Courtney was beyond pissed at the fact what that neanderthal said to her. Her mood instantly brightened when she saw her boyfriend Justin. They had been dating for a year and a half.

She walked up to him and sat on his lap. He gently pushed her on the bench next to him "babe you can't sit on me you'll make my skin uneven for my photo shoot later." He said barely glancing at her and looking in the mirror.

Courtney sighed, rolling her eyes bored. "So I was thinking after your shoot, maybe we can go to My house. Maybe study or watch a movie or something. "

"No way babe I have to get a certain amount of sleep to keep my face fresh with no bags. Besides studying makes my eyes squint which brings wrinkles." He said and started smiling in the mirror.

Courtney sighed "okay well do you have any new headshots?"

Justin finally looked at her and shot her a dazzling smile "of course I do" he said getting out his new headshots. He showed him smiling in one with just his head. Then the next one had him glistening wet with his torso, shirtless him smiling.

"Courtney!" Courtney turned away from Justin's "interesting" headshots and looked at Heather.

Heather sauntered up to Courtney with her usual resting bitch face on.

"I need to talk to you." She said, giving her the look.

Courtney nodded "I'll be back okay." She said slightly relieved.

Justin sighed "hurry so I can show you my the ab ones" he said then turned back to his mirror.

Courtney got up and left with Heather. When Heather was sure Justin was out of hearing range she began telling Courtney.

"So I was thinking we can go to Geoff's party" Heather said simply.

Courtney looked confused, "why did you bring me all the way over here just to ask me that?"

"Cause I don't need to hear Justin telling you shouldn't go because of what drinks and loud music do to the way you look and crap. He's so annoying" she said, sending a disgusted look towards Justin's direction. Courtney rolled her eyes. "Guess what?" Heather said.

"What?" Courtney said getting her phone and going on Instagram.

Heather snatches her phone earning a "hey" from Courtney.

Heather ignored it and typed something in her phone. And showed it to her.

A picture of Gwen and Trent.

Kissing.

"Duncan and Gwen broke up this morning. Right after Trent posted this picture. right before 1st period." Heather said

"You know what that means? That means all the girls are gonna..."

Courtney zoned out. She couldn't believe that they broke up. Then the bubbling guilt came crashing down on her. She literally just snapped at Duncan. His phone was on Instagram. He probably saw the picture and was talking about Gwen. But when he said it he even said he wasn't talking to her but she kept pushing at him.

She thought that Duncan seemed off. But she brushed it off. It wasn't her problem to deal with anyways. Then she said that thing about him and Gwen and they weren't even together. She felt horrible.

"Hello? Are you listening to me?!" Heather said, rolling her eyes.

"Sorry to say that again." Courtney said snapping out her thoughts.

"I said we should go to The mall and pick out an outfit for the party!" Heather exclaimed

"Ugh fine" Courtney said sighing.

The bell rang after Courtney said that and the girls both walked back to Justin and walked to class.

The rest of the day Courtney was keeping an eye out for Duncan, but around 5 periods she gave up. He obviously ditched school. Which made her feel worse.

She needed to apologize and that's what she was going to do. When school ended went to her car not waiting up for Justin, knowing he would just brush her up and say

"I need to get in my modeling mode."

She got on the ride then swore to herself. She didn't know where Duncan lived. She got out of the car and called Bridgette.

"Hello." She said breathing heavily.

"Um hey..." Courtney said, confused as to why she was breathing so heavily. But she continued anyways

"I was wondering if you know where Geoff is. I need to talk to him." Courtney said leaning against her car.

The sound of lips parting again and shuffling and whispers then Geoff got on the phone "Hey mocha!" He said breathing heavily.

Courtney almost gagged. She didn't even want to think about what they could have been doing at who knows where. School just ended literally 5 minutes ago.

"Can you tell me where Duncan lives? We're partners in miss.Cratz class for the project." She said, making an excuse.

Technically I'm not lying ...

ugh who am I kidding I feel like fucking Pinocchio

"Of course mocha I'll text you it so you'll remember okay?" He said then the sound of lips smacking each other filled Courtney's ears.

Courtney sneered in disgust "oka-" before she finished the phone hung up. Courtney sighed and got in her car.

When her phone dinged.

UNKNOWN NUMBER: Hey Mocha it's Geoff

UNKNOWN NUMBER: He lives...

Courtney read the address and got in her car put on her seat belt and drove off.

———————————————————————————

Courtney was 1 stop light away from his house. She blasted Taylor Swift Blank space.

"I can make the bad guys good for a weekend So it's gonna be forever!!!!!" She stopped singing when the car full of boys next to her started snickering.

"Oh yeah baby? How's this weekend?" One of them said then they all busted out laughing then the light turned green and sped off.

"UP YOURS YOU DUMB FUCKS!" She yelled loudly then turned the corner to Duncan house.

When she parked in the driveway the house was not what she expected. She thought it would look more. Built for him. A little dark.

But instead the house was a perky yellow with a white roof it was a 3 story house with a beautiful yard.

She was pleasantly surprised while she walked up to the door. She rang the doorbell. She looked at the flowers. They were so bright and beautiful. But she was in awe when she saw her favorite flower. tiger striped rose

(AN:they're really beautiful you should look at them.)

The door opened to show this beautiful woman with blonde hair. Her hair went a little below her shoulders with striking blue eyes. She smiled at Courtney.

"Hi! How can I help you?" She said smiling.

"Hi Miss.Sterling. I'm here for Duncan. We have a school project together and I was hoping I could get a few things done tonight." Courtney said, smiling brightly. She could tell that was his mother and she wanted to make a good impression.

Miss.sterling smiled and opened the door widely "please come in." Courtney stepped in the house.

"Do I need to take off my shoes?" Courtney said while gesturing to her designer heels.

"Those are gorgeous. And you don't have to hun ." She

Said walking towards the kitchen

If his mother picked out the furniture she has very good taste. She looked around at the furniture. She still couldn't believe Duncan lives here.

Duncan's mom led Courtney to the kitchen and pulled out a stool from the island.

"Would you like water?" Miss.Sterling asked herself to get water.

"No thanks. But you have a beautiful lawn." Courtney Said, setting her purse on the counter.

"Thank you so much. It sucks sometimes being the only girl around cause they don't appreciate flowers." She says chuckling while reaching in the cabinet getting thick green gloves.

Courtney smiled "My brother loved black roses. And I always loved tiger striped roses, especially the purple ones."

"It's hard to find guys now that's interested in gardening. He's very special. Perhaps I can send you home with some so you can give it to him." Miss.Sterling said sitting across from Courtney.

Courtney's smile faltered "my brother won't get them for 2-3 weeks cause he's in the military in Afghanistan."

Duncan's mom smiled softly " a very brave and beautiful thing he's doing."

Courtney smiled and then heard the front door open.

"ciao mamma ho comprato a Petey alcune cose nuove per la sua cuccia e ti ho procurato quelle candele che volevi dal negozio" Duncan's voice came through as he set the groceries on the table in the living room.

Courtney felt her heart jump. She was kinda scared to talk to him. She acted like such a bitch this morning.

Then a medium sized husky ran in the room. Duncan's mom got up and the dog Immediately greeted her.

Duncan walked in the kitchen and stopped when he saw Courtney sitting in his kitchen.

Courtney felt her heart leap in fear. She didn't know what to say to him yet.

"Uh hey what are you doing here?" Duncan said, confused.

"Our project. Miss.Cratz project." Courtney said standing up.

The dog was excited but stayed by Duncan. Much to Courtney's relief

"Oh right." Duncan nodded

"Now I'm gonna go out and work on the Garden. Would you like to stay for dinner Courtney?" His mom said grabbing the gloves off the counter.

"Sorry I can't have Volleyball and cheerleading practice." Courtney said.

"It's okay another time then?" She smiled

Courtney nodded and his mom went outside.

"Come on." Duncan said, walking to the stairs case. Courtney started to follow when Duncan's dog ran to Courtney and started jumping around Courtney's feet.

Courtney yelped out of surprise and fear. Duncan turned around and chuckled. "Sit petey." Duncan commanded.

The dog complied and sat reluctantly. Courtney quickly rushed to Duncan eager to get away from his dog And followed Duncan to his room.

When Courtney stepped into his room she expected it to be messy and black walls and pictures of girls everywhere.

Turns out his room was actually very clean. His walls were white with black trim. And there were pictures of motorcycles and women.

Courtney rolled her eyes at the last part.

He's such a guy

Courtney stood awkwardly in his room.

Duncan sat on his bed and grabbed his pocket knife and started playing with it.

"You can sit down." Duncan said, not looking at her.

Courtney sat on the other side of his bed awkwardly.

"So I was thinking that maybe we can start with you for the project." She said getting out her notepad and pencil from her purse.

"Why are you here?"

"The project..." she said stalling

Duncan didn't look convinced. " Courtney knock off the bullshit. You and I both know you're not here for our project."

Courtney sighed "well I wanted to apologize for what I said. If I woulda known I wouldn't have said that about you and...her." Courtney said looking in his eyes.

Duncan just looked at Courtney. She didn't know what to expect. Duncan can be unpredictable.

He held her under his intense gaze. She felt herself starting to squirm but stopped herself. She needed to stand her ground.

Duncan just smirked at her taking her way off guard.

"So you came all the way to my house to apologize?" Duncan said, smirking in amusement.

Courtney looked at Duncan shocked but quickly changed her face "uh yeah."

"How did you know where I lived?" Duncan said, still smirking.

"I asked Geoff."

Duncan laughed which made Courtney annoyed.

"Ugh whatever." She said rolling her eyes.

"Shouldn't you be with a model boy?" He asked for a piece of wood that he got from the store.

Courtney rolled her eyes.

" that's none of your business. But if you must know he's at a photo shoot."

Courtney's watch alarm went off.

Courtney, knowing what the alarm was for, got up and gathered hothead notebooks and pencils she took out and put them in her purse.

"What's the rush babe?" Duncan said looking up and down Courtney's form while she was putting her stuff away.

Courtney looked up and glared. "Don't call me babe." She said glaring daggers at him.

Duncan smirked. "Still didn't answer my question sweetheart." He said emphasizing "sweetheart" to purposely aggravate Courtney.

Courtney huffed angrily "will you stop with the stupid terms of endearment!"

Duncan busted out laughing "who the hell says terms of endearment!?"

"I do obviously!" She said annoyed beyond belief. She almost regretted coming here.

Courtney grabbed her phone off Duncan's bed to see a notification from her volleyball coach telling her (the captain of the volleyball team) to come early to practice in thirty minutes.

And she got the text twenty minutes ago.

"Fuck." Courtney swore to herself practically throwing her phone on his bed and digging in her purse.

"Duncan do you have a bathroom?" She asked urgently

Duncan looked confused "yeah in my room" he said. Pointing at the door in his room. Courtney nodded, grabbed her keys out of her purse and ran down stairs leaving Duncan confused.

...

Courtney sped walked out the door, went to the trunk of her car and grabbed her volleyball duffel bag and grabbed her jersey, spandex, sneakers and her knee pads.

Courtney shut the trunk of her car when Duncan's mom was in front of the door, losing the soil on the Mongolian flowers.

"Are you okay Hun?" His mom asked, seeing her frazzled state and the clothes in her hand.

"I lost track of time and now I'm gonna be late to Volleyball practice if I don't get to the school in the next eight minutes. Is it okay if I change here?" Courtney rushes out.

"Of course go ahead and if you need water it's in the fridge." She said moving over to let Courtney by.

"Thanks Miss.Sterling." Courtney said jogging in the house ran in Duncan's room and went in his bathroom not even noticing what Duncan was doing.

She hurried and got dressed, tied her long hair that went to her mid back up to a ponytail.

When she got dressed she came out to see Duncan carving wood. She quickly grabbed her phone and noticed that it was unlocked but quickly dismissed the idea as she realized that she was going to be late.

"You look hot." Duncan said, smirking.

Courtney rushed out his room quickly flipping him off and got the water to the fridge. She gave a rushed goodbye and thank you to Duncan's mom.

She had 5 minutes left to get there.

She drove faster than she usually would but by the time she got to the school she only had one minute left to get to the large gym.
