There was some tension, just like Robin expected when so many androids stepped in the village. It was only legit since no one but Pascal knew them, yet.

Also, thankfully White convinced Jackass to stay behind and work on 6O's weapon instead, or she would have probably gone crazy over the machines, and having her scare them off was not how things were meant to go.

"I spoke of you, well the ones I know best with the villagers, they are curious, but still a bit cautious, I tried my best to reassure them, but best if you show them proof."

"We understand, after all, we've been at war for such a long time, we can't blame them." Rose nodded, meeting the approval of the rest.

They had been enemies for far more than just a few years.

It was okay that they were scared.

It went both ways, androids too feared machines, especially Goliath ones, for how strong they were.

"I told them a little about your stories, the kind of people you are, and what you've done for me."

Though they weren't sure how much he told about, or how explicit he had been, at least there was much less to tell.

Especially on Robin's side, and also A2.

They really didn't feel like sharing their experiences right now, and it would also ruin the overall cheerful mood.

"MY FRIENDS!" a loud shout reached them, and Robin was sure she heard it before.

"Is this…?" 9S didn't manage to finish the sentence as a familiar machine rushed over with his hands waving in the air at them.

The machine they had found in the forest, the one who loved animals.

They almost forgot that 2B took him to the village, and Robin supposed it all restarted from him, and then everyone else joined after.

The village was looking way better than when she last saw it, with the trees and grass all burned, and nothing more than dead and corpses around, and Pascal alone struggling to take care of it all.

At least, unlike Ohara, this place arose from the ashes.

She almost felt bad for asking them to leave it.

But if they all could live together, they could have their own village too if they found an island to stay, mingle with androids and maybe humans, instead of being by themselves.

And finding out that perhaps, even if they looked different, they really weren't.

"You know each other?" Anemone asked, she thought they were all new villagers.

"YES!"

"We found this guy alone in the forest when we went to look for a spare core for 21O, and we thought he needed a friend, so 2B brought him here." Robin explained, as the woman nodded.

"I'm glad he's doing better." as she smiled the machine nodded then scurried away again, to a group of stubbies.

The new kids, probably.

"The machines of the forest killed all his friends, so we thought not to leave him alone." 9S pointed out once the guy was far away so he couldn't hear.

Good thing he did, as the machine returned with the kids following.

With the corner of her eye Robin could spot A2 take a few steps back, trying to hide behind her and other taller units.

Poor thing…

She still wasn't over it.

And the human wondered if it might have been at fault for it too, at least partially, and that final thing she had asked her to do…

A2 never said it, she was too kind to blame her for anything, but still…

Hopefully these new little ones would help her finally regain her confidence, she would need it.

But she didn't dare to ask directly.

Didn't want to be rude to machines she didn't know, and neither did she want to put any pressure on A2.

The group of kids instantly swarmed the androids, reaching up to them with their small hands, and kept greeting them, to gain their attention.

How cute.

Robin put a hand on the nearest one's head much to the little one's delight.

"Who are you, pretty eyed lady?" and polite too.

Just as expected from Pascal's children, like the others he taught them well, and hopefully for him, he taught them not to end their lives as well.

Knowing him, she expected that he did.

He did say he didn't want to repeat his past mistakes, even though it hadn't truly been his fault. There was no way anyone could have expected what happened.

Not him and not A2.

No matter how much they blamed themselves about it, but at least one of them managed to move on, the other not so much, even if she wouldn't say so her behavior spoke for her, as she was still hiding behind her and Number 21.

Because they were the tallest two of the group.

But the Scanner didn't seem bothered by the kids around them, nor her comrade's hesitation.

Oddly enough, she may have even been curious.

"I suppose presentations are in order." Rose spoke as she watched as the rest of the village came to see them, though they stayed at distance.

It almost looked like an event, and matter of fact it could be considered one.

"My name is Rose, I lead what one was the Resistance, but right now we're pretty much just a group of androids aiding each other."

Perhaps they could think of a new name once they departed from this planet.

But getting rid of it felt wrong, after calling themselves as such for such a long time.

"My name is Anemone, I led the Resistance for a while, when I lost my companions I took over for them before finding out they were still alive. Pascal and I made deals to trade and aid each other with the former villagers, my friends wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him either." in other words she could almost consider herself as a substitute leader.

Though she would never be as good as Rose.

"We owe him a lot." both her and A2.

But so did he.

Another case of things going both ways, just as it should be.

"I'm Gerbera, weapon and repair expert. I always had a fascination with machines, I hope you would be willing to allow me to get to know you better." even though very similar to Jackass, at least Gerbera knew a bit more discretion than the other woman.

Jackass would jump at any opportunity to tear things apart to study them, while Gerbera preferred to watch how machines acted instead.

It was why she was very much curious about this village, and to see if these people were truly different from the type of machines with no feelings they used to know.

Before they evolved again and again, until they became these sentient beings on par with androids.

"Hi, I'm Daisy, nice to meet you." the big woman smiled brightly as Lily held onto her arm.

The small girl had built confidence over the years, but she still wasn't very trusting of machines, even androids a bit, but last time they took androids in she met a bunch of new friends.

Including the woman that would risk her own life for her to save her, even despite how badly she treated her at first glance due to fear.

She had grown rather close to Number 21 if she had to admit.

But still…

Lily pulled a little on Daisy's arm, and thankfully she got the hint.

"Ah this is Lily, she's a good friend but she's a bit shy, and machines still scare her a bit, but she'll get used to you." much like she got used to the YoRHas.

They weren't bad, as much as these machines could be too.

Number 2 had been much different before, and she didn't trust her to take decisions back then, but she had a good heart still, and that had never changed, even if she did.

She had placed her faith in their group after all, even if out of desperation, it had been a good decision.

If she said the machines here were trustable then she'd give them a chance, and eventually open up to them too.

Maybe.

It could take a while though.

"I'm Margaret, and I hope we can be friends." as she said so Dahlia grunted at her side.

Judgmental as always.

The woman wasn't fond of machines either, she'd rather kill them than be friends with them.

Margaret put her hands on the woman's shoulders.

"This is Dahlia, she's a bit rude, I'm sorry. She'll warm up to you, eventually." like she did with the YoRHa, particularly with Number 16, even if she insisted that they didn't like each other.

Or perhaps it was the entire opposite way around.

However, now that the presentation of the members of the Resistance was over, it was YoRHa's turn, as they briefly looked at each other to decide who would speak first.

And also at the fact that A2 was still trying to hide from the kids.

In the end, being probably the most qualified to speak and explain a lot, 9S started.

"Us dressed in black are newer models called YoRHa, I'm Unit Number 9 Type S, 9S, a Scanner models are made to gather information." his eyes laid on the person at his side. "While this is Unit Number 2 Type B, 2B. Battler, Attacker, Gunner and Executioner Types are efficient in battling."

He didn't mention that B types were what turned out to be the fusion of A and G types, and that Number 16 was the only Gunner of the YoRHa type of android, but she was a prototype still. And also, he refused to say what E types were truly made for, and that 2B had been one.

Because she refused to be seen as 2E anymore.

Besides, she was never 2E to him, she wasn't fit for this.

Robin was another story, but even though she fit the role of Executioner, since she had been an assassin, she still was too kind for that.

Made him wonder why, and if other E types were similar.

If what they did was just meant to hurt them. Was that why they ended up going crazy then?

Perhaps.

"We're two former Operator Types." 6O began speaking, holding 21O's shoulders. "Our duty was to guide our assisted units, but now we converted to a B type, and myself as an H type, a Healer, I'm in charge of maintenance." she explained, even though she wasn't all that expert yet.

"You can call us either 6O and 21O, or 6H and 21B." even though their friends didn't use the new names, they were the more correct ones now.

They were just attached to the old ones.

After all they used those way more than the new ones, though it didn't matter as long as they were themselves.

"While us four are a group of older YoRHa prototypes, part of the first squadron ever deployed." Number 21 then proceeded to point at each of them. "Attacker Number 2, Attacker Number 4, Gunner Number 16, and myself Scanner Number 21."

Even though she was the one talking, she always felt to address herself last, out of respect for her comrades, since she was still metaphorically the youngest, but also a matter of training and personality, that put them before her.

"As prototypes we use letters before our number, unlike those who followed us, but we are used to calling each other just by number." it was what they did in their squadron, even when all of them were still alive.

A little machine pulled at Robin's long skirt.

"And you, lady with pretty eyes?"

She was tempted to lie about her name, but something told her that A2 wouldn't agree. She could already feel her glare into her back as if she already knew what she was going to try to say.

Probably neither the others, since they had always used her actual name instead of her YoRHa one, so the machines would eventually hear them calling her.

"Well, my YoRHa Unit title would be Number 26 Type E, but my friends call me Robin." or well… everyone really.

And in the end it was still her name, the one her mother gave her.

At the reveal the small machines tilted their heads.

"Why some of your friends don't have names?" one of them was bold enough to ask.

Right, the other YoRHa were still nameless, which brought a question…

"Rose, why haven't you given them their names?" Daisy asked, she'd been there when she made that promise to Number 2 and Number 4.

She didn't want to think the worst thing happened.

"Do not worry Daisy, I haven't forgotten about the promise I made to them." she hadn't forgotten about the names.

Yet the four YoRHa prototypes had yet to receive their own name.

"On the topic I want to ask, why don't my comrades have names either?" they were in the server, no?

A2 could get why not her, she wasn't dead and had been far away, but the mission was long done, so why not them either?

"You should ask them about that, but, to make it easy they didn't want their names because you weren't there."

"It was all or none, Number 2." Number 4 pointed out.

It always had been, and also, Rose had made the promise because she had asked, and because she saw the humanity in Number 2 that she offered them their own name.

"Are you for real?" A2 could feel her eyes watering.

"Of course!" Number 4 gave her a bright smile, as did the other two, or well, as bright as they could manage, the Scanner in particular.

"But to answer the question, the reason why I haven't kept my promise yet, besides the fact we have been busy, and that I haven't found the right moment to do so, is that now you four aren't the only ones without a name anymore, right?"

And Rose was referring to the other four YoRHa that also were still going by their letters and numbers.

"You'd give a name to us too?" 6O brightened at the prospect of receiving a name. "Is it going to be a pretty flower like you all?"

She loved flowers.

"Of course." the Resistance Leader nodded. "I believe you can all agree with me if I say that it would be unfair if it would be a thing reserved for just four of you, even though I do intend to keep my promise."

"But like Number 4 said, all or none, right?"

And that they could agree, at least A2 and her friends did, as they nodded.

"I'd rather wait longer than create an inequality in the group." The Scanner spoke for the others, and like she said, it would put them above the newer models, in terms of affection.

Not a good thing.

"It is unnecessary." 21O stated, going against what her predecessor thought.

Odd, given the personality.

"No, I don't believe so. After all we're supposed to live together, you deserve good things as much as everyone else does, no matter what you've done in the past." and Rose felt the need to point out that last part, mostly because of the E types.

One in particular.

And one particular one too.

Because as she said so she could feel Robin's different eyes staring at her, proving her point. She knew that inwardly the human still felt undeserving, so she had to make sure to make her point more often.

Until she understood for good.

If anything, she may even be helpful for her purpose.

"All right, if you say so." the Operator turned Battler yielded, after all she couldn't deny this to 6O, it'd be cruel.

And she was positive that 9S wanted this just as much, and maybe 2B too, even if she didn't express herself on the matter.

But Number 2s were alike much like Number 21s were, if A2 accepted the deal, or better she made it with Rose originally, then her successor wouldn't mind receiving a name too she assumed.

Sisters were sisters after all.

At least those two called themselves as such already.

"And who are you?" finally the machines noticed the oddity between them, Emil and his head.

"I'm Emil, and I'm their friend." he simply answered, not feeling like explaining in detail what he was, for now at least.

But he reminded them the reason they were here.

Or one of them.

"Right, we were here also to ask if you knew how to find spare parts to make a new body, we don't need cores or anything, just something to make a decent thing that Emil could use."

"THE FOREST MACHINES!" their animal loving friend shouted at 9S' question, startling some of them.

"Right, you killed them, I forgot." honestly Robin was surprised at how many things happened since then, that made her forget the smaller things.

Though she shouldn't.

"Those would work fine." even if dead Emil could just attach them to his body, no need to have them working, he'll make them work with magic. He just needed the limbs to be at least good enough to be decent to move.

So that they wouldn't just crumble as soon as someone touched them.

But that wasn't the only thing they were here to ask.

"Pascal, there's more I mean to ask, and I want you all to listen well, okay?" Robin asked but he just nodded, hoping it wouldn't be something bad.

"I'll make this short, I have intention to attempt to return home, to my world, my planet, but… I won't be alone." she motioned to the androids at her sides.

"We have a plan to make it happen, we mean to look for a new home, for all of us, in a place that can actually offer us something more than what this planet has, and a chance to actually hope for a better future, and a better purpose."

"I understand…" but Robin shook her head, already knowing he was thinking the opposite to what she wanted to say.

"I meant to ask if you'd be willing to come with us. You and your village."

As she expected, he was surprised to hear these words, proving her point that he thought they'd leave him here.

Never, if he wanted.

"You'd do this for us?"

"Of course, you are my friend too." she took a glance at the machines around them. "We could build another village, better and bigger than this one, if you want."

And one that didn't speak of painful memories.

"We… we'll think about it." she nodded at him.

"Now, we have some guardians to get rid of, don't we?" at least the one residing at the Tower.

"Can we leave Emil here? Would you help him with his body issues?" so hopeful when they returned he would have what he needed, instead of spending time with them.

Robin felt they could handle at least one guardian without him.

They were many after all.

And then after this ordeal the Resistance androids would part ways with them to work on the project that could one day bring all of them to Robin's planet, so his assistance may be needed when that time came.

"We'll take him to the forest." Pascal took Emil in his arms. "Thank you." the boy smiled, or well he tried too.

But his grin looked like it became bigger for a moment, somehow.

"Right, then let's see what these guardians are made of."

And what they had in store for them.
