"Sir, sir!"
Olly looked up. He was halfway through folding his fiftieth crane, and the Koopa Troopa thought it was a good idea to interrupt him?
"What is it? Please tell me you come bearing good news?"
The Koopa Troopa stayed silent.
Olly sat up. "What is it, then?"
"You should look at this, sir." He handed Olly the Seeing-eye orb.
Olly rubbed it a few times until the image cleared up. It showed Mario and Olivia freeing a Toad that was folded into a flower. Mario then proceeded to toss confetti onto a Non-bottomless hole. Olly's hands started shaking with rage.
"S-sir...? Are you alright?"
"You are dismissed," he said through gritted teeth. He waited until the Koopa Troopa left before calling in Scissors.
"Yes, my King?"
"Why are you just letting Mario do this?!"
"My King, you told us to protect the streamers with our lives-"
Olly was slamming the Seeing-eye Orb against the table near Peach's throne. It wasn't breaking, so he tossed it at the wall instead.
Scissors hopped a little closer. "My King, you shouldn't overreact in this manner. Do you not recall what happened last time?"
Olly threw the Seeing-eye orb at Scissors' handles, it smashing to pieces. "Huff, huff, huff...That Mario...! He's ruining everything!"
"Ow." Scissors shook the glass shards off. "My King, do not loose your temper! Do you wish to lose your progress?"
Olly looked at the cranes surrounding the throne. "No..." He sat back down. "Aah!"
"What is it?! What's the matter?!"
"A piece of glass stabbed me in the leg..."
"Ah!"
"That should do it."
Olly looked at the bandage on his leg. He moved his leg up and down a few times, then sighed.
"What am I doing wrong? How is this failing so quickly?"
"My King, you are but a child. You should have expected this to go poorly, especially since you are battling against an experienced adult!"
"Are you saying I can't do it?" Olly asked, tears building up in his eyes.
"O-of course not, my King! I was just saying that you are going to have to try a lot harder if you want to stop Mario!"
Olly sniffed and wiped away his forming tears. "So, what are you saying?"
"I'm saying, you should let me stop Mario, there and now! The sooner I put an end to him, the better!"
"But, what about your post?"
"My King, the longer we wait for Mario to unravel the streamers, the stronger he'll get! Let me take Jean-Pierre's place! I will be no match for him!"
Olly considered it for a moment. "Are you sure this is a great idea? If he survives, he'd know how to beat you. Plus, that area is far too small for you to properly use your Final Cut ability."
"Um..."
"PLUS I want to see exactly how well Mario fares against Jean-Pierre Colored Pencils the twelfth."
"B-but-"
"Look, Scissors, I know you're itching for a fight with Mario, but you need to be patient with my plan. I know what I'm doing. I don't want to end it too quickly, because I want to try to reapply the message in our battle as well."
"Y-you want to fight him...?"
"Of course! I wasn't expecting any of you to stop him! I don't want any of you to die, however, so my tactic was for you all to retreat near the end."
"Retreat?!"
"Yes, did I stutter?"
"That is such a cowardly move!"
"It's not cowardly when it's part of a plan, is it?" Olly kicked his feet and smiled. "I don't want to lose you all. You have all cared for me so much throughout today, so why would I wish to lose you to the enemy?"
"That's unlike you, my King."
Olly stopped kicking his feet and his smile faded. "I can't possibly try to make it up to Olivia; I trapped her in a wall."
"Is this where that's coming from?"
Olly nodded.
"You still care for her?"
"O-of course...she's my sister..."
"Then apologize and stop now, if you care so much."
"You're being rude, Scissors. Are you upset that I didn't let you change the plan?"
"Perhaps a little..."
Olly sighed. "Scissors...you need to stop being so stubborn."
"And so do you."
Olly glared at him. "This is for the greater good of the kingdom, Scissors! Destroying the Toads is the only way to protect Olivia and I!"
Scissors stayed silent.
Olly took a deep breath and exhaled sharply. "You're dismissed, Scissors. I'll continue working on my cranes."
Author note: I started the game over yesterday...and found out I made a few mistakes! (Haha oops.) Some mistakes I made were:
Olivia wasn't talking formally enough.
Olly was talking TOO formally (but that's an easy fix).
I missed some important lines of dialogue between the Origami Twins during the first cutscene you meet Olly in. (He literally disowned his sister wow.)
Olly and Olivia being super rude about how weak the Goombas are. (Both of them are so rude lol)
I will no longer be writing this story using a guide (like I was) so I can get the cutscenes more accurate. I will instead be writing it as I go along in the game.
(Which means I'm going on a temporary hiatus until tomorrow.)
Um.
Stay Fresh!
