Chapter 10: Eyes of a Beast
Cerulean City- Alleyway
The sounds of people and Pokémon walking around the city streets on a warm afternoon day. As everyone walked around, Shay and Kite leaned on the walls of an alleyway; looking at each person walking by the entrance of the alleyway. "Shay? Any new information about Team Rocket yet?" Kite asked him. "No. Not yet." Shay replied as he looked at his phone, and then put it away. "Seriously? Not even Lulu told you anything?" Kite replied. Shay nodded his head yes to his question. "The last thing that I heard from Lulu is that she and Rin are investigating with the other members in Celadon City." he said. "Celadon City, huh? Isn't that the city where Yuto's friend was taken to by Team Rocket?" Kite replied. "Yeah. Knowing my sister, she and Rin would be looking at the abandoned Game Corner where Team Rocket's lab was for anything if Yuto and his brothers told them everything we know now." Shay replied. "Right." Kite replied.
They then turned back to the entrance of the alleyway, and saw me walking alone with Tetrax on my shoulder. "What the..." said Kite. "It's Taylor! What is she doing walking around the city by herself?" Shay replied. "Probably to train her team or something." Kite replied. Shay blinked his eyes, and then prepared himself to follow me. "What the hell are you doing!?" said Kite. "I'm going to see what she's upto." Shay replied. "Are you crazy!? What if any of our enemies are here and see you stalking her!? Look, Shay. I understand that she is a childhood friend of your sister, and the second Guardian that we know of after Yuto... but we've got to let her handle some things on her own. Plus, didn't you forget that we assigned the Sakaki brother's to keep their eyes on her?" Kite replied. Shay sighed in agony, and then put his bag on his shoulder.
"You're right. But still... I want to send out one of my Pokémon to watch and see what she's doing if Yuto and his brothers are not around." he said as he took out a PokéBall from his belt. "Okay? You're sending out one of your birds to watch her for us?" Kite replied. "Yeah. I am. And if something happens to her, my Pokémon will return to me and tell us what happened." Shay replied. He gently threw the PokéBall up in the air, watched it open, and saw his Pokémon appear. "Talonflame." said the Pokémon as it flapped its wings while mid air. "Ah. Talonflame. Haven't seen him on special missions in a while." Kite replied.
"Yeah. It's rare every now and then I send Talonflame on a mission like this. And this will give the time to stretch his wings and fly by himself while we keep on the lookout for and members of Team Rocket." Shay replied as he put a collar with a small camera around Talonflame's neck. "Tal-on?" said Talonflame. "Okay, old friend. I've got a special mission for you. See this person in the photo here?" Shay replied. "Flame? Tal-onflame." Talonflame replied as it studied a picture of me and nodded its head. "I need you to observe her from a distance and keep an eye on her. If something happens to her, I want you to come back and report it to me. Got it?" Shay replied. "Talonflame." Talonflame replied with a nod of its head. After that, Talonflame jumped up, flapped its wings, and then flew up in the air; beginning its search for me. "Alright. Let's get moving." said Shay. "Right." Kite replied. After that, they left the alleyway and continued their mission.
Pokémon Center
"I see that you have made some progress on your journey, Zachary. You and your friends have caught a good amount of Pokémon." said a voice on the screen phone. "Thanks, Grandpa. It means a lot." Zach replied as he and the group looked at his grandfather, Professor Oak, on the screen. "And I see that Patrick's special invention is working out very nicely to switch around the Pokémon in your party." Professor Oak replied. "Thank you, Professor. So far, only Taylor and Celina are the only ones using their boxes, and it has been a complete success!" Pat replied happily. "That is great to hear! With an invention like yours, Patrick... I can see a very successful future for you as an Inventor." Professor Oak replied. Pat smiled happily at the Professor, and gave his Bulbasaur a hug; making it happy. "Saur~" said Bulbasaur happily. It then did a vine fist bump with Zach's Wartortle; making it happy too. "Oh? Zach... I see that your Squirtle has evolved into Wartortle." said Professor Oak.
"Yep. He sure has. He evolved when we were in a battle on Mt. Moon protecting the giant Moon Stone." Zach replied. "War-tortle." Wartortle replied. "The giant Moon Stone!? You got to see it!?" Professor Oak replied surprised. "Yeah! We helped the Clefairy and Clefable protect the Moon Stone from three Trainers that tried to take it from them. And Taylor even caught a Clefairy and a Clefable!" Zach replied. "She did! It's all true, Professor." Zuzu replied. "She did!? That's incredible! You kids must've been some very special Trainers to find where the giant Moon Stone is and meet all the Clefairy and Clefable there." Professor Oak replied. The group smiled and nodded their heads in agreement. "Speaking of which... where is Taylor? Did she go to Cerulean Gym to battle the Gym Leader?" he asked them. "Nope. She's going to Route 25 to train her team for the day. She wants to see which Pokémon would be the ones battling Misty." Celina replied.
"Ah. I see... she's trying to come up with a strategy to use against Misty? Very well then, tell her that I wish her the best of luck for the battle." he replied. "We will, Grandpa." Zach replied. After that, the call had ended and the group gathered their things and walked out of the Pokémon Center.
Water Fountain
"So? What do you guys want to do today?" Sora asked them. "I wanna do some battling!" Pat replied. "Really? Like right now?" Celina replied. "Yeah! We can battle some wild Pokémon or Trainers to help them get stronger and used to battle!" he replied. "Yeah!" Sora replied happily. "I don't know..?" Zach replied. "Oh come on, Zach! You gotta let your team get some experience just for a little bit. Besides, don't you want to prove to your brother that you want to defeat him in battle with a stronger team than his?" Pat replied. Zach was stunned by what he had said, and then lowered his head in defeat. "See? And you always say that I don't remember that conversation." he said. "...Alright. You win." Zach replied. "Alright! Anyways... Zuzu, Celina! What are you two going to do today?" Sora replied.
"I want to practice for the upcoming Contest." Zuzu replied. "You do? Do you want to practice to show how you have improved?" Celina replied. "Mhm. Plus, it would give Vulpix and Pikachu a chance to get used to each other when they combine their moves together." Zuzu replied. "Vul!" Vulpix replied happily. "Pi-ka-chu!" Zuzu's Pikachu replied. "A move combination?" Celina replied curiously. "Mhm." Zuzu replied. "That is if you can successfully do it." said a voice. The group was shocked by the voice, turned around, and saw a familiar face. "Sylvio!" they said. Sylvio looked at them curiously, blinked his eyes, and watched them walk upto him. "Did you just say what I think you said?" said Zuzu. "What? I was just stating the truth." Sylvio replied. "What truth?" Zuzu replied. "About move combinations. It is something very hard to do for rookie Coordinators like yourself. Trust me. I had this problem with my Glaceon and Tyranitar in the Saffron City contest." Sylvio replied.
"Oh, really? Was this the one contest that you two and Yuya were in where their Dad's were judges?" Celina replied as she crossed her arms. "Indeed. When I saw both you and Yuya's fathers judging that day, I knew that I had to step up my game. But we lacked in synchronicity. It was like that we never truly clicked. So after my defeat, I then went to challenge myself and the bond of my two beloved Pokémon. After long and vigorous training, our bond began to truly shine in the next Contests." Sylvio replied. "Is that so?" Zuzu replied as she crossed her arms. "It is so. Anyways... what are all of you doing out here? And where is Taylor?" he replied. "We're about to do some training." Pat replied. "And as for Taylor... she went to do some training on her own. Why do you want to know where she is? Are you planning something?" Zach replied. "Me? Oh, heavens, no. I'm not planning anything. Actually, I want to find her and ask her something." Sylvio replied.
"Ask her about what?" Zach replied. "About how she handled those Gyarados two days ago." Sylvio replied. The group's eyes widened in shock to what he had said, and then looked at each other worriedly. "Oh, come on! You all saw what she did with those things! It was like she was a superhuman or something! Now where is she! I need to know how she did it!" he told them. "But... why do you want to know?" Sora replied. "Yeah? It's not really your business to know about it. It's hers. And hers alone." Celina replied. Sylvio was agitated by Celina's response, but then calmed himself. "Fine. If you won't tell me where she is, then I shall challenge you to a battle! If I win, you tell me where she is. And if I lose, you can keep her location secret." he said. "What!? Are you crazy!?" Sora replied. "Why would we battle you just for her location? That seems very petty of you." Zach replied. "Petty? You? You of all people are calling me petty?" Sylvio replied. "Yeah. I am." Zach replied. "War-tortle." Wartortle replied.
Sylvio looked down at Wartortle, and then back upto Zach; seeing a stern look in his eyes. "So... you really are just like your brother, aren't you?" he said. "...What did you just say?" Zach replied. "Uh oh." Pat replied worriedly. "You heard me, Zachary. You chose the same starter that your brother did. Hmph. I'm probably not surprised that you would catch the same Pokémon as him. Poor, poor Zachary. You really can't get out of the shadow of a former regional Champion like your brother, can't you?" Sylvio replied. Zach's eyes widened in shock and anger to what Sylvio had said, clutched his hands into fists, and then walked upto Sylvio with pure anger in his eyes. "Zach! Zach! Stop it! It's not worth it!" said Celina worriedly. "Zach! Chill!" Pat replied worriedly as they watched Sylvio begin to back away in fear.
The two Trainers then stared each other down; showing off their emotions. "Alright! Enough!" said Zuzu as she put herself in between them; shocking them. "If you want a battle, Sylvio... then you got one." she said. "What!?" Sora, Pat, and Celina replied in shock. "Zach and I will tag team together against you. Right on the outdoor battlefield at the Pokémon Center." she replied. "Zuzu..." Zach replied in a soft, surprised tone. "Zach. I'm not going to sit around and let you and the others take on his and friends bullying anymore. It's time that we all stand up for ourselves, and show him that we are stronger than he thinks we are. So what do you say? You want to join me in the battle?" she replied. Zach blinked his eyes, thought about it for a moment, and then nodded his head yes to her question. "Sure. I'll team up with you." he said.
"What!?" Pat, Celina, and Sora replied in shock. "Huh!? Hmph. Very well then. I accept you challenge!" Sylvio replied. "Yeah. And we're going to have that match at the Pokémon Center... right now." Zach replied. "Wh-what!? Right now!? Are you both out of your minds!? I just got my Pokémon groomed today!" Sylvio replied. "Well they can have another one later." Zuzu replied. "After we teach you a lesson about messing with us." Zach replied. "Tort!" Wartortle replied. "Vul!" Vulpix replied. "Fine. Let's get this over with." Sylvio replied. After that, the three Trainers began their walk to the Pokémon Center. Pat, Celina, and Sora followed their lead a few seconds later. "Man... I've never seen Zach that pissed off in my life..." said Pat. "Yeah. He got as angry as Tay did when Sylvio made a similar comment to her." Celina replied. "Let's just hope he doesn't lose his temper in battle." Pat replied. Celina nodded her head in agreement to his response, and then the trio resumed their walk after Zach and Zuzu; nervously wondering how this battle will play out.
Route 25
"Pi-ka-chu!" said Tetrax as he used Thunderbolt on moving targets in the water. Tsunami swam in the water wearing the targets above him and moved around in the water for Tetrax to hit and focus on the targets; simulating swimming Pokémon. "Bullseye! Great job, you two!" I said happily. "Pi-ka!" Tetrax replied happily. Tsunami rose up from the water and let out a happy noise. The two Pokémon turned to each other, and smiled happily at each other; proud of the teamwork they just accomplished. "Training for the Gym battle, I see?" said a voice. "Huh?" I replied as I turned around; wondering who just talked. As I looked around, I saw a Noivern fly down to me and carried someone on its back. As the person jumped down to the ground, I immediately recognized them. "Oh! It's you. The cloaked Guardian." I said. "Heh. So you do remember me?" he replied with a chuckle. "Yeah. Of course I do. How could I ever forget the one who helped me with saving the city?" I replied. "True." he replied.
We shook hands for a moment, and then heard three more footsteps nearby. We turned around and saw his friends walk upto us. "What are you three doing? I told you that I had this under control." he told them. "We know... but you should know about that in the tree over there." one of his friends replied as he pointed at the tree to his right. We all turned to the tree and saw a bird Pokémon sitting on a branch; looking down at us. "What is that?" I asked. "It's a Talonflame." the cloaked Guardian replied. "A Talonflame?" I replied. I took out my phone and activated my PokéDex. "Talonflame, the Scorching Pokémon. A Fire and Flying type, and the evolved form of Fletchinder. During an intense battle, Talonflame expels embers from gaps between its feathers. It reaches speeds of more than 310 mph catching prey." said my PokéDex.
Talonflame stared at us silently, and then looked at my team; seeing them looking at it curiously. "Hey? You guys recognize that Talonflame?" said one of the cloaked Guardian's friends. "Yeah... I do." the cloaked Guardian replied. "Vern." Noivern replied. He then extended his arm out to Talonflame; waiting to see what it will do. Talonflame recognized the motion, gently flapped its wings, jumped in the air, flew over to him, and perched on his arm. "Talon-flame." it said. "Whoa... so that's what it looks like up close." I said. "Tal-on." Talonflame replied. "Gey? Pid-gey." Hurricane replied as he flew up and perched on my shoulder; staring at Talonflame. "So? Is this Talonflame yours?" I replied. "No. He belongs to a friend of ours. He's a Flying type expert that helps us on missions." the cloaked Guardian replied.
"I see... so your friend would send him out to check for anything and find you if you go missing?" I replied. "Flame." Talonflame replied with a nod of his head. "That's amazing. Your Trainer must be very lucky to have you as a fighter and a helper." I replied. "Flame? Tal-onflame." he replied happily. After that little gesture, he looked down at Hurricane; seeing him studying his movement. "Heh. I think you got someone interested in you, Talonflame." said the cloaked Guardian. "Flame." Talonflame replied. "Yep. This is Hurricane. He's a special kind of Pidgey." I replied. "Pid-gey!" Hurricane replied happily. "Oh really? How special is he?" one of the cloaked Guardian's friends replied. "Well... he's got these blue tips on these four feathers on each wing. And he can use Brave Bird." I replied. "What!?" the cloaked Trainers replied in shock. "Flame!? Flame-Flame-Talonflame!?" Talonflame replied in shock. "Gey." Hurricane replied with a nod of his head.
"What... he can use Brave Bird at this stage in evolution..?" said the cloaked Guardian. "Mhm. I first found out he can use it when I first battled him when I left home for my journey. He gave my Pikachu a little bit of a challenge at first. But once we saw how he moved with the attack, we quickly took him down and caught him." I replied. "Pika-chu." Tetrax replied as he jumped up on my other shoulder and nodded his head in agreement to my response. "I see... I have to admit. You do have Pokémon with very interesting looks." the cloaked Guardian replied. "Thanks." I replied. I smiled warmly at him, and then all of a sudden... we heard a sound of maniacal laughter nearby. My instincts kicked in immediately and I turned to my right; hearing the laughter get louder. "Huh? Taylor? What's wrong?" said one of the cloaked Guardians friends curiously.
I stayed silent for a moment, and then I saw a group of boys show up and stare me down. Once I saw their faces, my eyes widened in shock. "No..." I said to myself. The cloaked Guardian and his allies turned and saw them too; making their eyes widen in shock through their goggles. "Well, well, well. Look at what we got here, boys. The Champion's little sister in the flesh." said the lead boy. "Kakimoto..." me and the cloaked Trainers replied. "Heh. You four over there! Stay out of this! We're here to talk to an old friend of ours." Kakimoto replied. I was stunned by his word for a moment, and then the cloaked Guardian stood in front of me; guarding me from Kakimoto and his gang. "Taylor. This is when you have to fight. Don't let his or his friend's words get to you. If they get to you... your dark side will take over you." he said. My eyes widened in shock to what he had said, and then I snapped back to reality. "Right." I said. After that, I whistled to my team, and they all surrounded us; ready to fight.
"Hey! She's actually going to fight!" said one of Kakimoto's friends. "Yeah. And she's got back-up." the cloaked Guardian replied. "Vern!" roared Noivern."Oh? So you're going to stand in our way? Fine. We'll make this quick. Go, Rhydon!" Kakimoto replied as he threw a PokéBall up in the air. It opened and Rhydon appeared; letting out a powerful roar. Onix and Tsunami roared back at Rhydon, and then we saw a Gengar, Dodrio, Machoke, Primeape, Graveler, Electabuzz, and Arcanine appear next to Rhydon. "Now it's our turn. Time to carve our way to victory! Let's give them everything we got, Flygon!" said one of the cloaked Guardian's friends as he threw a Luxury Ball up in the air; seeing Flygon appear. "Fly-gon!" said Flygon. "Let's get 'em, Absol!" said the second friend as he threw a PokéBall up in the air, watched it open, and see Absol appear. "Sol!" roared Absol.
"I'll end this battle with ease. Unleash your psychic power, Alakazam!" said the third friend as he threw a Ultra Ball up in the air, watched it open, and saw Alakazam appear. "Ala-kazam!" said Alakazam as he levitated in the air with his psychic power. "Alright, guys. Let's get 'em!" said the cloaked Guardian. "Right!" we replied. After that, we went on the charge against Kakimoto and his friends.
Pokémon Center Battlefield
Meanwhile, Zach and Zuzu stood side by side on their side of the battlefield; staring down Sylvio on the other side. He glared at them for a moment, and then took out two Luxury Balls off his belt. He then looked back onto the field and saw Wartortle and Vulpix on the field; ready to fight. "Using your main partners, huh? Well then. Let me show you mine! Come! Glaceon! Tyranitar!" he said as he threw the Luxury Balls up in the air, watched them open, and saw his two Pokémon appear. "Glac-eon!" said Glaceon. Tyranitar roared as it sparkled for a moment, and then stared down Wartortle; ready to fight. "What!? Sylvio has a Shiny Tyranitar!?" said Sora. "Mhm. And it looks like its ready for a fight." Celina replied. Pat took out his phone and activated his PokéDex. "Glaceon, the Fresh Snow Pokémon. A Ice type, and one of the evolved forms of Eevee. Glaceon can control its body temperature at will, and by freezing water particles in the air, it can create diamond dust. Tyranitar, the Armor Pokémon. A Rock and Dark type, and the evolved form of Pupitar. Its body can't be harmed by any sort of attack, so it is very eager to make challenges against enemies." said Pat's PokéDex.
"What!? That's not fair! That means Tyranitar is going to withstand most of their attacks!" Sora replied worriedly. "I wouldn't think that way, Sora. Tyranitar's part Rock type, so Zach and Wartortle have to keep it in check top protect Vulpix, while Zuzu has to keep Glaceon in check so Wartortle doesn't get frozen." Celina replied. "Oh, yeah... but... we've never seen Zuzu and Zach work together before." Sora replied. "I did. They practiced together after dinner when we were in Viridian Forest when we were cleaning up after dinner." Celina replied. "Really?" Pat replied curiously. "Mhm. Plus, I did a tag team battle with her a few months ago against Rin and Lulu when we met up at Celadon City. She was afraid of doing tag battles at first, but after we won, she got used too it." Celina replied. "Wow. You two gotta tell us more stories when we meet up with them." Pat replied. "We will." Celina replied.
After that, they turned back to Zach and Zuzu; seeing them give each other a fist bump. "You ready?" Zach asked her. "I was born ready." she replied. "Well then? Shall we get this battle underway? My Pokémon are being very impatient." Sylvio replied. "We're ready. Let's do this." Zach replied. "Battle, begin!" said Celina.
Battle! Zach & Zuzu vs. Sylvio!
"Glaceon, use Shadow Ball on the ground! Tyranitar, use Rock Slide!" said Sylvio. Tyranitar roared loudly and used the attack from above. "Glace! Glac-eon!" Glaceon replied as it used Shadow Ball hitting the ground on Zach and Zuzu's side. "Dodge it!" they said. "Vul-pix!" Vulpix replied as she moved out of the way. "War!" Wartortle replied as he did the same. "Wartortle, use a combination move of Water Gun and Rapid Spin!" said Zach. "Vulpix, jump on Wartortle's shell and use Energy Ball on Tyranitar!" Zuzu replied. "War! War-tor-tor-tor-tor-tor-tle! War-tortle!" Wartortle replied as he tucked himself in his shell, let Vulpix jump on, used Water Gun and Rapid Spin to move around the field. "Glaceon! Blizzard!" said Sylvio. "Glace! Gla-ce-on!" Glaceon replied as it used Blizzard; freezing up the ground. "Counter shield it with Fire Spin!" Zuzu replied. "Vul! Vul-pix!" replied as she used Fire Spin to surround herself and Wartortle in; stopping the Blizzard attack and melting the ice as they moved around the ground.
"What!?" said Sylvio in shock. "Alright!" Pat and Sora replied happily. Celina smiled confidently at the result, and then looked at the determined face of Tyranitar. "Come on, you two... focus on Tyranitar. Once you knock it out... it's all over." she said in her thoughts. "Tyranitar! Dark Pulse!" said Sylvio. Tyranitar roared again, whacked its tail to the ground, launched itself in the air, looked down below the Fire Spin, and used Dark Pulse on the Fire Spin. Vulpix charged up the Energy Ball in front of her mouth, fired it at the Water Gun moving them around, and it exploded into the water, fire, and dark energies; creating a yellow tornado around Vulpix and Wartortle. "What!? What is this!?" said Sylvio surprised. "Whoa!" Pat replied happily. "That is cool!" Sora replied happily.
"Zach? Ready?" said Zuzu. "Ready." Zach replied with a nod of his head. "Now! Trap them in the tornado!" they replied together. "Vul! Vul-Vul-pix!" Vulpix replied as she and Wartortle jumped out of the tornado together, and used their elemental energies to launch and trap the tornado around their foes. "War! War-tor-tle!" Wartortle replied as it copied Vulpix. "Ah! Oh no! Glaceon! Tyranitar!" Sylvio replied. "Vulpix! Use Fire Blast on Glaceon!" Zuzu replied. "Wartortle! Aqua Tail and then Water Pulse on Tyranitar!" Zach replied. Vulpix and Wartortle separated from each other, and then flew down to their opponents. "Pix! Vul-pix!" said Vulpix as she used Fire Blast on Glaceon. "Tor! War-tor-tle! War-tor-tle!" Wartortle replied as his tail was surrounded by water, hit Tyranitar multiple times, and then used Water Pulse on Tyranitar; hitting it in the back.
The energy tornado disappeared after the attacks, and everyone saw Vulpix and Wartortle jump back to their side of the field with no scratches or injuries. As the smoke and steam faded away, Glaceon and Tyranitar stood tall, looked at their opponents, and then fell to the ground. "Glaceon and Tyranitar are unable to battle! Vulpix and Wartortle are the winners! That means the victors of the battle are Zuzu and Zach!" said Celina. "Alright!" Zach and Zuzu cheered happily. They gave each other a high five, and then ran over to their Pokémon; picking them up and hugging them. "You were excellent, Vulpix!" said Zuzu. "Vul~" Vulpix replied happily. "You were awesome out there, Wartortle! You and Vulpix were in complete sync!" said Zach. "Wartortle!" Wartortle replied happily. After that, they turned over to Sylvio; seeing him heal his team.
"You both did your best. I'm proud of the both of you." he told them. "Glace." Glaceon replied. Tyranitar let out a calm sound, and then they turned to Zach and Zuzu as they walked over to them. "Congratulations, you two. You've beaten me fair and square." said Sylvio as he stood up and faced them. "Thank you, Sylvio." Zuzu replied. The two Coordinators shook hands first, and then Zach shook Sylvio's hand. "I have to admit, Zachary. You pulled off an interesting strategy that I have never seen before. I'm impressed." said Sylvio. "Thanks. I wouldn't have done it without Zuzu. She showed me how tag battles work, and we came up with that strategy together. If it wasn't for her, I would've been crushed by your Tyranitar." Zach replied. "True, but you and your Wartortle have shown me that you both want to be different than your brother and his Blastoise. You focus on strategy more than power. That is something that I respect you for." Sylvio replied.
Zach was honestly surprised of what he said. To him, this was the first time someone outside of his family and friend group that someone complimented him on doing something different than his brother. That feeling made his heart warm up a little bit. "Thank you, Sylvio. That... that was one of the nicest things you have ever said to me." he said. "You're welcome." Sylvio replied. They ended the handshake, and then saw Celina, Pat, and Sora walk upto them. "Hey, Sylvio? Where is your little friend group? Aren't they always with you?" Celina asked him. "Hm..? You know what? Yes... they're always with me... but this time they left me all on my own. Where could they be-" Sylvio replied. Before he could finish his sentence, they heard a loud explosion from far away. They turned to where Route 25 is, and saw some black smoke rise up to the sky.
"Uh oh... that doesn't look good..." said Sylvio. The groups eyes widened in shock, and then remembered that I was over there training my team. "Taylor!" they yelled worriedly. "What!? What's she doing over there!?" Sylvio replied. "Come on! We gotta move! Hopefully we catch her in time!" Celina replied. "Right!" the group replied. After that, the group and Sylvio booked it to Route 25; hoping that I am okay.
Route 25
Rhydon roared loudly, and swung its tail at me; sending me back to the trees and rocks. "Pi-ka!" cried Tetrax worriedly as Rhydon walked closer to me and I stood up. I breathed heavily, coughed out some blood, and looked at Rhydon as it walked upto me. It grabbed me by my arm and threw me back towards Kakimoto and his group. "Taylor!" said the cloaked Trainers worriedly. "Stop it, Kakimoto! Leave her alone!" the cloaked Guardian yelled as I slowly looked up at him. "Shut your trap, kid! You don't know nothing! Strike him down, Machoke!" Kakimoto's friend replied. "Choke! Ma-choke!" Machoke replied as it punched the cloaked Guardian in the gut, and sent him to his knees. "No!" I yelled. "Oh! Now you wanna speak! Looks like all that power you took from our team's attacks didn't kill you after all?" Kakimoto replied.
As he said this, the group and Sylvio arrived and saw what was happening. "Tay!" the group yelled in fear. "Kakimoto! Stop this right now! This isn't the way we want this!" Sylvio yelled as he and the group ran over to them. "Can it, Sylvio! This is how we always wanted it to go. After all these years of intimidating us at school... she's finally getting what she deserves." Kakimoto replied; shocking all of the group, Sylvio, and the cloaked Trainers. "Yeah! And if you are going to stand in our way, we'll beat you down too!" one of Kakimoto's friends replied. This infuriated the group for a moment, and then they formed a protective circle around me. They then turned to me, and saw me slowly try to stand back up. "It ends here, Kakimoto. Stop this now before things get even worse!" said Sylvio.
"Sorry, boss. But we're ending this little experiment here! Electabuzz, use Thunder on them! Full power!" one of Kakimoto's friends replied. "El-ect-abuzz!" Electabuzz replied as it used Thunder on my group at full power; shocking and injuring them. They scream in absolute pain from the shock, and then collapsed to the ground. "Zach!" said the cloaked Guardian. He and his friends stood up, went over to my group, and picked them up; getting them to the attack had happened and they fell... something in my mind completely snapped. My body began to feel a fire burn deep inside itself. A fire that burned with pure anger and rage. I lowered my head, closed my eyes, felt my power increase like wildfire, growled like a beast, and opened my eyes as they glew crimson red; ready to strike like a violent animal. My eyes slightly looked up at Kakimoto, and saw a red R badge on his shirt; sending my mind into a darker spiral. "That Badge... testing my endurance... durability... and wanting to see my power... and hurting the ones I care for most... he's one of them..." I said to myself. I clutched my hands in anger, and growled louder; making him and his group look back at me.
"Zach? You okay?" the cloaked Guardian asked as he healed the group's wounds with his power. "...Yeah... I'm okay. I'm just worried about her..." Zach replied as they turned to me. As they looked at me, they saw a crimson red aura surrounding me. The cloaked Guardian's eyes widened in fear, and he then quickly got Zach back up. "No... no, no, no, no, no!" he said in fear. "What!? What is it!? What's going on with her!?" Zach replied as the group stood up with the cloaked Guardian's allies and looked at me; seeing what was going on. The cloaked Guardian quickly made a shield for him, his group, my group, Sylvio, and our Pokémon. "Get down!" he yelled. As everyone got down to the ground, I let out the most violent scream I had ever unleashed in my life, and let my power fully come out and consume me and my rage; pushing everyone who wasn't in the shield back. A moment later, everyone stood up, saw me standing tall, heard me growl, and lift my head up; seeing my crimson red eyes staring at Kakimoto and his group.
"What the!? What the hell is this!?" said one of Kakimoto's friends worriedly. "Whatever this is... it made me soil myself..." another one of Kakimoto's friend replied. I growled loudly at my foes, and then made energy claws surrounding my hands. The Pokémon in Kakimoto's group looked at me in shock and surprise, and then turned to their Trainers; wondering what do they do now. "Well don't just stand there! Attack!" Kakimoto told them. They jumped in fear from his response, and then went to attack me. As they ran towards me, I dashed to them with Extreme Speed and dodged their attacks. I used Shadow Claw on Gengar, and Dragon Claw on Arcanine; sending them back to their Trainers by the strength of my attacks. Rhydon and Graveler tried to punch me down and hold me back, but my strength and power were no match for them. I used Hydro Cannon on Graveler, and then Close Combat and Power Whip on Rhydon.
The group stared at me in complete shock, and then looked at Kakimoto and his group; seeing them shake in fear. "What the hell... what just happened to her..?" said Sylvio in a scared tone. "She completely snapped. After getting herself hurt and seeing us get hurt, something in her brain made her snap and lose control of herself and her powers." the cloaked Guardian replied. "Wait... was this thing she talked to us about in Viridian Forest?" Pat replied. My group gasped in shock to what Pat had said as they turned to him, and then turned back to me as I used various attacks on the foe's team and watched them faint. After that, I charged at Kakimoto and attacked him and his group. "Yeah... I think this is it... this was the thing that she talked to us about! This is the anger that she's been holding deep inside of her!" said Zuzu. "But how do we snap her out of it? If we don't do something, she might actually kill someone!" Celina replied.
"...Stay here. I'll handle this." the cloaked Guardian replied. "What!? Are you nuts!?" Zach replied in shock to him. "No... I'm not crazy. I know how to stop this." the cloaked Guardian replied as he began to leave the shield. "But you will get killed if you can't stop her!" Zach replied. He grabbed his arm and stopped him from leaving; shocking him and everyone around them. "Zach? What are you doing? Let me go! I told you I can handle her!" said the cloaked Guardian. "We need to distract her. If you and your team attack her, this situation will be going nowhere. If we all get her distracted and tire her out... then you and your team can use your skills to stop her and turn her back to normal." Zach replied. "Are you sure that will work? What if she attacks you?" the cloaked Guardian replied. Zach sighed and then patted his hand on the cloaked Guardian's shoulder. "If she does, then she does. But if she can hear our voices and let her know that we're trying to help her... then she might come back to her senses. The only way we can know it will work is if we work together. So, please. Let us help you." he said.
The cloaked Guardian was surprised of what Zach said and his idea to calm me down. He thought about it for a moment, and then nodded his head yes to his response. "Alright. You and your friends can help us. Just make sure to stay at a safe distance from her. If she does hear your voice and stops her attack, don't try to get close to her. She might be completely blinded by rage, and her instincts will make her attack you." he said. "Got it. You guys understand what he said?" Zach replied as he nodded his head and turned to my group. "Yeah." Pat replied. "Understood." Sora and Celina replied. "Got it." Zuzu replied. The cloaked Guardian nodded his head, turned to my team and Noivern, and used his powers to connect with and control them. Once everyone saw the Pokémon's eyes glow golden yellow, they knew now that my team was under his control. He dropped the shield and looked at me as I began my hunt after Kakimoto and his group as they began to run away.
"Sylvio. Make sure you catch up to your group and try to lead them out of here while we distract her. And do not try to attack her at all costs." said Zuzu. "Got it. And you all stay safe. I don't want to see you guys get hurt next." Sylvio replied. "Got it. We'll be careful." she replied. After that, Sylvio ran off and began his pursuit of his friends. "Alright. Let's go." said the cloaked Guardian. "Right." everyone replied. After that, they began their pursuit after me. As they ran, Tetrax jumped up on the Guardian's shoulder as he jumped onto Noivern's back, and took flight in the sky; observing the area.
Middle of Route 25
The sounds of screams echoed through the area, along with the sounds of roars, slashes of trees and bushes, and blasts of energy. "Just keep running, boys! Don't look back!" said Kakimoto as his group screamed and cried in fear while running away from me. As they ran, I was catching upto them. I had attacked them from the underground, up in the air, and from the water; catching them at every angle. "Ah! It's not working! She just won't stop!" cried one of Kakimoto's friends. "Dude! We really pissed her off this time!" another one of Kakimoto's friends replied. "Yeah, no shit! Did I really want this to happen!? No! This is going to scar us for the rest of our lives!" Kakimoto replied. "Hey! Kaki! Over here!" yelled a voice. "Huh!? Who was that?" said one of Kakimoto's friends. "That's Sylvio! Come on! Keep listening to him, and we'll find him! Keep moving!" Kakimoto replied.
They ran through the area for a few more minutes, and then saw Sylvio near Nugget Bridge. "Sylvio!" they cried. "Come on! Keep running! Don't look back! Don't stop running! Just keep going!" Sylvio yelled. They reunited with him and then hugged him; crying a lot of tears as they did this. "Come on, you idiots! Let me go!" said Sylvio. After he said that, my roar echoed in the sky; scaring them. I dashed towards them with Extreme Speed, and collided into them; knocking them down. They quickly stood up, looked at me, and saw me charge up an Aura Sphere. "Taylor! Stop this right now! This isn't like you! I never wanted them to do this! Just please! Stop!" said Sylvio. "Get out of my way, Sylvio. This hunt is between me... and them." I replied in a dark tone. I blinked my eyes, looked at them again, and then saw something on Sylvio's shirt that I recognized. "So you're wearing one too." I said.
"Huh!? Taylor? What are you talking about?" Sylvio replied curiously. "That red R badge on your shirt... that's a Team Rocket Badge. Where did you get them? Who gave them to you?" I replied sternly. They tried to figure out what to say about my question, but then one member of the group spilled the beans to me. "We got them from members of Team Rocket. They asked us to go into Cerulean Cave and find a very powerful Pokémon inside the cave and try to catch it. We failed, left the cave, and gave them all the recordings that we had with the Pokémon for research and to show their leader!" the one friend in Kakimoto's group said. "You idiot!" the group yelled. "What!? I'd rather tell her now that have her kill us!?" the friend replied. My eyes widened in shock to what he had said for a moment, and then I began to remember what Mewtwo had told me yesterday about Team Rocket and how they are looking for it too. After that, I growled loudly and threw the Aura Sphere at them; scaring them instantly.
"You moron! Look at what you just did!" yelled Kakimoto. "I'm sorry! I just wanna live!" the friend cried. "So it was Team Rocket all along. They hired you all to spy on us and find our weaknesses in order to kidnap and experiment on us and become his weapons of destruction. That bastard... too much of a coward for him to show up and face me on his own." I replied. "What..." said Kakimoto. "Taylor..?" Sylvio replied worriedly. "Don't worry about it. It was never none of your business to hear about it. Tell you what... I'll let you all live and you will never have to deal with me ever again... if you all tell me where the leader of Team Rocket is. That sound like a deal?" I replied.
"What!? Taylor! We don't know where this leader is! We swear to God. We don't know where he is!" Sylvio replied. "...So you don't know where he is?" I replied. "Yes! We don't know where he is! We don't even know who he is! All we were told to do by those guys two days ago was to find that mysterious Pokémon in the cave and record footage of how much it has grown ever since they last saw it! That's all! They only gave us these Badges to thank us for helping them out in that little mission!" Sylvio replied. I stared at them silently for a moment, lowered my arms, and then slowly turned away. "...Thank you for the information. Your usefulness has ended." I said. They breathed sighs of relief, and then felt a surge of power on the ground. "But there is something that you should know about me when I am like this..." I replied. "And what would that be?" Kakimoto replied.
"It's that the hunt doesn't end until you draw your last breath." I replied; shocking and scaring them. I quickly turned around and used Shock Wave on the ground; aiming at them. They screamed in fear, and then a rumble underground threw off the attack. "What!?" I said surprised. A few seconds later, my Onix came up from underground and roared at me; telling me to stop what I was doing. "Onix!? What are you doing!? Get out of the way! I don't want you to get involved in this!" I said. Onix roared again, and then showed me his glowing golden yellow eyes. I was intimidated by this for a moment, and then got into a battle stance. "If you're not going to get out of my way... then you leave me no choice." I replied. I charged up an Aura Sphere, and was ready to attack Onix, but I was stopped by a huge blast of water; pushing me away from Onix, Sylvio, and his group. Sylvio turned to the water and saw Tsunami appear, roar, and then saw Zach on top of his head.
He jumped down with his whole team, turned around, and saw the cloaked Guardian arrive with Noivern, Tetrax, Dragonfire, and Aurasoul. They then turned to Sylvio and his group; seeing them looking at them. "...Go. All of you." they said. "Right. Come on. Let's move." Sylvio replied. After that, he and his group ran away from the scene. The two Trainers then turned back to where Tsunami sent me, and then they saw a red Thunder attack come from the sky. Onix roared loudly, and took the hit of the attack for them and Tsunami; using his type advantage to protect them. "Good job, Onix." said Zach. Onix nodded his head to him, and then they saw me walk out of the shadows; seeing my eyes glow and hearing me growl like an animal. "The hunt is over, Taylor. We're ending this here right now." said the cloaked Guardian.
"No! The hunt is not over! You two let them get away!" I replied. "Tay! It ends here. Now. Whether you like it or not. I know the real you is deep down in there in your head somewhere. You gotta fight the demons in your head to break free! I know the real you would never want to hurt people!" Zach replied. "He's right. We know the real you deep inside the beast you are right now. This is your power controlling your anger! You gotta fight it!" the cloaked Guardian replied. I growled again, got into a battle stance, charged a beam in my hands, and then was hit by a Fire Blast. Zach tried to run over to me, but the cloaked Guardian stopped him. "Don't. It's going to take a lot more attacks to strike her down. If you approach her now, it will provoke her to attack." he told him. Zach blinked his eyes, and then nodded his head in understanding.
I looked around wondering who attacked me, and then I saw a pair of claws appear in front of me; slashing me in the face. I screamed in pain, covered the left side of my face, and felt blood dripping form that side. "Tay!" Zach and the cloaked Guardian yelled. The rest of our groups appeared, saw me covering the left side of my face, slowly lift my head up, took my hand off the left side of my face, and revealed a newly formed scar on my face. The girls gasped in shock and fear to see the scar on my face, and turned away in sorrow. I snarled angrily at everyone around me, made energy claws around my hands, let out a dark and violent scream, and then charged at the group and all the Pokémon. "Fall back!" yelled the cloaked Guardian. They did as he said, and then he jumped in front of me and blocked my attack.
Everyone was shocked that he did this, then saw me charge at him; going at him in full hunting mode. We shared a good amount of punches, kicks, slashes, and many various Pokémon attacks for a couple minutes. He used his power to push me away from him, and then jump away from me. He then used his power to make Noivern and all my Pokémon use various moves on me to stop my attacks, and keep me still. After that, I roared and made a powerful shock wave of my own energy on the ground; pushing everyone away. "Tay! Listen to us! You need to fight back against this form of yourself! You can't let it control you!" he yelled. "Stop! You have no idea what I went through!" I replied. "You're right... I don't. But you told me and your friends what you went through, right? We understand where you are coming from. We never thought and wanted you to act like this. But look at your friends right now! Their wounds are healed. They're alive and safe now, okay? They're worried about you. We're worried about you. I'm worried about you. Once this is all over, we'll find Kakimoto and make him pay for what he and his friends just did to you." he replied.
"He's right, Tay. About everything he just said. You need to dig deep down yourself and break free from this power controlling you!" Zuzu replied. "Vul!" Vulpix replied. My eyes lightly widen in shock to what she said as I stared at her. I took her words to heart, and then I suddenly began to feel my head begin to hurt, I put my hands on my head, let out a couple screams, took my hands off my head, and then charged up a Hyper Beam in one of my hands; aiming at everyone in our groups. "Tay!" the girls yelled. "Taylor, no!" most of the boys yelled. "Tay!" Zach and the cloaked Guardian yelled. "...I'm sorry. I didn't want to do this. But this is the end of the line." I replied. I fully charged up the Hyper Beam, aimed it at them, and then fired it; watching everyone brace themselves for impact. The cloaked Guardian quickly took out a Dusk Ball and threw it in the air; watching it open. "Aegislash! Protect us all with King's Shield!" he said. "Slash! Aegi-slash!" Aegislash replied as it appeared and used the move to protect him and the group.
Everyone breathed sighs of relief, and then saw me still standing there looking at them. "Wait... guys! Look! Her eyes!" said Sora. "Huh? She's... she's crying..." Pat replied. "But... why?" Sora replied. "Our voices broke through to her! She heard us!" Zuzu replied. "Really?" Sora replied. "Mhm. I saw it in her eyes as she charged up the attack. She was fighting herself on the inside! She never wanted to attack us, but her instincts made her do it." Zuzu replied. "She's right. I saw it too. Our voices came through to her when she saw us all together. She hesitated during the attack." the cloaked Guardian replied. "And that's a good thing?" Pat replied. "Yes. It's a good thing. And now it makes it easier to do this. Aegislash, grab her!" the cloaked Guardian replied. "Slash! Ae-gi-slash!" Aegislash replied at it changed its stance, charged towards me, and wrapped me up in its cloth-like arms; holding me back. "Wh-what!? Hey! Let me go! Let! Me! Go!" I yelled in shock.
"I'm sorry, Tay. I didn't want to do this... but you left me no choice when you attacked us like this. Noivern, use Boomburst!" the cloaked Guardian replied. "Vern! Noi-vern!" Noivern replied as it flew up in the air, looked down below at me, and then used the attack on me. I let out the most painful scream that I had ever released in my life, and then passed out from all the stress and exhaustion from my rampage. The attack ended, and Aegislash gently put me down on the ground. "Aegi-slash." it said in a sad tone as it looked down at me. After that, everyone ran over to me and surrounded me; seeing me now fully knocked out. The cloaked Guardian then used his power to heal my wounds, and then checked my Aura; seeing it now back to normal. "...It's over. The rage is now gone." he said.
Everyone breathed sighs of relief again, and then they watched him pick me up in his arms. "So what do we do now?" Pat asked. "We take her back to the hotel. She can rest there for now, and then we'll see if she fully remembered what she just went through." Zach replied. "But what if she becomes afraid of us?" Pat replied. "She won't. She'll most likely be afraid of herself. As long as you tell her that you will help and support her, she'll know that it will be alright." the cloaked Guardian replied. After that, we went back to the hotel silently. As they walked, the cloaked Guardian used his power to go through my memories; seeing how I got my powers, my training days with them at home and Celestic Town, the Team Rocket incident, encountering Mewtwo, saving the group from the Fearow, encountering, battling with, and catching Necrozma, battle with Brock, saving Reed and Raticate, battle with Julia, meeting Luna, battle with Gyarados, and the encounter with Caspian. "So... this is your story so far?" he said to himself.
Cerulean City Hotel
"Huh? Hey, guys! She's waking up!" said a voice. I slowly opened my eyes, blinked them a couple times, looked around, and saw my group looking down at me. "...Zuzu? Celina? Sora? Pat? Zach? Is that really you?" I said. "Yeah, bud... it's us." Pat replied as Celina hugged him with tears in their eyes. I looked at them all silently, looked down at the Mark on my hand, and then felt my eyes swell up in tears. "Tay... I know you want to apologize to us... but... we want you to know that the incident that happened today wasn't your fault. It never was." said Zuzu as she held my hands. "But... I... I almost killed you guys... and Sylvio and his group... I actually almost killed somebody..." I replied as I began to cry. "We know. We were there. We saw it all. But you didn't kill anybody. You didn't snap because of your injuries. You snapped because we got hurt... and from seeing the Red R badge on their shirts. And it made your mind think back your kidnapping and experimentation." Zach replied.
I felt some tears fall on my face, and then nodded my head yes to his response. "Your new friend told us everything. That state that you were in. Its power was protecting you from the trauma that you had endured. All it took for you to become that beast were some trigger words, and flashbacks of your past in order to become that beast. So you responded to it by letting it awaken itself in you, and let you turn so violent and vicious in battle. But we could tell in your eyes that you only did this to protect us and yourself from anyone who would want to hurt us. Because you didn't want us to go through the same thing you went through." he said. "He... told you?" I replied. The group nodded their heads yes to my response. "They left here a while ago. They talked to all your Pokémon about what happened with you. They all know the situation. You can apologize to them later when you feel like getting up again." Zuzu replied. I nodded my head in agreement to her response, and then watched her wipe my tears away with a handkerchief.
"Still... I want to apologize to all of you. I'm truly sorry that you had to see that side come out of me. I've been afraid of this side of me ever since that day... and I promised myself that I would never turn into that beast ever again... but today proved to me that I broke my own promise... and I got you all in harms way because of my actions. I should've been stronger than this... but I let myself fall through the cracks and let myself turn into a beast that you had never seen before." I said as I cried. "Tay..." Pat replied in a sad tone. Zach took my right hand and held it tight; giving it a coupler pats. "Tay... we accept your apology. And you need to know this from all of us. You are much stronger than you realize. Just talking about your experience and traumas with us... you are so much stronger talking about it than you have ever known. Most people who have really deep trauma never really talk about their pain like you did." he said.
"Yeah. He's right. You are so much stronger than you realize. You saw that these were feelings that are truly validated and were never meant to keep bottled up. And when you told us a little bit of that dark side of you when we were in Viridian Forest, we had a feeling that we would see this side of you eventually sometime later down the road. We never expected to see it today. But after what happened with Kakimoto, we realized that this side is something that we don't want to mess with." Celina replied. "Yeah... and I when was in that state... I could hear you guys loud and clear. Your voices made me break the chains in myself and stop myself from harming all of you guys and the Guardian and his friends." I replied. "So you did hear us? Then why did you fire the attack at us?" Sora replied. "Because my instincts made me do it. But thanks to that Aegislash, it saved you all from the impact of the blast. After it ended, I thought that I lost you guys, but once I saw you all still standing and were safe, it made me finally control that side for a short time." I replied.
"And then you grabbed by Aegislash and were hit by Noivern's Boomburst." Pat replied. I nodded my head yes to his response. "By the way... how didn't your ears bleed out from that? That could've made you go deaf." Celina asked. "Her power must've protected her ears and healed them from any damage." Zuzu replied. We nodded our heads in agreement to her response, and then I let out a quiet yawn. "Someone's tired?" said Sora. "Mhm." I replied tiredly. "Yeah. You should get some more rest before your Gym battle tomorrow." Celina replied. "Yeah." I replied. We smiled warmly at each other, and then relaxed and slept for the night.
Outside the Warehouse- Nighttime
Shay and Kite walked around inside, checking on their teammates, gathering information about Team Rocket, and then walked outside. They climbed up on the rooftop, and saw the Sakaki brothers together. They walked over silently to them, and saw and heard Yuto crying. "Man... I've never seen him this hurt." said Yugo in a sad tone. "Yeah. It's not usual to see him like this." Yuri replied. "What happened?" Shay replied. They turned around, and saw Shay and Kite looking down at them. "Yuto..? What happened?" Shay asked him as he and Kite sat down. "...Taylor snapped... and turned into her Awakened form..." Yuto replied as he wiped his tears. "What!?" Shay and Kite replied. "Yeah. This happened when we were dealing with Kakimoto on Route 25. They beat us down and nearly killed our friends. She saw this as she nearly lost conscious. But once she this on their shirts... it made her snap and turned her to her Awakened form." Yuya replied as he gave them the Team Rocket Badge.
"A Team Rocket Badge..? So those bullies you've dealt with since you were little did a job for them, didn't they?" Shay replied. The four brothers nodded their heads yes to his question, and then Yuto stood up and walked away. "She means a lot to him, doesn't she?" Kite asked. "Mhm. Tay means the whole world to him. She's his best friend. And when he saw her go berserk like that... it scared him." Yugo replied. "So how did he get her back to normal?" Shay replied. "He made his Aegislash hold her down, and Noivern use Boomburst on her to stop her from attacking." Yuri replied. "Ah." Shay replied. They looked on as Yuto walked away. He jumped off from the rooftop, landed on a tree branch, jumped through the trees, made it to the tree near me and my group's hotel room, and sat down silently; watching us sleep for the night.
As he looked out to our window, his Noivern and Aegislash came out of their Dusk Balls, and consoled their Trainer; knowing how upset he is. "...Thank you, guys. That means a lot to me." he told them. Noivern wiped his tears away, and then took out another Dusk Ball from his cloak. He gently took the Dusk Ball from Noivern, threw it up in the air, and watched his third Pokémon appear. "Umbreon." it said. He petted Umbreon's head, and watched its eyes as it noticed he was upset. Umbreon consoled its Trainer for a moment, and then looked out to the hotel room with him. "Bre?" it said curiously. "Yeah. Those are the rest of my friends in there. And one of them has the same Mark as me." he replied. "Umbreon!" it replied in awe. "Mhm. Do you want to meet her?" he replied. "Bre? Bre! Umbreon!" it replied happily.
"Okay, okay, okay, okay. We'll go see her. But we got to be really quiet. She's sound asleep. That means you can't shine your light either. Got it?" he replied after getting nuzzled and licked by Umbreon. "Um-bre-on!" it replied with a smile and nod of its head. "Great. Noivern. Aegislash. You two stay on watch for us. If you see my brothers, Shay, or Kite come by, give me the signal and we'll come outside." he replied. "Noivern." Noivern replied. "Aegis." Aegislash replied. After that, he and Umbreon stood up from the branch, quietly jumped onto the patio, looked inside for a moment, looked around; seeing the coast was clear, and then snook inside.
Cerulean City Hotel
They snook inside very quietly, closed the patio door, and then saw me sound asleep on the couch with some of my Pokémon. "Bre..." said Umbreon in a soft tone. They quietly walked over to me, stood in silence for a moment, and then Yuto knelt down to my side. Umbreon sat on the floor, put its front paws on the edge of the couch, and quietly stood up; getting a closer look at me. "Um-bre?" it said curiously. "Yep. That's her." Yuto replied with a soft smile. Umbreon sniffed the air quietly, took in my scent, and then wagged its tail happily. It then looked at Yuto as he gently picked up my right hand, held it, and showed it to Umbreon. "See that Mark right here on her hand?" he asked it. "Bre." Umbreon replied with a nod of its head. "It looks just like mine, doesn't it?" he replied. "Um-bre." Umbreon replied.
It sniffed my hand for a moment, and then turned to its Trainer; seeing his eyes focused on me. "She seems to be doing better than she was before sunset. I guess her Awakened form drained her out a lot." he said. "Umbreon." Umbreon replied. Yuto nodded his head in agreement, and then saw the Guardian Ball beside my Phone. "What the? What is this?" he said as he picked it up and held it in his right hand. "Bre..?" Umbreon replied curiously. They studied it for a moment, and then Yuto gently took my Phone and snooped through my PokéDex; seeing who I caught with the Guardian Ball. "Now... let's see who was caught in this one." he said to himself. He searched through my PokéDex for a moment, and then found Necrozma on it for the first time. His eyes lightly widened in shock to this, and he clicked on Necrozma's picture, and read its entry for the first time.
"Necrozma, huh? Wait a minute... that item displayed in the Pewter City Museum was actually a Pokémon..? And from what I've seen through her memories... it used to work alongside the Guardians..." he said. "Bre? Um-bre-on?" Umbreon replied curiously. "Holy shit... she now has a Legendary Pokémon to use whenever she needs to... and its helping her find Guardian locations. Tay... how did you get this lucky..?" he replied. After he said that, our Marks began to lightly glow. Our powers and Auras connected with each other for a moment, and then stopped for the night. He breathed a sigh of relief; knowing now that I am okay, and then leaned forward to me; seeing the scar on the left side of my face. "Damn... whoever scratched her over her left eye and gave her this scar... they got her good." he said to himself.
He stared at me silently, and then saw something in the corner of his eye. He looked up and saw his brothers, Shay, and Kite outside; waiting for him. He blinked his eyes, looked back down at me, and kissed my forehead. "Goodnight, Tay. I'll see you again soon. I promise. And good luck on your Gym battle. I'll be rooting for you all the way." he whispered in my ear. He kissed my cheek, smiled warmly at me, let go of my hand, stood up, and then left the room with Umbreon. He closed the door softly, looked out to the night sky, and then turned to his brothers and their friends. He jumped back onto the branch and showed a light smile to them. "Is she okay?" Shay asked him. "Yeah. She's okay. She's better than what she looked like a few hours ago." he replied. "Bre!" Umbreon replied happily.
He smiled at Umbreon, and then turned to his brothers; seeing smirks on them. His eyes lightly widened in shock to their reaction, and he felt his face begin to blush. "Getting smitten with her, Yuto?" Yuri asked him. "No." he replied. "Oh come on, dude! We saw you kissing her!" Yugo replied as he put his arm around Yuto's shoulder. "What!? Hey! I only kissed her on the forehead and on the cheek! Those don't count!" he replied. "That's true." Kite replied. "What!?" Yuya, Yuri, and Yugo replied in shock. "Kite's right. Your first kiss only counts when its on the lips. Forehead and cheek kisses are mostly friendly kisses." Shay replied. "Same with hands. Kissing someone's hand is either friendly or formally." Kite replied. "Huh? How do you two know about this stuff?" Yuya replied. "Because we had our first kisses." Shay replied.
"What!?" the Sakaki brothers reacted surprised. Shay and Kite nodded their heads yes to their response. "Do you remember who was your first kiss?" Yugo asked them. "Heh. We'll tell you when you're a little bit older." Kite replied. "Yep." Shay replied. After that, they all retreated to their base for the night, and began their preparations for the next day.
Thank you so much for reading Chapter 10 of the story! Wow... what a roller-coaster of a Chapter. First the battle with Zach and Zuzu against Sylvio, then Taylor and the Sakaki Bros. dealing with their childhood bullies, then Taylor unleashing her Awakened form, and then Yuto's small reunion with her. Man... what a day that these two groups have gone through. Hopefully we might not have to deal with a situation like this again... maybe...
And, we also find out what Rin and Lulu have been upto! They are also a part of the Resistance alongside the Sakaki Bros., Shay, and Kite. They're helping out the team with investigating Celadon City and its surrounding area; knowing this city used to be Team Rocket's secret lab/base for the middle of the mainline games. I wonder what they will find there with other members of the Resistance? You'll have to see when we reunite with them sometime soon ;)
