Kairi's pov.
I just sat in my car staring at the big building in front of me. I saw a lot of people walking in and out. Groups of people that knew each other and missed them over summer vacation. People who didn't know the way and there was me. I'm so nervous I couldn't move. I started to regret coming here. I was the weird girl that lived eight hours away!
Come on, Kairi, you can do this! You did this on purpose so you won't see anyone from your old school. So you won't see Zack or Rikku ever again. I took a few big breaths and stepped out my car. I surely spent twenty minutes just staring at the school, at the people walking by and having my thoughts running at max speed. I walked to my car trunk and opened it to reveal all my stuff I packed last night while crying. Wait I don't know my room yet. I closed it again and spun around, trying to see if I can find anything. I saw a big board with "New students go to the information desk." with a arrow underneath it. Great. I followed a group of girls that walked the same direction, and I saw a desk over their shoulders. "Hi, how can I help?" The lady asked. "Hi, I'm Kairi Hikairi, and I'm new to college." I said with a friendly smile. She typed something on the computer and she handed me a pile of papers."Welcome, Kairi, here is al the information you need. Enjoy your time!" She waved me away and I walked back to my car.
Let's see, my dorm was 201 and school would be starting next monday so we can get to know the building. The key was taped to my dorm file, and I hung it on my house keys. I grabbed the box I wanted earlier and went to the dorms. I bumped into something and I was knocked back. I felt a sore spot form on my butt. Great. "Ouch... I'm sorry." A manly voice said and I tilled my head up. A boy with a blue hoodie and some light brown shorts smiled down at me. He held out his hand so he could help me up. "I'm Tidus, are you new here?" He asked while pulling me up like I weight nothing. He had light blue eyes and half long blond hair. I nodded once I was up. He laughed. "come on, Don't be shy now." He said eyeing me. "Sorry, I'm Kairi and yes i'm new." I said and shook his his hand. I bend back down so I could grab my stuff. Tidus did the same and helped me gather all the stuff that got thrown all around. "Do you want any help with all your stuff?" he handed my stuffed animal over and I started to blush. "No thanks, I'm good." "If you say so, nice meeting you Kairi." He said smiling "Nice meeting you too Tidus." He walked off and waved.
I wandered to the elevator with my now messy box. I pushed the button and waited for the elevator to come down. I saw a girl running happily in a guys arms while he embraced her in a welcoming hug. The ding sound brought me to my sentence and I walked in going to the second floor.
I followed the numbers on the doors till I found mine. I opened the room and it was a lot bigger than I expected it. I saw two beds with each a nightstand and a lamp. a desk and a drawer for my clothes. We even had our private bathroom. Nice.
"Hi you must be my new roommate." A girly voice said and I met eyes with the voice. She had blond hair that she wore in a ponytail, she had beautiful eyes. grey with a little green. and she was the same height as me. "I'm Namine Nolan." she held out her hand and I set the box on the empty bed. "I'm Kairi Hikairi." I shook her hand and we both smiled. "Nice to meet you." I nodded. "Well don't be afraid to ask, I'm already a Sophomore." She winked and I thanked her. "Do you need any help with your stuff?" "That would be nice." We both went to my car.
We were done after half an hour. we took everything from my car to the room and I sat on my bed to take a short break before unpacking. Namine had left because she and her boyfriend would go on an ice cream date. She apologized like ten times that she couldn't help but it was really fine. I was glad I didn't have to walk as much as now to the car. "We will have dinner together she said running to the stairs. I didn't have time to say no because as fast as she said it, she was gone.
I had everything done and away when Namine and a boy walked in. "Look, this is my new roommate, Isn't she cute?" Namine pointed at me, and I feel my cheeks heat up. The boy gave me a warm smile and held out his hand. "I'm Roxas, Nice to meet you." He was tall, has spiky blond hair with ocean blue eyes. He is handsome but not the type I would date to be honest.
"I heard you're joining us for dinner right?" I nodded. "Well only if it's okay with you, I mean I don't want to bother." I stammered. Roxas held his hands up. "Don't worry, We like to get to know you." "No you won't bother us." Namine added and I smiled. "Are you sure?" "YES." She grabbed my arm. "Come on, we will show you around campus."
They dragged me all over the place, from the sports field to the library, to the campus shops. "And here we see our favorite place, the campus store." Roxas said with a funny voice. "They have the best cookies in the world." He said and Namine laughed. The two kept on telling me things about campus while I followed them. "Oh right, Kairi do you want pizza or burgers for dinner?" Namine asked out of the blue. "Pizza sounds nice." She nodded her head.
"On your right side you'll see our school building, booooo." Roxas kept going pretending we're on a tour." I rolled my eyes but in a good way. "So kairi tell us something about yourself." Namine said.
Crap what do I need to tell? Hi I'm kairi from Hollow Bastion? Oh why i moved so far away well i don't want to see people from my hometown oh and did you know i was almost pregnant but not really? I know right.
Namine snapped her fingers in front of my eyes. "Hello, earth to Kairi?" I snapped out my thoughts. Oh right the question. "What do you want to know?"
"Where are you from? ,we're from Twilight Town"
"Really?" I said they nodded and gave me a look that said 'are you too?'
"I'm from Hollow Bastion." I stammered and there eyes wided "Well what a coincidence, two friends of us are also from Hollow Bastion." My heart started to race. Two people from Hollow Bastion? It couldn't right? I mean i would have known right? Right?! I couldn't breathe anymore and Namine noticed. "Hey are you okay?" She patted my back. "Could you tell me their names?" I managed to asked between breaths. "Sora and Riku." Roxas said with a worried look. "Is something wrong?" Sora and Riku? I haven't heard of those names before. "You will meet them in a bit for dinner." Roxas said.
My breaths started to slow down and i nodded. "You had us worried there." Namine said and I let out a sigh.
It was now 6pm and i sat in the back of Roxas car with Namine next to him, they suggested to go to a pizza place just 20 minutes from our college and we would meet with the rest over there. "I can't wait to see Xion and Sora again!" Namine said happily. "Yea i missed them too, and I want to know if Sora or Riku won the bet." Roxas said and she nodded overly excited.
We came to a stop and we all unbuckled our seat belts. Namine rushed out the car towards the place. "Come on!" She shouted and Roxas chuckled. "Come on now Nam, wait for us!" But she was too far away, already searching for their friends.
I scanned the room, it was packed with students and the smell of fresh baked pizza filled my nose. I heard my stomach rumble. "Namine, roxas, hey!" A voice shouted and I saw a boy with long silver hair waving at us. "Riku!" Namine yelled and ran over for a hug. He laughed out loud and catches her in his arms. "Riku, my man how are you?" Roxas said while they did a handshake. "Good, good! Guess what, I won." He said proudly and namine rolled her eyes while Roxas patted him proudly on the back. Riku smiled from ear to ear but his smile changed in a flirty smirk when he sees me. "Well hello beautiful." He said winking at me. I started to blush but namine punched him in his arm. "Bad Riku! No, this is my new roommate not an other toy for you mister!" She said and he even held his head down in disappointment. "Yes mom." He said jokily and they all started to laugh.
"But seriously, what's your name?" He asked me still looking flirty but not as much. "I'm Kairi, nice to meet you." "A beautiful name for a beautiful girl, i see. I'm Riku." He says as he grabs my hand and kisses it. I don't know what to say or do but Namine comes whispering. "Don't worry he won't do anything, he just a flirty guy." I nodded and we all sat down at the table.
"Wait where are Xion and Sora?" Namine asked a little worried. "Not coming back till school starts." Riku casually said while folding his hand behind his head. "They wanted some more 'Alone' time." He said and making sure alone was sarcastic. "Well i miss them now even more." Namine says.
We all ordered a pizza and talked a lot, Riku never stopped making compliments or giving me his flirty smiles. I was a little surprised he was so flirty but on the other hand he was incredible handsome so it wasn't really weird.
"Kairi is also from Hollow Bastion, but you haven't met i think?" Roxas said and Riku put his hand over his heart. "Now I'm sad knowing i could spend my summer with a girl as gorgeous as you." I gave him a little smile while taking a bite of my pizza. "But now we can on school so I'm less sad." He winks and I blushed again. "Stop it Riku, maybe she has a boyfriend back at home." Namine said defending me. "I mean i wouldn't think it's weird, look at her, she is so cute." Namine adds and i almost choked on my pizza. "But mister boyfriend isn't here so i can still compliment her." Riku said while looking at me. "So Kairi, do you have a boyfriend or do i get a chance to cuddle with you tonight." He rest his head on his hand while staring me deep in the eye. Even Roxas and Namine wanted to know because they're leaning in.
"No, I'm single." They went silent for a good minute before Riku comes closer and warped his arm around my shoulder. "Well in that case." I took another bite and chewed it slowly. "I broke up last year with my now ex boyfriend." I added. "Why?" Namine asked. "My best friend and he cheated on me." I became a little sad and they changed some looks before they started to comfort me. "Don't worry, I think he was a dick for doing that but you will just be fine." Roxas said and the rest nodded in agreement.
We talked the rest of the night about the bet Riku won, apparently he and Sora. The boy i haven't met tonight with I assume is his girlfriend Xion, they had a bet over the summer that Riku could kiss at least eighty girls. And he said he even kissed some more just to make it clear how easily he could get any girl he wanted. Namine and Roxas celebrated their five year anniversary and I was happy for them.
Zack and I would be celebrating our three year anniversary if nothing happened. I thought.
