*BOOM!*
To say the atmosphere inside of the Rustbucket was a little tense was akin to calling a tsunami only a little wet. Maximilian sighed as he reached out and tapped the image of Jen on the screen littered with versions of Ben, changing the green background of it to red.
"A wild goose chase….he literally sent us on a wild goose chase just to distract us," Tsubaki whispered as she and the others sat together.
"We should've figured it out from the moment we spoke with Benzarro once he was cured," Mai scowled.
"How many did you see on him?" Noel asked.
"From what I could tell…thirty, maybe more," Makoto replied.
"That's more than he had before…" Mai whispered.
"And we still don't know why he's so bent on stealing all those Omnitrix'," Lambda added, "Ceelstialsapiens are already powerful enough as is, and yet…he's trying to obtain more power…question is why?"
=It could be that he wants to be strong enough that even a group of Celestialsapiens cannot override him= Glitch noted.
"Huh?"
=Celestialsapiens are powerful…but even they cannot overcome a group alone= Glitch explained =There is also the matter of him not showing all the powers a Celestialsapien should be capable of as well=
"Yeah…It feels like he gets more control over it with the more he collects," Makoto recalled the difference from when he had his initial amount compared to when he lost several due to them.
"...It's as if he never turned into one before," Tsubaki spoke, earning the others' attention, "We already assumed a few things back when we first fought him…needing more Omnitrixes to control it…no compassionate side for balance out the anger, but..one thing I did notice…" she paused as she looked over at the list of Ben's Maximillian had set up, "Out of the Ben's he has targeted…he made sure to leave that world's Ben tormented…as if he was forcing that type of pain onto them."
"You mean like taking away the Omnitrix?" Mai asked.
"You'd think he'd end there, but no…" she looked at the Ben icons colored yellow, "A few he had stolen let those Bens live…but he took someone precious to them to add in the sting. Almost like…"
"...like he wants them to suffer the same way he felt," Noel finished once it dawned on her, "Demo…if X-Tinction really is a Ben, what…could've happened to make him act this way?"
"We'll have to think about that later," Ben sighed as he stood up, "For now…we need to figure out just where did he go…"
"He mentioned wanting to deal with the other who destroyed the ones he had before him…" Skurd muttered, "And lord knows it certainly isn't me, of course…I hacked into the ones on him...not destroy."
"..." Ben grimaced, "I think I know who he was talking about."
"You do?" Mai asked.
"Think about it. Who do we know that has explosive issues with technology if it isn't made with him in mind or having him wear gloves made for him to handle technology?" Ben questioned.
"...Max!" the girls realized.
"Achoo!" Max sneezed just before he could take a bite of his burger, "...That was weird…"
=...Bless you= Steel deadpanned, grabbing a napkin and wiping his 'face' with it.
"You think the others are doing okay?" Sari asked.
"Of course!" Robtoboy replied as he stood up straight, "Ben is a hero...Evil-X is a bad guy, and heroes always win!"
"Love the enthusiasm, Ro," Max chuckled.
"Least we were able to pick up the slack while they're busy," Naoto spoke as he took a sip of hsi milkshake, "...The look on Billie's face when you and Ro punted his latest giant robot was and is still priceless, Max."
"I like to think I've gotten skilled with this game of back and forth with the bad guys in this town," Max laughed.
"Yeah. It honestly feels almost like Detroit," Sari noted in fondness, "Only thing needed are some Autobots and it'd feel like home."
=Give it time. Chances are some might…= Steel began before stopping =...Max…=
"Hmm?"
=He's back…=
"...That Evil Alien-X you guys told me about?" Naoto guessed as he quickly got up.
"You think he's unaware Ben's chasing him?" Sari asked as they got up.
"After what I did, I'm honestly surprised he's trying here again," Max replied as he gained his armor, "What could've tempted him to come back though?"
=My guess? Revenge= Steel replied.
"You'd be right."
"?!" the quartet jumped as they quickly turned, seeing X-Tinction floating before them.
"...What timing," Max frowned as Robotboy quickly changed into Battle Mode.
"Oh Primus…" Sari gasped, covering her mouth as she turned pale, "He…He has so many…a-and they're all crying, begging for their destruction."
"Don't worry…they'll be put to better use," X-Tinction stated.
"Not if I have anything to say about it," Max scowled, narrowing his eyes in determination.
"Then by all means…" X-Tinction began before holding a hand up just as Robotboy charged, making him tense before he fell to the ground in his powered down state, "Do something about it…"
"Ro!" Naoto exclaimed as he picked up the robot and opened the battery cover…before a pie hit him in the face, "..." it slid off, his eyes the only thing visible.
"What? Did you expect an explosion? Oh no…" X-Tinction paused before deflecting a green bolt of lightning away, "I want to wait so I can make this world's Ben suffer once his Omnitrix is mine…"
"Wh-?!" Sari began before X-Tinction swung his hand, causing her and Naoto to suddenly be sent flying and crash into a nearby store, "Ahh!"
"But first…" X-Tinction began as he glared at Max, "A little payback…for taking away all the Omnitrix I had before coming here."
"Seriously…?" Max asked as his helmet formed around his head, "You come off as some kind of petty…and the fact you went to the trouble to hurt and steal from more Ben's…I'm guessing that's not even as pathetic as it gets." he grunted as he was slammed into a wall at that.
"I'll show you pathetic…" X-Tinction scowled as he swung his hand, causing Max to come flying out and crash into a nearby car. He then crossed his arms just as Max came charging at him in his Turbo Strength mode and punched at him, only to grunt as he stopped midair, "Nice try…"
"Oh this is n-" Max began before he was telekinetically thrown away once more, X-Tinciton moving his hand as Max was sent crashing into various objects.
Well…that was painfulSteel groaned.
"He must have unlocked some new tricks…" Max grunted as he was sent flying into a light pole.
Really…I never would have guessed…
"In that case…" Max began as he got up, "Go Turbo Speed!" he declared, turning into his speed form as he rushed at X-Tinction, only to grunt when the gravity...suddenly became heavy around him.
"You honestly think I'll let you get another chance?" X-Tinction taunted as Max started to sink into the ground, "I'm not going to let you take away what rightfully belongs to me again."
"I'm touched I made a multiversal psycho hate me so much he developed random powers to stop me!" Max grunted, trying to push himself up, "This must be how Ben felt the time Vilgax came back with all those upgrades to beat his aliens…"
"?! ...That name…" X-Tinction growled as he trembled.
"Hmm?"
"Don't…you dare say that name!" X-Tinction snapped as he raised his hand up, forcing Max to be sent flying into the air before he swung his hand down, sending him crashing hard into the ground.
=Okay…that hit a big nerve…= Steel groaned.
"Agreed…" Max muffled out.
"Ceiling rumbling…barriers being deployed over houses and businesses…" Ragna muttered as he looked around with Ester, Bullet, Celica, and Minerva at Undertown, "Either the Turbo Rookie is going overboard or the Kid's back with the others."
"Probably more the former," Ester guessed, "If Ben was back…he would've left another skylight for Undertown."
"Oh joy…what could it be this time?" Ragna groaned, "Honestly I'd love to leave it alone…but with how bad this is…not checking it out would likely just cause more trouble."
"May need to head topside then," Bullet suggested before the area rumbled.
"That…" Celica began as Max fell onto the ground of Undertown, practically almost buried by the falling debris, "...or it could be coming down here…"
"I'm…okay…" Max grunted as he tried to get up, only for X-Tinction to come down from above and slam his foot into his gut, "AHH!"
Yup! Definitely hit a big nerve!Steel exclaimed before X-Tinction threw Max away before he could touch him.
"Isn't that the Celestialsapien from that report you did? The one with all those Omnitrixes?" Ester asked, her eyes going wide on seeing all the emblems on X-Tinction.
"...yeah. It is," Ragna frowned as he began to crack his knuckles, "And looks like he's got more…and wants a round 2."
"He also learned more party tricks…" Max groaned once he was thrown near them.
"So? Not l-" Ragna began as he lifted his Azure Grimoire arm up, only for it to suddenly be engulfed in a metal cast, "?!"
"Not this time, 'Grim Reaper,'" X-Tinction declared, "You didn't destroy what I have rightfully earned, but tore into something far more personal with that limb of yours."
"So what? I could still kick your ass witho-" Ragna began before he was suddenly slammed into the ground, the gravity around him increasing, "GH!"
"You were saying?" X-Tinction taunted before a kick from both Bullet and Ester hit him in the face, "...was that supposed to hurt?"
"?!" the two tensed before X-Tinction grabbed their legs and slammed them into one another, making them grunt out in pain before he tossed them away into a pair of unprotected houses.
"Pests," X-Tinction scoffed before catching a bolt of green lightning and glanced up at the top of the hole where Sari was falling down at him, shield and sword bared and sparking with Urbosa's Fury with Naoto following, "Even more pests…"
"Yeah? Well the feeling's mutual," Naoto frowned before tensing as he and Sari rolled out of the way of the bolt of lightning, causing it to destroy an empty stall.
"Ahh!" Celica yelped before Minerva shot before her, grabbing the flying debris before throwing it right at X-Tinction, who merely snapped his fingers as the broken pieces of wood burnt up into ashes.
"Okay…so…he's working with more tricks…how do we stop him?" Naoto asked Sari from behind the cover they took.
"You're asking me?" Sari blinked.
"You faced pure super evil before," Naoto pointed out, remembering her stories of Megatron.
"It was a little different!" she barked.
=Can't you do that 'speaker' stuff with those things? Find the one that's his or something?= Steel asked.
"I could if the others weren't all crying out in unison," Sari grimaced, "There's a limit to what I can handle right now."
"Okay, I would just like to say that combining technopathy and empathic abilities…sounds like a bad combination in this one hyper specific circumstance!" Naoto complained.
"Oh trust me…nanomachines are a nightmare to try to 'speak' with," Sari shuddered, "Why do you think Meltdown's still a walking disco sludge man? Too many voices hiding the core 'voice.'"
"He's shooting again!" Max shouted, picking both up and jumping away from lightning bolts, "I'm open to suggestions! 'Cause he really doesn't want us touching him again!"
"Well if I can get this…cast off...I can get some damage on him…!" Ragna grunted as he tried to get the metal cast off his arm, repeatedly banging it on a light post only for the post to fall over, "Sonuva…"
"I really hope Ben gets back home soon…with the keys to his own stupidly overpowered God Alien!" Max grunted, throwing his friends away just as a fist of stone slammed into him.
Ben barely covered his face with his arm, sneezing into the inside of it.
"Bless you," Makoto noted.
"Thanks," Ben nodded as he caught another tossed ball of paper without looking.
"How many has that been?" Makoto asked.
"Twenty-two," Ben replied as both glanced over at Tsubaki as she muttered to herself as she sat before a notepad with pencil in hand.
"Maybe NRG could melt the asphalt and…no, he'd likely switch places with NRG and trap him instead…" Tsubaki muttered, crossing something out on it.
"If you're going to suggest Ampfibian, I still haven't figured out how to read minds yet," Ben spoke up, earning a noise from Tsubaki as she crossed out what she had started to write.
"What is she doing?" Lambda asked, playing her Switch while lying on one of the 'beds.'
"It's how she deals with things like this, Lachan. You've lived with us long enough to know this," Noel noted, sitting on another 'bed' near her.
"I normally spend it with you, Robotboy, the pets, or watching TV with a combination of any of you," Lambda pointed out, "I haven't seen her like this."
"...Oh right. She hasn't done this since you started living with us," Noel recalled.
"Is this some sort of stress thing?" Lambda guessed, "If so, I thought our amazing spiritually adoptive Tennyson Grandfather fixed that problem?"
"He helped with many things…Alf, too," Noel sighed.
"...ah mou~!" Tsubaki exclaimed as she facefaulted into the table, "I can't think of anything! There has to be some way we can beat him, but…no matter what I think up, he'll have a counter for that!"
"...Godzilla Threshold," Lambda stated.
"Hm?" Mai looked at the blonde.
"Godzilla," Lambda pointed at Ben's Omnitrix.
"...Lambda, you know I can't control Alien X," Ben sighed.
"Because of Serena and Bellicus always debating, right?" Makoto pointed out.
"It's the one thing they always do…outside of getting annoyed with me," Ben replied.
"Can't you just…get them to agree and help you fight?" Makoto asked.
"It's really not that simple," Ben sighed, "They're very….technical. And I think one of them hates me.."
"...What of your grandmother?" Lambda spoke up.
"Grandma Verdona?" Ben blinked as Maxamilion flinched.
"...AHA!" Tsubaki realized as she shot up, "Full grown Anodites are as strong as Celestialsapiens!" she reached for a pencil and paper and began to write down some strategies, "If we could get a hold of her, she could use a spell to weaken X-Tinction since Celestialsapies don't do well against magic."
"...You mean like with Ragna's Azure Grimoire?" Mai asked.
"Precisely. Seithr, as dangerous it is, it still has a from of magical power," Tsubaki explained, "From what I've manage to read about it, the Azure Grimoire allows the wielder to focus the Seithr collected within into a physical force to attack the enemy with, as shown by Ragna and a few of his moves when he uses it in combat."
"Grandpa…how do we call Grandma?" Ben asked, making Maximilian flinch a little again, "Please tell me you know how…cause I swear if this is like the: You never actually got married revelation…"
"He's not our only means right?" Noel asked.
"No, I got Gwen as a backup plan…" Ben whispered to the others, making Tsubaki calm down and breathe.
"Okay…we have a gameplan at least," Tsubaki sighed in relief as she put the pencil down, "Gltich, what's our ETA to our home Dimension?"
=Fifteen minutes= Glitch replied.
"And if I went Upgrade?" Ben asked.
=Seven minutes, thirty seconds so long as you do not get distracted and cause us to overshoot the exit. However, I advise against doing such in order to assist in distraction maneuvers against X-Tinction=
"Good idea. We'll need as much power as we need until we can get into contact with Verdona," Tsubaki nodded, "Hopefully Max and the others can hold him off until we arrive."
"Okay! This! Sucks!" Max shouted as he and his clones were currently being juggled by X-Tinction.
=I'm getting reminded of that movie they dubbed from three different movies from Japan involving kids and digital monsters!= Steel exclaimed
"How…do you think…I feel?!" Ester grunted, her arms currently tied around herself, Naoto, and Sari as they were trapped against a pillar of rock.
"It feels weird having it be this quiet beside you," Bullet noted, her head sticking out of a wall with Ragna right beside her, wrapped up in several light posts…with his mouth missing.
"MMMMMMMM!-!-!-!" Ragna gave a muffled yell as he tried to get himself free, 'The activation code for the Azure Grimoire just had to be vocal and not mental…'
"Oh this is starting to not look good," Celica whispered, holding a deactivated Robotboy in her arms as she and Minerva hid behind some cover with the larger robot standing defensively before Celica, "If only Ben were here…he'd show this bully whatfor."
"..."
"Oh don't doubt him, Minerva. He's always pulled through."
"..."
"...Ooh…good point. Maybe an Anodite could help," Celica nodded before tapping her cheek in thought, "But how do we get into contact with one? Maybe Kokonoe…"
"AaaaaaaHHH!" Max screamed as he was sent crashing into a wall near her, making her flinch in surprise, "...I'm okay…"
=Make the universe stop rotating…I wanna get off~= Steel groaned as a swirl mark replaced his eye.
"Oh dear," Celica gasped before X-Tinction appeared before Max, "?!".
"You…You ready to give up?" Max asked in his groaning.
"Depends…is your spirit crushed yet?"
"Nope."
"A shame…for you, that is," X-Tinxtion said before he swung, causing Max to shoot forward as he was sent dragging along the ground.
"Hey!" X-Tinction turned to glare down at Celica, who glared back at him in return, "You big bully! Just what did Ben do to make you such a grumpy man, hm?!"
"...Simple," he began as he leaned in close to her face, "He has what rightfully belongs to me…his Omnitrix."
"Gh…Wait, is she actually talking down to that thing like a kid…" Max groaned trying to lift his head up.
"Celica, get out of there!" Sari called out.
"No! You don't run away from a bully!" Celica argued before glaring back at X-Tinction, "And Ben's Omnitrix isn't rightfully yours! You can't take things that don't belong to you!"
"Oh I can…and have done so," X-Tinction countered as Minerva quickly punched him, making him barely move an inch, "Once I have your Ben's Omnitrix and finished with this world, I'll move onto the next and take another one."
"Well that's still wrong," Celica frowned, "Your family will be really disappointed in you to find out you're stealing and hurting people."
"...my….my family…?" X-Tinction repeated….before growling as he grabbed Celica by the neck, "Don't you dare mention them to me…!" he growled before backhanding Minerva away, sending her crashing into the wall Bullet and Ragna were stuck in.
"Celica!" Ester, Naoto, and Sari exclaimed.
"I should kill you here and now…" X-Tinction growled as he glared at Celica….who continued to keep her own glare on her face, despite being choked by the evil Celestialsapien, "...how are you not scared?!"
"Because I'm not afraid of you," Celica frowned, "In fact…I feel sorry for you."
"Sorry? Sorry?! For me?!" X-Tinction snapped as he tightened his grip, making her grunt a bit, "I can erase you atom by atom…I can turn you into dust, and leave nothing behind! And you feel sorry for me?!"
"I do…" Celica grunted as she kept an eye shut, "Because…ngh…you never got to say goodbye."
"Continue…and I will rip out your throat…" X-Tinction snarled as his eyes glowed menacingly.
"No…I can tell...you're hurting," Celica whispered, "You lost someone…dear to you...didn't you?"
"I SAID SHUT UP!" X-Tinction snapped as he thrusted his hand at her, only for a blur to suddenly pass by and grabbed her, "?!"
"Seriously, Celica…" FastTrack began as he skid to a halt, putting a coughing Celica down, "You were really pushing yourself there."
"You know me…I hate bullies," Celica giggled while rubbing her throat.
"...I was wondering when you'd show up," X-Tinction frowned as FastTrack glared back at him, "Where's the rest of your pathetic group?"
"Eh, they have things better to do than deal with you," FastTrack shrugged.
"So you're going to fight me alone?"
"Well, you say 'alone,' I say 'I doubt you can really win'…" he sighed before running off away from the others, "Bet ya can't catch me~!" he slapped his rear before dashing away.
"Grrr!" X-Tinction flew after rather than do anything to drag him back.
"Why…?" Sari began.
"Shh…" Celica hushed, "Let's not tempt fate."
"...Noted…" Bullet muttered, both her and Ragna currently trapped underneath the rubble…and Minerva as she just laid there.
=You think he has a plan?= Steel asked.
"Well I can hope," Celica replied, "Now then…would you help me dig up Ragna, Bullet, and Minerva? We need to ask Grandfather Max about his wife."
"Huh? His wife?" Ester blinked.
"I remembered something about her!" Celica beamed as she walked over to a pile of rubble…before Max picked her up and put her at another pile, "...I knew it was this one. I was just testing you."
"Sure you did…" Max deadpanned.
"Whoo! Missed me!" FastTrack laughed as he avoided a swipe from X-Tinction, quickly turning the corner as the Omnitrix hunting Celestialsapien gave chase.
"Grrr…You are just prolonging the…-Gah!" X-Tinction flinched when he was smacked upside the back of his head by FastTrack looping around.
"Your mistake this time, buddy…I'm not like a lot of Ben's…I've had a lot more hard lessons drilled into my head…" FastTrack chuckled, tossing a boot at X-Tinction making him growl, "Like Boot to the head!" the evil Celestialsapien moved to attack only to flinch when a second boot formed from thin air and struck him, making him stumble, "Oh holy crap…he helped…" the good alien chuckled before running off.
"Tch…Don't you dare run from me!" X-Tinction snapped as he flew after him, "One way or another, your Omnitrix will be mine!"
"Get in line, buddy! A lot of people are!" FastTrack quipped, "Vilgax especially!"
"GRRRAAAAAGH!"
"Oh that apparently hit a big nerve," Skurd whispered.
"Yeah…it did…" FastTrack smirked before calling out to X-Tinction, "You know at least good old Vilgax gives me nightmares, unlike you! Dude, Alien X is covered in sparkly stars! You look at home in some sort of space disco! Unlike Vilgy who looks like old cosmic horror~" he kept jumping to avoid thrown objects, "Want me to call him? I know how to tempt fate enough that he'll show up~. Trust me, it happens all the time!" he stood on a street light, holding his hand up to his head like a phone, "I mean it's kinda scary…my Vilgax is proudly one of the scarier ones!"
"STOP SAYING THAT MURDERER'S NAME!" X-Tinction roared as he slammed his hand on the ground, causing a massive wave of spikes to come rushing towards FastTrack as it tore up everything in its wake.
"Why? 'Cause no matter how many Bens you hurt…deep down you still have bad dreams of the big bad Vilgax?" FastTrack flashed as he turned into Big Chill and phased through all the spikes, "What…still not sure you can handle him? Not enough Omnitrixes to make up for the fact he is the big bad boogeyman in your heart?" he taunted shooting freezing beams from his hands that trapped X-Tinction from the waist down in ice, "Cause beating Vilgax has been chump time for me. I didn't even need an Omnitrix once…and Never needed Alien X…"
"...That's the difference between us…unlike you…" X-Tinction began as he glared at him, "I killed my Vilgax…"
"Yeah…well that would have been easy, wouldn't it?" Big Chill phased away and turned invisible, "But being me is never easy…" he kept talking as X-Tinction searched around for him, "What…I'm just supposed to take that road and decide those things for people? What…because I can be a god if I wanted…nah…I don't think I need to do that. Because I'm Ben Tennyson…I'm better than all the scum of the universe…and the multiverse who come after my Omnitrix."
"...I was Ben 10 once upon a time, too…but he died…" X-Tinction paused as his hand shot up and grabbed the air, making Big Chill grunt as he reappeared, "He died the day Vilgax murdered our Grandfather and Gwen."
"?!" Big Chill's eyes widened at that before he was tossed away, "Gh!" he coughed a bit as he rubbed his neck where he was grabbed, "So…you are me…It wasn't clear, but at the same time it was really obvious, huh?" he narrowed his eyes, "The stealing of the Omnitrixes…hurting those Bens in one way or another…you're mad that we still have them and the Omnitrix while yours are gone."
"...If I lose everything…then so should every other Ben," X-Tinction growled, "Why should they have a happy life while I lost the ones I cared about?! Why should they hold such a power they don't deserve!? I decided since that day…I would take all the Omnitrixes in the multiverse, and make sure all versions of Ben 10 suffer the same way I did!"
"I can see why you're so mad…yeah…that sounds like a raw deal. I can't lie…if I lost Grandpa or Gwen, I probably would have ripped Vilgax apart…or anyone who took them away…and yeah, I know how much of a hypocrite that makes me sound with all I've told you. But the difference is…what I feel and what I do…have to be two different things. No matter what I feel…how much my heart wants to do something in the moment…I need my brain…and my friends to stop me," Big Chill frowned sadly, "You're me…We grew up with the same Grandpa who told us the same stories while we went fishing. He did his best to guide us into being a good man. So yeah, each time I have that angry thought of what I could do to someone with my Omnitrix…I hear his voice telling me to stop. I know you hear it, too…you just choose not to listen."
"Shut up…Stop it…" X-Tinction put his hands to his head, "He's gone! He's not here! I don't have a Grandpa to make me into a great hero like you did!" he swung his hands out as a force of gravity pushed Big Chill and slammed him into a building, "You don't know what I feel…you're not me! I'm not you!" he roared as he lifted a giant chunk of concrete and tossed it into Big Chill.
The giant slab of stone began trembling before Armadrillo flew out and punched X-Tinction to the ground and then through it.
"Yeah…" the good Alien shapeshifter sighed as he pinned X-Tinction down with a sad look in his eyes, "I'm not you…but I know what it feels like to go without Grandpa…yeah, it worked out for me…but when I lost him…I didn't have the time to be angry or sad; the world needed me…so I had to man up." he was pushed back before what seemed like a small sun slammed into him and exploded.
"Needed us? What about what I needed?! I needed them! But I have to be the one Ben Tennyson who suffers the most!?" X-Tinction formed another ball of burning plasma before he shot it into the smoke cloud, only to flinch as something caught and held it.
"I'm not saying it's fair…you lost a lot…and I didn't…That's not fair!" Feedback spoke as he held the mass of energy in his hands before absorbing it, "But Grandpa would not want you doing this! He'd never want this! You know that!" he aimed his hands and blasted X-Tinction, sending him flying back, "It sucks…you suffered…but that doesn't mean you need to drag all of us down with you…I can help you…" he flinched when he was blasted back by another directed well of gravity and slammed through several walls.
"Help me? Help me?!" X-Tinction growled as he approached him, "Can you revive the ones I lost?! Can you restore my universe…which was destroyed when I gained this form?! Grr…..the moment I take your Omnitrix, I'm erasing your entire universe and leave you the sole survivor!" he growled as he increased the gravity more and more as he approached him.
"You're right…" Feedback grunted, "I can't bring back what you lost…I'm not all powerful…I don't have control of my Alien X…" he growled, trying to get up as best he could, "If anything had the power to do so…it's him…but then why haven't you?!" he asked, making X-Tinction pause as his eyes widened.
"...tch…" X-Tinction gave a shaky growl before he forced Feedback into the ground, resulting in a crater, "Then once I have your Omnitrix, along with all the others…I'll reset everything! Reset it so it's just me, Grandpa, and Gwen!"
"How will they even be able to look you in the eye…knowing what you did?!" Feedback growled, "You…You can't break their hearts like that!" he cried out, "They would never want us to hurt people…not even for them!"
"How would they know…if they never knew what happened to begin with?" X-Tinction countered as he knelt down, grabbing Feedback by the face as he lifted him up, "They won't remember me fighting Vilgax…it'll be how it should be. An endless summer…just the three of us. They won't know a thing while I…I will be the only Ben 10 in existence."
"The one problem with that…" Feedback grunted, "Gwen…always knows when we're lying through our teeth…and I know…she'd figure it out…cause that's our annoying dweeb of a cousin we love…" he smirked.
"Wha…Gah!" X-Tinction cried out as a pink beam of energy struck his back and made him drop Feedback.
"Also…when I text her and tell her 'I'm about to do something stupid, try and stop me'…she always rushes over to save my butt…" Feedback coughed.
"Ben…Why is it that every single time I come here when a fight happens…things just escalate from the last visit?!" Gwen demanded, donned in her Lucky Girl outfit as she walked over.
"Hey…You were here when he first came," Feedback argued.
"Yes, but that was just at your house; now it's the whole city in trouble both above and underground!"
"I know…" he grunted as he forced himself up, "But…I was able to piece it together who this guy really is…"
"...yeah. I overheard as I was flying over here," Gwen whispered as she and Feedback looked back at X-Tinction, who grunted as he quickly got up, "He's a version of you….who lost everything."
"I almost feel sorry for the boy," Skurd admitted.
"Cruel as it is…if we want to have a chance of winning…we gotta keep talking…" Feedback explained, "Alien X isn't an emotional being…no mental clarity…no crazy nonsense."
"He's acting as if…" Gwen began before it dawned on her, "...he was 10 years old…"
"...Aaand I was really hoping you weren't gonna say that," Feedback grimaced.
"Wonderful…a temper tantrum," Skurd groaned.
"...Please tell me you learned some new spells in that book Nine gave you," Feedback begged Gwen, "Specifically any sealing spells…"
"Haven't gotten to sealing yet, but…" Gwen paused before she quickly summoned a magenta fireball in her hand and tossed it at the piece of debris flying straight at them, "I've gotten a few basic elemental spells down…finally."
"STOP IGNORING ME!" X-Tinction snapped.
"Yep. Definitely was ten," Feedback shook his head.
X-Tinction narrowed his eyes before swinging an arm up, causing the ground between them to rise up into a tidal wave of asphalt and earth. Gwen swung an arm up along with Feedback and a bolt of magenta lightning shot out of Gwen's hand with an electrical blast from Feedback's, blasting a hole in the 'tidal wave' that let it miss them. X-Tinction held his hand up in the air, cupping it like he was holding something in the palm of it as the air in it rippled. Gwen and Feedback yelped as they were pulled towards the hand. Gwen grabbed Feedback and the two vanished in a flash of magenta light. X-Tinction spun around, looking for the two, before a flash of green light caught his attention from the corner of his eye. He spun in time to block the beams of Jetray being fired from his eyes and tail as he flew at him with Gwen on his back, firing small fireballs at him. X-Tinction held his other hand out to Jetray and the air in it rippled. Jetray grinned as Gwen held on to Jetray's back. As they got close, X-Tinction prepared an uppercut only for a green flash to go off and X-Tinction to grunt as Grimlock in his T-Rex Mode to land on him.
"I still can't believe you have this form," Gwen admitted, standing on Grimlock's head.
"Grimlock loves being Grimlock!" he roared before the ground under his foot shook, "...Uh-oh."
Both yelped as the ground exploded with Grimlock being tossed back several kilometers. A flash of green light went off and Cannonbolt caught Gwen before bouncing as a ball until skidding to a halt. He uncurled and the two looked to see X-Tinction floating in the air, glaring down harshly at them.
"Someone's cranky," Cannonbolt noted.
"Do you always joke?!" X-Tinction snapped.
"What? Joking keeps things going," Cannonbolt argued, "Maybe you'd be less of a grump if you cracked a joke or twenty."
"SHUT UP!" X-Tinction snapped as he slammed his fists into the ground, sending out a huge wave of Earth before it suddenly flashed into a wave of lava.
"Uh-oh," Cannonbolt yelped before turning into Water Hazard before Skurd covered his back and produced the arms of Overflow and all four limbs fired blasts of water at the oncoming wave while Gwen used a blade made of mana to slice open a fire hydrant and caused the oncoming blast of water to be bounced off an angle panel of mana to join in, both streams of water hitting the incoming lava wave as it began to harden within an instant.
X-Tinction raised a hand up and began to rotate their wrist around. The skies darkened as storm clouds appeared in an instant, thunder rumbling from them. He swung his hand down and lightning roared upon the two. A flash of green light went off and Feedback grunted, using his antennae to catch and soak in the bolts of lightning. X-Tinction narrowed his eyes before raising his hand up, summoning a barrier as it quickly absorbed the energy blast sent at him, the barrier forming into a ball of energy that X-Tinction slammed into the ground, causing the entire area the rumble as a massive wave of sharp stone to come towards Feedback.
"Ha!" Gwen shouted as she threw a pair of Mana fireballs at the incoming wave, the two combining into one massive one as it tore through the wave of stone and slammed into X-Tinction, resulting in a large explosion as he was sent flying.
"Nice one," Feedback noted before catching Gwen, "Gwen?"
"Ugh…Elemental spells are draining when starting out…" Gwen groaned.
"That won't stun him for long," Feedback noted, changing back to Ben before he looked at his Omnitrix, "Not a lot of transformations before it needs to recharge."
"Yes…we need a way to try and finish this," Skurd whispered as he scratched his non-existent chin in thought, "...What of…?"
"We're not using Alien X," Ben argued.
"Ben…This may be a time where you'll need to use it," Gwen admitted.
"We don't need it," Ben countered, "We fought the Diagon before, remember?"
"Yes…and we only won because Vilgax double-crossed it and had Psyphon use a machine to kill Diagon and empower Vilgax with it," Gwen pointed out, "And we no longer have Ascalon to just stab him with to take his powers into the blade. And even then, I have no idea if it would even work on a Celestialsapien."
"So unless Tsubaki's plan works…We'll have to go with, as Lambda put it, the Godzilla Threshold," Skurd added.
"Who let her watch Godzilla and which Godzilla?" Gwen asked.
"I have no idea to either," Ben replied.
Lambda gave a squeaky sneeze in the elevator down to Plumbers HQ. Bluey smiled as he offered a tissue which she accepted and patted his head.
"Did you really have to have us stop at your house?" Maximilian asked.
"Missed Bluey," Lambda replied, holding up the Blupee, who gave a tiny wave at the alternate Grandpa Max.
"And me with Mari," Noel admitted, her mink wrapped around her shoulders that raised their head up, nodded to Maximillian, and then laid back down while snuggling closer to her owner, "Mmm~ I know I missed you, too…"
"And you're sure doing this instead of trying to help Ben is the better idea?" Mai asked, looking at Lambda.
"Ah," Lambda nodded.
"I'll be honest, with how strong X-Tinction is now…we'd just be in the way," Tsubaki grimaced.
"I know…and it sucks I can't be there to help," Makoto sighed, "But…it would just give Evil X another target to try and hurt Ben-kun with…"
"Besides, Gwendolyn, if pushed, can be very powerful," Tsubaki added, "The two of them faced all sorts of threats together. Their teamwork might just be the best…present company excluded." She looked at Makoto.
"Hey, I won't deny it. They're like siblings who saved the world together. That's a partnership you can't top," Makoto smiled.
"Hard to imagine they were ever at each other's throat to the point their parents all agreed that taking them to the same place was bad news," Mai noted, recalling the stories.
"It was rather disturbing now that the years have gone by," Maximilian muttered under his breath.
"Yes…but they've grown from that, and have a stronger bond," Tsubaki spoke as the elevator stopped, "I just hope we can get Verdona to help…"
"...Yeah. Hope," Maximilian whispered just as the elevator doors opened, letting them see multiple Plumber agents running around the place while carrying supplies.
"Get a team down to downtown Bellwood. Get as many civilians as you can out," Kagura ordered to an agent before looking at Hibiki, "What's our ETA of getting Max and his team back here for medical treatment?"
"By Groundbridge? 2-3 minutes at best," Hibiki replied as he looked through his tablet, "Jin also took care of any…opportunistic villains that would use this chaos to their advantage."
"Good. Last we need is Billy Billions or Will Harangue being their usual selves," Kagura nodded before he noticed Tsubaki and co, "...ahh. About time…" he looked to the side to see Grandpa Max chatting with Kajun, "Yo Magister, Tsubaki and the others are back!"
"Hm?" Grandpa Max looked up and spotted them, "Oh! Welcome back."
"Magister…we have a plan," Tsubaki walked up to him before fidgeting a bit, "Well…it's a plan that…"
"Call your wife…" Lambda bluntly stated.
"?!" Grandpa Max tensed at that before looking at his alternate self…who tried his best to not look at him, "...that bad?"
"I am all for knowing more of this story…but…it would seem that Grandma Tennyson…is the only hope we have left…so…" Noel lingered, "Please tell us you stay in touch with the Anodite side of the family?"
"I'm sure this will turn out okay," Lambda spoke up, "I mostly wish to see the magic grandma. Besides, from how Ben words it, it's clear Gwen is her favorite like Ben is yours."
"Whoa…now I don't…" both Grandpa Max's began at the same time only for the girls to just stare at them flatly, "Well…I mean I wouldn't…word…it…" they both rambled.
"I can already tell she's an incredibly willful woman," Makoto spoke, "But…we really need her help in dealing with Evil X…who pretty much sent us on a wild goose chase just so he could steal more Omnitrixes!"
"...it's…not exactly easy…" Grandpa Max muttered as he rubbed his arm a bit.
"Oh for the love of…just give us the number…" Lambda sighed, "Lives are at stake here, Grandpa!"
"Not even using Magister; you know she's serious," Makoto muttered.
"I'm sure she's a reasonable enough lady if we explain who we are and why we're calling," Noel offered.
"If she's willing to listen…" Maximillian whispered to himself before the area rumbled, "?!"
"That must've been another attack from X-Tinction," Tsubaki noted before looking at Grandpa Max, "Magister, please...I may not know the full story, but we need you to contact Verdona now…Otherwise things may end up getting worse."
"...Hoo boy. Desperate times…calls for desperate measures, I guess," Grandpa Max sighed, "I just hope the mental link is still there…"
"Mental link?" Mai repeated.
"You have a mental link?" Lambda asked, looking at Maximilian.
"Had," Maximilian sighed, "Haven't felt it since I started chasing X-Tinction sadly…"
"Wow…This sounds like Noel's wildest dream story…" Makoto muttered.
"I'm holding back a lot…" Noel grunted just as Grandpa Max closed his eyes.
'Verdona…Verdona are you there?' he mentally asked.
'Hmm? Max?' an older woman's voice echoed within his head, 'Well…this is quite the surprise…didn't think our little 'long distance connection' was still there.'
'Well, I was hoping it was there…I wish I could say that…this is a call for old times. But…have you pointed your all seeing eyes in the direction of Earth recently?'
'At first, no, since I was busy with dealing with Sunny and her….'interesting' boyfriend; but while I was coming to pay young Gwen a visit, I noticed something….Maximillian Tennyson…why do I detect a Celestialsapien battling our grandkids on Earth…and the antagonistic one shares the same reading as Ben?'
'That's…actually why I wanted to call you, Verdona,' Grandpa Max sighed, 'There's an Evil Celestiasapien traveling the multiverse…stealing all versions of the Omnitrix.'
'...Let me rephrase my current question then. Why is Ben currently fighting what I assume to be his younger self...throwing a temper tantrum?' Verdona asked, making Max tense up in surprise, 'Hmm…it would seem I have missed out on quite a lot…many different things I don't even recognize…it's as if things have been….changed…oh lord what has our grandson done?'
'Blame Serena and Bellicus. From what I could understand, they 'borrowed' some things from elsewhere and filled in what the Annihilaarg destroyed.'
'...An Annihilaarg…Ben let someone set off…an Annihilaarg…' Verdona deadpanned.
'He…fixed it…somehow…And to be fair, he didn't let it happen, it just kind of did. But, hey, somehow he annoyed his Celestialsapien form into fixing it.'
'Right. It's going to take me ten, possibly fifteen, minutes to get from where I am to Earth. Normally, it would be faster, but Sunny and her…'interesting' boyfriend…'
'Well…they are our Grandkids. I can only hope they last twenty more just fine. Probably a fair bit stressed…I can imagine Ben has zero desire to ever even turn Alien X.'
'Well…he is my Grandson…makes sense he just wouldn't vibe with a Celestialsapien…' Verdona countered, 'But worry not…once I've finished dealing with these two, I'll be there in a jiffy….then check to see what else has changed with our little universe since I've been gone, Max.'
'Thank you…'
'Wait a tick…is that another you~? Oh someone's been naughty themselves, haven't they?'
"Okay bye!" Max Tennyson panicked as he tried to end this conversation.
"Did it work?" Noel asked.
"It did," Grandpa Max replied before looking at his counterpart, "And she sensed you…"
"...Is the bunker still reinforced by any chance?" Maximilian asked.
"Woah…other gramps is scared," Kagura whispered.
"Given what happened in his universe, most likely he's scared of how she'd react given what happened to his Ben and Gwen," Hibiki surmised.
"We just recently added some new runes to it," Kajun noted.
"Good," Maximilian nodded, "I honestly really hate not being there to fight X-Tinction…but there's one thing any Max Tennyson is afraid of…"
"What's that?" Makoto asked.
"An angry Verdona," both Grandpa Maxs replied in unison.
"...fair enough."
"Right this way, Alter Magister," Hibiki spoke, gesturing for Maximilian to follow him.
"Where are you…?" X-Tinction growled as he walked through the battlefield that was once part of Downtown Bellwood, "You can't hide from me forever, Ben Tennyson! One way or another, I'm taking that watch of yours and put it to better use than you ever could!"
He walked past a pile of rubble which had been a Mr. Smoothy's. A few moments passed before Gwen and Ben poked their heads out from behind it. Ben frowned as he rubbed the back of his head in frustration.
"Ben, don't you think you're being too pessimistic in Serena and Bellicus not helping you with this?" Gwen asked, "I mean…from what you've told me, this is basically them being controlled by all those Omnitrixes giving him a lot of 'votes' to override them, right?"
"It's too risky," Ben replied, "The only reason it worked last time was because the universe was vanishing and they wanted to annoy someone from Makoto's original timeline. And for all we know, there may be some weird rule like the one involving Paradox not being allowed 500 lightyears near any Celestialsapien."
"Well, my boy, how many forms have you tried to fight him with?" Skurd pointed out, "Your physically strongest forms? All thrown about. He could grab you as your Necrofriggian form whilst intangible. I would not trust the armor you done whilst in your Prypiatosian-B form. And we know he'll change either your ones or zeroes as ReBoot into twos like he did whilst in Jennifer's universe."
"Jennifer?" Gwen repeated.
"I'll send you a copy of the mission reports," Ben replied, "Just know that I am changing my hairstyle after all this is said and done."
"...Okay…?" Gwen raised a brow at that before an explosion went off, "?!"
"WHERE ARE YOU?!" X-Tinction snapped, hovering over a smoldering crater.
"...I think that was Mr. Baumann's car," Gwen noted.
"It was," Ben sighed, hitting his head on the rubble, "I'm going to have to use Clockwork a lot after this is all said and done…"
"At least it will be good training to handle seeing your friends from the alternate future timeline," Skurd encouraged, extending a tentacle to pat Ben's hand.
"SHOW YOURSELF!" X-Tinction demanded, "I WILL DESTROY EVERY PART OF THIS CITY AND PLANET UNTIL YOU SHOW YOURSELF, TENNYSON! I WILL KILL EVERYONE YOU LOVE UNTIL YOU GIVE ME YOUR OMNITRIX, STARTING WITH THAT SQUIRREL FREAK YOU CARE SO MUCH ABOUT!"
"..."
"Ben, wait…I…" Gwen began
"I'm calm…Makoto promised to stay out of the way…" Ben took a deep breath, "It's just…a lot in my head…I know there has to be some way to fight him off…I have to trust in the others…"
"We know you do, Benjamin," Skurd spoke, "But you have overlooked something." the two looked at Skurd, "You say you trust in the others…but what about yourself?"
"Huh?" Ben blinked a few times.
"You! You blithering buffoon…if one Ben Tennyson can hold on this long…why can't multiple beat this bully down!?" Skurd argued, making an Echo-Echo arm pop out and poke Ben in the chest, "You learned to have so much faith in your friends and family…but in all these times and adventures meeting yourself…how have you not learned to have faith in yourself…literally?!"
"Heh…I get it now…" Ben chuckled, holding his hand up, "Gwen…just buy me a moment. I got a stupid and crazy idea. Do you trust me?"
"If it's stupid and crazy…then yeah, I trust you," Gwen replied, patting his shoulder.
"Skurd, each and every time we entered the other worlds…did the Omnitrix…?"
"Glow and memorize some form of data that we have yet to see for ourselves…mmm~ yes~!" Skurd laughed, "Begin the stupid plan to save our proverbial bacons! By the way…after today…I demand bacon!"
"Dude? After today…I'll treat ya to an entire smokehouse's worth."
"I'm holding you to that, because turning myself into Data using ReBoot is not pleasant as a single celled life form!" Skurd declared, "Just a few seconds and we'll be good to go! I just hope some higher dimensional being is watching and on our side!"
At that, another boot dropped on X-Tinction's head, taking him by surprise.
"I knew it!" Skurd shouted.
"WHO KEEPS DOING THAT?!" X-Tinction snapped as he looked around, "I SWEAR WHEN I FIND YOU, I'M GOING TO ERASE YOUR VERY EXI…!" he began before multiple boots hit him straight in the face, "..."
"Okay, wow. You really upset some weird interdimensional being!" Gwen spoke, blasting X-Tinction with a beam of mana that pushed him away and into some rubble, "But given you're a version of Ben…that's sort of your entire bit!" She formed a large ball of magenta fire before throwing it and striking the Mad Celestialsapien and letting it explode brightly, sending him flying back.
"Gh…" he growled, only to flinch as he landed on a glowing magenta magic circle under his feet before it flashed and encased his entire body in a small glacier of ice.
"Why don't you take a few seconds to cool down?" Gwen advised.
"...I really wanted to keep you out of this, Gwen…so many versions of you I wanted to keep alive," X-Tinction stated before narrowing his eyes, "But they got in the way…and they paid for it…"
"I can't believe how far you've fallen, Ben…" Gwen sighed, "Ten or not…you never would've done something like this."
"That's because since that day, I grew up!" X-tinction snapped.
"No you didn't!" Gwen snapped back, "You're just taking your pain and harming others! Others who don't deserve it!"
"THEY DO! THEY GET TO HAVE A GOOD LIFE WHILE I HAVE NO WORLD TO GO BACK TO! NO PARENTS! NO GRANDPA AND GWEN! I LOST EVERYTHING!" X-Tinction roared as the ice incasing him shattered, "THE OMNITRIX IS MINE AND MINE ALONE! NO ONE ELSE BUT ME DESERVES TO HAVE IT, NOT EVEN ALTERNATE VERSIONS OF ME!" he took a deep breath as he glared at Gwen, "Not that you should care…once I reset the multiverse, you won't exist while I have my Gwen back…"
"I know you're hurting…but you have no idea what you're saying…" Gwen spoke, "All you're doing is making things worse! Do you really just not grasp that you always try and do everything by yourself…when we were always there for you?" she took a deep breath, "Why does it take so much for you to learn to ask for help?"
"I don't need help! I never needed help! If they had just let me go it alone…then…then…" he growled as he swung his hands down and pinned Gwen with a well of intense gravity, "I'm tired of talking…just leave me alone!" he formed an orb of burning plasma before lobbing it at her, but he flinched when something shot through the orb and caused it to explode in his face.
Gwen flinched as she was suddenly scooped up and carried away, making her look up at a scruffy outlaw version of her cousin with a Slimbiot turned firearm in his free hand.
"Hi Gwen…" Badluck Ben chuckled as he twirled his partner/firearm around, "You're a lot more glowy then I recall my cousin looking like…that normal?"
"H-Hi…um…Ben?"
"A version of him…here to help," Badluck Ben explained as he put her down, "I don't got a lot of time to talk, but I am just happy you're okay." he smiled awkwardly.
"He hasn't seen his version of you in months because last time, the bar blew up," Badluck Skurd noted.
"Not my fault! It was Rojo the Red trying to take in my bounty…which doesn't make a lotta sense considerin' she's wanted fer a lot, too," Badluck Ben shook his head.
"You're Ben…that's all I need to know." Gwen smiled, putting a hand on his shoulder assuringly, "You're a lot more accident prone, aren't you?" she giggled.
"You always get me," he chuckled before turning around and flipping Skurd as he turned into a ShockRock form that looked like a shotgun before blasting X-Tinction and sending him flying.
"Interesting Omnitrix, too," Gwen noted, "Different aliens make a different gun?"
"Let's just say I find this safer fer my type of life. Much more reliable and, thankfully…less dangerous than a regular gun," he smiled, "Sides…I can't afford bullets anyway~"
"It's true. We spend it mainly on sending supplies to repair places that get wrecked in our fights."
"Grr…damn you…" X-Tinction grunted before he was suddenly struck by something invisible, making him stumble back, "?" he swung his arm, only to hit nothing before a whip-like strike hit his face, "Grah!" as the mad Celestialsapien stumbled back, he was struck from behind by a knight-armored FourArms who swung a giant Zweihänder into his back and sent him flying.
"Hazzah!" FourArms cheered as a ninja-like Chamalien climbed on his shoulder.
"Hehehehehe…The Baka didn't expect us at all, did he?" Chamalien chuckled.
"A ninja and a Knight…What kind of worlds did you visit?" Gwen couldn't help but chuckle.
"Gwendolyn? Is that you? What manner of weird clothing be this?" FourArms asked, scratching his head.
"Oh, you are going to have such a headache the longer you're here, aibou," Chamalien noted.
"I do not have a bow for an eye, good sir. …At least, not in this form."
"How dare you…?" X-Tinction growled as he forced himself up, about to form an energy sphere before…
"Cannonball!" Cannonbolt shouted as he crashed into him from behind, making him grunt as he was sent flying, "You're up, other other Gwen!"
"Excuse me?" Gwen asked before a female Cestus slammed X-Tinction with a hammerblow, sending him into the ground.
"Hmph…not bad," the female Cestus mused to Cannonbolt.
"You're a lot more annoying than my Gwen…" Cannonbolt grumbled.
"And you…are nicer than my own," Cestus complimented.
"A…me with an Omnitrix?" Gwen blinked in surprise.
"First I'm hearing of it…" Badluck Ben shrugged along with FourArms and Chamalien.
X-Tinction rose up from the ground and swung an arm back…before icy-blue mist and flames struck it, engulfing the entire limb in ice. He spun around to see Big Chill and a red version with a flame-like motif to their wings and antennae.
"Oops? Bet you weren't expecting fire so cold it burns, now did you?" the red Big Chill asked.
"Why does yours look like that, anyway?" the normal one asked.
"Ultimatrix. I can evolve my aliens into Ultimate forms," he replied, ponting at the four spikes on his emblem.
"That…sounds so awesome…" the normal Big Chill replied.
X-Tinction roared as he shattered the ice before molding it together into a sphere that proceeded to copy itself into several dozen and threw it at all the aliens, Badluck Ben, and Gwen.
"Scatter!" Badluck Ben shouted, picking Gwen up and jumping out of the way, changing his Skurd to Heatblast and using the fire to propel them out of the area of impact.
"Hah!" FourArms slammed his hands together, sending out a shockwave that shattered the ice projectiles, "Verily! A decent attempt upon us, fiend!"
"He's not just a monster…he's you!" Gwen called out, "He's an evil version of you who lost his mind to all that power!"
"Oh great…and here I thought things would be simple…" most of the Bens all sighed in one form or another.
X-Tinction swung his arms up and the rubble around them rose and fired at them all. Before it could go far, though, a barrage of plasma bullets struck and shattered them, startling X-Tinction long enough for Mega Man to slam a kick to his face, knocking him through a building. He backflipped before landing beside Badluck Ben and Gwen as Ashe walked over with a grin while twirling her smoking guns.
"Okay…now this one…is a bit different…" Gwen muttered.
"Don't look at me…I just use guns," Badluck Ben shrugged, "Mighty nice shootin', by th' way, ma'am."
"Thanks!" Ashe grinned, "Neat gun you got yourself."
"Try to trade me and I zap your central nervous system…" Badluck Skurd instantly spoke up.
[Please don't trade me, Ashe~] Model A pleaded.
"Never crossed my mind," Ashe shrugged.
"One time…and I never hear the end of it…We spent three weeks in the desert…I was thirsty," Badluck Ben sighed.
Mega Man shook his head before looking at Gwen, "Huh…So this is how you look. It's a good look, Gwen. Or do you prefer 'Gwendolyn' now like your older you took us to a version of a future prefers?"
"Just Gwen for my friends and family," Gwen replied, noting the way he talked about the other her.
"Hah! It worked!" the Ben of this world cheered, walking over with the older Ben of the Steampunk world.
"Wow…talk about a dump," he smirked, "You're not real good at this are you, me?" he taunted his alternate self.
"The majority of this is from X-Tinction," Ben argued, "And if I go overboard, I do help in repairing things. You'd be surprised at how doing that gets you good with construction workers."
"Well I can't blame most of you…you're all just young and stupid." Detective Benjamin sighed.
"Tell me about it. You know that the majority are all called vehicle destroyers?" Mega Man complained, "Seriously?! Why vehicles?!"
Ashe rolled her eyes, "Because throwing them is a good improvised weapon, distraction, and just plain fun especially if it belongs to this one jerk who keeps honking at your bike when you're driving the speed limit and-GRAH!" she threw a burning truck at X-Tinction as he was getting back up, causing it to blow up in his face, "Phew! Okay, I'm good!"
"...Please don't do that with my bike in the future, Ashe," Mega Man sighed/pleaded.
"...It is so weird hearing that come out of your mouth," Gwen admitted.
[Focus on the alien god, Vent] Model Z advised [...Damn it, I can't believe I just said that…]
[At least you've stopped demanding to be tossed back into the ocean] Model X noted.
"You're hearing the voices from their armor, too, right?" Cannonbolt whispered to the other alternate Bens.
"We have watches that turn us into aliens and that's what you're asking?" Chamalien asked.
"It doesn't matter if there's one or an army! I will crush you all!" X-Tinction roared as he rose up into the air.
"Mental breakdown…threatening to destroy everyone and everything…" Mega Man listed.
"A name that's meant to be terrifying," Ashe added, "Feels like dealing with someone overdosing on Model W."
"If we can rip those extras off him and find his original one, we could turn him back by touching it in the exact center," Mega Man recalled.
"Not really," the Steampunk Ben noted, "Been in this form before. A pal of mine tried that and it didn't work. You have to vote to change back. But good idea on getting those out of him. A little lady version of us needs hers back."
"There's a girl you?" Ashe asked, "What? Is her name Aile?"
[Ashe, your nose is bleeding…] Model A muttered.
"You have the same taste in girlfriends as me, Vent…" Ben sighed as he looked up at X-Tinction, "You all ready for this?"
"Heh…you have to ask?" Cannonbolt grinned.
"Well I've never kicked my own butt…" Ultimate Big Chill muttered.
"I have…and I would enjoy doing it without risk of punishment from our Grandfather," the female Cestus smirked.
"I'm almost glad my version is just a very annoying ninja…" Chamalien muttered.
"The Gwendolyn of my world is very much still a terrifying Wit-Enchantress…yes…that is what I meant to say!" FourArms corrected himself when both Gwens turned to him, "A terrifyingly, but dependable enchantress of the arcane arts! Hahaha…Who said something rude?! I dare you to face me for my cousin's honor!"
"Good effort…" Badluck Ben sighed.
"You sure you should…?" Mega Man began to ask, looking at Ashe in concern.
"Vent, you try to make me back down, I will shove my foot far up that you will be my new boot," Ashe warned.
"Alright, alright. You're good," Mega Man held his hands up, sweating a bit.
"Girlfriend issue?" Chamalien whispered.
"Fiance more like it," Mega Man quietly replied.
"Oh, I know that on so many levels," Chamalien nodded, "So let's make sure to win this to get home for 'em, eh?"
"Right," Mega Man nodded.
"Well we got a plan in the works, so just hold him off for a bit longer," Ben spoke.
"Well if he's us…then that should be easy, we are the most easily distracted kid in the multiverse," Steampunk Ben sighed, "It was a real problem back in the day. Especially if we have a Gwen."
"Hey…" both complained.
"You know how we used to be," most of the Bens sighed.
"Verily…" FourArms agreed.
"If anyone can upset us enough to make a mistake…it's you, dear cousin~" Chamalien smirked.
"She was doing a pretty good job at it, too," Ben noted.
"Bens…" Gwen warned.
"Oh please tell me you have embarrassing stories I can tease him with," Ashe grinned.
"Please, no!" Ultimate Big Chill, Big Chill, Ben, and Mega Man panicked.
"If we have time," Cestus smirked.
"Well, I know which alternate version of me I like so far," Gwen noted in amusement.
"STOP TALKING!" X-Tinction screamed as he sent several cars at them.
"INCOMING!" Cannonbolt shouted as he and all the other versions of Ben-along with the female Cestus and Gwen-quickly rolled out of the way.
"Well, we can talk embarrassing stories later." Ben sighed, slapping the Omnitrix and turning into Feedback once more.
"Unfortunately we have many of those in our closets," Steampunk Ben sighed, turning into Diamondhead without needing to touch anything.
"Master Control?"
"Took a while to figure out, but worth it," Diamondhead chuckled.
"Hmm…" Mega Man muttered indifferently.
"Less time talk! Punch time now!" Feedback ordered.
"Haha!" FourArms picked up Cannonbolt in his ball form before tossing him like a baseball right into X-Tinction, making him grunt as he was sent flying.
"GRR!" X-Tinction grunted as he forced himself to stop, "It won't matter regardless! You just made my job easier by gathering yourselves all before me!"
"Keep telling yourself that, we're just here to play with you 'till you run out your tantrum!" Feedback spoke, extending his antenna back as Gwen grabbed them and began feeding mana through them as the Conductoid slammed his hands together and formed a massive ball of blue electric energy with magenta sparks coming off it. He smirked before aiming and firing a massive beam that swallowed up X-Tinction and knocked him through the air.
X-Tinction grunted as he forced himself to stop once more, about to fire off a series of energy balls before he was suddenly shot down by a charged shot from Mega Man. He managed to correct himself in his fall only for a tiny yellow metallic wheel to hit him in the face before electricity erupted off it and zapped him. He was dazed long enough for several Mana blasts to hit him followed up with Cestus slamming her fist into his solar plexus, sending him into the ground and creating a trailing crater in the ground. The wheel uncurled into a robotic hedgehog that turned into Ashe. She gave the two a thumbs up before a shadow came over them. She looked up and quickly grabbed the two before a flash of light went off and she was replaced with a large bulky blue horseshoe crab-like machine that covered Gwen and Cestus just before a blast of lightning slammed down on them. X-Tinction growled as the smoke cleared to reveal an undamaged form.
"Sorry, but my back as Chronoforce is pretty much impenetrable," she chuckled in a raspy male's voice before floating up as a tail of ice formed before flipping it up to her face, "Time Bomb."
The tail spun around clockwise before she switched back to Ashe. X-Tinction narrowed his eyes…before they widened as his arm moved slowly. He tried to move his head, but it moved just as slow at his arm.
"And his ice is so cold…even time chills out for him," Ashe grinned deviously as the trio of girls held up a hand each and let Diamondhead, Cannonbolt, and Badluck Ben run by and slap their hands, "Tag in~!"
Cannonbolt turned his emblem clockwise and silver armor engulfed him with yellow plating covering his back. He spun into a wheel before Badluck Ben aimed Badluck Skurd at him, turning his gun into a Feedback-themed railgun. Diamondhead slammed his hand on the floor before a ramp of crystals erupted from the ground just as Badluck Ben fired, sending out a blast of electricity that slammed into Omni-Kix Cannonbolt and sent him rocketing up the ramp and slamming into X-Tinction, sending out a shockwave as the Celestialsapien was sent rocketing through another building. On the other side, Ultimate Big Chill and Big Chill phased through the floor, carrying FourArms. He grinned once they solidified and raised his sword. X-Tinction came out of the building and he swung, sending him right back through it. The two Necrofriggians flew and caught the two Omnitrixes that came out of X-Tinction.
"Nice swing," Big Chill complimented.
"Why thank you, my fellow Tennyson," FourArms chuckled.
"Grr…" X-Tinction growled as the rubble he was under evaporated into ashes, "Those…are mine….!"
"Sorry, but I don't see your name anywhere on them," Mega Man noted as he zipped by him…before the Celestialspaien tensed, seeing him holding up three in one hand, "Man…I missed out on the smaller design, huh? Ah well. I'm content with who I am…unlike you."
"SHUT UP!"X-Tinction snapped as he fired off an energy beam at him, only for a wall of crystal to rise up and deflect the beam right at the angry Celestialsapien, "GAH!"
"Ah, an angry opponent…always rather amusing how they falter," Diamondhead chuckled as they regrouped.
"We can take as many as we want…but he's not going to go down any easier," Feedback spoke up.
"Indeed," Skurd muttered, "The more we take, the more…unhinged he seems to get."
"Considering he's spent all this time collecting them…no big surprise there," Mega Man agreed.
"Still, the less he has means the less powerful he gets, right?" Ultimate Big Chill pointed out.
"Right," Gwen replied, "We noticed it when he first came here. The less Omnitrixes he has, the less control he has over his powers."
"Near as I can guess…I don't think the other personas in Alien X are on his side," Feedback explained.
"Well then, that just means all sorts of nonsense…" Diamondhead sighed, "I hope this plan of yours goes into effect soon."
"Depends how long it takes her to get here," Feedback chuckled, making Gwen flinch.
"No…you didn't…" Gwen asked, "Grandma!?"
"Grandma?" Cannonbolt, Cestus, Big Chill, Ultimate Big Chill, and Vent repeated as they tilted their heads.
"Obaa-chan?!" Chamalien paled.
"Oh…" several of the Bens groaned at that.
"Oh she's gonna love this…" Feedback chuckled as he looked up at X-Tinction, who was forming a massive sphere of burning plasma, "It's been what…" he looked to Skurd.
"Give or take thirty minutes since Noel and the others left to force your Grandfather to call her…so I imagine that took her all of five…and she's just running fashionably late…" Skurd mused.
"Oh is that all…?" Diamondhead sighed as he made a seat of crystals to sit on, "No worries then. All should be fine in a moment." he sighed, forming a backrest to lean against.
"Ahh…Yabei, yabei…" Chamalien mumbled, looking around with worry on his face, "Ah mou…! I hate it when Obaa-chan visits! She keeps sending me on fetch quests that nearly kill me!"
"It's been a while since mine flew through our little lot of space…" Badluck Ben sighed, "I swear she cursed me with this bad luck…and it wasn't even to be mean…she just thinks its funny,"
"Anyone want to fill in the versions that don't know their grandma? Please?" Mega Man asked.
"Oh…Grandma is basically pure living magic…and strong as that." Feedback pointed to the Celestialsapien, "Only while those are beings of law, order, and rules…Grandma is like a chaotic gremlin of wanton desire and trickery…also she shares Grandpa's taste in oldies rock and Funk."
"So your gramps is an intergalactic space hero and your grandma's a space woman made of magic that's got good taste in music," Ashe noted, "...I like her already and I haven't met her."
"Why would she even…?" Vent began.
"Cause Gwen is in danger mostly," Feedback chuckled.
"Oh come on, Ben…" Gwen complained.
"What? We all know you're her favorite." he chuckled.
"We are?" Cestus asked.
"Aww that's not fair," Cannonbolt complained.
"Well, magic Gwen," Feedback corrected.
"Uh…You sure it's a good idea to just talk while he's prepping something?" Ashe asked.
"Considering how calm the oldest version of us is…Grandmother must know something that Celestialsapiens fear," Mega Man noted, looking over at Diamondhead.
"All Anodites learn it once they're fifty because their magic becomes strong enough to use it without passing out for a year," Diamondhead replied.
"It?" Ultimate Big Chill repeated.
"You'll see, kid," he assured.
"Ben…did you happen to factor in the small chance she had to deal with Sunny again?" Gwen asked.
"..."
[What's with all the boots here? Your universe is weird] Model A noted.
"I wish I could explain that…but Ben seems to be…kinda friends with a dimensional being…" Gwen muttered before yelping when a boot dropped on her head.
"He doesn't like people talking for him…" Feedback explained.
"DIE!" X-Tinction roared, reeling his arm back and throwing the sphere at them.
"AH GEEZ!" Cannonbolt freaked.
"Ben, I think we may have to go with Plan X!" Skurd shouted.
"Nah…I think she'd be here by now…" Feedback replied, "Oh I know what's happening…" he spoke as the sphere suddenly stopped, "Okay…you got us, Grandma Verdona, but really how much dramatic tension do you need?"
"Oh pish posh, Ben. How is one not supposed to appear at the very last second?" a female voice spoke up.
"What the…?" X-Tinction pondered, pushing a hand at the sphere, only for it to not budge.
"I get the feeling you were just enjoying the nonsense and shenanigans like a new comedy show." Feedback sighed, flashing back to Ben, "You had me going for a second though. I almost thought you were legitimately late. Then I remembered…'Wait, you're never actually late, mostly 'cause I'm sure you can snap your fingers and pop up here.'"
"Well I could, but your Aunt Natalie is such a fussy person that she made me swear to never do that…I might be a chaotic being, but I keep my word," the orb began dissolving apart into pink sparkles of energy that floated up and into the air, revealing to a good handful of the Alter Bens and one Gwen an actual Anodite, a female being with a sleek body seemingly made of the color purple and a glowing magenta energy, with their hair literally just being long strands of magenta light. She smiled while floating down, "Oh look at you, Ben~. What naughty things have you gotten up to in the Multiverse? Oh it's a shame you don't have a spark. You sure act more like an Anodite than my Dear Gwen."
"Meh…it adds some fun hindsight," Ben shrugged, "But after about a dozen worlds not even connected to yours, you start to miss home."
"Oh so true," she giggled, "Quite the platter on grandsons and granddaughters, I see." she looked over her shoulder up at the perplexed X-Tinction, "And one rather naughty one as well."
"That's a story and a half…" Ben sighed, "I've tried my best, but Celstialsapiens are really annoying…and I don't much like being one myself…"
"It's a pain…" Diamondhead nodded.
"Kind of a bust of a form…" Chamalien laughed in agreement, "All I did was talk to two floating kabuki masks!"
[At least this is something that isn't making me want to find the nearest ocean…] Model Z muttered.
[A woman made of magic…actual magic? Vent, you have quite the family] Model X complimented.
"Is it okay for them to know about you before the actual meeting point?" Ben asked.
"Mmm…" Verdona shrugged, "I'm sure it will all work out, oh~ They can give their Max a scare by asking about me!"
"I did kinda enjoy seeing him sweat from my almost revealing his secrets to this version of me," Ben patted Cannonbolt on the head.
"He sweats a lot!" Cannonbolt laughed.
"Oh? Now what's this?" Verdona pondered as she bent down to look at Cestus, "A Gwendolyn with an Omnitrix? Hmm…" she smiled, "Oh, I can feel it in you, my dear. That's an honest relief." she thumbed at the versions of Ben aside from Mega Man, "Word of advice? Don't be like your cousin."
"No matter what dimension…Grandmother never fails to take a potshot at me," Diamondhead sighed.
"I think that Lambda gal's got competition for being the Queen of Sass," Ashe snickered.
"Grandma, you can pick on me after you help us out here," Ben sighed.
"Oh poo…I need to still be an adult…" Verdona muttered in slight annoyance, "You're lucky Grandma was in a very mature mood thanks to your terrible cousin…I hope you know that."
"Yeah, I know," Ben smiled.
"You might be a silly one…but you are a good boy, just like Max was," Verdona smiled at his response.
"What…are you?" X-Tinction pondered.
"Guess he's never met you," Mega Man noted, "Though…can't really say I'm not in the same situation…"
"Hm? Well, well~ You're quite the interesting grandson," Verdona noted, "Your soul has resonated with several ancient ones that make me look like a child." she looked up at X-Tinction, "And as for you, young man, I am your grandmother, Verdona. And with how many of those Omnitrixes you have on you…you have been a rather naughty grandson of mine."
"G-Grandmother?"
"I know Grandma is powerful, but are we just going to trust her to kick his butt?" Gwen asked.
"Nah, she's got a trick for it." Ben replied, "I mean…she's our Grandma. She has to have a trick for everything…sides, can he be any worse then Sunny?"
"There are few things that annoy me more…" Verdona spoke up in response to that name.
Mega Man and Chamalien shared looks. The human of the two mouthed 'Sunny' in confusion and the alien shrugged in response. The alien flinched as a small clang went off from Mega Man from Diamondhead dope-slapping the both of them.
"Now then, you have had enough of a temper tantrum, young man. And as the adult here, I say that you sit down in a corner and think on what you've done before I count to three," Verdona scolded before thunder rumbled as she narrowed her eyes, "Now."
"...You think you scare me?" X-Tinction demanded.
"One," Verdona counted, bringing her hands up to her chest, palms facing the other.
"I bow to no one!" X-Tincton declared, generating several of the plasma spheres.
"Two," Verdona continued as a light began to shine between her palms.
"You bow to me!" X-Tinction ranted as the spheres turned into spears.
"Three!" Verdona declared.
"FALL!" X-Tinction roared, throwing the spears at her.
Verdona clapped her hands together, crushing the sphere of light…before the plasma spears shattered and light began to shoot out of X-Tinction. His eyes widened as his body locked up. Verdona, her eyes closed shut, looked as if she were praying while floating in the air.
"Divinia…Ruina," Verdona intoned, opening her eyes.
The beams of light coming from X-Tinction began to shine brighter before wrapping around X-Tinction. Everyone quickly raised an arm up as the light erupted into a brilliant flash. Gwen's eyes flickered with a magenta glow as she felt the magic cast upon the Celestialsapien. It was…above anything she felt since first encountering Nine. Slowly, the light faded and Verdona sighed, floating down before her body shifted, becoming an old woman in purple robes with short white hair. Lying upon the ground was X-Tinction, the stars in his body vanished.
"What…was that?" Cestus asked before several beeps began to go off, making many of the transformed look down at their emblems to see them flashing red before they timed out.
"Glad I don't deal with that anymore," Mega Man chuckled, reverting to Vent, "But still…Grandmother, what was that?"
"A spell we Anodites….crafted to deal with…rogue Celestialsapiens…" Verdona explained, panting a bit as Gwen helped keep her steady, "Very draining…but…it negates all the powers of one it's cast upon."
"Did you know that was a thing, older us?" one of the younger Bens looked to Steampunk Ben.
"I heard of it from my cousin, but haven't heard more since she left for her own studies. Been a little busy with work to check up on her," Steampunk Ben shrugged.
X-Tinction slowly got up, panting in rage. He threw an arm out at them, only for nothing to happen. He grunted, throwing his other up only for nothing to come.
"So much for his power," Ashe noted in amusement, "Now he looks more like a weeaboo."
"Gonna need to find which one is his original," Vent noted, "Change him back to being a human and lock it or remove it."
"I think I got an idea…" Ben spoke as he walked up to X-Tinction, who flinched and stumbled away from him in panic, "It's over, buddy…" he sighed, holding his hand out, "If I'm right…Omnitrix…decouple. Code: 0-0-Decouple-10." he ordered as all of the emblems began popping off.
"?! No! No!" X-Tinction exclaimed as all but three fell off him.
"Shoot. Must be a different code," Ben frowned, "But…easier to pick which is your original." he looked at the three on his chest before his eyes widened, seeing the topmost one had the top shattered, "A…A broken one?"
"...No…Not broken…" X-Tinction growled as he raised his arms…before slamming them on the other two emblems.
"?!" Ben jumped back, "Dude, what are you…?!"
"GRAH!" X-Tinction roared, slamming down on them again, "..." he looked to see no damage on them, "No…Why?!"
"Are…are you trying to break them?" Ben asked, "...That's how you turned into Alien X, isn't it?"
"Be silent!"
"Oh for the love of…" Vent sighed as he and Steampunk Ben shared looks, a nod, and then a flash of light as Mega Man and Rath grabbed X-Tinction's arms, "Kid…It's over, alright?"
"No! I…I can't…!" X-Tinction struggled until Ben reached out and tapped the center of the broken Omnitrix, letting out a green flash of light as the last two dropped to the floor and let a Ben resembling the kid one in a green and black shirt was in place of the Celestialsapien.
"Dude…" that Ben gasped as Mega Man and Rath put him down.
[Shut the front door! That creepy guy…was really a little kid?!] Model A gawked.
[...Someone tell me where the nearest massive water source is] Model Z deadpanned.
"I'll be honest…I thought you were joking about him being a kid," the younger teen Ben admitted with wide eyes.
"I believed it. He and I share similar eyes," Ban noted, grimacing as a memory of a steel cage arena flashed through his mind.
"..h…how…I…I thought…" the Ben that was once X-Tinction whispered as he looked himself over…before stopping to look at his now broken Omnitrix, "..."
"I had a gut feeling that tapping it would work on your Alien X form," Ben explained.
"..." the other Ben just sat there, staring at his broken Omnitrix, "...its not fair…"
"Hmm?"
"I told them to not get in the way…I had Vilgax handled…" he whispered as he shook, "If they hadn't interfered that day….if Vilgax hadn't come to try and steal my Omnitrix…"
Mega Man dismissed his armor and knelt down to X-Tinction Ben, "When I ten…I lost everything I knew." the ten-year-old looked at him, "Vilgax and Kevin attacked. What's worse? I didn't unlock Alien X; my Omnitrix broke completely and I lost my memories for four years. No Grandpa, no Gwen, no parents…nothing at all. I was a terrified little kid, all alone with a broken watch that wouldn't come off me and no one there to help." he had a somber smile, a memory of a man with long blond hair going through his mind, "The only difference aside from that you and I have is that I got stupidly lucky and someone found me and took me in, raised me like a son when they didn't have to. You didn't have that, though. All you had was yourself and no one was there for you to help pick up the pieces."
"..."
"One bad day can make anyone bad…" Ben spoke, "But you got a bad deal…you lost the two most important people in our life from that time. Grandpa Max who always understood us no matter what…and Gwen whom, even though we fought…varying from world to world…she was like our best friend on that road trip. Like this is what it's like to have a sibling…a best friend you know will always be there. Yeah, I can't even imagine what it'd be like to lose them…even now. If anything, I have way more to lose…" he paused, "I understand how much it must have hurt, really I do. And when you're hurt, you…just want to make someone else hurt, and I get the feeling the person you hated more than Vilgax…was you…You hated yourself cause you failed…'cause that's how I would feel."
"But you…and…I…" X-Tinction Ben tried to get out, tears now practically flowing down his cheeks as he trembled.
"...I think I have an idea that might help," Vent noted.
"I swear there is a multiverse of all of you being idiots!" all the Bens and the Omnitrix-wielding Gwen flinched at Azmuth's rant before Vent yelped as a cane whacked him on the head, "You especially! I swear, breaking the Omnitrix at ten years of age…You're supposed to be fifteen before you destroy the prototype!"
"But I…Ah!" Vent flinched as he was smacked again.
"Did I say you could speak, boy? You might be a giant to me, but don't think I won't bend you over a robotic knee and paddle you 'till you learn respect!" Azmuth barked, "You want to test me, speak again!"
"He is as angered as mine usually is when I bungle," Sir Benjamin whispered.
"Yeah…He doesn't get any better," Detective Benjamin sighed as he avoided the cane, letting it thwack Ban upside the head, "Nice try, you old frog."
"Ite~! Who gave him the idea of having a cane?!" Ban complained, rubbing the smoking bump on his noggin.
"Yo," Kokonoe replied, looking over the metal 'mini-tower' X-Tinction Ben's arm was in while typing on a holographic screen.
"It had to be a bakeneko-onna…" Ban muttered, "I never get along with them…or any felines…"
"His world has folks like you," the Ben of this world explained/answered the question she was thinking.
"...Right…" Kokonoe nodded before smirking as Azmuth whacked them all but Detective Benjamin with the cane once more.
"What did I do?!" the main Ben complained.
"After today…I'm tired of hearing the voice of Ben Tennyson…and a little bit of Gwendolyn Tennyson, too…Does she ever stop arguing with the short ones!?" he snapped.
"We really were that bad, huh?" Gwen asked, a soundproof dome of mana keeping the 'short ones' silent in their arguing.
"You should see Anodite children…it's actually really similar," Verdona smirked, "Only difference being less spells cast."
"Wait, is that why we fought so much!?" Gwen realized.
"Mmm~" Verdona smirked and shrugged.
"Different dimension…same old Gran," Detective Benjamin sighed.
"Well she's not sending me on a dangerous quest to reclaim her favorite tea pot she lost to an Oni…so…I'm not complaining," Ban muttered.
"I find a distinct lack of chaotic magic and the town burgermeister being turned into a deformed rat…" Sir Benjamin added.
"...I'm taking that one," Verdona mused, "That will be fabulous at the next family reunion."
"Why do I feel worried for my Mom…?" Gwen spoke up.
"Hmm? No idea what you mean, deary~" Verdona smiled.
"...You are the reason why Ben is what he is…" Gwen frowned.
"Well if he didn't get my spark, he sure got my superior sense of humor~" Verdona smiled.
"Azmuth," Kokonoe spoke, earning his attention at the screen.
"Yes, that's the right sample," Azmuth confirmed, "Easy with it now. One wrong move and we'll have a repeat when our Ben let that idiot blue bisque mess with the Omnitrix here all over again."
"...Bisque?" Ban repeated, looking at the main Ben.
"Fancy way of saying crab, mate." Detective Benjamin spoke up.
"Ever meet a Cerebrocrustacean with a stutter?" the main Ben asked.
"Oh, that guy," Ban deadpanned, "Kept giving me a headache when he talked. Sora-chan was a blessing with that boxing glove arrow to shut him up."
"Umm…should…" Vent began.
"Not you!" Azmuth pointed at him, "I'm still mad at you! You're just lucky Ben is somehow good at fixing his own mess…otherwise I would…"
"Azmuth, I know Galvans age weirdly, but don't stress yourself to an early end," Detective Benjamin sighed.
"I'm not used to Ben being so tall…or mature…" Azmuth muttered.
[I'm not used to seeing Vent in all manners of shapes and sizes, either] Model X noted.
[Or with actual organic ears] Model Z added.
"Guys…" Vent whispered sternly.
"And tell those things to stop talking like I can't hear them!" Azmuth shouted.
[What?!] both exclaimed.
"Smartest being in three, arguably five, galaxies," the main Ben chuckled, "Not surprised he likely has something that lets him hear unique frequencies."
"Eh. Honestly not surprised," Kokonoe shrugged before a vial slid out of the device, "And there we go. The Celestialsapien DNA has been removed and the failsafe has been activated."
"I'm surprised you went with that and not fully removing it," Gwen noted.
"Oh, believe me, I wanted to at first," Azmuth replied.
"Hmm…" Ben frowned at that.
"I said at first!"
"Hmm…" Ben crossed his arms.
"Don't give me that look!" Azmuth did the same.
"Only my grandchild could possibly argue with the prideful Azmuth in such a way," Verdona giggled.
"I don't want to hear that from a crazy species who magic'd away their DNA…." Azmuth muttered.
"That's a good point…why isn't…" Gwen pointed to Verdona then Ben's Omnitrix.
"Cause they are made of energy and don't have DNA…" Azmuth grumbled.
"But…then how did Alien X…?" Ben blinked.
"I detest magic…" Azmuth frowned.
"Please wait until after we have left to turn Azmuth into something else, please Grandmother?" Sir Benjamin pleaded.
"Fine fine…besides," Verdona paused as she looked at her Ben, "I'd like to talk to my Ben about his new…friends…he has made while I was away."
"Why do I worry about the way she worded that?" Makoto whispered from nearby before Tsubaki elbowed her side, "Ow…"
"Ulp…" Ben gulped.
"Long story, Grandma," Gwen replied.
"Oh like you have any reason to talk, Gwen," Ben muttered.
"Shut up…I'm not the one who got Alien X working one time…" Gwen hissed.
"I saved the future love of my life, I have no regrets," Ben argued, "Also a lot of weird pseudo-magical friends…"
"Oh now you're brave." Gwen punched his shoulder.
"Ow…hey, I'm not guilty of anything!" Ben complained.
"Well technically, Dear, you broke several Celestialsapien laws…but those are stupid laws and deserve to be broken so I'm actually deeply proud of you," Verdona smiled.
"Grandma!" Gwen gasped.
"What…they are really stupid laws. I think Ben breaking them is proof he is my grandson and I should encourage him to use this Alien X for more chaos~" Verdona laughed.
"...Oh I definitely like her," Makoto grinned a bit before Tsubaki elbowed her side once more, "Ow…what?"
"Don't encourage that…" she complained.
"But it's totally what Ben would do. I love that about him," Makoto smiled.
"Oh so this is the girl," Verdona appeared behind them, making them tense a bit in surprise as they turned to look at her, "Mm…yes she just radiates some type of magic, the chances of a little one with the spark is high~" she smiled before hugging Makoto, "You can call me Grandma!" her hair then came to life like a series of tentacles that picked up Noel and Lambda, "Ooh…these two are also special~! They are just adorable! Maxy, can I keep them?" She asked as she turned to Grandpa Max.
"Eh?!" Noel gawked at that while Lambda blinked a bit.
"Verdona, you can't just adopt random magical kids…" Grandpa Max sighed.
"Oh come on…I can take care of them…" Verdona complained.
"Grandma!" Gwen called out.
"This is why you're no fun sometimes…you inherited your Grandfather's overdeveloped sense of reason…" Verdona pouted.
"I like Grandma," Lambda stated, "She is full of sass."
"La-chan…" Noel groaned.
"You know how I am," Lambda argued.
"See? They want to be part of the family," Verdona smirked.
"I mean Grandpa Max says that…but he more or less adopted all of us as his kids…" Makoto chuckled.
"Hypocrite!" Verdona gasped and pointed at Grandpa Max, "I bet you just want to keep the adorable magical children to yourself! Isn't it enough you already get Ben?"
"Why am I the argument…?" Ben asked.
"You cause nothing but chaos and good at the same time…what more could an Anodite ask of their grandchild?" Verdona argued.
"I like her!" both kid Bens beamed.
'Oh I dread meeting my universe's Grandma if she's anything like this one…' Vent thought.
"Ah…I feared this reaction if you met them…" Grandpa Max sighed.
"Oh you know me so well, Maxy! Now…when can I expect Great Grandchildren?" Verdona asked.
"Wh-wh-what?!" Ben and Makoto exclaimed, blushing.
"Indeed! I'm rather jealous of the me this one has," Verdona replied, gesturing to Vent.
"Wait…you know!?" Vent gawked.
"Of course. I can sense mana…life energy…all living things have it," Verdona explained, looking at Ashe with her eyes focusing on one part of her body in particular.
"...I knew it!" Noel exclaimed.
"Down…" Lambda deadpanned, grabbing Noel before she could go find a notebook or pounce Ashe for questioning.
[Ashe, I'm scared] A squeaked, peeking out from behind the silverette.
"I knew I'd like meeting your grandma, Vent," Ashe grinned, "She's great!"
"Oh, I do hope they have the spark! Add in your amusing little partners and the interesting times you'll have…" Verdona giggled, "I fully approve of her as well."
'Someone kill me…' Ben, Vent, and Makoto mentally begged.
"Given Gwen's lover boy is an Osmosian…chances are their kids will be without the spark…" Verdona sighed, "Oh but I will love to see them regardless."
"Wait, Grandma, do you not know about the magical kid Gwen adopted?" Ben blinked, seeing a chance to change the subject, and noting his Grandmother turning to Gwen.
"Ben…" Gwen began.
"Magical kid?" Verdona repeated, "Oh, you must tell me everything!"
"Ben, why…" Gwen groaned.
"She was gonna find out eventually," Ben muttered.
"Mmm…true…I just find mental invasion rude…but I would have found out eventually…I do know all your grandfather's weaknesses afterall," Verdona smiled.
"Oh no…" Grandpa Max muttered.
"Speaking of…Maxy…where's the other you?" Verdona asked, "I distinctly sensed two of you in one place…now…that sounds like something I'd like to find out about~ Oh I'm gonna have to stay on Earth for a while to catch up…I know Gwen's moved out…I'll stay with her parents! My son would love to let me stay for a few days!"
"Wait, why not…" Ben began.
"Oh I could never burden your mother. She's the only Daughter-In-Law who likes me." Verdona winked.
"Can't imagine why she wouldn't," Lambda noted, petting Bluey.
"Noel, you and Lambda take care of my Grandma, I have a little me to check on." Ben chuckled.
"How do we do that?" Noel asked.
"Sister and I are magical super weapons!" Lambda blurted out, getting Verdona's attention, "And we will tell you all about the magical child with two souls Gwen adopted!" she began backing away, making Verdona float after her in interest.
"Ah! La-chan, why?!" Noel exclaimed as she was grabbed by Lambda.
"Tag, Grandma is it," Lambda stated quickly before running off while carrying Noel.
"EEK!" Noel yelped.
"I feel like I dodged a bullet with Noel," Ashe admitted once Verdona and the sisters were out of sight.
"She's a lot to get used to all at once," Makoto admitted.
"Is it safe?" they all looked around before a hatch in the ground opened and Maximilian jumped out, "Is she gone?" he asked with a look of worry born of a man who knew their lover well.
"You got a few minutes. Lambda and Noel have her distracted," Ben explained, helping his alternate Grandfather up.
"It'll have to do…" he sighed before looking at X-Tinction Ben, "So he's…?"
"Yep," Ben replied.
"He's so young…I was honestly expecting an older Ben, but…it also makes sense of some actions he pulled," Maximilian noted.
"You won't have to worry about him doing this all over again, Grandfather," Detective Benjamin noted, "They removed the Celestialsapien DNA from his Omnitrix."
"Only sad thing is that he no longer has a place to call home," Ban added.
"Hmm…I see," Maximilian noted.
"He's…a bit like me, to be honest," Vent noted softly, "Lost you and Gwen in an incident involving Vilgax, no home to go back to, left all alone without anything familiar…If I hadn't been found by a Guardian and eventually adopted by Giro, I would've probably been just as bad without access to an Omnitrix."
"He's also dealing with what he's caused to so many, be it directly or indirectly," Ban quietly added, "The way his posture is…that look in his eyes. He probably hasn't registered until now how many lives he's harmed, clouded by his own rage and hatred for so long."
"I know I'm in the mood to make Vilgax takoyaki if I ever run into him again," Vent scowled.
"Agreed," Ban nodded.
"I think I'm getting it, you two," Maximilian spoke, patting their shoulders, "..." he walked up to X-Tinction Ben and knelt down on a knee, "You've been rather busy, haven't you?"
"..." he looked down at his shoes.
"..." Maximilian sighed before putting a hand on the formerly rogue Ben, "Tennyson men tend to become focused solely on one thing when we have too many emotions whirling in our heads, never really thinking of other options when that happens. I'll admit to falling into it at times during my prime, both in the Army and the Plumbers." he shook his head, "It's hard to get out of it and when you do…you're often left dealing with the consequences of what you pulled off in that state, unsure of what to do or how to make up for the worst parts of it." he frowned at X-Tinction Ben, "I'll admit that until I came to this universe, I had fallen into that state, but I fell out of it thanks to a reason I lost: family." he gestured to the main Ben and Gwen, "I often arrived either too late or in the middle of your attack, barely staying to fix things before leaving with barely an interaction. Spending time with them, however…it helped me heal in a way. I'm not going to blame you for your actions, not fully, since you were blinded by your own emotions of pain and loss; but…you still did some rather harsh things during your time as X-Tinction. And when a Tennyson causes a mistake, we always try to fix things…often with the help of family."
"...What family?"
"Well…me, if you want," Maximilian offered, earning a surprised look from everyone.
"Seriously?" the kid Bens asked in disbelief.
"There's no mistaking that he's done crimes, a whole lot of them, but it doesn't mean he's not able to make up for them," Maximilian replied, looking over at the two, "If you were in his shoes, wouldn't those who love you, even from an alternate universe, be willing to offer you a second chance?"
"Well…I guess the first step would be…return…" Ben turned to the large stack of Omnitrixes on a table, "All these…"
"I'm not fixing those…" Azmuth blurted as he jumped on the shoulder of the Ben of his dimension, "I only did that one as a favor because I assume that me is presently gone…" he pointed to X-Tinction Ben, he then motioned to Vent, "And that one's an idiot…that's the end of the statement"
"Ohh…I feel like this is a precursor to when mine finally shows up," Vent muttered.
"I turned the locator beacon on in his…" Azmuth whispered sinisterly to his Ben, "Moment he appears back in his dimension, he'll pop up like a glaring signal on that Azmuth's system."
"...You think he's still on the planet where you were hiding when I was ten?" Ben asked.
"Eh. I was actually talking myself into going back to Galvan Prime at the time you showed up. Which reminds me…" Azmuth snapped his fingers and the cane whacked Ben upside the head, "That's for causing the SDM Mode to trigger and for continuing to transform when you were told not to and only causing it to accelerate the progress!"
"Aw come on! It was Animo's fault!" Ben argued.
"And how was it his fault?"
"Well, he made the machine that I overloaded…and that's just burying me deeper, huh?"
"You're in the singularity point of a black hole at this point," Azmuth replied.
"I remember that," the other teenager Ben noted, "Overloaded it with Heatblast."
"I used XLR8 and messed with all the knobs I could find connected to it," Ultimatrix Ben admitted.
"I just unlocked Eye Guy," Ben noted.
"Ben, I swear if you don't remind me of that device…" Gwen 10 glowered at her Ben.
"None of that," Gwen whispered, using Mana to cover their mouths before the two could start to argue again.
"...a…are you…sure?" X-Tinction Ben asked as he looked up at Maximillian, "I…I hurt so many people…"
"Well…then you need to make a lot of apologies. Then once you set everything right…we'll find out what to do from there," Maximilian offered, "But…it'll be you and me again. Wherever we go, we'll be together. I'll keep an eye on you and make you a better man by the end of our trip."
"...O-Okay…" X-Tinction Ben nodded, using his arm the wipe the small tears in his eyes, "I'll…I try….for you…grandpa."
"That's all anyone can ask," Maximilian chuckled, patting his shoulder in assurance, "Alright…" he stood up fully, "Better get everyone on the RV. Got a lot of drop offs to do."
"Yes, get them out of here before one of them breaks something," Azmuth ordered, "Especially the short ones…they bother me…"
"Hey…" said 'short ones' complained.
"Good idea," Badluck Ben agreed, "I'd rather not stay here too long and somethin' happens because of it." an alarm went off and everyone looked at him, "I did not do it!"
Kajun sighed as she walked over and pushed the button beside the one Sir Benjamin touched, shutting off the self destruct sequence, "Right. This one on the RV first."
"Seriously?" Ultimatrix Ben snickered.
"What? It was oddly attractive in how it glowed," Sir Benjamin muttered, hiding his face behind his helmet's visor as he blushed.
"And I refuse to meet your version of me for several reasons," Azmuth muttered, looking at Sir Benjamin in annoyance.
"They live in a cave a version of you stranded on Earth retrofitted into a small village with a training arena/gauntlet of death traps…" Ben explained.
"On second thought, this one may be onto something…" Azmuth changed his tune.
"...Hurry and get him out of here before he does something like explain what his Azmuth built," Ben whispered to the others with wide eyes, "Or, worse yet, makes a network of alternate hims to swap shop with and get all of our Azmuths on this train."
"Oh come on. It can't be that bad," Vent noted, "I mean, not like Prairie's gauntlet is…" he couldn't suppress the shudder that went down his spine, "I swear, she learned it from a psychopath in how insane it was."
[I take severe offense to that remark] Model Z stated [What's wrong with setting oil-covered boulders on fire and launching them with cannons aimed at you?]
"No time for your nonsense, Tinman," Detective Benjamin sighed, dragging most of his alternate selves.
"It feels like you're trying to offend…" Vent muttered
"You pick up on things slowly, don't you?" Detective Benjamin smiled.
"Yeah he does!" Ashe laughed nearby…with a few bags.
"What the…?! When did…? How did…? What?!" Ben and Vent gawked, seeing the bags.
"So…funny thing. I practiced with that form I copied, figured out how to switch between the tall blue form and short white one that can duplicate…" Ashe explained, "Plus, this is technically the far past for Vent and me, so no timey-wimey issues there. Plus, there were a lot of things we don't have in our time that were here…like this pickle things. Had one and I think I want some more with some mint chocolate ice cream and ketchup."
"...You turned into Echo-Echo, made a copy and sent it off while you went off to fight," Max noted.
=...Oh gee~ Why does that sound like something Ben would do?= Steel asked, sarcasm heavy in tone.
"Hey, I…Okay, yeah, I've done that before," Ben admitted.
"It's a good way to get some things done if you just have one go off to do it," Detective Benjamin agreed, "Especially when having to deal with paperwork."
[Um…Please don't dissect me, Mr. Azmuth…] Model A begged as he hid behind Ashe [I'm not an Omnitrix; I just copy people Ashe and I fight that are tecno-based]
"Really?" Sari pondered.
[Can everyone hear us here?] Model A asked.
"Not really. The Bens, I get. I'm a Speaker, so I can 'talk' with technology," Sari explained.
[...Right. Z, can I join you in the ocean please?] Model A pleaded [I want things making sense again]
[That…..well…] Model X began [...room for one more?]
"I'll join you guys when we get home," Vent groaned.
"Great! Family dip!" Ashe beamed before Vent yelped as he caught the bags she tossed him, "Now come on! I got me these pickle things to grow!"
"...She does know she needs to pickle cucumbers to get pickles, right?" the younger teen Ben asked.
"Context clues. We don't have pickles in our time," Vent replied as he followed after Ashe towards the hangar where the Rustbucket was.
"No pickles? Do you still have burgers?" the green-shirt kid Ben asked, running after them.
"Yeah. Just no pickles…or…or a lot of certain foods since the produce for them has been wiped out during either the Maverick Wars, the Elf Wars, or the hundred years since the Rebellion of Neo Arcadia."
"Are Oreo's a thing still?"
"Yeah."
"Oh thank everything in the universe!"
"Ready to head on back to our Grandpa?" Gwen 10 asked Ultimatrix Ben.
"Yeah. Can't wait to see if our Grandpa has this at his store when we get back to our Bellwood," he replied as they ran after them.
"..." Ben looked at his Grandpa Max.
"It wasn't in use until you were thirteen when activity first started up with the DNAliens," Grandpa Max replied.
"Ahh…Gotcha."
"Sayonnara, minna," Ban waved.
"Until we meet again!" Sir Benjamin waved…as he was being held over Detective Benjamin's shoulder as he gave a mock salute.
"Really sad I couldn't see more…but I still haven't seen everything in my universe," Badluck Ben grinned as he walked off after them.
"Ta-ta, my fellow Slimebiot! May you annoy the boy for days on end!" Badluck Skurd waved to Skurd, who returned it with a nod and a wave.
"So…it's finally done?" Mai asked cautiously once the other Bens were gone, "No…being thrown into another multiversal adventure by a petty thief or chasing after someone? We can…finally relax at home?"
"No…" Kokonoe paused, "...unless you want to help test a…"
"NO!" everyone who had been on one of those two missions practically roared, knocking her over.
"Mawp…Mawp…Mawp…" Kokonoe mouthed, trying to get the ringing out of her ears, "Okay…fine…" 'It was gonna be a test for multiversal travel, but, eh…their loss. May as well toss it in the 'possibly for later..or not' pile then.'
"Look we're done we can…" Ben began before Azmuth slid down his arm and yanked the Omnitrix off in the process, "Huh?"
"You accumulated a lot of interesting data…you'll get this back in the morning…with upgrades," Azmuth smiled as he jumped and landed on Kokonoe's shoulder, "We might as well get some work done before we head home and focus on our side projects…Also gives us time to find out what happened to that one intern…" he whispered the last part to his assistant.
"Hoo boy…That's a mystery I've been interested in figuring out. They made the best coffee," Kokonoe replied.
"No one seems to be able to make it that good…hmm…" Azmuth nodded, "Well anyway, we will work on this…Ben, consider this a night off. Makoto…he's all yours."
Everyone blinked and only dissipating dust clouds of a waving Makoto and a Ben being yanked off were what was left of the duo. Tsubaki caught the piece of paper that had been falling where Ben had been and shook her head.
"'Off to Mr. Smoothy's,'" she read, an amused smile on her lips.
Z0: *sitting at a table eating poutine with the pig while the RV burns down* Welp…the trip is over…it was fun while it lasted. Oh god did my friends survive? Pig?
GT: *pokes out from under the Pig, covered in soot* That was nuts!
SZ: Very much so….but hoo boy we are done with this arc…and multiversal stuff for this story!
Z0: Well Yes…but also No. 'Cause this fic has a Side story companion.
SZ: Very true. Still we hope you all enjoyed this arc. But before you go 'but what about Alien X vs X-Tinction so Ben can gain control of Alien-X?' Don't worry…we got plans for Alien-X…
GT: True. Originally, that was the plan, but then we found a rather interesting bit of trivia from the people who made Ben 10: Anodites apparently know a spell that can negate the powers of Celestialsapiens and Celestialsapiens and their powers don't work right on mana/magic.
SZ: Eeyup, so we changed things up a bit…and introduced a character we haven't seen since ultimate Alien…*pushes away the Omniverse design for Verdona*not that one…
GT: Oddly…she was supposed to appear in that one weird episode with all the females Ben knew, but her design didn't reach the animators in time.
Z0: *still eating while scratching the pigs ears* That…was an…episode…full disclosure we're not doing that…
SZ: Oh god no.
GT: Oh heavens no, we are not going near that one! Not even referencing it ever happening, either!
Z0: *slaps Pig making it spit a paint bomb in GT's face* Would you believe it's my job to be the reasonable one when they get emotional? Anyway believe it or not readers…we are…kinda close to the major final arcs of this story. No…I'm not joking…we actually are that close to the end of the main plot points we have set up and planned. I mean this is chapter 90…this fic has gotten a lot bigger then we intended. For better, for worse…we don't know we just have fun and if it sticks it sticks. So if you've stuck with us…then just know, yeah we are close to the REAL big game stuff.
GT: Oh yeah. But first…we'll give the kids a reprieve next arc and let them all relax and…*starts laughing hard* Oh! Oh…I couldn't finish saying it with a straight face. It'll be relaxing in comparison to recent arcs, but it's still gonna be crazy in its own unique way!
Z0: Also I need to finally get to a minor plot I've wanted to do for a long while *walks off into an animal shop before returning with a dog crate*
GT: Oh, you guys are gonna love what comes next. Oh, and before anyone else asks: Mai in Dimension R-63 was too easy a joke that we refused to do it because of the easy joke.
Z0: Also some of these worlds…we honestly put way more thought into then we needed to. Like…no lie we might legit have entire lore and story arcs behind some of them. If ever explored…it will be purely in Side Story.
GT: Yeah…We're not crazy enough to add more work with actual fics based on the worlds. Though, if fans are up for it, I personally welcome your attempts. Not sure about the others.
Z0: Meh personally I think most of the ones I made were just prototypes of fic I never actually did. Look at GT…he wasn't even subtle with it…his straight up was a crossover.
SZ: Oh no yeah. It was totally a crossover.
GT: I blame playing so much of the Megaman Zero/ZX Legacy Collection in preparation for the Megaman Battle Network Legacy Collection and binge watching the whole Ben 10 franchise.
Z0: The Pig has your Switch…*Pig waddles off with GT's Nintendo Switch*
GT: AH! No! Get back here, Pig! I'm still playing through Grey's story while playing Ashe's on Casual! *runs after it*
Z0: Well folks…we'll see you next chapter. And be sure to know, we are getting close to our version of Endgame. So enjoy it, but after this we will go back to the DOZENS of other stories we really want to do. So Read, Review, and thanks for sticking with us.
