Adventure Time with Finn, Jake, & Rachel
Chapter 10: Ricardio the Heart Guy
One night, Rachel returned to the Ice Kingdom to find her father asleep already.
"Rest easy, Dad. For tomorrow, you'll never steal another princess again.", Rachel said silently to herself before heading to a different room.
She went to what looked like a storage room and moved the bookcase aside to reveal a hidden passage, taking the passage to what appeared to be a massive Library where she had everything ready. Going over to the bookcase she found the book she was looking for, "Mystic Rituals and Their Space Time Applications by Simon and Betty Petrikov", Rachel began tearing up at the other name.
"Soon, this nightmare will be over and we'll all be one big happy family again.". Rachel said with determination before heading over to the center of the room.
There, she poured a vial of chemicals into what looked like a futuristic cauldron before using her Ice Magic to summon snow Golems.
"Rise, creatures of Ice and Snow, and obey my command.", Rachel chanted as the Snow Golems formed and bowed to their mistress.
"Now, get on that bike and pedal.", Rachel commanded and they did as told.
"Now, for the final ingredient: an object from the past that has been lovingly tended to throughout the ages.", Rachel said before pulling out the catalyst, said catalyst being a teddy bear that was given to her for her fourth birthday by the one person she wanted most in the world.
Going over to the cauldron she set the bear in and after only a few seconds it formed a portal into the past and what Rachel saw, she will never unsee; it was the day of the incident, when her mother, Betty Petrikov, left her and her father. In that moment, Betty was running around a corner and hiding, panting in worry as a possessed Simon shot ice lightning skyward and young Rachel worriedly looked around for her mother.
"Mommy?! Where are you, Mommy?! I'm sorry I scared you away!", young Rachel apologized.
"Where's my Betty? Where's my princess?! Princess! Princess!", the possessed Simon shouted.
"Simon, Rachel, don't leave me like this.", Betty spoke in fear, tearing up, even.
Suddenly, the portal opened above her.
"Mom? Mom. Mom!", Ice Princess Rachel shouted from the portal.
"Rachel? You're all grown up... What is going on?", Betty asked.
"Well, a lot's happened since Dad put on the crown and I put on the tiara. I got carried away, Dad went crazy, you disappeared, and we never saw you again.", Rachel responded.
"But where would I go without you? And your dad?", Betty asked.
"All I know is that the only thing that was left was this note you gave me. About how you went 1,000 years in the future and how you needed me to look... after... him?", Rachel began as she realized something.
"Wait a second. That's it! I'm a thousand years in the future, now. It all makes sense!", Rachel realized.
"I don't understand.", Betty puzzled.
"Okay. Try writing something in a note in a way that tells my younger self that she's in good hands and that she needs to keep an eye on him.", Rachel said.
"Uh..., okay?", Betty puzzled before the portal suddenly started to shrink.
"And, uh, please make it quick. The portal's not gonna stay open for long.", Rachel said.
Hurriedly, Betty had a realization of her own, got out a blank note, wrote on it, and then set it down on the ground.
"Rachel, I know who I'm disappearing for!", Betty asked.
"Who?", Rachel asked.
While answering, Betty leapt through the portal.
"You, dum-dum!", Betty replied eagerly.
In the past, just as the portal closed, young Rachel found Betty's note on the ground.
"Huh?", young Rachel puzzled.
She walked over to it and held it up, Betty's voice being heard with every word written on it.
"Dear Rachel, If you're reading this, I wound up 1,000 years in the future. I don't know exactly what awaits there, but... apparently, your future self's there. I think you'd like her if you get the chance to meet her. She's just as radical as you. At least, that's what I'm guessing. Anyway, I'm sorry I can't do it myself right now, but there's something I need you to do. Please keep an eye on your dad for me. It may not seem like it now, but I never stopped loving him. Or you, for that matter. Who knows? Maybe you might grow up to be your future self in 1,000 years. A lot could happen in that amount of time. My love for you will stand the test of time. I know it will. Love, your mom.", Betty's voice spoke in the note.
Young Rachel teared up sadly and sniffled before looking up.
"Okay...", young Rachel spoke silently.
Meanwhile, in the present, after the portal disappeared, Rachel stood in awe and happiness as she was greeted by a sight she thought she would never see again, Betty, her mother, standing in front of her. Rachel didn't say anything as her emotions overwhelmed her and she went to hug her mom, tears streaming down her face as she did.
"I missed you so much, Mom.", Rachel said in-between sobs.
"I'm sure you did, honey. But I'm here now. And I'll never leave you again.", Betty said in her kind and compassionate voice that only a mother would use.
Rachel sniffled happily as she wiped away her tears and then pulled out the tiara for her.
"Okay... Now, all you need to do is put this on, and we can be together forever. Don't worry, it's nothing like Dad's. You'll still be yourself, but... the changes will happen gradually over time.", Rachel said giving her mom the tiara.
"Heh, this is just like the old days when you, your father, and I played castle and we were a happy royal family.", Betty reminisced before she then put on the tiara.
And nothing happened at first.
"I don't feel any different. Is it working?", Betty asked, not noticing her hair growing slightly longer.
"I told you that it will take time, but it is working. In fact, just look at your hair.", Rachel said making an ice mirror to show her.
Betty looked and saw that her hair was slightly longer than before.
"Huh. Well, I guess we'll ride this out together.", Betty said to Rachel before they both head upstairs to get some sleep.
The next morning, Betty woke up and sat up, noticing a slight change to her skin pigment.
"Whoa... Guess the change is progressing.", Betty said to herself.
As she got up out of bed, she turned to see an apparent note that Rachel left for her on the nightstand.
"'I'm gonna be outside for a bit.' Outside?", Betty read.
Curious, Betty got out of bed and looked out the window in time to see Ice King flying with Princess Bubblegum, cackling deviously.
"Hey, fart-face!", Finn shouted.
"Huh?", Ice King puzzled.
"Unhand Princess Bubblegum!", Finn demanded.
"Foolish interlopers! Zah!", Ice King shouted, zapping some ice magic at Finn, who evaded it.
"Whoa!", Finn reacted.
"Just let her go, Dad!", Rachel added, scooping some snow up, forming it into a snowball, and then tossing it at Ice King.
"Ee hee hee hee—OOH! MY EYESIGHT!", Ice King shouted, blinded by Rachel's snowball.
Finn placed two rocks on Jake's posterior, which stretched over to Bubblegum, formed into her shape with the rocks representing her eyes, and replaced Princess Bubblegum with it without Ice King noticing.
"Huh? Hee hee hee!", Bubblegum giggled before sneaking away as Ice King wiped the snow off his eyes.
"Hey, Ice King! I bet you'll never kiss the princess!", Finn dared.
"And right now, there's a very good reason not to do that!", Rachel added.
"I will kiss her! I WILL!", Ice King vowed before taking his crown off and turning to the "princess".
"Hold still.", Ice King spoke before kissing Jake's posterior. "Mwah!"
Finn laughed at the sight of this.
"You just kissed Jake's butt!", Finn teased.
"And that was a very good reason not to do that.
"What?!", Ice King reacted in shock.
As if to add insult to injury, Jake reformed his posterior back into its original shape, the two rocks popping off it.
"EEEEGH!", Ice King reacted in disgust, making the other four laugh, especially Betty, who giggled as she witnessed what happened from inside through a window.
"The hour is yours, but the day shall be mine! Just like you, Princess—MINE!", Ice King vowed, flying away.
"What a patoot. Thanks for saving the day yet again, boys.", Bubblegum thanked.
"You're welcome, Princess.", Finn responded before Bubblegum hugged him.
"Uh...", Finn said, blushing as Jake raised his eyebrow, amused.
Rachel gave a happy look at the sight and then turned back to the castle.
"I'm gonna throw you three a party. Meet at the Candy Kingdom—TONIGHT!", Bubblegum offered.
"Sounds great, Peebles. I'll catch up later, okay?", Rachel asked, flying away back into the ice castle.
"Okay! See you around!", Finn waved.
"Yeah, see you later, Rae-Rae!", Jake agreed.
Meanwhile, Betty spotted Ice King heading inside.
"Oh, here he comes. Better make myself scarce.", Betty said to herself, hiding behind Ice King's recliner chair just as Ice King entered.
"Oh, globdangit, it never ends! I'm sick and tired of my attempts of marriage always backfiring on me! At this rate, I'll never get hitched...", Ice King sighed.
But then, an idea came upon him.
"Unless... Of course! The love spell! That should be just the answer I needed to take care of that mess. Look out, Ooo! Ice King is here!", Ice King spoke eagerly, going into a different room, the coast now clear as Rachel entered with Betty peeping out from the chair.
"You see what I had to deal with for the last 3 years, Mom?", Rachel asked.
"I see what you mean now. And it's very hard not to.", Betty responded.
"And that's why you're here. If Dad, er, Ice King, sees you here, maybe it'd convince him to stop kidnapping princesses and settle down with you. Everyone wins. Of course, first, we're gonna have to come up with a story that seems plausible enough for him.", Rachel replied.
"But is that really gonna work?", Betty asked.
"I'll find a way to make this work. I kept an eye on him for 1,000 years, didn't I?", Rachel asked with a smirk.
"That you have. Oh, honey, I'm so proud of you.", Betty added as her hair became light and grew slightly longer.
Rachel smiled at the compliment.
"Thanks, Mom. And it seems like your changes are happening faster than I expected.," Rachel said, noticing her mother's appearance was drastically different from before.
"Yeah, but I don't mind. Fast or slow, gradual or instant, I get to go through it with you and your father by my side.", Betty said while stroking her long hair.
Play David Snell Music: "Perky Pinky"
While Ice King toiled away in his own private space, mixing some chemicals, Rachel and Betty were busy coming up with a viable story for the latter's arrival. From the looks of the back-and-forth reactions, it seemed to be going good, but then it fell short, only to rise up and at the end, it delivered strong, pleasing both mother and daughter. At one point, as Ice King checked over the chemicals, to make sure the reaction was going well, some empty flasks of which were smashed by Gunther, who was quickly apprehended, scolded, and sent to the corner, leaving the penguin disgruntled as he gave a disgruntled, "Wenk." at him, Rachel and Betty were in the process of making and sewing together a new royal blue outfit fit for a queen. But as they were making it, Betty's hair suddenly turned silver and grew longer to a point that it's at the top of her posterior while some of it got caught in the sewing process, making Betty wince in pain and embarrassment, making Rachel giggle at this with Betty giggling along with her as her skin turned gray-ish blue. As for Ice King, while he successfully made a potion and began casting it, a big, pink heart-shape bubble forming, much to his joy, Betty was trying the dress on. For the moment, it seemed too big, but then Betty's chest and butt puffed up just enough to help the dress fit her well, making Betty blush at this. Nevertheless, both Betty and Rachel were pleased about this appearance on Betty. But then, all of a sudden, the room shook with an explosion sounding nearby.
End David Snell Music: "Perky Pinky"
"What was that?", Betty asked.
"I don't know, Mom. You stay here for now. I'll go see what happened.", Rachel said.
With that, when Rachel entered, she was stunned to see Ice King on the ground unconscious.
"Dad!", Rachel shouted, rushing over to him.
"Dad, wake up! Are you okay?", Rachel asked in worry.
Just then, red arms and legs suddenly popped out from the Ice King's beard.
"Huh?", Rachel puzzled.
Suddenly, a red heart popped out of Ice King's chest and ran towards the window laughing.
"What the nuts?!", Rachel exclaimed.
"Now that I am free of you, her heart will be mine.", Ricardio smirked to Ice King before doing a french kissing motion and then jumping away with laughter out of the castle.
Ice King weakly looked over to his heart and groaned while passing out as Rachel held onto him.
"Oh, Dad... What'd you do to yourself...?", Rachel asked worriedly.
Moments later, Rachel had already explained to Betty the dire situation.
"Your dad's heart did what?!", Betty exclaimed.
"I know. I couldn't believe it, either. All I know is, as long as it's out there and not in Dad, he probably wouldn't have much time left. Or at the very least, as long as his heart still beats, even when outside of his body, Dad'll live, but... he'll be weak until his heart returns to him.", Rachel explained.
"Any clues on where his heart could be?", Betty asked.
"Well, right before he left, he said that 'her heart shall be his'.", Rachel said before widening her eyes in realization.
"Oh, no. He's after Princess Bubblegum's heart! To make it his bride!", Rachel realized.
"We have to save your father! And Bubblegum!", Betty urged.
"I know. At least we know where he's headed. I just hope we're not too late.", Rachel said to herself.
Later, Rachel was flying while carrying Ice King herself.
"Okay, Mom. We'll be back with Dad back in shape in no time...", Rachel whispered.
"I hope so...", Betty said before the two hugged.
With that, the two took off.
Meanwhile, in the Candy Kingdom, Finn and Jake were walking to the Candy Castle through the Cotton Candy Forest.
"That paper crane for Princess Bubblegum?", Jake asked.
"I just thought I'd bring 'er a gift... in return for throwing us this party.", Finn responded.
"Heh. I bet you wish you were my butt.", Jake teased.
"What?", Finn puzzled.
"I bet you wish you were my butt, because then the princess would... No, wait... I bet you wish you were the Ice King and the princess was my butt!", Jake said.
"What?", Finn puzzled again.
"Hmm... OH! I bet you wish Bubblegum would kiss you, too! Like the Ice King and my butt! Hahahaha!", Jake laughed as he snapped his fingers.
"That's ridiculous!", Finn responded before he imagined Princess Bubblegum kissing him, and he sighed contentedly and became annoyed.
"Huh? Uggghhh!", Finn exclaimed in annoyance as Jake ran ahead laughing. "What's so funny?"
Soon, the two were now in the Candy Castle with Peppermint Butler opening the doors.
"Hey, everybody. Rachel has yet to arrive, but Finn and Jake are here.", Peppermint Butler announced.
"Who's ready to party?!", Jake called.
However, the crowd seems focused on and gathered around something else, laughing together. Finn and Jake confusedly looked at each other.
"What's everyone laughing at?", Finn asked only to be shushed by Wildberry Princess.
Ice King's heart was already stepping all over Lumpy Space Princess.
"Stand back, everyone. This style of massage is called, 'Best Friend Massage.'", Ice King's heart announced.
"Oh, my gosh...", LSP commented.
"Because it can only be done for friends. It is completely consensual.", Ice King's heart stated, slowing his stomps and holding his arms out toward the direction he's facing.
"Oh, holy cow...", LSP said.
"Relax yourself now, Lumpy Space Princess... YAH!", Ice King's heart shouted as he backflipped and pounded her.
"Oh! I feel so great!", LSP spoke excitedly.
"Who is that guy?", Finn asked.
"Haha!", Ice King's heart chuckled boldly.
Jake only shrugged to Finn. Then, a fanfare sounded and Princess Bubblegum entered, carried by Peppermint Butler through a secret entrance revealed behind two bookshelves.
"Greetings, party-goers! Glad you could all make it!", Bubblegum grinned.
"Princess Bubblegum!", Finn grinned.
Little did he know that Ice King's heart stared at her and he himself started "beating" hard.
"Princess. I just wanted to thank you for—", Finn began in gratitude.
But then LSP cut in.
"Oh, my gosh! PB, ya gotta check out this super cute guy. You're gonna love 'im.", Lumpy Space Princess grinned as she brought him over to Ice King's heart, leaving Finn and Jake in the process.
"Uhhh...", Finn began in bafflement.
"This is... Oh. Oh, my gosh. I don't even know your name.", LSP said, trying to introduce him to her.
"Ricardio. Ricardio at your service. I've been waiting all evening to meet you, Princess. Mwah!", Ricardio greeted with a kneel, kissing her hand.
Seeing this, Finn pocketed his gift, irritated.
"I've heard you appreciate ancient technology. Have you ever used the balbaflonic laser to align the hybernotalist rift in the bubaflon plasmodial formation?", Ricardio asked.
"Whoa! No, I haven't! Wanna continue this conversation on the dance floor?", Bubblegum asked as the music started up and the crowd moved to the dance floor.
"It would be my pleasure, Princess.", Ricardio responded as he and Bubblegum left together.
Finn was bothered by this, if not confused.
"Why didn't the princess invite me to dance?", Finn asked as Jake walked up to him.
"If you wanna dance, just go dance!", Jake responded.
"But Rae-Rae's not here yet. And... now she's dancing with him! Ah... I feel... weird!", Finn said.
"Huh, it sounds like you're dealing with some new emotions you don't understand... like jealousy.", Jake smugly guessed.
"BLAAAARGH!", Finn snapped in extreme annoyance.
"Look, man, just go out there and get down!", Jake urged, pushing him onto the dance floor with Finn trying as hard as he could to dance.
"—transmordial layers completely independent of the babylons. Dip.", Ricardio spoke as he dipped Bubblegum.
"Wow! That would mean that the babylons would fluctuate with the piranha-nanosphere!", Bubblegum realized.
"Correct!", Ricardio grinned.
"Agh!", Finn groaned, going back to Jake to tell him the problem. "They're talkin' about science, man! I can't compete with that!"
"Do the Science Dance! Remember it? It was sorta like this. Wah unh we ah eeh...", Jake advised, doing the dance himself.
"You think that'll work?", Finn asked worriedly.
"Yeah! Probably. [Pushes him back onto the dance floor] Do it, man! You're a pro!", Jake urged, pushing him back onto the dance floor.
"Science Dance! Science Dance!", Finn spoke, doing the Science Dance.
"—lower proximities to—", Ricardio spoke, still talking with Bubblegum.
"Science Dance! He-ey, Princess! You wanna spend some time with me?", Finn asked, still dancing.
"Excuse me, Princess. You must excuse me.", Ricardio said, exiting.
"Oh, uh... Alright!", Bubblegum said before turning to Finn. "Finn, what the cabbage?"
"Sorry, Princess. I'll explain later.", Finn assured.
But before she could speak further, Finn went toward Ricardio.
"Finn!", Bubblegum said, visibly annoyed.
Meanwhile, Ricardio was more than annoyed.
"Just what does that boy think he's doing here?", Ricardio asked to himself.
"I could ask you the same thing.", Finn spoke, suspicious toward him.
"That's none of your business.", Ricardio smirked.
"The safety of Princess Bubblegum IS my business! So, if you know what's good for you, you stay away from her!", Finn warned.
"Now, that my plan is set in motion, there is no way you can stop me.", Ricardio discouraged.
"I could stop you if I wanted!", Finn retorted.
"Oh, yeah?", Ricardio asked.
"Yeah!", Finn retorted.
"Oh, yeah?", Ricardio asked, giving a tough look.
"YEAAAAHHHH! YAH!", Finn shouted right before punching Ricardio, instantly causing everyone to gasp in shock from seeing this sight.
"What's going on here?", Bubblegum asked.
"Princess?!", Finn said in shock.
"Ricardio?!", Bubblegum exclaimed.
"Yes... I'm alright, Princess.", Ricardio assured.
"Finn... why'd you do it?", Finn asked.
"He was gonna poison you!", Finn responded.
"I'm pretty sure you're just jealous of Ricardio.", Bubblegum retorted.
"No, I'm not. I just don't like the way he talks to you. It makes me feel weird!", Finn responded.
"That's jealousy, hun.", Bubblegum glared.
"It's not all his fault, Princess. I might've looked a little threatening.", Ricardio assured.
"Woof! Man... This is goin' bad.", Jake said in a bit of worry, going towards him.
"Finn... you shouldn't punch brainiacs. You know how fragile they are! You gotta stop this jealous business!", Bubblegum scolded.
"But...", Finn began.
"Hey, Finn. You gotta come help me slay these peanut monsters at the bar. It can't wait.", Jake urged as he dragged Finn away until the two were now alone.
"Come on, Ricardio. I'll patch you up and give you candy.", Bubblegum said, leading him away.
"Wow, man, what happened out there?", Jake asked.
"Agh... I don't know! I was tryin' to warn 'er, but she twisted my words around and—", Finn began.
"Yeah. Ladies are twisty, man. Bubblegum's super smart, too.", Jake interrupted, twisting his arms for a moment.
"I know! And I can't shake this weird feeling about Ricardio. I think he's... a villain.", Finn suspected.
"Why? Is it because his face is so foldy and dramatic?", Jake asked, molding his face to slightly mirror Ricardio's shape.
"No! I can just feel it in my gut! He's up to something sinister!", Finn guessed as he looked toward Ricardio and Bubblegum, the latter giggling as the former showed him a chicken and a fish.
"Maybe what you feel is romantic rivalry. Why else would you have socked him the way you did?", Jake guessed.
"I'll prove he's a villain!", Finn vowed.
"How?", Jake asked.
"Stakeout.", Finn replied.
Meanwhile in the Ice Kingdom, Betty waited impatiently for her hair to grow longer as right now it only reached the middle of her back.
"Ugh, come on, hair! Grow, Simon and Rachel could be in trouble and I need to get to them.", Betty said in frustration before sitting in the recliner.
Then all of a sudden, Betty felt a tingling sensation on her scalp which caused Betty to bolt to her feet.
"Oh, oh, oh, this must be it! Come on, hair, you can do it.", Betty encouraged to her hair.
Then, her hair shot down in length reaching to just above her butt, giving Betty much joy.
"Yes! Perfect! I should be able to fly now." Betty said.
Then Betty started to concentrate, feel the wind on her face and imagine herself soaring through the clouds. Then, as if reacting to her thoughts, her hair started flapping like a pair of wings. Betty then looked to see herself hovering just off the ground as a smile formed on her face.
"Yes! All right! Hold on, Simon and Rachel, the Ice Queen is coming!", Betty said before rushing off to the Candy Kingdom.
Meanwhile, as soon as Rachel ventured into the Candy Kingdom, Ice King started to come to, slow as he is, before turning to see Rachel.
"Huh...? Rae-Rae? What are you...?", Ice King asked.
"I'm looking for your runaway heart so I can get you back in shape.", Rachel responded.
"Huh...? But how did you...?", Ice King puzzled.
"Know what was going on? I heard an explosion and rushed in to see what happened. That was when I saw your heart suddenly coming to life and hunting Bubblegum. Or more specifically, her heart. Remember?", Rachel asked as it showed said flashback of when it happened before going to the present.
"Oh... Yeah.", Ice King realized.
"Anyway, if he's anywhere in the Candy Kingdom, he's not far behind.", Rachel said, carrying him.
Little did she know that Finn and Jake had the same idea, but they're much closer to Ricardio than Rachel and Ice King were as they're now on a roof, and Finn was looking through binoculars.
"Here he comes! They're talking!", Finn said, viewing Ricardio and Princess Bubblegum via binoculars.
"Lemme see. I can read their lips.", Jake said before then mimicking Princess Bubblegum and Ricardio as they spoke at a far away distance.
"'Hey, shorty, you should pick your boogers and then fart.' 'You look kind of like a big pink baguette!'", Jake mimicked.
But Finn was not pleased as he took back his binoculars.
"Get serious, Jake! This is life and death!", Finn scolded.
"Is it? Don't get me wrong. I'm all about stakeouts and spying on this guy, but what if he's not a villain? What if he just looks wicked? Some people look wicked but are super nice.", Jake puzzled.
"I gotta trust my gut!", Finn responded, looking back through his binoculars again with Jake grabbing his gut.
"Hmm.", Jake said to himself.
"He's on the move! Let's roll!", Finn said before the two swung onto a Guardian of the Royal Promise just as meanwhile, across the kingdom, they looked until they came across an alley and saw the runaway heart grabbing some rope and going into the trash.
"There! There he is!", Rachel spoke up before heading off toward him.
"Oh, wowsers!", Ice King exclaimed from the speed Rachel was running.
"I see 'im. He's holding rope and going into the trash. He's smashing bottles—and pretending to stab someone!", Finn exclaimed as the heart popped out of the dumpster, broke a some bottles and used one of them to pretend stab before chuckling.
"So... he's recycling... or what?", Jake asked as Finn took his binoculars off.
"I think your gut's a little naive, Jake.", Finn commented before he put his binoculars back on.
"Hey!", Rachel shouted, attracting the heart's attention.
"Oh. It's you two losers again.", the heart spoke in disgust.
"Look, Mr., uh... Ice King's Heart?", Rachel asked.
"Call me Ricardio.", Ricardio responded.
"Okay. Ricardio. I think you need to understand that Dad really needs you for his health. Out there, you're practically vulnerable to physical attacks of any kind. And if anything happens to you, it's not just you that dies, but Dad, too.", Rachel explained.
"It's true. Please... Return to me and leave the princess alone...", Ice King begged as Rachel looked up and saw Finn and Jake spying on them via stakeout.
"Finn? Jake?", Rachel said to herself.
"Holy moly! He's... he's with the Ice King! And Rae-Rae!", Finn shouted in surprise.
"Hah! Why should I?", Ricardio asked with a bold smirk.
"They're shouting something!", Finn said to himself.
"Because what you're putting Dad through isn't fair and you know it.", Rachel responded.
"Fair?! I'll tell you what's not fair: spending a lifetime locked behind a frail, old man, watching as he tries and fails to impress the princess! Well, finally, all that waiting has paid off, and no hand-me-down old man and wannabe Ice Princess is about to MESS IT UP FOR ME NOW!", Ricardio shouted as he turned to leave only for Ice King to grab him.
"Oh, no, you don't...!", Ice King grunted as he then tossed him back only for Ricardio to retaliate and stomp all over him.
"Dad!", Rachel shouted before preparing to use her ice magic.
"Go ahead! Try it! Your old fart of a father can't help you!", Ricardio smirked.
"Grr! His name is Simon Petrikov!", Rachel snapped.
"Whatever! I've always hated being used by this decrepit, old man.", Ricardio retorted before tossing Ice King into the dumpster.
"Ricardio is tossing him in the dumpster and running away!", Finn shouted in worry as he saw this unfold.
As for Rachel, she quickly helped Ice King back up and out of the dumpster.
"Easy does it...!", Rachel spoke with a grunt until he's resting on her.
"Take it easy, Dad...", Rachel sighed.
"So, I was right! He is a good guy who's just cursed to look suspicious! You and me, gut! Together forever! Solvin' crimes and makin' up rhymes!", Jake smirked, even speaking to his gut, not knowing that Rachel saw him and Finn again.
"Wait... I think they might be able to help you.", Rachel grinned to Ice King before flying over to them while Finn argued with Jake.
"No way. Did you see how panicked Rachel was? This proves he's a super-villain! More powerful than lesser villains like the Ice King!", Finn argued before, as Jake sang the gut song, Rachel flew herself and Ice King up toward the top of the Gumball Guardian right behind Finn and Jake.
"Lesser villain?", Ice King asked, taking Finn and Jake aback.
"Who you callin' a lesser villain...? I...I-I'm a more-ser villain...", Ice King spoke weakly.
"Easy, there, Dad. You're still not doing so good.", Rachel spoke in concern toward him.
"Whoa! Rae-Rae, what happened to him? The Ice King looks sort of damaged.", Jake said.
"My... enervated condition has everything to do with HIM!", Ice King responded.
"What do you know about this?", Finn asked.
"I was trying to cast a spell that would give me total control of Princess Bubblegum's heart! But I messed it all up... and lost control of mine. He planned to rip out Princess Bubblegum's heart... to make it his bride. Without my heart, I grew weak. But with Rae-Rae's help, I made my way to the Candy Kingdom to look for him. In an alleyway, I begged him to return to me and leave the princess alone. But he threw me in the dumpster and left me for dead.", Ice King explained.
"Which is why we need to find Ricardio and stop him before anything bad happens. For both Bubblegum's sake... and my dad's.", Rachel added.
"Stop... Ricardio...!", Ice King pleaded weakly.
"Come on, Jake! Gotta save the princess!", Finn spoke in worry.
Later, at downtown in the Candy Kingdom, Ricardio was walking deviously and accidentally ran into Finn, who's accompanied by Rachel, Jake, and a weakened Ice King.
"So, what're you doin', Ricardio?", Finn asked.
"And where're your rope and broken bottles?", Rachel added.
"That's none of your business.", Ricardio smirked.
"The safety of Princess Bubblegum is my business!", Finn retorted.
"We know what your plan is, Ricardio.", Rachel added.
"Oh, yeah?", Ricardio asked.
"Yeah.", Finn, Jake, Rachel, and Ice King agreed in unison.
"Oh, yeah?", Ricardio asked.
"Yeah.", Finn replied.
"Oh, yeah?", Ricardio asked as he put on a tough face, lovely looking as it is.
"Yeah!", Rachel retorted.
"Oh, yeah?", Ricardio asked.
"Yeah.", Jake replied, then becoming slightly annoyed. "Yes!"
"Look, why don't you just get back to Dad's chest and no one gets hurt?", Rachel asked as she moved closer to him back toward the castle.
"I've told you before, Finn. There is no way you can stop me!", Ricardio asked.
"Oh, no?", Finn asked.
"No!", Ricardio retorted before he opened the door to show that Bubblegum was tied up with ropes, horrifying Finn, Jake, Rachel, and even Ice King.
"FINN! JAKE! RAE-RAE!", Bubblegum shouted.
"You were right all along, Finn! Now I'm going to cut out Princess Bubblegum's heart and make out with it!", Ricardio smirked, drawing out his broken bottle weapons without cutting himself.
"Not if I can help it!", Finn exclaimed as he, Jake, and Rachel charged toward Ricardio.
They chased Ricardio into a dark room and out of it as a neighing horse sound was heard inside, catching them off-guard while they were inside. Nevertheless, they chased him and Ricardio ended up next to Bubblegum again.
"One step closer and I'll remove her heart!", Ricardio threatened.
"No!", Rachel spoke in worry.
"Finn! I feel like a big idiot for doubting you! He was just so engaging! ...But his knowledge on plantoids is actually pretty weak.", Bubblegum commented, upsetting, if not angering the heart guy.
"Shut your mouth up, Princess!", Ricardio hissed before Jake knocked him down by stretching his jowl at him.
"I'M GONNA SMOOCH THAT HEART! IT WILL BE MY BRIDE!", Ricardio shouted.
"Why don't you marry someone your own size?! Like my foot!", Finn shouted.
"Huh?!", Ricardio asked in worry before Finn kicked him, worrying Rachel.
"Finn, stop!", Rachel begged.
"And my fist!", Finn added before punching Ricardio.
Rachel couldn't take it as she covered her eyes and shed her tears with a whimper. But then, her sorrow quickly turned into rage.
"RRRRAAAAAAGGGGH!", Rachel roared, letting loose a blizzard toward Finn, who barely had time to react before he dodged to avoid the incoming snow.
"What the...? Rae-Rae?! What the bing-bong ping-pong?!", Finn exclaimed.
"I just got my family back! I am NOT about to lose them again!", Rachel shouted before yelling out again as she let loose her ice upon Finn.
"What the king-kong sing-song?!", Finn shouted before running to avoid the incoming ice.
Seeing this, Ricardio let out a small chuckle.
"I can't believe this...! one of my enemies attacking her allies just to protect me?", Ricardio chuckled.
Finn found himself in a corner, trapped even! Luckily, before the attack could continue, Betty's voice called out.
"RAE-RAE! That's enough. Stop.", Betty urged.
"Mom...?! Y-You're flying!", Rachel said in surprise.
"Whoa... That's your Mom?", Finn asked.
"She looks beautiful.", Jake added with Bubblegum nodding in agreement.
But that wasn't all.
"Stop! Stop it!", Ice King shouted, attracting Finn and Rachel's attention.
"Huh? Dad?", Rachel asked.
"That's my heart, you piece of—", Ice King began as he crawled toward Ricardio.
"Ice King.", Finn spoke as Ice King crawled towards Ricardio.
"All right, now. Easy.", Betty spoke, holding the weak Ice King up while Rachel picked up Ricardio.
"You're gonna be just fine, Dad...", Rachel said with a tearful smile.
"Should we... let 'im take his heart back? He is... villainous...", Finn asked.
"Well, yeah, but... he's Rae-Rae's dad. And I don't wanna watch her old man die on Princess Bubblegum's carpet, man.", Jake replied.
"Oh, yeah...", Ice King said.
"Wait! Wait! No!", Ricardio pleaded as Rachel brought him closer to Ice King.
"Come to daddy...", Ice King spoke.
"NOOOOOOOOOO!", Ricardio shouted weakly as Rachel stuffed him in Ice King's chest.
"Yeah, there you go... Like that? Huh?", Rachel asked.
"Seeee you guys laterrrr...", Ricardio spoke as he sank into Ice King's chest.
"Ugh...", Betty and Rachel shuddered.
"So, uh, Dad? How do you feel now?", Rachel asked as Ice King's pale skin turned back to his usual blue color.
"I feel wonderful! Hahaha!", Ice King laughed.
"Glad to have you back, Dad!", Rachel grinned as she hugged him.
"And now that I've saved the Princess, she'll marry me and live in my dungeon every day!", Ice King said.
"No, she won't!", Finn argued.
"Yeah, no, I won't!", Bubblegum agreed.
"Oh! Actually, Dad, I almost forgot. I'd like you to meet someone better. Like her, maybe?", Rachel asked, gesturing to Betty.
"Hi.", Betty waved.
"Who'ssat?", Ice King asked.
"Well, Dad, this is an Ice Queen. It turns out she came from another Ice Kingdom that was... destroyed years ago. She's the only survivor of that ice kingdom now. So, maybe she could use someone to keep her company.", Rachel responded.
"I'm Betty.", Betty introduced.
The happy Ice King smiled, laughed his crazy laugh, and danced for joy.
"So, you see? You don't need to kidnap princesses to find the right one. Maybe you should go get ready back at your place?", Rachel grinned.
"Yes. Go do that. I'll catch up later.", Betty agreed.
"Well, in that case...,", Ice King began before he began flying away.
"See ya later, babe.", Ice King grinned right before he accidentally knocked head on the door frame and grunted in pain as he exited.
Rachel then sighed and turned to Finn and the others.
"I am so sorry I attacked you like this, Finn. There's something I should've told you sooner...", Rachel began.
2 MINUTES LATER
It then went to a dining room in the castle where Finn, Jake, Rachel, Betty, and Bubblegum were now eating spaghetti.
"And that's how it all happened.", Rachel explained.
"Well, it's nice to meet you, Betty.", Bubblegum grinned.
"It's nice to meet you, too. And you guys, too.", Betty responded, looking toward Finn and Jake next.
"Same here, Betty.", Finn grinned.
"Yeah. It's great to meet you.", Jake agreed, making Rachel grin.
"Thanks again for saving me... again.", Bubblegum thanked.
"Don't mention it.", Finn replied with his mouth full.
"Now that Ricardio's gone, you don't have to be jealous of anyone anymore.", Bubblegum said to Finn, winking at him.
"I never get jealous.", Finn argued.
"Kiss me, Finn.", Bubblegum spoke romantically, making Finn blush, astonished.
But then, Bubblegum cleared her throat as she was now apparently doing a hand-stand and wearing a Jake mask on her posterior, even speaking in a deeper voice.
"Ahem. I mean... kiss me, Finn.", Bubblegum spoke in a deeper voice, astonishing Rachel.
"Am I doing it right, Jake?", Bubblegum whispered in her normal voice, earning Jake's chuckle.
"Whoa. What's all this about?", Rachel asked.
But before Jake could answer, Rachel interrupted.
"Nope! Don't answer that! I don't wanna know. You, uh, wanna head back home, Mom? You know? For your special night?", Rachel asked.
"Oh, yeah! That's right. Well, it's nice meeting you all, but we better get going.", Betty said as she and Rachel started to leave.
"Thanks for the spaghetti, Bubblegum, gotta go, bye!", Rachel shouted as she and Betty took off, flying in the air.
"See you later, Rae-Rae!", Finn shouted with a wave.
With that, the two ice women arrived back at the Ice Kingdom.
"Hey, Dad! We're back!", Rachel shouted as she and Betty arrived before seeing the one thing they didn't expect: Ice King in a black tuxedo.
"So, what do ya think, Betty? You like this?", Ice King grinned.
"Whoa, Dad. I know I said to get ready, but you really cleaned up nice.", Rachel said in awe.
"How about it, Betty? You wanna go on a date?", Ice King asked.
"Well, yes! That's actually what I was gonna ask you.", Betty responded.
"Well, that's rad!", Ice King grinned before turning to Rachel.
"Psst. Rae-Rae. While we're gone, you're in charge.", Ice King said to Rachel.
"Uh, okay. Well, guess it's just you and me, Gunther.", Rachel said, picking Gunther up.
"Wenk.", Gunther responded.
"Okay, enjoy yourself, sweetheart.", Betty grinned before she and Ice King flew away for their date, leaving Rachel smiling for them as she looked out the window.
"Have fun!", Rachel waved.
"Wenk!", Gunther added with his own wave.
