Courtney walked out of the class and Duncan was standing by the door smirking.
"Woah bad girl! Skipping class huh?" He said chuckling.
Courtney just scoffed and rolled her eyes "Um I have a pass." Duncan just rolled his eyes unimpressed "typical..." he muttered.
"Look we're gonna do something fun and you're going to enjoy it," Duncan said before walking grabbing Courtney's wrist.
"Um I highly doubt it but okay..." she said trailing off walking with him. She briefly eying his hand around her wrist.
After a silence, Courtney huffed in annoyance "where the hell are we going?!" She asked.
Duncan smirked at her impatience "you'll find out."
He led them to a room and from Courtney's knowledge, it was the snack room they open for special occasions which were rare cause their principal Chris McLean always ate the food in there and used food as bribery for some kids.
"What are we doing here?" Courtney asked him folding her arms.
"You love brownies right?" He asked already knowing the answer.
"Yeah but what does this have to-" she cut herself off putting a hand over her mouth she gasped stunned "you aren't ".
Duncan almost rolls his eyes at her dramatic act " no babe we are."
"We?!?"
"Yeah come on Geoff told me how you like soft cookies and shit and I already know about the brownies so come on." He said then kneeling down picking the lock.
"I am not doing this! It's against the rules and if we got caught Mr.McLean would kill us!" She exclaimed.
"You scared? If you're scared you can go back to class. Or you could just live a little but I guess you're not bold enough." He said shrugging still picking the lock.
Courtney scoffed with a fire in her eyes " excuse me?" She said taking the bait Duncan threw at her.
"Well obviously your too scared to be bold so just do what good rich girls do." He said standing up putting his pocket knife in his pocket after successfully unlocking the door.
Courtney glared at him and stalked in front of him and opened the door walking in. Duncan felt proud. She was always doing everyone's expectations being a goody goody and always following the rules.in Duncan's eyes, it was time for her to do something bad. And boy he knew it was nice to see her do something bad.
Duncan followed behind her and saw cotton candy, chocolate, licorice, cookies, ice cream of all flavors, and lots of other sweets candies, and chips.
Courtney marveled at the different varieties of foods.
"Welcome to the fun side babe." He said leaning against the shelf eating M .
Courtney gaped at Duncan "you did not pay for those so stop eating them!"
"Oh no way get some and shove them in your backpack," he said before grabbing a bunch of different Lays flavored chips and putting them in her backpack.
Courtney glared at him "this is stealing! We'll get detention and-"
"Hush babe trusts me I know what I'm doing." He said before grabbing Hershey's, Reese's, donettes, cheese its, pringles, and more.
Courtney just folded her arms.
"Look I know how you are but I need you to trust me I got this okay?" He said.
"And I'll tell you what if you get in trouble I'll owe you big time." He said seriously.
"Ugh fine. I better not get caught." She said reluctantly before grabbing soft chocolate chip cookies, brownies, seaweed, and other foods she loved and put them in her backpack.
Courtney when noticed her bag was full noticed Duncan didn't fill his bag up at all.
"Um, why aren't you doing your bag?" She asked suspiciously.
"Cause I have a plan," Duncan said before closing her bag and making the food inside unnoticeable.
Courtney didn't hear it but Duncan did it was keys and a walkie-talkie and footsteps and it sounded like it was coming their way.
Duncan quickly threw stuff in his bag "Courtney start screaming at me for stealing! Now!" He said quickly and quietly.
Courtney looked confused then she heard a walkie-talkie and quickly got in character.
"What are you doing you are stealing! That is illegal put all of that food back! You did not purchase those. How did you even get in here!" She screeched horrified at his actions.
Duncan was impressed she was really good at acting. No wonder she was so dramatic.
"Oh shut up you keep your mouth shut. I'm not stealing I'm just taking what I earn." He said then he heard a man clear his throat he looked at the sources of the sound to see Mr.McLean.
"Stealing my food. Not cool dude." McLean said shaking his head in fake disappointment.
"McLean I caught him doing this I think he probably picked the lock or something." She said Golding her arms and looking at him in disgust.
"Don't worry about it, babe." He said sarcastically.
Chris eyed them both suspiciously "how do I know you aren't both working together." He started folding his arms.
Duncan just scoffed "I'd never work with her she's probably gonna snitch or get me caught."
Courtney looked offended at both their statements.
"Do you not know who I am? I'm Courtney Mallory I have an image to maintain I don't need a pink like him screwing it up" she said shooting a glare at Duncan.
"Yeah yeah you dump your bag," he said referring to Duncan.
"And you Courtney get back to class." Courtney started walking leaving Duncan behind and waited for him out of sight.
Duncan came around the corner sauntering didn't even see Courtney around the corner.
"Um hello?" She said looking at him in disbelief.
When Duncan turned to face her he smirked: " well well well didn't know babe had it in her." He said folding his arms.
Courtney gave a shy smile " the feeling- the rush I got back there was so exhilarating! It's like I want more!" She said smiling big.
Duncan for the first time saw her smile. Of course, he saw it before but it was sarcastic or for pictures or out of politeness. He never actually seen her genuinely smile. She was really beautiful when she did.
Duncan snapped out of his thoughts when Courtney began walking off somewhere.
"Where are you going?" Duncan said confused.
Courtney just kept walking and Duncan followed.
Courtney went into the bathroom. She didn't need to use the bathroom she just needs to look at herself. Not a way that would make her Justin conceited, just cause she did something that was different for her and it felt different. She just wanted to see could she see the difference in herself.
But the crazy thing is she didn't really see anything. But yet she felt so different.
She heard the toilet flush but she ignored it and kept studying her face.
"Oh. It's you." A female voice said rudely.
Courtney looked behind her reflection to see Madison.
"That's nice," Courtney said sarcastically. She went in her purse and started putting on mascara careful not to poke her eye.
Madison went to the sink next to her and washed her hands.
"Isn't it funny how life works? You break up you date someone.." she said before drying her hands.
"What do you want Madison?" Courtney said bluntly already with the conversation she didn't even want to have.
"I just find it funny how all the sudden you and Duncan are a thing when he wouldn't even give you a glance before." She shrugged.
"Look Madison how we got together and when is none of your business. So stop prying." Courtney said
" let me guess let's make an appearance at the party so we can convince everyone we're dating especially after I just got my broke by a model crazed wannabe." She said in a mocking voice.
Courtney faced her this time " just face it. Duncan will NEVER like you. You're a crazy stalker desperate bitch. Your mad cause your second place when it comes to me, sweetheart." Courtney said with a scowl painted on her face.
This time Madison glared " no YOU face it. I'm going to fuck up this fake ass relationship. Whether it's from me exposing to everyone that it's fake or me pulling strings. So you watch your back." Madison said before leaving the bathrooms.
Courtney gripped her lip gloss tightly but she calmed herself down. If that bitch wants to play we can play.
She smiled at the mirror before walking out to see Duncan smoking.
Duncan looked over and saw Courtney's face scrunched up in disgust.
"Duncan that's a bad habit!"
"Oh hush it's weed, not a cigarette," Duncan said leaned against the wall turning his head to look at something.
Courtney looked at him. Even though she didn't smoke and didn't really go for guys who smoked. She thought guys that smoked was a turn-off. Excluding Johnny Depp and Leonardo DiCaprio. But Duncan's jawline was showing and his hair in the wind. Courtney blushed looking at him and hope he didn't notice.
He looked at her and smirked, " everything okay?" He said.
"Why wouldn't I be?" She said shrugging. "Well, you look very irritated since Madison was in the bathroom."
Courtney just rolled her eyes " she's just a delusional loser that has nothing else better to do in life."
Duncan chuckled he couldn't say she was wrong.

It was now lunch and Duncan and Courtney still were together. It was weird cause everything she was doing with Duncan, Justin wouldn't let her do that. He didn't like PDA at certain times of the day. Nor did he really support her. He always seemed to put her down mentally. At certain times he was physically abusive.
"Hey what's in your mind," Duncan asked, seeing the emotions play on her face.
"Nothing." She said pushing her thoughts to the back of her mind, also not wanting to talk about it.
Duncan knew something was wrong and just gave her a look. Courtney just smiled hoping it would make him forget. Unfortunately for Courtney that didn't work.
"Just drop it" Courtney snapped at him. Duncan looked taken aback by her sudden change in attitude. Courtney felt bad but she didn't want to talk about it.
"Hey dudes!!" Geoff yelled to them two sitting outside the cafeteria. Bridgette also followed, smiling wide at her boyfriend's eagerness.
"What's up, man!" Duncan exclaimed when he got closer to them.
"You guys ready to PARTAYYY!!!" He hollered.
Courtney chuckled along with Bridgette while Duncan smirked "hell yeah man you got the drinks? Cause if you need I can put 30 on it." Duncan said.
"Nope, I got it all covered. Food, drinks, weed, and the surround sound system. "
Courtney just rolled her eyes " I don't see why you need drinks that just promotes drinking and driving."
"You must be fun at parties," Duncan said sarcastically.
Courtney was going to retort to his comment but Geoff replied.
"Don't worry Mocha, everyone who drinks and doesn't want to drive we allow them to stay there till they sober up." He said smiling sitting across from them.
"Courtney your forgetting you can hold your liquor pretty well though. Wanna take shots with me?" Bridgette said sitting on the edge of the table.
"Actually no. I will not be drinking this evening." She said.
"Come on! You know Heather is going to be with Alejandro most of the time! I could use a little company here and there." She said pleadingly.
"I promised I wouldn't get drunk!" Geoff said pouting.
"Yeah, we'll see," Bridgette said doubtfully.
Courtney got a text from Trent saying they needed to talk about the volleyball game coming up.
Courtney got up from Duncan's side causing Duncan to look at her for the first time since she snapped at him. "Where you going?" He asked
"I'm going to talk to the manager of the volleyball team." She said. She technically wasn't lying but she knew he didn't like Trent.
"Alright, babe gimmie kiss." He said smirking.
Courtney wanted to claw his eyes out but she couldn't she had to keep the charade up.
She kissed him Duncan kept it going for a little before Courtney pulled away. Courtney blushed before going outside the cafeteria.
She saw Trent sitting with his guitar strumming it. His shaggy black hair in his face as he focused on the guitar.
"Hey, Trent." She said sitting next to him.
"Hey. Coach wanted me to say that instead of the game being in Barstow it's going to be in Spring field." He said looking at her with his conspicuous emerald eyes.
Courtney nodded in reply immediately thinking about the practice on Monday.
"Courtney, can I ask you something?" He said putting his guitar on the ground, with the neck leaning on him.
"Yeah?" She asked.
"I thought you didn't like Duncan why do you like him? I don't get it?" Trent said with a slight hesitation and confusion.
"Well I just do," she said not having an answer for him.
"Courtney that doesn't make sense!" He exclaimed annoyed, she knew they were enemies and she just dated him.
Courtney was aware of how he didn't like Duncan but him jumping on her case cause she was dating him was making her mad.
"You know what else doesn't you dating Gwen the way you did. Everyone knows you and Duncan don't like each other but for you to date her knowing she was dating Duncan, is not fucking like you and was low. Even for you and you know it." She said pissed off glaring at him harshly.
"Babe?" Called a voice behind her.
Duncan stood there with an eyebrow raised at Courtney's harsh tone towards Trent. "You good?' He asked.
"Yeah come on this conversation is finished." She said sending Trent a glare before getting up and walking to Duncan.
Trent looked at them walking away. What Courtney said stinging in his soul.
——————————-
After school Duncan drove Courtney home in his car. Since lunch, Courtney wasn't really in a good mood so Duncan didn't push it but he didn't want her to leave his car mad. Which was weird cause usually he wouldn't care, but for some reason, he felt like it was his job too.
What do I say to make her smile? Hmmm
"You look like your going to kill someone." He blurted. Duncan mentally slapped his forehead. What the hell was that. Now she's going to kill me.
"I am not in the mood okay." She said.
"Wanna talk about it then." He said focusing his eyes on the road.
"No."
"Why not." He said trying to get her to budge.
"Cause I don't want to.."
"But why?"
"Because"
But wh-"
" if you say why again I'm gonna smash your head on the fucking steering wheel." She snapped at him.
Duncan just smirked and replied"I think it was Trent. I think he asked why we were dating." Courtney just stayed silent not answering his question.
"He's not happy cause of it, right? If it's bothering you that much we don't have to do this babe." He said.
" I don't care if he's happy or not I'm doing this for my own reason and it's not for him." She scoffed.
"Do you like Trent?" He asked turning a corner.
"When I was in middle school but we were friends and I didn't want to ruin it so I stopped liking him after a while." She said.
"So your not jealous?" He asked boldly.
"I don't like him anymore I'm just mad at how he acted cause I was dating you that all nothing more nothing less." She stated completely serious.
"So you did want to talk about it." He said smirking.
Courtney realized what he tricked her into doing before glaring at him "you jack ass! Just ignore that." She huffed.
"Look babe obviously Elvis and I don't get along but I saw his face when you were walking away and he looked like he felt bad so he's going to apologize don't even stress and if he doesn't I'll give you 20 bucks."
Courtney looked at him with a suspicious look " why are you being so... nice?"
"I'm not nice," Duncan said flatly
"Yes you are and I'm going to prove it." She said smirking at him.
Duncan saw the smirk she gave from the corner of her eye. Fuck she is hot. Duncan quickly dismissed that thought though "good luck with that." He said pulling up in her driveway.
Courtney was going to get out but then she remembered how he snapped at him earlier at lunch. "hey um Duncan? I just wanted to say sorry about snapping at you at lunch.." she said meaning it.
Duncan's face unreadable. Courtney was going to say something when Duncan replied " It's okay babe people suck and life sucks." Courtney let out a smile seeing his playful smile.
"Tomorrow I'm going to pick you up early cause I have football practice before school so be ready by 4:30." He said while she was getting out.
"Hold on? 4:30?!? What the hell?" She exclaimed.
"I'll buy you coffee or something or whatever just be ready. I have to go home cause I have family over. So I'll see you alright." He said before pulling off.
Courtney stomped at his car that was driving away "Duncan you ass!"
