(2 weeks after Chapter 2)

Currently, Willow and Gus were formulating a strategy for an upcoming exhibition Flyer Derby game. During Willow's pitch to Hexside's faculty for a school flyer derby team the vote was fifty-fifty. Since the vote was split the principal decided to hold a game and see what the reaction would be. Willow agreed and was able to find another team to play them for the exhibition. They were given two weeks to prepare and for the school to get the word out to Bonesborough. Tomorrow was the day

"Hey Willow, I don't mind helping you game plan but doesn't Skara usually help you strategize?" Gus asked

"Yeah," Willow replied "But she has a date tonight so I told her to enjoy herself."

"I'm here!" They heard Hunter say as he walked into the room.

Willow immediately got up and ran to Hunter and enthusiastically wrapped him up in a hug and Kissed him.

"Where did that come from?" Hunter asked.

Willow looked at him with a faint smile, "It's just, we've both been so busy lately we've barely had any time for each other."

"I know, I'm sorry Willow. But I promise I'll make it up to you!" he replied, kissing her on the top of her head.

Suddenly Hunter's palisman, Waffles start chirping at him.

"What's she saying?" Willow asked.

"She said she wants to talk to me outside for a second," Hunter said as he started to follow his palisman, "I'll be right back." he told Willow as he walked out the door

"What's up?" He asked Waffles.

Waffles chirped at him and tilted her head in the direction they just walked from.

Hunter immediately understood what Waffles was suggesting. "You...think I should ask her after the game?"

His palisman responded with a simple chirp indicating yes. Hunter had been busy these last few weeks but not solely due to carving. Hunter was also slowly preparing to ask Willow to marry him. Unlike Amity he wasn't planning a specific moment but was waiting for the right one. He already had the ring now all he needed was the opportunity.

Hunter rubbed the back of his head, "I don't know, in front of stands full of people it sounds too public."

Waffles flew on Hunter's head and lightly pecked him multiple times.

"Ok," Hunter replied, "I'll think it over tonight but for now we need to get back to the game plan."

Hunter would cross that bridge later. For now, he and Waffles went back into the house to help Willow and Gus prepare for tomorrow.

(THE NEXT DAY)

It was currently noon and the stands were starting to fill up. Even though the town was more into Grudgby almost all of Bonesborogh turned up. It helps that the human who saved The Boiling Isles was helping spread the word. Speaking of said human, Luz and Amity were two of the first to arrive. They were currently sitting in the mid-section of the stands waiting for their family to join them. Luz sitting in her seat holding her wife's hand until she heard her name being called.

"Luz!" She heard King say as he crawled up on her shoulder and hugged her face, "I didn't miss you at all!" He said jokingly.

Luz hugged him and planted a kiss on his head, "I missed you too King."

Luz had been so busy with her school responsibilities that she had been able to see people as often as she would like.

"Hey you crazy love birds," Eda said as she walked up and hugged both girls and took her seat beside Luz.

"Where's Raine?" Amity asked Noticing Eda and King came alone.

"They had a late night so I let them sleep in." Eda replied, "But we didn't come alone."

Luz and Amity looked at each other confused, "Who else is with you?" Luz asked

"Luuuuuuuuuuz…" She heard as she felt something pressing the back of her head.

She knew that voice anywhere, "Hi Hooty!" She said with a smile and she turned and hugged his head. As annoying as Hooty could be, she still loved him to bits

"Give the girls some room, Hootsifer," Lilith said as she came up and hugged both girls and sat down next to Amity.

"I didn't expect you to come here Lilith," Amity said.

Lilith shrugged, "Well, I heard this was important to Willow, so I decided to come here to show support, plus I wanted to see my former student/niece-in-law."

"Ya know, I still don't get what's so important about the school having a Flyer Derby team," Eda said.

"Didn't have those back when Eda and I were students here," Lilith said.

"It's to help younger witches get into the sport, Willow fought through tooth and bone to make sure this sport is brought back for all of Hexside and other schools in the Demon Realm to enjoy," Luz replied.

"I just hope everything turns out okay," Amity said in a worried tone, "Willow told me she was up late planning a strategy."

Luz looked at her wife puzzled, "I thought Skara was their strategist."

"Yeah, but she and Boscha had a date last night so Willow, Gus, and Hunter took care of it."

"Boscha has a girlfriend now?" King said who was now sitting on Luz's lap. "Guess there's someone for everyone, even someone like Boscha."

"I'm sure you might find some lucky gal one day, King." Luz joked, teasing her little brother.

"Yeah, that ain't happening," King replied back.

"What about me, Hoot-Hoot?"

"Uhhhhh, sure Hooty," Luz replied, knowing Hooty was just being his goofy self.

The group talked among themselves until both Derby teams came onto the field. Both teams were currently on the field stretching and mentally preparing but Willow was visibly nervous. Everything she had been trying to do the last few weeks was riding on this. She had to put on a good enough performance to wow the crowd to convince the Hexside faculty that this was a good idea. Hunter on the other hand was nervous for a completely different reason. After thinking about it over tonight Hunter decided that he would propose to Willow after the game just like his palisman suggested. Hunter had Waffles hide the ring somewhere in the locker room so it wouldn't get damaged during the game.

"Hey Skara," Willow said as she walked up to her teammate, "What did you think of our gameplan?"

"It was great!" Skara replied, "I'm sorry I wasn't able to help you with it last night."

Willow smiled at her, "Oh, It's fine! I understand what it's like to be in a new relationship, and speaking of I think I see her in the stands."

After hearing that, Skara looked in the stands and saw Boscha in the front row. Once they made eye contact Boscha lightly waved at her and Skara waved back with a blush on her face.

"By the way, I want to thank you both for voting for Hexside getting a team."

Skara turned her attention back to Willow,

"Oh it was no problem, I just wish it worked."

Willow patted Skara on the back, "Well then, let's show them it's a good idea!"

"Alright, everyone!" The official said over a mic, "The game is about to begin. For those of you who don't know, here are the rules. Each member of each team has a flag on the back of their staff. The goal is for each team to steal the opposing team's flags and put them on their post. If a player has their flag stolen and put on the post that player is out!"

"Both teams, get into position!" the official said to both teams.

Both teams got in their spots and waited for the official's signal. The opposing team consisted of 2 abomination users, 2 plant users, and an illusionist. Both teams looked intensely at each other ready to go. No one on either team had any bad blood with each other; they both wanted the same thing. So both teams had to give it their all to impress the crowd. The official holds his hand up and then brings it down and blows the whistle starting the game.

Three members of the other team immediately began by sending abomination projectiles at Willow's team. Willow blocked with her plant magic and all players started to spread out. The game just started and things were already intense but it was already wowing the crowd it's what Willow wanted. Willow collected her thoughts and started to fly after an opposing player. Skara was currently being chased by an opponent who was a plant magic user using vines to try and stop her. Ahead of her, another opponent was rushing at her with an abomination club. Skara moved downward causing the two to collide which Skara took advantage of and took both of their flags and put them on her team's post. Before Skara could collect her thoughts she was blindsided and hit by an abomination ball sending her flying off her staff and hitting the ground. Fortunately, the goo covering her broke her fall. Gus started to go after the witch who eliminated Skara but before he could use a spell a vine grabbed his staff. The witch using the spell quickly took his flag eliminating him and evening the field and score. Viney was chasing down the remaining abomination user but while she was doing that she was being chased by the plant user who eliminated Gus. She was able to snatch the flag and put it on their post but right as she placed it her flag was stolen by the plant user. After placing Viney's flag on their post the plant user went straight for Hunter. As he tried to sneak up on Hunter he instantly teleported behind the opponent and took his flag eliminating him. Hunter wanted to end it quickly so could ask Willow what he wanted to ask so he teleported behind the remaining member. However, when he went to take her flag she disappeared the second he touched her flag indicating that it was an illusion. Before he realized what happened his flag was stolen, eliminating him and leaving the rest to Willow. The illusionist made like 20 illusions of herself and quickly spread out. Willow lost sight of the real one as she was surrounded. All the illusions and the real opponent rushed her. Willow mentally counted to herself and waited for the perfect moment to make her move. When they were all 5 feet away from her Willow erupted and sent vines coming out of the ground striking all illusions. The real opponent was hit as well which sent her flying off her staff. Willow took the flag and put it on her team's post winning the game. The crowd erupted and Willow's team all came together in a celebratory group hug and the crowd was still wild. While they were celebrating Waffles went and retrieved the ring and secretly gave it to Hunter

"Well done Miss Park," The principal said as she walked up to Willow. "It seems the crowd was entertained and so was the rest of the school."

"Does that mean?" Willow asked hopefully

"I'll make the announcement tomorrow that we will start a team next year!"

Willow mentally screamed in excitement. Everything went perfectly!

"We did it!" Willow said and she wrapped her arms around Hunter's neck.

"And it's about to get better." He replied.

Willow looked at him confused, "What do you-?" Willow started to say before she saw Hunter get on one knee and was speechless. During this time Waffles flew away again.

"I've been wanting to do this for a while and wanted the perfect moment. Willow… ever since I met you, you've shown me how to be strong and always there for the people who truly care about me. It's because of you that I've truly honored my ancestors… in a way, you're the Evelyn to my Caleb, and I want us to live the life they never were able to have. So, Willow Park…" Hunter paused as he pulled out a small box. He opened it showing Willow a ring in the shape of a flower.

"Will you marry me?" he asked, shocking both the team and the crowd. Hunter was so nervous he didn't notice that Waffles was flying next to him holding the mic so everyone could hear the entire thing

Luz stood up and cheered and clapped loudly, "WHOO-HOO! THAT'S MY BROTHA!!!"

Willow struggled to speak but was able to get her answer out, "Y-Yes! Yes, you dorky golden Grimwalker, yes!"

Hunter put the ring on her finger. She looked at the ring on her finger with tears of joy in her eyes. She grabbed Hunter by his face and planted a passionate kiss on his lips. Again the crowd erupted.

"Oh I'm so gotta tell Mama and Darius about this. They're gonna flip in joy." Luz said pulling out her iScroll Phone and texting to her mama and Darius.
