Chris was standing on a dock with two interns holding electric fans up to him as the contestants arrived.
"You still have interns?" Gwen questioned. "I thought they all died when Wawanakwa sunk."
"They did!" Chris exclaimed with zero hesitation. "I got new ones."
The interns looked at each other and gulped.
"Anyways, I have a very special announcement!" Chris said. "We're doing a team switch up!"
"But didn't we already have one?" Harold asked. "Sky went to the Crying Catfish."
"Well, after getting a very… threatening note from a certain contestant… I have decided to let the Roosters take a Catfish for their team."
"Is that even fair?" Emma asked.
"My show!" Chris yelled. "Roosters, go ahead and take a little-"
"We want Carrie on our team!" Courtney interrupted. "She'll be a great contribution to us."
Carrie Confessional:
"Wait.. what? Why do they want me? Do they really think I'm a valuable player? I'm confused but thrilled!"
"Okay! Carrie is now on the Running Rooster's team! Go ahead and say your goodbyes."
The Catfish, except for Heather and Sky, hugged around her.
"Good luck, Carrie!" Jasmine said. "We'll miss you."
"Don't get voted out." Emma reminded her. "Because you'll make us sad!"
They stopped the hug as Carrie looked over to Heather. Heather's arms were wide opened for a hug as Carrie walked up. They hugged each other and smiled.
"Thank you for everything." Heather said. "You've helped make me stronger than ever."
"It was worth it." Carrie stated. "You're a good person and I'm glad you're showing it and using that side of yourself. You're strong."
"That was so touching." Chris said. "But that's not what this show is about. Carrie, move it! Now!"
"Hey man!" Devin yelled. "Don't yell at her like that. She's going at her own pace."
Everyone gasped. They never saw him like this before.
"Pipe down, Devin!" Chris demanded. "Or else you're out."
"I'd watch your back, Chris." Blaineley said. "You just admitted to people being killed on your watch."
Jazelle smirked. "Anything you say on TV can be used against you."
"Yeah." Sky barged in. "You used my audition tape against me."
Chris shrugged. "I think it's time to start the challenge. Today you'll be creating bizarre movie scenes that are either downright dramatic or sweet and romantic. You'll need four actors from your team. Two of these actors CAN'T be dating but will HAVE to kiss!"
Sierra's eyes lit up. "Does-"
"No Sierra, you and Cody are not allowed to kiss each other. Y'all are way too close to dating."
Sierra sighed. "Okay…"
"In front of your cabins are trailers. One for each team. In those trailers is makeup, wardrobe, and a monitor for us to show you guys updates for the challenge and a timer."
"I love makeup!" Lindsay yelled.
Gwen glared over at her. "I thought you lost your memory."
"I did! But it's makeup!"
"Is there any air conditioning in the trailers?" Sammy asked.
"We had trouble ripping them out, so sadly yes." Chris replied as he looked down at his watch. "It's about noon-ish. I want you all to make an extra copy of your script for me to have. There's paper and pen at the Main Lodge."
"When does the challenge end?" Cody asked.
"You have four hours to complete everything. You must write scripts, pick out props, rehearse, pick out a stage, and do wardrobe and make up in that time."
"How do we get props?" Scott questioned.
"You have to go to the Main Lodge and into the supply room." Chris explained. "While getting props, you'll see a bulletin board on the wall with 6 sets to choose from. You'll perform your scenes at 5 tonight and will have to finish getting ready at 4. This is so we can get the sets set up for you guys. Any questions?"
"How do we get the props to our sets?" Bridgette asked.
"You'll select your props and put them on your assigned table in the Main Lodge. DJ will bring them on the sets for you guys. Anything else?"
The contestants stood there with no expression.
"No? Okay! Your challenge starts… now!"
The teams split away from each other.
Chris looked at the interns. "Don't worry about the other interns, their contracts said that they couldn't sue us and their families couldn't do anything about it. Your's say the same."
"Okay guys, how are we doing leadership?" Blaineley asked.
Jazelle looked around the group and put her finger on her nose. "Not it!"
The other contestants did it except for Kitty.
"I wasn't ready!" Kitty said.
"You're in charge, pigtails!" Lightning exclaimed.
Kitty rolled her eyes. "Do I have to be?"
"You can't cheat the rules of the not it game." Cody reminded her.
"You got this!" Devin cheered.
Kitty sighed. "Fine. Let's head to the Main Lodge I suppose. We can look at the sets so we already have a place in mind for our scene."
"What about the kiss?" Devin asked. "It's mandatory."
"I'm open to give Jazelle a little smooch." Lightning stated.
Jazelle pushed him back a little. "Don't get your hopes up. I'd rather eat a couple oranges and I'm allergic to citrus."
"I'm not kissing anybody." Harold stated. "These lips are for Leshawna."
"We'll figure that out later." Kitty said. "Now we should hurry. We don't have enough time."
"Okay," Sammy began. "We're a team with no leader! Thank god! So, what should we do first?"
"Let's just head back to the trailer and get started." Carrie suggested. "That'll be the easiest thing to do for the challenge."
The team nodded except for Courtney. "I'm not sure about that."
"Why?" Sammy asked. "Seems like a solid plan to me."
"What if we followed the Goats." Courtney suggested. "They look like they know exactly what they're doing."
"So instead of leading our own team, we're following a team?" Scott asked.
Courtney shrugged.
"That's fine with me." Dawn said.
"Can we get more soft serve?" Owen asked.
"If we win the challenge, we can go and celebrate with it." Carrie suggested.
Mike nodded. "That sounds great, but first thing is first, follow the Goats!"
Bridgette began taking control of the team. She wasn't very bossy and tried her best with the team.
"Let's split up." Bridgette said. "Trent, what if you headed to the Main Lodge and wrote down the six different set pieces."
Trent smiled and nodded. "I can get that done."
"Great! Now, make sure you also get enough paper for us to write scripts! Gwen can go with you. I need her to look at the props and see how good they are."
"Fine with me." Gwen responded.
"Okay, Emma, can go grab her notebook and we can also work with that."
"I'm sorry, but that notebook is kinda a private journal. So I don't really feel comfortable with that."
Gwen chuckled. "Wow! Heather gave somebody a private journal. The irony."
Heather glared at her but Gwen patted her back.
"I'm just kidding." Gwen mentioned.
"Um, Emma, do you have a spare notebook anywhere?" Bridgette asked, getting back onto topic.
"I do! I can grab one of those."
"So that's what we'll do. Emma, Gwen, and Trent, meet us inside the cast trailer. We'll be in there and begin planning out some ideas."
"Okay, what can I do?" Sky asked.
"Uh… you can help us plan and stuff. Okay, on three, chant Catfish! Hands in the middle."
"That's a little too tacky for me." Heather stated, backing away from the group.
Bridgette gave Heather a side-eye.
"On second thought, why not?" Heather said putting her hand on the others.
"3...2...1… CATFISH!" Everyone chanted.
Sky Confessional:
"I already know that I'll be going out soon. But not today! I will get farther than Jo by at least more than one episode!"
The Goats walked into the Main Lodge, seeing only Chef Hatchet in the building.
"Hey, Chef Hatchet!" Blaineley greeted. "How have you been lately?"
"On the verge of murder. Wanna be the victim?" Chef asked with a vague smile.
"Sir," Jazelle stepped in. "Have you tried therapy?"
"The guy quit after my second visit." Chef stated. "How's the big apple?"
"It's polluted, like you're food. Now, listen closely, I'm not scared of you, we're busy, and quite frankly, nobody could bother to make time for you. So please, scoot out of the way."
Chef threw a plate at the wall, shattering it. "I'm taking a vacation!"
He stormed out of the Main Lodge as DJ rushed out of the kitchen. "Is everyone okay?"
"Chef… got mad." Zoey explained.
"I'll go sweep this up." DJ said looking at the pile on the ground. "Be careful where you guys step."
The door opened, as the Roosters came in.
"Whoa… what happened here?" Scott asked.
"Chef shattered a plate." Kitty responded walking over to the bulletin board. "Goats, come here."
The Goats team walked over to Kitty. The selection of sets were a living room, a coffee shop, a scary dungeon, an evil science lab, a movie theater, and a park.
"So," Kitty began. "What are we going to go with?"
"You pick!" Lightning said. "You're the leader."
"But give me ideas! Suggestions." Kitty insisted.
"What if we got creative and recreated the scene where they captured Scarlett in Pahkitew Island? In the evil lab!" Zoey suggested.
"But there was no kiss." Devin mentioned. "What about the coffee shop? It could be romantic."
"We could do a proposal!" Kitty exclaimed. "Let's head back to the trailer! Blaineley, can you go get me 20 sheets of lined paper?"
Blaineley rolled her eyes. "Whatever, I'm on it."
The Goats walked away from the bulletin board as the Roosters went to look at it.
"That one is spooky!" Owen said pointing to the dungeon. "We should do that one!"
"It does look kinda cool." Courtney said.
"Let's do it!" Sammy exclaimed. "We can make it seem like we're being held captive or something. By an evil prince."
"Okay! Let's get some paper and hurry on out of here!" Carrie said as they walked away for the board.
Trent and Gwen walked in together and looked around.
"Looks busy here." Gwen observed. "Let's get this done."
Trent nodded. "I'll copy down sets, you look at props!"
Gwen and Trent nodded to each other and went their separate ways. Courtney walked up to Trent while he was at the bulletin board.
"Where's the rest of your team?" Courtney asked. "Did something happen?"
Trent shrugged. "Nah, everything is fine."
"Everyone is getting along?" Courtney questioned a little surprised. "I thought you guys were upset with each other. Like with Heather and Alejandro and such."
"We're doing fine, Courtney." Trent insisted. "Besides, ever since we found out what happened to Lindsay, we've been like family."
Courtney nodded and smiled. "Well, good luck." Then she walked away.
Courtney Confessional:
"What do you mean they're doing okay!? We took Carrie so they'd fall apart! Dang it! We should've taken Lindsay!"
DJ led Gwen to the storage room.
"And… here you go." DJ began with a smile. "Any props you collect, just bring to me and I can put them up for you."
Gwen nodded. "Thank you! I will."
DJ left the room as Gwen began searching in the room.
"It certainly smells in here!" Gwen complained. "Is this the trash from the junk pile?"
She moved some stuff around in the storage room. "Well, there's definitely nothing but crap in here." She left the room and ran into Trent who was picking up papers.
"Ready to go?" Gwen asked.
Trent nodded. "Yep! Let's get out of here."
DJ opened the door for them as the Main Lodge cleared out. "You two crazy kids have fun." He said.
Gwen and Trent smiled.
"Will do, man." Trent responded. "Later."
The Goats opened up the door to their trailer. The AC was already running and it was actually very comfortable. It wasn't like a normal trailer with makeup and such, but instead it had carpeting and couches and bean bag chairs. Along with a plastic tote filled with costumes and old clothes.
"This place is nice!" Lightning exclaimed.
A rush of cool air went onto their faces as they stepped inside. After getting in and everyone sitting down, Zoey closed the door behind them.
"I've missed a good couch." Jazelle said as she hugged one of the decorative pillows.
Kitty turned on the monitor and sat down next to Jazelle. "Okay guys, we've decided on a proposal at a coffee shop! Now who wants to act?"
Blaineley and Harold rose their hands.
"Seriously? Only 2 of you?"
"We don't even have roles yet." Jazelle mentioned.
Kitty buried herself into her hands. "Why aren't you guys working with me?"
"You're the leader." Blaineley reminded her.
Kitty rolled her eyes. "Well, not by choice!"
The contestants sat in silence for a moment.
"We don't have much time." Kitty barked, breaking the silence. "Devin and Jazelle will be doing the kiss and Harold and Blaineley can be the background actors."
"I can't do that!" Devin exclaimed. "Carrie would be mad at me."
Kitty rolled her eyes again. "Fine! Jazelle and Lightning will do that scene together."
"How are we going to do it, though? Like the scene?" Jazelle asked.
"You both will walk in and sit down at your table. Then Blainely will walk over and take your order. Jazelle and Lightning will talk for a minute, Harold will come with the food, then Lightning will propose."
"That's way too boring." Jazelle said. "There should be some type of twist!"
"Like what?" Kitty asked.
"What if we move Blaineley's spot." Jazelle suggested.
"Figures that you wouldn't want me in the scene!" Blaineley quipped. "I knew you still didn't like me! You're just so stuck up sometimes."
"Are you finished?" Jazelle asked.
Blaineley rolled her eyes. "Yeah"
"Great!" Jazelle said. "Anyways, I was thinking that we could do the scene like this, Lightning and Blaineley walk into the coffee shop, get their order taken by Harold, then Lightning proposes. Blaineley says no, and then after she walks out of the shop, I walk in and say something along the lines of, 'Didn't work out, baby? Let's take this to my place.'"
Kitty nodded her head, intrigued by the idea. As Blaineley sat back in the beanbag chair, embarrassed by her outburst.
"So, after you come in and say that, you guys kiss?" Kitty asked.
Jazelle nodded.
"Let's do it!" Kitty exclaimed. "Harold, could you please go reserve the coffee shop set? We'll start working on scripts."
Harold smiled. "I'm on it."
The Roosters relaxed into their trailer and were spitting out ideas.
"If we're in a dungeon, why don't we act like people are trapped or something." Owen suggested.
Carrie patted his shoulder. "That's pretty obvious, but thanks for the help!"
"So, let's have two people trapped in the dungeon." Scott began. "There can be an evil king who rules the country and somebody else can play a guard."
"What made you think of that?" Sammy asked.
Scott smiled. "Comic books." He replied simply.
"Let's make it where the couple is dying from dehydration and starvation while they're trapped." Dawn started. "The evil king won't let them out and they decide to share one last kiss before they both die together."
"That's really dark!" Owen exclaimed. "What made you think to do that?"
"Well, that's how Staci's great great great great great great great Uncle and Aunt died. Well in a similar way. They were both 19 an-"
"Babe." Sammy stopped her. "That's a bit too much."
Dawn nodded and rested her head on Sammy's shoulder.
"Anyway, we need actors for our scene." Carrie reminded them. "Why don't we have Scott be the evil king! Then Owen can be the guard."
"Well, Dawn and Sammy can't kiss each other." Mike mentioned. "So, I'm kissing someone?"
"I'll do it." Sammy volunteered.
Dawn picked her head up off of Sammy's shoulder and looked at her. Sammy didn't notice the betrayed look on Dawn's face.
Dawn Confessional:
"Excuse me, what? Sammy and I are bisexual, but our relationship just began LAST NIGHT! It's way too soon for me."
"Well, I'll do it if Dawn's okay about it." Sammy said looking over to her.
Dawn was shocked. "It's fine. It's only acting."
Dawn Confessional:
"Why am I so scared? Sammy and I love each other and Mike and Zoey are perfect. I'm not the best at commitment and this is my first relationship since fourth grade. His name was Fredrick Anderson and we broke up after he ruined an ant hill during recess. It was a good 3 hour relationship though."
"Okay, great!" Courtney exclaimed. "Let's start writing!"
Trent opened the door for Gwen as they climbed into the cool trailer.
"This place feels great!" Trent exclaimed, handing Bridgette the list of sets.
"We got to thinking." Bridgette said. "We wanted to do some sort of family scene. But Heather suggested that we'd perform a couple of stunts."
"Stunts could really help us with the scores." Heather said. "And Jasmine knows how to do some stunts after she opened up her kickboxing flower shop with Shawn's money."
"So like a family gathering with stunts?" Gwen asked. "Like a fight?"
"We could do that!" Emma exclaimed. "We can do it where there's an abusive father, Trent, and he abuses his family."
"Trent is a father? How old is he?" Lindsay asked.
"It's acting, Lindsay. And I don't want to hurt anyone." Trent said. "That's out of my comfort zone."
"That's why it's stunts!" Jasmine said. "We can make it look real, but nobody gets hurt."
"Besides," Bridgette began. "The more drama, the more that Chris will enjoy it..."
"...And the more Chris enjoys it, the better the chances are of us winning." Heather said, finishing Bridgette's sentence. "So now, we need to figure actors and a set."
Bridgette skimmed through the list of sets. "There's a living room! Let's go with that!"
Trent nodded and took the paper back. "So now we need to figure out actors and actresses and then we can begin writing the script."
Bridgette nodded. "Let's have a cast of two daughters, a mother, and Trent, the father."
"Bridgette," Gwen started. "What if you and I were the daughters."
"Okay!" Bridgette exclaimed. "Then let's have… Emma be the mother!"
Emma nodded. "That's fine with me. But is it fine with Gwen?"
"I'm okay with it." Gwen said. "Besides, it's all acting!"
Sky Confessional:
"I'm such an outsider here! I know that if we lose this challenge, I'm out! I have to think of something and fast!"
