The contestants were finishing up their meals in the dining area.
Chris entered with a smile on his face. "It's challenge time!"
"Great. More shocking us?" Blaineley asked.
"No... in five minutes, I want everyone to head to the cabins, where your challenge will take place."
"In the cabins?" Mike questioned. "Are we doing chores."
"Maybe naptime?" Zoey joked.
Chris rolled his eyes. "Meet me over at the middle cabin, the Rooster's."
Chris left the cabin.
"What do you think we'll do?" Cameron asked.
"Maybe a race?" Jazelle suggested.
"But why at the cabins?" Harold asked.
Trent chimed into the conversation. "Maybe he'll lock us in there and we'll have to escape without breaking any windows, the lock, or parts of the walls."
"You want that to happen?" Jazelle asked.
"I just thought it would be a good challenge idea."
"That would be horrible!" Gwen yelled. "Could you imagine being locked inside a cabin where the walls are caving in and there's no escape?"
"Well, I doubt that the walls would actually be caving in," Harold mentioned. "It would just be an element of fear from your claustrophobia."
"Thanks, Harold," Gwen said sarcastically. "That really helps."
"Don't mention it."
DJ came around and gathered everyone's dishes. "I hope y'all enjoyed it." He said as everyone began to get up and push their chairs in. "Sorry for anyone who had to eat Chef's food."
"Thanks, DJ!" Owen said. "The food was really good!"
"Which was your favorite?"
"The mini sandwiches, the fruit salad, the rotisserie chicken, the fries and wedges, the macaroni, and the garlic rice."
"That was all of lunch," Emma mentioned.
"What can I say? I have many favorites. I'm on a see-food diet. I see it, I eat it."
"Well, I wish everyone luck in the challenge! Don't tell Chris, but I'll make everyone rootbeer floats after the challenge. Just come to the kitchen afterward."
The contestants met up with Chris at the Rooster's cabin.
"Hello everyone! Time to start today's challenge!"
"Why is there black tape over the windows?" Harold asked.
"Because we want the cabins to be kinda dark," Chris answered. "Don't worry, Jasmine and Gwen, you're not being locked up."
"What are you going to do? Shove us in the cabins, pour gasoline around it, then set it on fire?" Scott questioned
"Let's say that it was an idea, but not finalized due to this only being our 9th episode."
"Figures." Heather scoffed. "But if it was the finale, you'd be all over the idea."
"Well... I wouldn't disagree with that." Chris responded. "For today's challenge, I have hidden many items inside the cabin. One person from each team will go inside their cabin to find an item that matches my 'I spy' clue! I have three interns ready at each cabin at the end of the stairwell. First-person to bring that item out, following the 'I spy' clue will get a point for their team. If you hear a knock on your door, come out immediately because somebody else has found it. The first team to 6 points wins and the only team not to reach 6 points will have to eliminate 2 contestants!"
"What?" Lindsay questioned. "A third double?"
"Did I stutter?" Chris asked. "I will randomly select 1 person from each team for round one. You guys will decide round 2 but nobody can go again until everyone goes at least one time. Lightning, Dawn, and Emma are first up."
The interns all put their hands on the door handle, ready to open them.
"Are you ready?" Chris asked.
They all nodded.
"Good!" He pulled out his megaphone. "LET'S GET THIS STARTED!"
"They could hear you without that stupid thing!" Jazelle quipped.
"SHUT IT, FASHION MODEL! Now, I spy with my little eye, something with Team Victory's logo on it."
The interns opened the door as they rushed inside.
Chris turned to the other contestants. "The items in the cabins are like hairbrushes, videogame consoles, sports balls, candles, pillows, etc. You will be able to keep these items if you win a point for your team."
"So where're our personal belongings?" Cameron asked.
"They're in the supply room of the kitchen," Chris answered.
Dawn came out of the cabin first as everyone else turned around. She had a lemon-scented candle with the logo on it.
The intern gave a thumbs-up as the other two knocked on the door for Lightning and Emma to come back out.
"Dawn scores a point for the Roosters!" Chris announced as Lightning and Emma walked out.
"Nice job!" Sammy exclaimed as Dawn walked over to them.
Heather clapped as well.
"Why are you clapping?" Bridgette questioned. "Emma didn't get the point."
"Give me a break, Dawn is depressed."
Bridgette looked towards Dawn then back to Heather. "That's nice of you. I'm sorry for snapping on you."
"Don't worry about it," Heather replied with a smile.
"You have 60 seconds to decide who goes into Round 2."
"I'd be happy to go!" Kitty exclaimed.
"Well, next time we should see what the other teams want to do. So we know our competition." Cameron mentioned.
"Kitty can go this round then we can plan around for next round," Harold suggested.
"Great idea!" Sierra said. "We got this in the bag!"
"Kitty will be weak competition," Jo said. "I'll go and beat her."
"I wouldn't underestimate Kitty," Owen noted. "She's-"
"Zip it Creampuff! I'm doing it, end of story,"
"Lindsay, who do you think should go?" Heather asked.
"How dark was it, Emma?" Lindsay asked.
"It wasn't pitch black but it wasn't bright. Pretty in the middle."
"Anybody want to go?" Lindsay asked.
"I'll go!" Carrie said. "Could be fun!"
Lindsay nodded. "Okay, good luck Carrie!"
"Okay, whoever is going up, please head to your cabin door."
Kitty, Jo, and Carrie walked to their cabins.
"I spy, with my little eye, something with bear paw-prints! Go!"
They quickly ran inside.
"How about we plan ahead," Lindsay suggested to her team. "I'll go next, then Heather can go."
"I'll go after her!" Bridgette exclaimed.
"Good, then Gwen can go after Bridgette and I'll go after her," Trent added.
"Then I can go last to finish us off," Jasmine said.
"Great!" Lindsay yelled.
Carrie busted out of the cabin. She had a blue pillow with orange bear paw prints on it.
"Carrie scores a point for the Catfish!" Chris announced. The other two interns let Kitty and Jo out.
"Way to go, Jo!" Courtney quipped. "Thought you wouldn't lose this round?"
"Not to Kitty, which I didn't!"
"Well, you've proven yourself very useful." Courtney retorted.
Jo Confessional:
"We need to get Courtney out really soon! She thinks that she can go from hated by the entire team to trying to be some type of leader. That won't slide!"
"Time for round 3!" Chris announced. "Any volunteers?"
"I'll go!" Lindsay exclaimed.
"I'd be honored to prove my worth and go for my team!" Harold said.
"I guess I will do it!" Courtney said.
"Okay," Chris began. "Harold, Lindsay, and Courtney! Go to your cabins."
They walked up to their cabins, waiting for Chris to start.
"I spy, with my little eye, something round. Go!"
The interns opened the doors for them as they rushed in.
Harold quickly rushed out, hitting his intern in the face with the door on accident, holding a tennis ball.
"Woah! That was quick!" Chris yelled.
"Is the intern okay?" Mike asked.
"He will be," Chris said as Courtney and Lindsay came out. "Harold scores a point for the Goats! It's one all!"
"No way!" Lindsay yelled. "That was way too quick!"
"Sorry, but Harold got the point fair and square," Cameron commented.
"I call B.S.!" Courtney quipped.
"B.S.? I thought the only thing you'd call are those poor lawyers of yours." Blaineley retorted.
"Round four!" Chris announced. "Who's going into battle?"
"I'm in for Roosters," Sky said.
"I'll go for us!" Heather stated.
"I will go for the Goats?" Devin suggested.
Zoey nodded at him.
"Yep, I'll go!" Devin clarified.
"Okay, head up!" Chris demanded as they walked up to the cabins. "I spy, with my little eye, something with stripes."
The contestants rushed into the cabins.
"We feel confident with Sky.." Courtney said glaring towards Lindsay.
Lindsay ignored her.
"I'm talking to you!" Courtney yelled.
Lindsay shrugged, keeping her eyes on the cabin.
Heather rushed out of the cabin with a pink striped notebook with a zebra on the cover.
"Heather scores for the Catfish!" Chris announced as Devin and Sky came out.
"Good try, Devin!" Geoff said.
"Thanks, bro." Devin responded.
"What was that, Sky?" Courtney yelled.
"You didn't get a point either. I suggest you calm down!"
Sky Confessional:
"I'm tired of Courtney! Now I'm not so worried about hurting her feelings with the use of Scott! She's out of here."
"Great!" Emma said. "That notebook is beautiful!"
"You want it?" Heather asked handing it to her. "I know we're not close, but here's to new beginnings."
Emma took the notebook and hugged it. "I love it! Thank you, Heather."
"Round five!" Chirs began. "Who's up?"
"I'd be happy to go!" Bridgette said.
"I'll offer my talents," Blaineley stated.
Mike shrugged. "I'll go."
"Okay, go to the cabins." Chris waited until they got there, "I spy, with my little eye, something soft."
They ran in there, as the interns pretty much gave up.
"Good luck, Mike!" Zoey yelled getting a glare from Lightning. "He's my boyfriend... I wish the best for him."
"Sha-why?" Lightning asked.
"Well, that's what love is. I hope Blaineley gets the point, but I wish Mike does well."
"That's the most stupider thing Lightning has heard all day!" He responded.
"Really?" Jazelle asked. "I lost brain cells listening to you form that sentence."
Blaineley rushed out of the cabin with a blanket. "I got a Bruno blanket!" she squealed. "I love it!" The blanket was green and blue with Bruno the Bear's face on it.
"Mildred scores for the Goats!" Chris announced. "That's 2 for the Goats, 1 for the Roosters, and 2 for the Catfish!"
Mike walked towards his team with his head low, knowing he was going to get an earful from Courtney.
"That was pathetic!" Courtney yelled. "I've seen a chimpanzee do better than that!"
"Hey!" Zoey yelled. "Why don't you lay off of him. Last time I've checked, when you went up to compete, Harold beat you in 10 seconds."
Scott Confessional:
"I'm literally so confused."
Courtney walked away from Zoey and Mike.
"You okay?" Mike asked.
"Me?"
"Well, you never yell." Mike insisted.
Zoey blushed and kissed him on the cheek. "I'm fine and I'm glad that you are too."
"Round six!" Chris began. "Who's going up?"
"I can go," Geoff stated.
"I'll do it." Gwen sighed. "For the team."
"I got this!" Sammy insisted.
"You know what to do," Chris said as they walked up to the cabins. "I spy, with my little eye, something with white polka dots."
They rushed inside.
"Gwen seemed unsure about going." Trent pointed out. "I hope she's okay."
"Just talk to her," Bridgette suggested. "I'll help if you need it."
Trent nodded at Bridgette. "Thanks."
Bridgette Confessional:
"At first, I thought Gwen and Trent's relationship wasn't a great idea. But Gwen is happy and so is Trent. So I want to make sure that there's something good out of it.
Sammy ran out of the cabin holding a bright red lighter with polka dots.
"Sammy scores!" Chris yelled. "2 points all!"
Sammy ran up to Dawn. "This will be perfect with your candle."
Dawn smiled. "Yay! Lemon fresh!"
Gwen and Geoff came out of their cabins.
Trent walked up to Gwen. "Are you okay, Gwen?"
Gwen looked up at Trent, a little dazed. "Huh? Oh I'll talk to you later."
Trent kissed her forehead. "I'm up next." He said with a grin.
"Round 7! Whoever is going up, head to your cabin."
Jazelle, Owen, and Trent went up to their cabins.
"Sha-goodluck Jazelle!" Lightning yelled.
Zoey smirked at him.
Zoey Confessional:
"I saw Lightning being supportive. There's something between Lightning and Jazelle. But I'll wait for further proof."
"I spy, with my little eye, something that represents the AfterMath show!"
They ran into their cabins and began to search.
"Dudes! I'm a genius!" Geoff yelled. "Chris is the host of the show! His wannabe is named Topher! Chris and Topher together is Christopher!"
Bridgette facepalmed. "I'm getting married to that."
"No regrets baby?" Geoff asked.
Bridgette smiled. "None."
Jazelle ran out of the cabin holding a chocolate bar. "This bar is called Ridonculousy Heavenly Cocoa Bars with Leshawna and Beth posing as angels on the wrapper."
Everyone cringed at the bar title and design.
"Doesn't exactly... roll of the tongue," Jazelle stated.
"That's 3 points for the Goats!" Chris announced.
Jazelle ran up to her team and high-fived them. Lightning hugged her.
"You did it! You didn't fail."
Jazelle rolled her eyes. "I'm not you."
"What kind is that?" Lightning asked.
"It's a smores bar. With gram cracker crumbs and marshmallow fluff."
"Oooooh."
"Want it? I'm on a strict diet."
Lightning frowned. "Starve yourself?"
"Eh, basically."
"Girl, you're as thin as a pretzel rod. You need to get some sha-weight on your bones."
"Well, I don't need you looking out for me," Jazelle said.
Lightning nodded. "Okay..."
"Round 8!" Chris announced. "Who's going up?"
"I'm the final one for Roosters," Scott said.
"Same here!" Jasmine replied.
"I'll go," Cody said. "I'm not the last... but."
"Head up to the cabins!" Chris ordered. "I spy, with my little eye, something in the shape of a cube."
They rushed into the cabins.
"Are you running out of ideas?" Heather questioned.
"Shush!" Chris demanded.
Jasmine busted out of the door holding a little gift box.
"Jasmine scores a point for the Catfish!"
"What's inside this?" Jasmine asked.
"Look inside."
Jasmine opened up the box. "It's a little teddy bear inside!"
Chris smiled as Cody and Scott came back out. "Final round before we take a break! Roosters and Catfish can pick anybody they want."
"Who is going up?" Harold asked. "Cameron, Sierra, and Zoey are left."
"I'm willing to go!" Cameron said
"Are you sure?" Zoey asked. "They're able to put up their strongest players this round."
"I got this! Don't worry, I won't let you down." Cameron stated.
"We need our best finders!" Jo stated. "All we have are 2 points."
"Right, which I and Dawn got," Sammy stated.
"You're up, Sammy." Sky said. "We believe in you!"
"Don't make us regret it," Jo warned.
Sammy Confessional:
"I'm not going to go from Amy's controlling and selfish ways to Jo's bossy stubbornness! Besides, I have more important things to worry about. Like Dawn."
"Calm down, Jo!" Dawn snapped. "At least she got us a point. You can do this, Sammy!"
Jo gasped. "Excuse me?"
"Don't get all tough with me, Jo! Don't forget that I can jinx your entire future! If you hurt someone I care about, I will make you burn!"
"So, Carrie did a great job of finding the pillow. Wanna go again?" Lindsay asked.
"Sure... I don't mind."
"Everyone agrees?" Lindsay questioned. "Okay! Good luck!"
Chris cleared his throat. "Okay, who is going up?"
"I will!" Cameron said.
"I'm doing it for Roosters," Sammy stated.
"Me for Catfish," Carrie said.
"Head up to your cabins!" Chris demanded. "I spy, with my little eye, something with scratchy texture. Like sandpaper."
They rushed into the cabins.
"Hey, Lightning." Zoey advanced. "Do you... uh... like Jazelle?"
"No way! We're just friends!"
Zoey raised an eyebrow. "So, why do you really care for her?"
"I don't know, cause she's hot and smart and strong and fun and makes me all warm inside."
Zoey nodded her head. "That warm feeling? That's called love. Maybe you should talk to her tonight."
Sammy opened the door with a silver glittered ribbon. "I got it!"
Dawn, Sky, Mike, Owen, and Scott cheered.
"That's what I call a tied game!" Chris announced. "It's three all!"
