Previously on "Dreams of Destiny", when our favorite blue haired adventurer goes to sleep one night, what began as a dream for her, her mother, and her friends quickly turned into a nightmare...
Luckily, assistance has come in the form of Steven Universe and Lion, who Hilda decided to help them find out who was causing not just their dreams, but the dreams of others to get all messed up and mashed together...
As Hilda's mother and the rest of her friends created a distraction for Trundle and the army of ghosts that popped up out of nowhere, Hilda and Steven managed to escape with Lion's portal making skills...
The story continues now!
Chapter 7: The Dream World: Part 2!
A magic pink portal opened up within the dreamscape as Lion, along with Steven and Hilda who were riding on his back, jumped through it. The feline skidded across the roof of a tall building a bit before coming to a stop.
"Lion, why'd you bring us here on top on this building?" Steven asked his pink, feline friend.
Lion, not saying a word, growled at something in the distance.
Looking in the direction Lion was looking in, Hilda and Steven's eyes widened in shock as saw an even bigger group of ghosts heading down the street the building they were on was on the left side of.
"Oh you have got to be kidding me." Hilda groaned as she pulled out her sword.
"Now Hilda, you can complain later, right now we got a fight on our hands." Steven teased before he summoned his shield once more.
However, instead of engaging the two, the ghosts... just flew right past them, almost completely ignoring them entirely.
"Are they ignoring us?" Steven asked as he scratched the back of his head in utter confusion.
"Maybe, but perhaps we can use that to our advantage." Hilda said as she pointed her finger in the direction where the ghosts are flying. "They must be flying in that direction for a reason."
It then clicked in Steven's head.
"Oh, okay, that makes sense. Wherever they're heading to, there has to be more dreamers we can help." Steven theorized.
"Exactly!" Hilda responded.
"Alright, Lion, you know what to do." Steven ordered his magical pet.
Lion nodded as he used the magic within his lungs to roar up another portal, jumping through it with the two chosen warriors riding on his back.
Annie and Pony's Dreams!
"How did get so messed up in a matter of seconds?"
That was what Annie and Pony were thinking as they were trying to figure out how it all went wrong so fast. A few minutes ago, the duo were having a normal, yet slightly chaotic day in their city, the next they were surrounded by strange, big, ghostly adversaries.
Annie used the powers of the dream realm to summon a pair of wrist blasters as she shot ghost after ghost that came near her and her pony.
Speaking of Pony, he used dream realm's possibility shattering abilities to conjure up a unicorn horn on his head to also blast away any ghost that was stupid enough to come near him and his human.
But despite the duo's teamwork, it was pretty apparent that the two were going get overwhelmed soon if things didn't change for them.
"There's too many of them!" Pony said as he blasted a ghost back as he nearly collapsed onto his hooves. "I think... we need a... change of plans, Annie."
"I agree Pony," Annie said as she blasted a ghost through the mouth with so much ammo that it exploded in thin air. "These things are like cockroaches! One goes down, twelve take its place a few seconds later."
Annie was starting to get exhausted the more she fired away at the advancing ghosts, Pony was as well, but they needed to hold out for as long as they could.
They could NOT wake up yet!
Suddenly, if they asked for a miracle (which neither of them didn't ask for out loud but hoped for), a pink portal manifested in between the combatants as Lion, Hilda and Steven jumped through it.
"What on Earth is this?" Pony asked in astonishment as he watched Lion chewed on a ghost.
"Looks like we made it in time." Steven said in relief as he threw his shield at a row of ghosts.
'Not that we don't appreciate the help, but who are you people?" Annie said as she rested her weaponized arm on Pony's body.
"Listen, I know you two have a lot of questions, but now's not the time for that." Hilda stated to the two as she chopped a ghost in half right down the middle. "Get on the Lion, now."
Annie climbed onto the pink feline's back but Pony was having a bit of trouble.
"How do I get on?" Pony asked.
"Climb into his mane, trust me, it'll make sense when you do." Steven said, not turning around as he blocked a ghost's punch using his shield.
Pony put a hoof on his fellow animal's mane, which glowed pink when his hoof came into contact with it, causing the horse to scoot back a bit in surprise.
Lion purred a bit before nodding his had, signaling Pony that it was okay and that there was nothing to be afraid of.
Taking the feline's word for it, Pony cautiously put a hoof into the animal's mane as he watched it glow once more. Deciding to continue, he slowly reached into Lion's mane before putting his other hoof into it, as it disappeared into the feline's mane.
"Take a deep breath. You won't be able to breathe in there. I know." Steven chimed in as he nearly forgot to them that important detail.
Listening to the hybrid, Pony took a deep breath and shoved his head deep into Lion's mane, with the rest of his body soon following him in there.
"Pony?" Annie said concerned.
Annie didn't see Pony come out of Lion's mane after a few seconds, so she climbed off his back and being careful not to go all the way in, shoved her hands and her head into the wildcat's mane.
Inside Lion's mane, Annie looked around and quickly found a pink fields that had two hills in there.
She also remembered that she couldn't breathe so she held her breath as she looked around to try and find her friend.
Hearing muffled sounds, she looked to right and saw Pony rolling around on the pink colored grass in a panic.
"PONY!" Annie screamed before she had to hold her breath once more.
Luckily, her scream got Pony's attention as he ran towards his owner quickly before accidentally tackling them both out of the pink dimension... well almost as Pony's four legs were still in there.
Once falling out of Lion's mane, getting up and dusting herself off, Annie saw her pony's long neck and head poking out of Lion's mane before she climbed back onto Lion once she realized that Pony was secure.
"Pony secured!" Annie called out.
Hilda sliced an approaching ghost's arm off as she responded. "Good. I was starting to get a little irritated." She said before she turned towards her new, albeit temporary, partner, who was attempting to fight off the ghosts that were currently all over him. "Steven. Annie and Pony are secure. It's time to go!"
Steven, hearing this, summoned a pink bubble that had sharp spikes all over it for offensive capabilities, which he used to push the ghosts surrounding them back as much as he could.
Not giving the ghosts a chance to renew their spectral assault on the half gem, Steven floated over his new, yet still fire forged companions and immediately climbed onto the feline's back.
Lion knew the drill as he roared up another portal, even without Steven giving the order, as he jumped through it, albeit a bit slowly due to the extra weight.
Ed's Dream!
Ed, dressed as Lothar the Viking, was fighting against wave after wave of spirits as he was alone. He didn't remember dreaming up a situation like this as it was his dream.
His actual dream before it all went down the drain was just a normal day in the Cul-de-sac with his two friends Eddy and Double D. They were walking down the street as they wanted to go to the candy store to buy really big jawbreakers that they could fit in their mouths.
No joke.
They were soon joined by May, Ed's girlfriend, as it turned out to also be going to the candy store in order to get fudge for her and her sisters. And to make sure that she didn't forget, they gave her a paper simply saying: Fudge!
Despite still not trusting May for everything that her, Marie and Lee did to him, Ed and Edd, as well as the other kids of the Cul-de-sac kids many years back, Eddy decided to go along with it because Ed threatened to ditch him if the loudmouthed Ed boy didn't.
That's right, in the past five years since the confrontation with Eddy's older brother, Ed learned how to grow a spine as well as Double D has, and since tried to balance his new found assertiveness with his undying loyalty to the people he cares about.
No more blind obedient, moronic Ed boy.
Anyways getting back to the dream Ed was having, after walking and turning threw multiple streets as well as saying hello to some of their friends as they passed by them like Johnny and Plank, Rolf, and Kevin, the Eds and May finally made it the candy store.
Eddy was just about to open the door when it suddenly burst open flinging Eddy backwards , causing him to knock over May and Double D in the process.
What they saw scared them, it was a big, green, somewhat blinded ghost.
But Ed was not scared. He had been waiting for something like this to occur for most of his life.
"May!" Ed called out to his girlfriend. "Get yourself and my buddies to safety!" He then closed his eyes and focused his mind as he felt his clothes change into his Lothar costume and the spatula manifesting into his hands before opening his eyes and glaring at the ghost. "I will handle this!"
Ed then lunged at the ghost with spatula in hand as he whacked the spectral lump in the chest with it, sending it flying backwards into the one of the candy store's barrels, knocking it over and causing it's contents to spill out all over the floor as a result of this course of action.
Ed was shocked when he discovered that this ghost wasn't alone as there were other ghosts in the store who looked just like him.
The ghosts hissed at Ed before charging at him all at once.
"This might be a problem." Ed thought to himself before getting into a fighting stance. "But nothing I shouldn't be able to handle." He then thought as he charged into the wave of ghosts...
Getting back to the present, Ed was hit in the back of the head by a ghost, causing him to stumble forward a bit before he found himself being dog piled on by multiple ghosts all at once, pinning him to the ground.
Ed tried to use his colossal strength to break free from the wraith's grip, but their strength was too much, even for him.
Ed opened his eyes and saw three ghosts in a triangle formation stacked on top of each other, but that wasn't all as he saw them charge up energy into their mouths.
It didn't take someone with common sense to understand what that meant.
Just as Ed closed his eyes as he knew that this would be it for him, a miracle happened...
A concussive and loud roar broke through the air as the pink energy slammed into the pile of ghost stacked on top of each other as they were knocked into the group of ghosts that were pinning the Ed boy to the ground, knocking them over and allowing their victim to get free.
"Huh?" Ed said, confused at what just happened. "Who's there?"
Suddenly, Lion landed in front of the costumed Ed boy, causing to be spooked as he instinctively took out his spatula and pointed it and the Lion who Annie, Pony, Hilda and Steven were riding on.
"Whoa, whoa, take it easy dude." Pony said.
"It's okay sir." Annie said as she held up her hands up in a defensive manner. "We're to help you."
"But we're going to need you to help us first." Hilda said as she straightened her black beret on top of her head.
Ed thought of this for bit before responding in a cautious tone. "Okay, but at least tell me who you guys are first."
"I'm Hilda." Hilda introduced herself first.
"Annie." Annie introduced herself before she gestured to Pony. "And this is Pony."
"Hi." Pony greeted.
"I'm Steven," Steven introduced himself before petting Lion's head. "and this is Lion."
"I'm Ed." Ed introduced himself with a smiled. "Or here, I'm am Lothar! Slayer of Evil, destroyer of doom, protector of the Cul-de-sac!"
The group clapped at the dramatic introduction but they noticed the group of ghosts were starting to get back up.
"Quick Lothar! Get on Lion and let's get out of here!" Steven ordered.
Ed briefly turned around and saw the ghosts began to get back up and did what he was ordered to do.
Without a second thought, Lion roared up a portal and jumped through it, taking Steven, Ed, Annie, Pony and Hilda through it.
To be continued...
