Chapter 2: A Red Haired Girl and Her Pony!

For Annie Bramley, life in the city was normal for any fourteen year old, Caucasian girl. Her school life was good, she had great friends, and her hobbies were fun to do. Her family was relatively normal with her family being fruit stand sellers.

Speaking of her family...

Her dad George Bramley, sells fruit at his family's stand and while he is a bit grumpy most of the time, he was a good and caring man deep down.

Her mother Helen, looked after the chickens. She is the kinder one of her parents, always wanting to help her daughter and her family with whatever they needed.

There was one more member of the Bramley family that she enjoyed being around with, in fact she was always around him.

Her pet, which was a brown, scruffy maned, long necked, pony that could talk named... Pony.

Pony is the Bramley girl's best friend, An unpredictable and hilarious pony that cares about her and vice versa. While he doesn't look before he leaps sometimes and is often reckless, wild, and immature (much to George's annoyance), Pony has a good heart all things considered.

She's stick by him through thick and thin in spite of the consequences from her friend's well intentioned but still really reckless antics, both for him and Annie and others.

In the Bramley's apartment building, the parents were already fast asleep as their red haired daughter and her pet/best friend were just about to do the same. Annie was on her phone talking to a friend of hers and Pony's while the animal sharing the room with her was watching her and waiting for her to finish her call so that she could turn off the light.

"Me and Pony are about to go sleep, Heston." The 13 year old girl said in her phone to one of friends who she had a crush on.

"Okay, I understand, I'll see you at school tomorrow Annie." The teen said as he then ended the call on his phone.

Annie turned her own phone off and placed it own the dresser with the lamp next to it. She then turned the lamp off as she turned to her pet, who was staring at her, much to her confusion.

"What's with the smug look, Pony?" Annie asked as she raised an eyebrow at the horse.

"When are you going to tell him how you feel, Annie?" The horse said, wiggling his eyebrows at his owner before he began to make kissy faces.

Annie's face became a beet red as she instantly knew what her pet was talking about. It was no surprise either as for a while, Annie has had a crush on Henston over the past 5 years but she never bring herself to actually confess her love for the gamer teen. When she told Pony about it, she had to tackle him to the ground and cover his mouth while demanding that he doesn't tell him about it as she wanted to be the one to tell him herself.

Little did the red haired girl know, Heston felt the same way about her but he was just waiting for the right moment to tell her.

"Ugh! I don't know Pony, is that what you want to hear?!" Annie said in annoyance as fell back onto her pillow.

"No, that isn't what I wanted to hear." The pony said as it was incredibly obviously yet clueless.

"Well, I don't know Pony, okay!" Annie yelled out, her frustration having reach its peak. "Maybe soon, maybe tomorrow, maybe someday or not at all. I just don't KNOW!"

She yelled that last word as loud as she could as she blinked away the oncoming tears in her eyes before she took a deep breath to calm herself and hope her and her family's whole apartment building didn't wake up because of her fear of getting rejected by the boy she loves.

She would just die of embarrassment if that happened.

Luckily, her parents didn't come bursting through the door so thankfully it didn't happen.

"Noticing this, she sighed a bit. "I'm sorry Pony, I didn't mean to yell at you. I just..." She apologized before Pony cut her off.

Pony rushed to Annie's side and wrapped his forelegs around her in a soft embrace to which his human immediately reciprocated with an equally soft yet a bit tightly embrace.

"Shh, shh, it's okay Annie. Pony's here." Pony said as he gently stroked his best friend's red hair with one of his hooves. "Finding out your feelings and love in general can be really frustrating and downright stressful at times." He explained as he continued to hold his best buddy in his embrace, not that the red haired girl wasn't letting go of her pet either. "You don't have to tell him tomorrow or even later then that, but you should tell him before another girl catches his interest, just saying."

"Ugh, Pony!" Annie began but was cut off once more.

"Now, now, I know it was too soon to say that Annie, but hear me out okay?" Pony insisted.

Annie wanted to chew him but decided out of curiosity to listen what the talking horse had to say, so she nodded to indicate that he could say what he wanted to say.

"Now, I'm not saying Heston would go for another girl like Beatrice or Clara, but I am saying that's it's a possibility. School has that type of drama after all." Pony explained. "I'm just saying you should tell him, when you want of course, and whether or not he reciprocates your feelings is all up to him. After all, love is a choice, not an ultimatum."

The young Caucasian girl's eyes widened at her pet's surprisingly brilliant wisdom, and yet she smiled as she and Pony then released each other from their embrace after having spending a few minutes doing that.

"Thanks Pony. I'll be sure to tell him as soon as I find the right time." Annie said, petting Pony's scruffy mane. "Goodnight Pony."

"Goodnight Annie." Pony said as he headed back to his pile of hay and laid down in it, falling asleep almost instantly.

Annie followed suit seconds later.
