"Are you done hiding from me yet?"
He looked at Jenrya, strands of white hair partially blocking his view. He sat on the couch, legs curled up under him. His fingers expertly gripped the sleeves of his shirt. His D-Terminal sat forgotten on the table in front of him, blinking to notify him of unanswered messages.
Jenrya stood off to the sides, arms folded, and eyes glaring at him. He easily thought of the many times he'd goad Jenrya into anger and frustration. Times like then, to Albedo, his eyes took on more of a cold steel hue than an elegant silver.
"Actually, yes." He responded, voice smooth and casual. He lowered his eyes, and resumed looking at nothing in particular in front of him, as he had been doing before his assigned guard for the day had let Jenrya in.
"Good." The male huffed and sat next to him. "I should ask what you were up to, but you wouldn't tell me anyway."
"Kind of like how you would run off to Hypnos, hm? Funny how that works." He wasn't particularly annoyed with Jenrya doing that, but it served as a nice deflection. Jenrya couldn't well know that he thought the male was purposely setting up events in his life in his favor, as annoying as he found it.
"That's not the same thing. I tell you when I'm off to Hypnos. I don't tell you I'm going to bed, and then run off to Hypnos."
He held in a smirk. "I actually hadn't meant to stay away as long as I did that day."
"Not. Helping."
He glanced at Jenrya. The male pouted so sweetly. Even in this disgusting form, Jenrya chose him. It confused him greatly. Then again, he did not expect to like a human as much as he preferred Jenrya. He leaned over and stole a chaste kiss. He'd take as much of it in as he could before Jenrya realized the monster Tennyson and his mentor insisted he become.
"You butt."
He could hear the laugh and surprise in the male's voice. "Ah, but you like this butt." He looked off to the side. "More than Trang, I presume."
Just moments after speaking, he wondered where his brain to mouth filter ran off to. Then again, Jenrya always told him he didn't have much, what was it called? Ah, tact. He held in a shrug.
"Of course more than Trang." The male spoke softly.
"I should believe so." He tapped his fingers against the edge of his shirt sleeve.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have-"
"I'm not even concerned why you went, actually." He rested his head on his knees. "I would prefer if you stopped punishing yourself, I think." He looked at Jenrya.
The male looked back at him wide-eyed. "Because you don't?"
"First deflection is mine, so we stay on my topic."
"How does that even-?" Jenrya shook his head and sighed, "Whatever. I wanted to see if Juggernaut was in him. Like how my dad and the others wanted to check for you."
"You couldn't just ask?"
"Because of how Juggernaut has evolved to spread, it's private information. So no, I couldn't just ask. Besides, it's Trang. He'd rub it in my face, and turn it into some nonsense about how I still secretly want to be with him. Probably would say shit about how a good bitch knows their master. Ugh." Jenrya shuddered.
Albedo closed his eyes. His Jenrya was so illogical sometimes. "I meant ask Juggernaut." It would be more cute if it didn't mean he kept performing tasks the extremely hard way. Didn't he know you only take the extremely hard way if it's the only path that truly makes sense to follow? Otherwise you were just wasting time and resources.
He nearly failed at holding in a groan of disgust. He almost sounded like his foolish mentor for a bit there. Too close for his brain cells in his opinion.
A long silence filled the air. Albedo tapped his fingers on his knees. The apartment felt as though it were getting colder as the day went on. He debated on taking the silence as an opportunity to grab another shirt or sweater. He thought of doing such earlier, but never got off the couch to do so. For some reason he couldn't comprehend, even now, his mind had concluded that there hadn't been much point of doing so then.
"Shut up." Jenrya spoke after a few moments.
"I did not say anything."
Jenrya huffed again. He felt the male rest on his shoulder, leaning against his side.
He pulled at his shirt sleeves, occasionally stroking the fabric with his thumbs. He smiled even as he wondered how appealing Jenrya found him now, and how long he would continue to be appealing for. He knew Tennyson and his ilk wouldn't allow such for long, but he hoped it was at least a satisfactory length of time.
A shame he did not want to place a numerical value on that length. He didn't think it fair they were forcing him to either.
