With Chris gone, Blaineley's plan was smoothly unfolding. She grabbed her flashlight from her bag and put on a jacket before she headed out of the cabin.
"Where are you going?" Jasmine questioned.
"To the bathroom! Dinner gave me some really explosive diarrhea." Blaineley exclaimed as she left the cabin.
Eva and Heather met Blaineley outside of their cabin, and began heading towards the kitchen.
"DJ has the hard drives for you." Heather said. "He'll let you two into Chris' office and then him and I will go into his trailer and start moving stuff. Anything we find, we'll keep for you. But DJ has a list of rules for you, to make sure you don't mess anything up in his office."
"Please, we don't need DJ to make rules for us." Eva yelled.
"Uh… yes you do. Or else this entire operation will be canceled." Heather argued. "And keep your voice down."
"Eva, the rules that DJ made will probably be common sense and it's best if we just go with his flow." Blaineley said. "If it wasn't for DJ, I wouldn't… we wouldn't be able to do this."
Eva crossed her arms. "Fine."
DJ sat down at one of the tables in the Main Lodge. His hands were trembling with how nervous he was. He looked down at his list, to make sure he didn't miss anything important. Then he got up to look in Chris' office for cameras.
DJ Confessional:
"I don't like snooping around like this! Momma would be so disappointed in me if she saw what I was doing. But Blaineley has blackmail on us, and I already know that Heather would be kicked off of the show if Chris knew."
Eva opened the door to the Main Lodge, which startled DJ.
"Don't worry, DJ." Blaineley said. "It's just us."
DJ sighed and grabbed the list. Heather noticed how his hands were shaking.
"DJ, do you need to sit down?" Heather asked. "Blaineley go get him a cup of water."
"I'm okay, Heather." DJ insisted, sitting down. "I just don't feel right doing this."
"Nobody feels right when they're digging up dirt on someone." Eva said.
"But you have to remember who we're dealing with." Heather added. "This is Chris! You'll be getting the justice that the interns, our friends, and everyone else deserves. You're doing the right thing here."
DJ Confessional:
"Heather is right! Chris has been using us for years and now is our time to get back at him. It's not revenge, it's simply exposing the truth about him."
"I can read the list if you want." Heather said, looking it over.
DJ nodded as Blaineley brought him a drink of water. "That'd be helpful."
Heather stood up in front of Eva and Blaineley. "Okay, rule number one: before you add something to the hard drives, remember to make a copy of it on Chris's computer. Two: take photos of the original contracts all you want, but don't take them. Extra copies can be saved. Three: don't forget to look at video footage and his emails with the network. Four: don't send anything to anyone from Chris' computer and don't log into your personal information on his computer. Lastly, five: any calls made to his office phone will be ignored."
"Got it!" Blaineley said. "Eva and I will go into his office and start searching. Heather, you can go help DJ move things from the trailer. And if you think of any more spots, let us know."
"Actually I have another spot in mind." Heather said. "Eva, there should be a box in the hideout underneath the dock. We saw it in the clown challenge!"
"Got it!" Eva said as she left the Main Lodge and Blaineley entered Chris' office.
Heather looked over at DJ who had finished his water, his hands still trembling.
"Hey, it's okay DJ." Heather said, sitting down at the table. She took his trembling hands in hers. "I know you're uncomfortable with this, but we're doing this for the right reasons."
"I can't believe what my mom would think of this." DJ said.
Heather looked up at DJ. "Can I see your phone?"
DJ, without hesitation, took his phone out of his pocket and handed it to her.
"I'm going to call her for you." Heather said. "You might be mad at me at first, but this will help you."
DJ sighed and let Heather call Momma DJ.
"Hello?" Heather asked. "This is Heather, a friend of DJ's. No, he's not hurt, he's fine. Yeah, I wanted to call you because we're currently doing something that he's afraid you wouldn't approve of. N-No madam. We're not doing that. We're friends. Do you mind if I put you on speaker phone? Okay, uhuh."
Heather placed the phone in front of DJ and turned his speaker phone on.
"Hi Momma." DJ mumbled out of his anxiousness.
"Boy, don't you mumble to me! Speak up! Now tell me what is going on." Momma DJ demanded over the phone.
Heather sat her arms on the table and leaned in towards the phone. "Well you see-"
"Not you!" Momma interrupted. "DJ, tell me what happened."
"We're currently digging up dirt on someone, to take them down. They're a criminal but I feel as if I'm betraying you in the process." DJ said.
"Who are you trying to take down?" Momma asked.
"Chris McLean. We can get him prison time for all of his crimes. But it's the process of getting all of this evidence together." DJ responded.
"Don't you ever think that you standing up for yourself and others would disappoint me!" Momma exclaimed. "You're not going to upset me because you're doing the right thing."
"That's nice to hear, mom." DJ said. "Thank you for making me feel better."
"No problem. Anything else?" Momma asked.
"Uhm, yeah. I have a girlfriend." DJ exclaimed.
"Who is she?" Momma questioned.
"I'm in love with my lovely girl, Heather." DJ blushed, holding her hand.
"Heather? You love her?" Momma asked.
"Yeah. Is that a problem?" DJ asked.
"No, she's okay. But I always thought you'd go for someone nice. Like Bridgette or Lindsay."
"Momma, I'm not a homewrecker." DJ argued.
"And with all due respect, Ms. Momma, I love your son. He's sweet, strong, and humble. The way he looks into my eyes makes me feel different. I have never loved someone in the way that I love him. I understand my past and how I was. But I like to think that I changed, and DJ is a big part of that. You may not like us together now, but he has won over my heart and I'll make sure that I win over yours. I've always admired you and I don't want to hurt DJ or hurt you. It is not my intention to take him away from you."
Momma DJ sighed. "That's all I wanted to hear. Thank you, darling."
"I love you, Mom." DJ said.
"I love you too my Poopy Doo. Goodnight."
DJ smiled, looking up at Heather. "Goodnight!"
"Goodnight Ms. Momma." Heather said as DJ hung up. "That was unexpected."
"What was?" DJ asked.
"You telling your mom about us. It was sweet." Heather blushed.
"Not as sweet as you professing your love for me… again." DJ smirked.
"Well, it's easy to tell the same lie twice." Heather said as she kissed DJ on the lips.
"Yeah, okay." DJ laughed. "We should get to work in Chris' trailer."
"Guys! I found something!" Eva exclaimed, walking into the Main Lodge. She had the box in her hands from the PGA hideout.
"What is it?" Blaineley asked, walking out of his office.
"These are random video hard drives." Eva said. "And on the inside, the box flap is labeled 'IMPORTANT CONFESSIONALS'."
DJ brought out his computer and set it on the table.
"They're labeled." Heather said, pulling a hard drive out of the box. "This one is Zoey's confessional from yesterday."
"Play it." Blaineley said, taking the hard drive from Heather and plugging it into DJ's computer.
Zoey's voice came from the computer, repeating her confessional from yesterday. "What Eva is telling us is very fishy. The three people who can debunk her claims are the ones that are out of the cabin. Lightning, Jazelle, and Dawn! I'll be keeping an eye on both her and Blaineley. Not sure how to connect Blaineley to the problem but she just can't be trusted."
"She's suspicious of us!" Eva exclaimed. "That's not good."
"No, no it isn't." Blaineley responded.
"Here's one from Lindsay!" Eva said, grabbing from the box.
"Why would Chris keep one of Lindsay's confessionals?" Heather asked.
"I don't know." Eva smirked. "Let's try it."
DJ Confessional:
"As soon as Eva pulled that out, I knew what she was up to. Trust me, I wanted to tell Heather about Lindsay but that would be classified as cheating!"
"Pity will be my power. If I can get people to feel sorry for me, they'll keep me around longer. Especially Emma! I knew she disliked me from the beginning. Thinking I was too dumb to lead the team. Well I'd watch your back, because I'm coming after you! And this? This is all for Tyler! They took my rock and threw him out, so that's exactly what I'm going to do with their game. Sweet dreams, everyone!" Lindsay said from the video file.
"She's been lying!" Heather gasped. "I'd give her props, but that's just cruel!"
Heather Confessional:
"I don't get it! What is she up to and why? This isn't like her and I miss the old Lindsay."
"Wait, didn't Lindsay fall into the water and suddenly regain her memory?" DJ asked.
"Yeah… unless she faked it!" Blaineley noted. "Bridgette is going to be so angry when she finds out! Lindsay almost drowned her and if it wasn't for Mike, Zoey, and Jazelle…"
"...then Bridgette would've probably died." Heather finished.
"But we can't worry about telling Bridgette quite yet. This operation needs to stay discrete until we have our evidence and another solid plan to take her down." Eva said.
"Well I will go with DJ so he can get started." Heather began. "I can take this box of confessionals, copy them to DJ's computer, and then save them on one of the bigger hard drives. But only the ones that prove Lindsay is lying or Chris doing an illegal act."
DJ grabbed Heather's hand and his computer as they walked out of the Main Lodge together.
"I will tackle Chris' computer." Blaineley said. "Can you look through his files and find the original contracts?"
"I guess." Eva scoffed. "I'll do anything to see McLean in shackles one day."
Blaineley and Eva walked into his office, with Blaineley sitting at his desk and Eva behind her going through his filing cabinets.
"What is Zennco?" Blaineley asked as she clicked on the icon.
"It's a document editor." Eva said, finding Blaineley's two contracts. "These contracts aren't similar at all!"
"Whose are they?"
"Your's." Eva replied, handing her the contracts.
"The one I signed said I was supposed to make two thousand an episode!" Blaineley exclaimed. "And there it is!"
Eva looked where Blaineley was pointing, then looked at the other printed contract. "That's not in here at all."
"It also says I'm allowed to use any personal device on the island." Blaineley pointed out.
"Looks like we have a case of first degree forgery. 7 years minimum in prison with the severity of this." Eva smiled.
"That's great! But we need to gather evidence on this so I can send it to Ronny." Blaineley said. "How do the contracts and this app relate though?"
"Type in 'Blaineley's Contract' in the doc finder." Eva said, pointing at the computer screen.
"There, now what?" Blaineley asked.
"My goodness, granny! Click it and look at the tool bar on the left." Eva yelled.
Blaineley rolled her eyes. "I can type on it. Big deal."
Eva used the mouse to select the 'Signature Scan' button. "Okay now I have to hold your signature in front of the computer's camera so it can scan it."
"What kind of tech is this?" Blaineley asked. "And why are you so familiar with it?"
"Don't worry about it." Eva barked.
"Okay it's done." Blaineley said as Eva pulled the signature away. "Wow! It's just a PNG of my signature."
Eva took the mouse again. "Right, and we can drag this thing right where your signature line is."
Blaineley compared the printed contract to the one that Eva and herself made. "They're the same. So that's how Chris did it."
Eva pulled out her phone and snapped a photo. "Okay, now go to his 'app use history' and see when and why he used it."
"Got it!" Blaineley said as she pulled up another tab.
"Heather, what are you doing?" DJ asked. Heather was sitting on Chris' bed looking at the list he had made for DJ.
"I've packed up his hygiene products that he doesn't use, his extra blankets, his lotion and toilet paper, his wig collection, his phonebook, his badminton racket, his 2 Gemmy awards, his giant thing of bubble gum, and his blow dryer all in these six boxes." Heather said. "I just have to finish packing away his thin mint stash, his combs, his watches, and his spare phone. Which I have yet to go through."
"You're a lifesaver!" DJ exclaimed, kissing her on the cheek.
"I try to be." Heather smirked. "Unless you're Alejandro."
"Can we not talk about your ex?" DJ asked, looking up at her. "Why waste your lips saying his name, when you can kiss me instead."
DJ leaned in for a kiss, but Heather put her finger on his lips to stop him. "That was really cringy. You're cute, but please don't say that again."
DJ blushed as Heather moved her finger away and kissed him.
"I'll finish boxing these up for you." Heather said. "Just take these six for now."
DJ smiled and grabbed the boxes. "Thank you for your help, Heather."
"Okay, Eva." Blaineley began. "I have looked at his 'app use history'. We signed the contracts on June 13th and he was very active at the time. Looks like everyone has had little tweaks."
"Great!" Eva exclaimed as she grabbed Blaineley's phone. "I'll film you while you show and tell the camera what you see."
"Hey everybody! It's Blaineley here and today we're digging dirt up on Chris! It'll be fun, so come along with us! So funny story, Eva and I signed into his computer and found this little app called Zennco. It's a very cool app and I'd love if you would spon-"
"Blaineley!" Eva yelled. "Cut the dumb hosting talk!"
Blaineley sighed. "So we looked through his computer and Chris changed all of our contracts on this day, June 17th. Just four days after we signed them."
Eva zoomed onto the dates, then zoomed back out to Blaineley.
"Here, we have two different contracts of mine. One with my real signature in pen. And the other with a PNG of my signature that Chris has on a file on his computer. If we look closer into this, we see that Chris printed this off June 18th the day after he changed the contract. Now I know what you're thinking.' How do we know that Eva and I didn't set this up?' Well if you recall in the first episode, Chris' lawyers make extra copies of all of his contracts."
Eva got up from the computer and went to his files. "And as you can see here, there's multiple contracts that were printed with the tool Zennco. We have Cameron, Carrie, Cody, and Courtney all in this drawer. And as you can see for four people, there's at least 80 contracts in here."
"The last thing to talk about is what the contracts say. The first paragraph of the contract I signed says, 'Blaineley Stacey Andrews O'Halloran is entitled to and will receive 2,000 dollars per Total Drama Ultimate episode that airs on TV. That is 80,000 dollars with her name on it, that is guaranteed to go to her. If she wins the game, she may keep the 10 million dollars, and all personal devices are allowed on the Island, Film Lot, and any show locations.' To prove I'm not lying, here is the contract for you to read."
Blaineley placed the contract on the desk for Eva to film. Blaineley grabbed one of her fake contracts and began to read it aloud.
"The one that I didn't sign reads, 'Mildred is not receiving any money for appearing on the show, even if she wins the money. If she wins the game, her money will go directly to me. Mildred's and only Mildred's personal devices will be prohibited from use. I can throw her devices in the lake, to my convenience." Blaineley read, setting it down for Eva to film. "There is no way I'd allow Chris to take my winnings and he used Mildred. There's not a chance that I'd sign this. Chris McLean forged my signature to abuse me and scam me."
Eva turned off the video and saved it. "Well done, partner. I think we have everything that we need from here."
"It's getting late." Blaineley said, reviewing the footage. "I'll look over this tonight and edit it up to standards."
"What time is it?" Eva asked.
"It's 3:58." Blaineley answered. "Let's clean up what we touched and get back to the cabins."
Heather greeted DJ as he came back from his final trip. "I went through his email account. I couldn't find anything too helpful, shockingly. But I'll come back later and look through it again."
DJ nodded. "That sounds great! I just got a call from Blaineley. They got some good evidence that they'll show us later."
"See, this isn't fun?" Heather asked, setting the phone back and closing the drawer.
DJ was still unsure about the whole plan. "Not sure fun is the word I'd use."
Heather kissed him on the cheek. "Let's get some rest. Come with me, you can walk me to bed."
"I still need to go to the Main Lodge." DJ responded. "Make sure Blaineley and Eva cleaned up correctly."
Heather looked at her phone as they left Chris' trailer and locked it. "It's now 4:13 in the morning. I can walk myself if you need me to."
"That's nonsense, I can walk you to your cabin." DJ insisted, taking Heather's hand.
Heather took his hand and sighed as he walked her to her cabin. "I wish we didn't have to keep this a secret."
DJ grasped her hand tighter and pulled her closer. "Me too, baby. But it's only been like two days. Let's not Romeo and Juliet this."
"But Romeo and Juliet is so disgustingly romantic." Heather argued.
"Romeo drinks poison because he thinks Juliet is dead, then when Juliet wakes up and sees that Romeo consumed poison…"
"...she stabs herself." Heather finished. "That sounds romantic!"
DJ laughed and shook his head. "Which part? The poison or the dagger?"
"Stop talking." Heather said, hugging him. "We'll take this as slow as possible. Because slow and steady always wins the race… unless the hare isn't too cocky."
