So here is the where the Rogue's Offically (Though also somewhat reluctantly) join forces with the Mutants, Jonathan does kind of realize this is the sign his gut feelings were right hence why he's the most sincere out of all the rogues.
"Yes, Asshole," Vanessa said already feeling a bit testy "I talk."
"They never mentioned anything about experiments with spiders..." Edward said to Jonathan as they slowly backed away.
Now people talking about her when she was right in front of them, was one of Vanessa's biggest pet peeves, in her angrer she began to drool her green venomous salvia, after everything that had happened she figured she might as well go down in a big way, either she'll kill these two rogues or they'll kill her or they'll both get caught and dealt with by Proteus but before she did anything else she figured she might as well get her frustrations out by vomiting them all other these two crooks so they would know exactly who she was and why she was doing what she was doing.
"You think I'm some experimental animal..." She fumed as she inced towards the two rogues "...You probably won't believe me but I'll tell you anyway before it all ends, I was a human girl a little over 24 hours ago, it was only because I happened to step on a spider at the same time that same of that blue goo was oozing out of the ground that I turned into a hideous freak of nature!"
Jonathan's eyes widened...The Goop was just oozing out of the ground at same random location where people lived? If what this Spider was saying was true then this Goop was probably more dangerous than they had ever imagined, it not only had the power to anthropomorphize animals into intelligent bipedial versions of themselves, it apparently also had the ability to zoomorphize humans into animalistic freaks of nature, seemingly in this case if they were touching an animal at the same time they were touching the Goop, but what if they had touched an animal only a few minutes prior to touching the Goop? And what would happen if a human hadn't touched any animals and touched the Goop?
All the while Vanessa was continuing her rant, "Yeah seems the reason I became a Spider was because my apartment doesn't allow pets, and so now I'm a creature that even other mutants fear! Shunned by my fellow freaks!" She stood back on her hind most legs so four of her limbs were waving in the air.
"So I figured, if I'm gonna go down I might as well go down in the big way and take two Supervillains down with me..."
At that moment Jonathan felt a feeling that someone might discover them with all this yelling the Spider was doing, but also if her story was true he was beginning to feel that this was the sign that he was looking for, if humans could be transformed into animals by the Goop than they would be just at much risk of being captured by Proteus as animal born Mutants and he seriously doubted the likes of Noble or Pike would believe any Mutant claiming to be a former human probably would think the mutant was an insane animal or simply saying whatever it thought would get it freed, and if some random girl could be effected because the Goop can just randomly bubble up from the ground, than so could himself and any other rogue! So in the pretense of self-preservation he had found the reason to turn against his employers.
"You know something..." Jonathan said as he tried his best to give a friendly smile even though he was trembling terribly "You're right, you're absolutely right!"
"Huh?" Vanessa cocked her head she had not expected this
"What are you doing Jonathan?!" Edward hissed
"Saving both of our lives!" Jonathan snapped back "But I don't mean I'm buttering you up Young Lady in an attempt to pull a fast one on you...To tell the truth ever since I came here I've had my misgivings about this place...I didn't know why at first, I never cared about my fellow man before, why should I care for a bunch of animals now? But seeing as humans can be transformed into animals by the Goop..."
"You don't really believe that..." Edward began to say but Jonathan quickly roared
"YOU WILL BE SILENT OR I WILL GIVE YOU A ONE WAY TRIP TO YOUR DARKEST NIGHTMARES!"
Turning back to Vanessa he said "Please, believe me when I say I believe your story...After all in Gotham we have had our cases of humans transforming into animalistic beings there was Kirk Langstrom...And some other things I dare not mention..." He knew better than to bring up what Emile Dorian had done to Selina Kyle that one time "I dare say this does seem to be the first time a human was transformed into an invertebrate which is admittatly more strange and frightening than all the rest...But where are my manners...What is your name?"
"Vanessa." Vanessa realized it might not be a good idea to give her last name as she still wasn't sure if the Rogue was being sincere as he claimed or he was buttering her up to pull a fast one on her.
"Vanessa..." Jonathan said quietly he couldn't help but feel the irony as Vanessa means 'Butterfly' and this poor girl turned into the opposite kind of arthopod, the terrifying Black Widow Spider.
"Please Vanessa," Jonathan said quietly "Ever since I came here I've had this feeling I couldn't shake that something about this reserch was a line even I couldn't cross, and you seem to be the sign I was looking for, if humans can be transformed into animals by the Goop than we're all in great danger!"
So hopefully soon I'll be able to get to the scene that the original version of this story was based around. Yup getting to the Speedo Scene!
