Governors, and I hope they support implementing the necessary changes.

Investigator Hammer interjected, redirecting the attention back to the matter at hand. "Director Bones, Headmaster Dumbledore, while addressing the issues at Hogwarts is undoubtedly important, let's not lose sight of the current situation. We need to delve into the details of Mr. Potter's revelations about the Dragon Cabal and the potential involvement of the ICW special security forces. These are pressing matters that demand our immediate attention."

After another two hours of intense discussion, Dumbledore excuses himself to prepare for the meeting with the Board of Governors. Croaker also takes his leave, recognizing the need to follow up on their few leads regarding the Dragon Wizards. The room, now left with Director Bones, Investigator Hammer, and Moody, feels the weight of the unfolding events and the uncertainties ahead.

Director Bones looks at Moody now that Croaker and Albus have departed.

Moody asks, "Why were specific questions not asked?"

Director Bones takes a deep breath and shares her suspicions. " Albus already knows about the dark lord who is still alive, and I alerted Croaker privately. He is investigating the matter. Croaker is delving into how the dark lord survived without a body. Once he has some answers, I plan to have a long conversation with Albus about this dark lord. I will also attempt to arrange a meeting with Mr. Potter to discuss this and other matters we left out of the interview. If I inform the Minister about the dark lord, he might divulge Everything to Malfoy, and we can't afford that."

Moody chuckles. "Sounds like a plan to me. Now we hope Mr. Potter is finished with his announcements."
