After returning from their meal, the ambassadors and the former students returned to their retelling of their story.

When the adventurers returned to Goron City, they were greeted as heroes. Bludo declared them all true Goron brothers and sisters, and the Gorons threw a feast in their honor. Of course, given that the Goron diet consisted of rocks, Link decided to do the cooking for the humans himself.

Bludo had a cask of Goron ale brought out. Link found it completely impossible to drink, and he signaled his friends to politely decline the stuff.

The Gorons had brought out several drums of varying shapes and sizes, and danced to the beat of the drums. At some point Raphael found himself beating one of the drums. He didn't play it very well, but none of the Gorons seemed to mind.

The next day, the Goron blacksmith, Rohan, agreed to make Edelgard a suit of heavy armor and an axe, as her sword had been damaged in the fight with the Blight, as well as a shield for Link. However, if the Rising Sun Company wanted equipment for the members who hadn't entered Rudania, Rohan said, then they would have to pay for it.

A short minecart ride took them down to the southern mine, where they met up with some Gorons that they recognized from the trip up to Goron City with Boldon, as well as some they hadn't met during their first stop there, in particular a pair of Gorons that Link found himself speaking to on the evening of the second day.

"Do you ever venture outside of Death Mountain?" Link asked the Goron across from him. They sat beside a small fire that Link had made and used to cook up a meal for himself and his friends. They were joined by another Goron, this one only a child, who wore a yellow hardhat, as all of the Goron miners did while in the mines.

"Nope. I've been down to the trading outpost a couple times," said the Goron, taking off his hardhat and scratching the top of his head.

"Greyson always says he wants to travel, though!" the younger Goron said excitedly.

"Pelison, don't—"

"And you're always complaining that you're tired of digging tunnels all day long."

"That's not—"

"And that you want to help people! Brother, I think we should do it."

Link had met Pelison first. The young Goron had been excitable and launched right into an explanation of how his older brother, Greyson, was really excited to meet Link because he wanted to, one day, help people just like Link had helped the Gorons. After speaking with Link, Pelison had gone off to fetch Greyson and tell him what had been proposed.

"What about all of our friends?" Greyson asked, replacing his hardhat.

"We can make new ones. Come on, Greyson. They need our help!"

"Well, I guess it couldn't hurt to leave the mountain… We can always come back after we're finished."

And with that, Link found the Bolson Construction Company its Goron help. He even managed to find not one, but two Gorons that adhered to the company's strict naming conventions.

"Where are you going next?" Yunobo asked Link.

"Back to the Foothill Stable," Link told Yunobo. "We have to meet with the rest of the company. We'll probably stay and train for a while; I think Daruk has some things he can teach our axemen and brawlers. After that...probably west, to free Vah Medoh next."

"That sounds like a good plan," Yunobo said.

"There is one place I want to go first before we leave, though," Link said.

With Yunobo's help, Link eventually found the location where he had taken one of the pictures on the Slate.

They were surrounded by the corpses of monsters. They had come after the two of them, and had paid for it with their lives. However, one of them, a blue Lynel, had grazed him with its spear. Princess Zelda was treating the injury.

"That cut doesn't look too bad, actually. You're fine for now," she said as she bandaged the wound. "But you know, there's a fine line between courage and recklessness. As brave as you are, that does not make you immortal."

Link tried to stay as neutral as possible. "I didn't have much choice other than to fight, Your Grace."

"Please, I have told you, outside of court, there is no need for you to be so formal, Link," she told him.

"I'm sorry...Princess Zelda," Link kept the title as a reminder.

"It seems that, not only is the frequency of these types of attacks on the rise," Zelda surmised, "but the scale of beasts we are facing is intensifying as well. I fear that-I fear that this is an omen that portends the return of Calamity Ganon."

She stood and dusted herself off. "And, if that's the case, I'm ready to expect the worst. We'll need to make preparations as soon as possible."

Link put his hand on the hilt of the Master Sword. "We knew this wouldn't be easy."

Zelda looked at him. "Link...thank you. For being here with me."

Link nodded. "Always."

When he returned to the present, Link stared at Hyrule Castle, caught in Calamity Ganon's grip, where he knew Zelda was waiting for him.

"I'm coming," he whispered. "Just hold on. I'll be there as soon as I can."

With that, he and Yunobo began their return to Foothill Stable to meet with the others.
