Robert, Holly and Anna all took turns hugging Emma. "Hi grandma, grandpa and Grandma Holly." Emma beamed greeting three of her grandparents.
"Look at you! All grown up." Holly couldn't believe how much Emma reminded her of Robin.
"Yes, I'm in college now. On break for the holidays of course. Did you know Cam and I go to the same college?" Emma asked them all.
"That's got to be nice for him to have a friend." Anna said to her granddaughter. She knew how close they were when Emma was little.
Emma nodded, she looked over at Jayne and walked over. "Hi, I'm your niece!" She enthusiastically told her new aunt.
Jayne loved that she just accepted her right off, it was sweet. "I'm your Aunt Jaynie, it's nice to meet you. I have heard a lot about you."
Emma kept smiling. "Is it okay if I hug you?" She asked.
Jayne put her arms out and welcomed her niece into a hug.
Holly couldn't hide her smile which of course made Robert smile too.
Emma let Jayne go. "I came in to get snacks for Noah and Seana." Emma went over to the cabinet and found some fruit snacks. "Do you think these are okay?"
"Okay with me but make sure Noah only has one and check with Ethan and Annie." Robin told her daughter.
Emma nodded and walked back out.
"She's grown into such a lovely young woman. I bet you and Patrick are proud." Holly smiled at Robin.
"Very much so." Robin beamed with pride, Emma had turned out to be such a great person.
Patrick walked into the kitchen. "Seems a guy has got to come in here to get a hello."
Holly's face lit up as she went over to hug Patrick. "Patrick, how are you?"
"Wonderful. Happy to know you are safe." Patrick went over to greet Anna as well.
Once dinner was done, Robert and Patrick had made room so that they could all be at the table, because there were only two kids they wanted Seana and Noah to sit with them. Seana insisted on sitting next to Robert.
"Well I've got a few things I'm grateful for this year. I'm thankful that I'm back with the love of my life, that I went from the father of two kids to three, that I have another little granddaughter." Robert gave Seana a squeeze. "I'm grateful to have all of my family here right now too."
Holly smiled at Robert and placed her hand on his free one. "I am thankful that Ethan and Robert were able to find me with help of course, that I saved Ethan earlier this year, that I'm back home with my Robert. That our lovely newfound daughter knows how to cook very well. That all of you are here with us." Holly looked around the table, she absolutely loved her family.
Each of them said what they were thankful for, Anna who was having a hard time made sure she let them know how thankful she was for her family and friends. When they got to Seana she of course said grandpa which made everyone laugh. They had a wonderful dinner and dessert, complimenting both Seana and Holly for the meal.
Afterwards Holly asked Anna if she would like to go into the kitchen with her so that they could put things up, she thought that was a great time for some girl talk.
"If you don't feel like talking about it I understand but I am here for you." Holly told Anna as she reached out and took her hand.
Anna smiled as she looked at her friend. "Thank you. I just feel like I am always going to be searching for someone that compares to Duke and there never will be. I thought Valentin was different.." Anna felt silly feeling that way.
"I get it, when I was involved with Bill in 1992 I thought he was different. It's hard once you have been with the best." Holly sat down next to Anna. The putting leftovers up could wait.
"It's true. I am really glad you and Robert have each other again. You have no idea how lost he is without you. He lives his life but he's grouchy." Anna told Holly.
"I am glad we are back together too. You are going to find happiness Anna and until then just remember you have your family and friends, technically I think I am family." Holly said to her.
Anna gave her a warm smile and pulled her into a hug. "You definitely are my friend."
