A/N: Hey everyone! I hope you are having a great day. Sorry this has taken me a while to update again. I've been busy with work and all, but also, I've been trying to figure out where to go with this. And if I should include the characters from the TWD. Anyways, just wanted to let you know that I moved some of the chapters together because they were really short. The song that will be played later on is Home by Phillip Phillips, if you wanted to play along. Enjoy!

Santana's POV:

I slowly open my eyes as I hear footsteps begin to approach. I look up at the ceiling and around the room, thankful that the lights are dim. I found the same young boy, who had hit me earlier, holding a baseball bat standing near the doorway. He looked a few years older than my Lucas.

Lucas… oh how I miss my sweet little man.

Flashback:

It was October 14, 2010, Quinn was home alone in her study room when she decided to go to the kitchen and grab a quick snack before returning to continue analyzing her case. Before making her way back to the room, Quinn had felt something drip down her shorts and looked down at the newly formed puddle on the ground in between her legs.

Oh my god… It's happening…

Quinn pulls out her phone and dials a familiar number.

"Tana…"

"Hey baby, I'm just arriving at work right now. What's up?"

"Tana…my water just broke." Quinn says while a small smile forms.

Quinn was rushed to the hospital via ambulance due to Santana being stuck in traffic. Her timely contractions and excruciating pain had let the doctor realize that they were having this baby right this second; With or without Santana.

After a few minutes of excruciatingly painful pushing, the door swung open.

"Hey Luc, I made it!" Santana said with a big smile walking toward Quinn to hold her hand. The smile disappeared when she saw the condition of her blonde.

"Okay Quinn, I see the head. One more big push!" the doctor says

"YOU SUCK! YOU SUCK! YOU SUCKKK!" Quinn screams in agonizing pain while looking straight at Santana and tightly squeezing her hand.

Cries from a newborn begin to fill the room as an exhausted Quinn and a smiling Santana look at each other in amazement. The two start tearing up at the sound of their child's cries.

"Thank you Luc! You have no idea how much I love you!" Santana says while kissing Quinn on the lips. It was short and sweet, but also quite meaningful.

"Okay Miss Lopez, here is your baby boy! Congratulations to the both of you! You three make a lovely family!" Doctor Nielson says while handing the small boy to Santana.

After the two stayed overnight at the hospital, it was time for them to go home. Santana had brought in a car seat, but was struggling to secure it in place.

"Damn it! I can't get this damn seat to stop moving. Oh wait-"

Quinn looks at Santana and shakes her head in disappointment while laughing at how long it took the Latina to figure it out.

Santana carefully buckled Lucas to the car seat, making sure that he was secured and still sleeping. Then Santana made her way to Quinn and helped her get in the car. The drive home was silent as Quinn quickly fell asleep to Santana's humming. As they finally arrived home, Santana gently woke up her wife to inform her that they had arrived. She made her way to the backseat and unbuckled Lucas and carried him inside, while holding Quinn's hand along the way.

Quinn had quickly made her way to the bedroom, threw herself on the bed and passed out. Santana saw how tired her poor blonde was and decided to let her sleep. Santana had set Lucas in his crib by their bed and accidently woke him up, however instead of crying, Lucas just stared at Santana.

Those beautiful hazel eyes, she thought.

Santana quickly picked up her guitar and started to strum and sing quietly.

Hold on to me as we go

As we roll down this unfamiliar road

And although this wave is stringing us along

Just know you're not alone

'Cause I'm gonna make this place your home

Santana hadn't noticed that Quinn began to stir up in her sleep, as her attention was solely on Lucas. With her eyes closed, Quinn listened to Santana sing softly to Lucas as a smile started to creep in.

She has such a beautiful voice. We've been married for three years and yet, she makes me feel like my heart has skipped a beat. Better yet, multiple beats.

Settle down, it'll all be clear

Don't pay no mind to the demons, they fill you with fear

The trouble, it might drag you down

If you get lost, you can always be found

Just know you're not alone

'Cause I'm gonna make this place your home

Santana saw that Lucas was smiling the entire time that she was playing. Might be the sound of the guitar. Or might be her angelic voice. Santana continues to strum along as she begins to stare at her son's eyes. She looks at the way they sparkle and resemble those of Quinn's. Those same eyes that had Santana head over heels for.

Settle down, it'll all be clear

Don't pay no mind to the demons, they fill you with fear

The trouble, it might drag you down

If you get lost, you can always be found

Just know you're not alone

'Cause I'm gonna make this place your home

And with that, a happy Lucas was asleep.

End of Flashback

I attempted to move my hands to wipe the tears that started to form, but was unsuccessful and noticed that all four of my limbs were zip tied to the bed frame.

Wanky. I thought as I remembered a certain time a certain blonde had me in this condition. Stop it Santana, now is not the time.

"I changed your bandage. It was pretty messy, but I got the wound disinfected and all. What was it though? The wound." the man says while continuing to wash his hands.

"Gunshot."

"Gunshot? Anything else?"

"Is being shot not enough?" I say with a bit of an attitude

The man looks furious. "Look, I ask the questions, you answer. Pretty simple. Okay?" I send him an apologetic look. "Did you get bit?"

"Bit?"

"Bit. Maybe even scratched. Anything like that?"

"No, just shot."

The man pulls out a small pocket knife and holds it close to my neck. "If you try anything, I will kill you with this. Don't think I won't." He proceeds to cut the zip ties and frees my hands and legs. "Come on out if you're able." The man and boy both leave the bedroom to let me process things.

After a few minutes, I join the two in the dining room, but see that all the windows and doors are completely covered and nailed down. I begin to hear moans and groans from outside the house. I went over to the window to try and move the blankets that covered it to see where the sounds were coming from.

"Don't. They'll see the light." the man quietly says from the kitchen.

"They?"

"There's a lot more of them walking out there than usual. I shouldn't have fired that gun today, now they are all over our street. It was extremely stupid of me."

The young boy and I take our seats at the table as his father pours soup into our bowls and we begin to eat.

"You shot that man today." I say.

"Man?"

"That wasn't a man." the boy quietly says

"I saw you. You shot him in the head. You killed him."

"Miss you need glasses. That wasn't a man, it was a walker."

Walker? What the hell is a walker? I thought

The man notices my confusion at the term he just used. "Miss, do you know what's going on?"

"I woke up today in the hospital. Came home and now I'm here."

"Do you know about the dead people?"

"Yeah. I saw a lot of them in the hospital. Nurses and doctors-"

"No, not the ones they put down. The ones they didn't"

"The other ones?" I am so damn confused

"The Walkers. Just like the one that I shot. He would've ripped into you." He looks at me. "Wow… I guess this is the first you're hearing about this. I know how it must sound-"

"Insane." I say as the man slightly chuckles.

"Well. They get more active during the night. We just have to stay quiet and let them move right along. They'll hopefully be gone by the morning." The man says as I nod. "One thing that you must know is that you cannot get bit. The bite is what kills you. After a bit of time, you'll come back, but just like one of them."

The three of us finished our soup and I followed the two to the living room as it was time for the young boy to sleep.

"Did you ask her dad?" the young boy said, a bit drowsy. I looked confused at the man. Ask me what.

"My boy, Elijah, was wondering if you were a robber. You know because of the gunshot." I start smiling at the young boy's curiosity

"Yep! That's me. The baddest of them all." I begin to chuckle. "Police officer. My name is Santana Lopez."

"Toby Barrett." the man replies

"Lucas. Is he your son?" I look up at Toby confused, but then I nod. "Elijah had told me you said his name."

"He's a little bit younger than your boy."

"Is he with his other mother? I saw the card that was in your gown. Quinn, was it?"

" Yep, that's her. Man, I hope so." I say as I start to wonder about my family's safety.

A car alarm starts blaring out in the neighborhood causing Elijah to jump up in fear.

"It's okay Eli, I'm here. Don't worry. One of them must have bumped into a car." Toby looks at Santana, "Happened before, but should last a few minutes." I nod.

"Son, turn off the lights and blow out the candles, okay?" Toby says to the scared boy.

Toby and I moved over to the covered windows to see where the car was. Elijah joined us as well.

"She's h-here." Elijah says as his voice cracks.

"Don't look, Elijah. Get away from the window son." The sadden boy runs off to the living and away from the windows and starts sobbing. I look over to Toby confused and Toby mouths the word, "Mother."

I looked over to the boy, then back to Toby and said, "I'm so sorry." We then joined where Elijah sat and tried to comfort him.

"She died in the other room. On that bed. There was nothing I could do. I know I should have put her down, but I couldn't. She was the mother of my child." Toby explains as the boy quietly cries in his pillow.

What if that had happened to Quinn? What if Lucas had seen his momma-? NO, I can't think like that! They are alive and I will see them again.

After a few minutes, the boy had cried himself to sleep. Toby and I decided it was time to call it a night and prepare for tomorrow morning.

I actually loved Morgan and Duane from the TWD. Also Santana singing to Lucas! My heart.
