Chris had called everyone from each team to the clearing in front of the cabins. But Chris wasn't there.
"Are we doing a challenge today or not?" Eva asked. "We've been standing here for almost 20 minutes!"
"Relax, Eva." Trent said. "Chris will show up any minute now."
"Campers! Welcome to today's little hide and seek challenge!" Chris announced over the speakers on the island. "This is how the challenge works: You guys will have thirty minutes to hide from our island's own dart shooting lunatic. After a half hour passes, Chef will come searching for you with sleep darts. He is hiding in my office until the half hour is up. First team to be found will lose the challenge and may face elimination!"
"May?" Jasmine asked.
"The half hour begins… now!"
The two teams turned away from each other and began walking in different directions.
"We have a half hour to brainstorm and hide." Harold said to the rest of the Jaguar team. "Let's think of some ideas."
"What if we separate from each other?" Mike suggested. "It'd be much harder for Chef to find us if we're all distanced and hidden."
"I don't think hiding like that is allowed." Sammy said. "I figure it'd be harder to hide as a group than to hide separately. Which is why Chris wants us to stay together."
"So where's a big enough place for us all to hide?" Carrie asked.
"We'll have to continue brainstorming I suppose." Trent said.
"I think the best thing we can do is to split up!" Sierra exclaimed. "Obviously it'd be much harder for Chef to find us if we're nowhere near each other and hidden well."
"Great idea!" Devin said. "Let's all split up now and hide!"
"Wait, shouldn't we all figure out hiding spots beforehand?" Jasmine asked. "It couldn't hurt to discuss and then hide."
"Sure! I'll hide in the hideout underneath the dock." Bridgette said.
"I'll hide in the Main Lodge supply room. Chef is currently in the office." Blaineley said.
"Perhaps I could sit out in the confessional?" Devin suggested.
"This is great and all, guys, but we need to get going. As long as we all have a place in mind, we can go hide." Jazelle said.
The Jaguars walked past the Main Lodge, with Harold checking his watch as they passed by.
"We have 20 minutes left to hide." Harold said. "Wait, I know a place we could go!"
"Where at?" Gwen asked.
"What if we hid in the jumbo jet?" Harold proposed. "We can all hide out in the cargo hold together."
"That's a good idea!" Heather exclaimed. "But it's on the other side of the island! We need to hurry up to get there."
Jazelle Confessional:
"Perhaps telling everyone to split up early was a bad idea. But merge should be around the corner and it's best to begin playing independently. It's me against everyone else!"
Scott Confessional:
"I now have a fresh perspective of what needs done for me to win! But if that means using a few old tactics… I'm not totally opposed to it."
Blaineley Confessional:
"I know people see me as weak and that's exactly what I need right now! Jazelle and a few others think they can throw me out whenever and that's why they're keeping me around. But little do they know anything about my plans. They're going to regret every decision they've made leading up to this point."
Dawn Confessional:
"I am feeling fantastic! With Jo and Sky gone, there are no longer any targets on my back and Scott and I are now in good graces with each other. From here on, it's me and Sammy to the end!"
Jasmine Confessional:
"I know I could use some more allies. I haven't made any enemies at all but I also have yet to get solid alliances. Carrie and Emma were my main friends but with Carrie on the other team and Emma gone, I have to change routes!"
Devin Confessional:
"I've been doing really well lately! Carrie and I have never been better and I think my team values me! I haven't made a big name for myself in the team yet and I honestly think that's been helpful so far."
Bridgette Confessional:
"I have never been more focused in this game than I am right now! My strategies have kept me in this game and this is just the beginning for me! Nobody is against me and I'm unpredictable!"
Sierra Confessional:
"It's the rise of me! Although I miss my boyfriend, this is my chance to be the star! All Stars was a wreck for me and I know it was because of my Cody withdrawals! But not this time. I'm stronger, smarter, and focused! This is the rise of Sierra!"
Harold Confessional:
"This is great! The team takes me seriously and I have power in this game. Now I must focus on keeping my powers on the down low, because power makes you a threat and I don't want to get out any time soon."
Heather Confessional:
"With Harold, Blaineley, Eva, and Bridgette on my side, I feel powerful and golden! Just like old times. But, I'm stronger and smarter and actually treating people with respect! That sounds really bad… but it's true! I'm more caring with my peers and I feel much better. I feel like people like me now."
Eva Confessional:
"Now that I'm here, I need to make the most of my game. That includes controlling my temper. I haven't played since the very first season and I only lasted 3 episodes. This time WILL be different."
Mike Confessional:
"With Zoey gone, I feel alone! But I know quite a few people here from Revenge of the Island, All Stars, and this season! Plus, having my personalities back is a game changer for me! I just hope I can keep them under proper control."
Sammy Confessional:
"I don't have much of a strategy right now. All I know is that Dawn and I are teammates to the end, and the best way to play the game right now is to go with the flow."
Trent Confessional:
"I've only been in 2 seasons of this show, and I know that this is my turn to win! I can feel it in my bones, but I'll need to make some big moves to get to the finals."
Carrie Confessional:
"I think taking things one step at a time is the best way to do well! Right now, I'm focused on working with Eva to get Lindsay out!"
Lindsay Confessional:
"I have no clue what Heather knows, but I need to get her off of my back! Admittedly, I went a little too far. But that doesn't mean she's allowed to target me."
Gwen Confessional:
"Currently, I'm just trying to not get caught by Chef. But for the long run of the game… I'm not sure."
Dawn walked through the forest, looking for a great place to hide. "Hm… where should I hide?"
She looked up and saw a squirrel looking at her.
"Hello, little one." Dawn greeted, climbing up to it. "Do you know a place for me to hide?"
The squirrel looked behind Dawn and pointed.
Dawn slid down the tree and looked behind herself. "What is it… oh…"
Chef was standing right behind her, with the sleep dart gun pointed at her.
"Hey Chef…"
"Peekaboo." Chef responded, shooting her in the leg with a sleep dart.
Dawn's eyes rolled to the back of her head, as she fell to the ground.
"Here we are, right at the Jumbo Jet." Harold exclaimed, opening the door for people to load in.
Gwen winced, and awkwardly danced around.
"What's wrong, Gwen?" Trent asked.
"I need to go to the ladies' room!" She exclaimed. "But Chef is circling the island by now!"
"It's your risk, Gwen." Eva said. "Do you think you can hold it?"
Gwen sighed. "No, I have to go now! I need to get to the bathroom."
"Be careful, Gwen." Trent said, climbing into the plane.
Scott jumped into a bush, hearing someone approaching. It was Gwen.
Chef seemed to follow right after Gwen, but first he spotted Scott in the bush.
Scott chuckled, and waved slowly. "Uh… Hi Chef."
Chef looked at him for another second and continued on.
"Oh my back!" Gwen yelled, with Scott hearing her fall to the ground.
He watched as Chef dragged Gwen away in the distance, with Chef looking back and making eye contact with Scott for a final time.
20 minutes passed, with everyone staying quiet and hidden. The silence was suddenly interrupted by Chris over the speakers.
"Hello campers! Report to the Main Lodge pronto! The game is off!"
