Fate into Shadows

Chapter 5

Cullen

I sighed as I finally reached my truck at the end of the school day. I opened the door with a groan, as I realised, I was forgetting something. I looked around the parking lot looking for Alice before spotting her with her siblings by a shiny silver Volvo. Now that's a proper car, even if it is the sort of thing, I would expect a grandparent to drive. Well, they were immortal, so no telling how old they really were.

I quickly closed my door and headed over towards them, having almost forgotten to arrange a time for Alice to come over. Though, it didn't matter much as I was sure she would be able to find me. As I approached, I saw the blonde boy Jasper watching me cautiously, and his 'twin' scowling angrily at me. Though, I just smiled, at least Edward, Alice and Emmett returned my smile.

"Alice, I almost forgot to ask what time you'll be over," I asked as I stopped by them. "Or I could come to yours if you want. I'm not fussed either way, and I'm kind of curious to see a spooky castle," I said.

"We don't live in a spooky castle," Emmett said between chuckles. "None of the others ever take my suggestions seriously."

Alice rolled her eyes at both of us, "er, yeah, we don't do, stereotypes, sorry, but, well you can come over if you want? It might make Jasper relax a bit."

I looked over at Jasper curiously. "I'm not the one with strange eating habits you know," I said with a straight face. I found myself surprise he actually smiled. Though, it was very small. He still held his cautious look. "Well, anyway Alice, I'll see you in about an hour or so then, okay?" I asked hopefully.

"Sure, see you soon," she replied excitedly as I stole a kiss before I headed back to my truck, not even bothering to ask directions. I would find the place no problem.

It was around an hour and twenty minutes later when I found myself once again surprise when I found the Cullen's place. I had half expected to still find a huge and creepy castle, or at the very least a huge creepy mansion. However, although it was indeed a mansion, it was quite the opposite from creepy. Airy and light, the perfect modern home with huge window wall at the front. Damn they must be swimming in cash. I guess that was immortality for you. Loads of time to collect the wealth.

I stood on the branch of a tree overlooking their driveway, and the front of their house. The Volvo was parked out front with a red BMW and a black Mercedes, and they had a huge looking garage that I figured they stashed away other cars, and maybe a bike or two.

I could see some people, or vampires through the large windows. I smiled as I spotted Alice pacing a hole in the living room carpet expecting my arrival. Wow was that ever cute, and it was amusing as Hana-chan was like that too, being so restless and full of energy.

I had changed my clothes since going home, into something a bit nicer that I hope Alice would approve of, though with the entrance I planned, I'm sure it'll take her awhile to notice. I now wore a short red and black plaid skirt that hung only quarter way down my thighs. Plus, a black tee shirt, that hugged my body perfectly and a smaller, less bulky pair of trainer-like boots with shin high red and black soaks. My hair was tied back except some strands down the sides of my head, plaited over my right shoulder.

I held in my snicker as I watched them for a moment more. Darn, I can't wait to be closer to Alice again. I guess I'm just a lovey-dovey sap at heart. Was that pathetic? Nah, it can't be. I'm too cool. I smirked, as I channelled energy into my senses to heighten them further, and listen in to the goings on in the house.

"Alice, stop that pacing," growled Edward in annoyance from where he sat on a chair reading a magazine, as he awaited their guest, me. Though, he seemed a bit fidgety himself. "You've waited this long, you can wait a little longer, you're driving me crazy."

"B-but I can't," she replied in frustration. "She's the one. I just know it. And it's driving me crazier." She just ignored her siblings laughing at her, but was thankful her 'parents' gave her sympathetic looks. In truth, her 'mother' looked like she couldn't wait either. "I could just feel it from the moment I first lay eyes on her, she knew it too, I think that maybe..."

"Yeah-yeah," Edward interrupted while rolling his eyes as they were all golden now, so I suspected they had hurried off to feed, once home. "We all know how it goes," he retorted with a roll of his eyes. "Just sit down and wait. She'll be here soon."

"Uh-huh, you could sit on my lap?" I suddenly spoke in amusement.

They all started and spun to see me sitting on the empty two seat(er) sofa, behind Alice with my arms open in invitation for the pixy. They all just stared at me with their mouths hanging open in shock. I frowned, wondering whether one of them would speak any time soon. Fortunately, one did.

"H-how the hell did you sneak in here?" It was Emmet that voiced everyone else's thoughts. "And how come until now I couldn't smell you?"

I chuckled at his bewildered expression as I let my arms fall to my lap. "Well. I could just say magic, but that's not actually true," I answer amusedly. "You're just not as observant as you think. You left the front door unlocked and I walked in, and allowed the shadows to obscure my presence."

Emmett snorted while the others just continued gawking. "What? You supposed to be a ninja or something?" he asked with some laughter. Damn, he had no idea. "The Saviour or whatever, is a flipping ninja?"

I laughed but nodded my head in agreement anyway. "Exactly. I'm a ninja and used my ninja powers to sneak in without you detecting me," I smiled as he held a shocked look again. Damn, they're vampires but mention real ninja and ninja powers, and they're stumped into silence, and at least two of them have psychic powers.

"Real magical chi or whatever… ninja don't exist," said Edward suddenly breaking out of his shock, the others too blinking away their surprise. I just rolled my eyes.

"Oh yeah," I asked in amusement as I hopped up from my chair smirking as I looked at him. "Neither do vampires," I retorted shutting him up with my solid reasoning skills.

Alice giggled in loving delight, as she bounced closer to me. "This is so cool. I had always wondered since seeing you… a real ninja. I bet you can do all sorts of super awesome stuff, right?" she asked hopefully.

"Of course, I can," I agreed, smiling.

"Well that does kind of explain the abnormal strength during volleyball," Edward conceded, obviously thinking it over after my reasoning. "And the amazing fighting skill in Alice's visions."

Alice smirked as she took my hands and pulled me over to the oldest looking two vampires. "Well, Bella this is my fake mum and dad, Carlisle, and Esme, but I love them like they were my real parents. Mum, Dad, this is, Isabella Swan, the reincarnation of The Saviour, Saya Mikimoto… or should I reverse that because its Japanese?"

"Makiyoko Saya," I quickly corrected. "Or the Western way, Saya Makiyoko."

"The books I read got half her name wrong," Edward muttered in annoyance while Alice pouted in embarrassment before glaring at her brother for failing her as she was likely trying to impress me, which I found adorable.

The woman with caramel coloured hair came forward with a motherly smile. "Well, it's nice to meet you Bella, dear," she said sweetly and cautiously and kindly gave me a small hug, which I returned; after all, it was only polite. Plus, I have always wished my mother were more like this. So gentle, warm, and well motherly. Even though her touch was icy cold, her emotions were warm.

"In deed, it is a pleasure," agreed the man with slicked back blonde hair as he offered his hand, which I gladly shook. "This is most intriguing. I had never imagined such things were real. I hope that maybe I could ask a few questions, as it appears that vampires have become quite… left out of our past, and ignored by other races if they're still around?"

"Sure," I reply with a shrug. "And, most vampires, are well vampires, so not the friendliest bunch, but if you have questions, go right ahead."

"Well, I know of a few other supernatural beings that are real," he began with an intrigued smile. "Such as lykan, and tribal shifters, and now ninja. Please, I would love to know of others?"

I looked at him in surprise. "Well, yeah. I'm not sure if some haven't gone extinct or something though," I said with a nod of agreement. "Okay, we have ghosts." They looked at me in surprise and bewilderment. "Nature Spirits, Nymphs, Fairies, Pixies, Dragons, Brood, which are like dragons, or like humans that take dragon form, or the other-way around, Dragonkin, as I know you wouldn't know, as they're better at keeping their secrets. Then we have, Daemons, Gods, Witches, Wizards, Mage, Mystics, Sprites, Goblins, Trolls, Giants…" I paused thoughtfully. "Um, well it's a pretty long list actually. That's only the watered-down version of the more well known, and I have discovered that a few magical cities still herald mythical beings, hidden from the 'mortal' world."

I looked up from counting them off on my fingers to see them staring at me strangely before Carlisle spoke. "All of them actually exist?" he asked and I just nodded. "How could you possibly know for certain?"

I shrugged, frowning. "I don't know that half of them haven't gone extinct. However, the reason I know is because, as Alice probably told you, I am the reincarnation of a kunoichi that lived two and a half thousand years ago, and I, I mean, she has seen most of the important ones at least, as they had no reason to hide back then. I remember my previous life, as if I had never died, but, still, remembering how you died when that wasn't very peaceful, can be rather disturbing, as some of you could probably attest too."

"Yes, a few of us unfortunately can," Carlisle began with a sad smile, and I couldn't help but notice his eyes flickered especially to Rosalie, and I wasn't sure I wanted to know how she died. "But the prospect of actual reincarnation, is certainly an interesting one, to discover this can happen," he added thoughtfully. Though, he had this look of wonder in his eyes, no doubt curious about what had never bothered him and his family before, and if what I now know of the magic in the world, they tried scrubbing themselves from the world, hiding in their cities, towns, and other settlements, but some, those who could mix in with the normal humans did, hiding in plain sight.

"So, my soul could have come back?" asked Edward suddenly in surprise interrupting us, and surprisingly not as opposed to the whole ninja thing any more. Though, I could prove it further if he wished, and I was a little disappointed that they hadn't asked yet, as I really wanted to show off a little.

I stared at him in bewilderment. How could he honestly believe that? "You have a soul, idiot," I told him in amusement. He just looked at me in doubt. I sighed and elaborated. "The vampiric virus is not magical in nature. Well, not the way you think. It's more of a magical virus… apparently some idiot alchemists, a few thousand years ago wanted to give themselves demonic super-powers, to be blunt about it. Instead, it mutated them, some became vampires, beautiful predators, and some became lykan, rather adorable until they change their forms, and its rather disturbing. You guys probably got the better end of… well, no, they can control themselves while in human form, so, I guess you both have issues. Technically, you aren't actually dead. The vampiric virus suspends physical change, and enhances your potential. The reason some of you have powers, is because you already had those powers while human. They're referred to as a Semblance, and are a gateway towards magic. Oh, and back on point, it doesn't take your soul because you are not actually dead."

They all looked at me as if I had grown another head. "But our hearts have stopped beating," commented Alice frowning in thought as she placed her hand sadly over her chest. My heart pounded painfully at her expression.

However, I rolled my eyes and smiled kindly at her. "In deed, because you are no longer human. Your species doesn't need a heartbeat to pump blood, which is why you drink it from humans or animals as a substitute, and the doctor should know that it feeds through pours down your digestive tract, starting with your throats," I said and he nodded. "It's why your digestive system to process food no longer functions, because your body wants to pass it into your veins. And you don't need to breathe. It's like your appendix, or tonsils. Although humans have them, they're not accentual, just… something's haven't evolved out of us, yet. In other words, we can live without them. Love and emotions come from the soul, not the heart, processed by our conscious and unconscious minds. They will stay with us for all of eternity," I said smiling as my eyes flickered to Alice and she brightened.

"So, we really do have souls?" asked Emmett, smirking at Edward as I nodded with a smile, glad I could clear that up for them. "See, we were right and you were wrong," he gloated and I felt like groaning.

"But that can't be true, I've killed people," said Edward trying to defend his point. "I-I have to be a soulless monster."

I sighed and was thankful when Jasper slapped him upside the head. "Thank you, Jasper, I needed to see that," I said smiling as Edward rubbed his head, pouting as it was just a playful tap really. "Humans kill humans all of the time. It's just the way things are. I guess life kinda sucks sometimes, but you have to make the best of who you are. If you choose to not eat humans, all the better for them, but it doesn't make you a monster to kill any. Killing other creatures because you take pleasure in it makes you a monster whether you are human, vampire, daemon, god, or shinobi. I believe it's our choices that make us who we are… not what we are."

"Plagiarist," muttered Jasper suddenly. I glared at him and he smirked as everyone looked at him. "She stole that last line from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets."

I chuckled nervously. "Jerk, I was on a roll," I muttered before shrugging as the vampires laughed, including Edward. "Well, anyway. What do you guys eat, is it what makes your eyes gold rather than red, as I heard rumours, and figured animals, but never saw one like you guys myself?"

"Oh, I can't believe we haven't told you yet," chimed Alice happily. "Yeah, our eyes are gold because we eat animals. Well, drink their blood. So wanna take the grand tour?" she asked hopefully grabbing my hand to lead the way, and sneakily threading her fingers with mine.

"Sure thing," I answered with a smile as she dragged me along.

"Wait, did she say, gods, as in plural?" Emmett asked while the others shrugged, and went about their business, while Alice and I shared a look and laughed.

"Well first this is Edward's piano. He can be quite depressing sometimes with the sad songs he plays…" she began as we stopped by the stairs where a large white grand piano stood.

"Am not!" he interrupted, yelling from the lounge area.

I found myself giggling as Alice began leading me up the stairs, showing me their multitude of high school and college graduation caps.

"Have you ever thought of living in the UK, or, I don't know, 'home-schooling'?" I asked, and she paused, and I could sense the whole house pausing. "So, the answer to that is no, and some of you are now questioning your intelligence."

"Home-schooling?" a beautiful blonde stepped out of a door that probably led to the garage. "Why are we continually going to school to keep cover when we could just register as being home-schooled, and our flipping dad is a doctor, no one would even question it?"

"Because it helps your control to be around humans, Rosalie," Esme quickly said, and gave her a cool look as she looked like she was about to retort but returned to the garage like a teen in a huff.

I looked at Alice and she shrugged. "Come on, lets finish the tour," she said, as she gestured to everybody's bedrooms before leading me into hers. I looked at her suspiciously but she left the door open, so I let the fact her tour was speedy and led to her bedroom go.

It was then I took a good look around the room. The walls, a creamy silver colour. She had plenty of draws and a cupboard like any normal girl, with a stereo system, large flat panel TV on the wall opposite a huge bed. The bed had black and lilac sheets and loads of pillows, with some cuddly toys. Very girly. Next to her TV and stereo, she had what could be hundreds of Blu-ray cases, games and films, PlayStation's, and a few different Nintendo's, and even a few older Sega's, and I noticed that her older games were all neat and well looked after in a shelving unit, as I bet some of them were likely on the dearer side of the games market, and many of them were in jewelled cases, so much more fragile than today's plastic. Then my eyes turned to her desk with a racing seat type chair times two, one in black and white, and the other pink and white, and on the desk was an open, and unlocked gaming laptop, and in the desk was a proper gaming PC, also unlocked with three huge monitors connected, one was even Ultra-Widescreen and curved, and while the laptop was rather bare on icons, (though, I did notice that it had some kind of Linux OS rather than the Windows the PC ran); the monitors were covered with countless game icons that made me raise an eyebrow.

"I'm immortal, and don't… well, can't sleep, so I have plenty of time," she said sheepishly. "And, I may be a little bit of a computer enthusiast in my spare time, and Linux Arch is more… versatile than Windows, so I play about a bit, but mostly I use it in visions when I'm stuck in a game, to watch walk-throughs."

"Aren't vampire's super intelligent, too?" I asked and she nodded eagerly. "So, you have forever, you like humans; probably have some pretty neat computer skills, and you waste forever, when you could do amazing things?"

"Err…" Alice paused, but I did hear Emmett laughing, and Rosalie calling him an idiot, but muttering that she had invented a few things she had in the garage in a thoughtful tone, probably having never thought about selling her ideas before.

"Rose tinkers with cars?" I asked, startling Alice. "I thought you were the tinker?"

"Alice only likes driving them," Rose said coolly.

"Do you do, bikes?" I asked hopefully. "I had to leave my bike back home in Phoenix. I'm self-taught on maintenance, so I'm probably not the best with engines, and my bikes only a 125, so nothing amazing, but I loved riding her anyway."

"She has an old Harley down there, she works on," Alice interrupted, "she won't even let Emmett have a ride on it, and he's, her husband."

"Yeah, never going to let you ride my baby, Ninja-girl," Rosalie agreed. "Why don't you get a Kawasaki Ninja… I think they do it in matte grey?" she asked laughingly.

I groaned as I probably walked into that. "The jokes on you," I replied. "I had actually thought about it, and it's actually metallic matte graphenesteel grey," I said to some chuckling through the house, and Alice smiled widely at me.

"So, grey with a fancy name," Rosalie argued.

"Well, anyway," Alice quickly interrupted, "what do you think?" she asked impatiently as she bounced in front of me, gesturing the room, and looked adorably like she was pretending she hadn't wasted decades on games and fashion when she could have been doing other things too.

I smiled widely at her. "It's great," I answered.

A wide grin spread across her lips. "I knew you'd say that."

I raised an eyebrow at that in thought. "So, you know everything I'll do and say, because Hana-chan said I was too annoyingly indecisive?" I asked in interest.

Alice shook her head, "no, she was correct, you're rather difficult to read. It's frustrating," she said with a smile. "… you loved this girl, back then?"

I shrugged with a sigh. "That was over twenty-five hundred years ago, Alice… I… I mean, Saya screwed up. I'm not going to waste my new life like that, dying alone, and scared, full of regret."

Suddenly I had Alice's small body in my arms, and she cuddled into me, and I held her within a moment.

"Don't be too sad, Alice," I cooed. "I got a second chance… sure I have a prophecy over my head with some evil something or other happening, but, all good things must have a catch somewhere, or they wouldn't be that good, would they?"

"Yeah," she replied gently before pulling back and looking thoughtful. "But that doesn't explain how you can block Edward from reading your mind? Is that your semblance?" she asked eagerly. "It's been driving the poor guy crazy not being able to read someone else's thoughts."

I laughed, "I'm not a mage," I told her, amused. "And I have no real magical talents, but I can use my ki or chakra or chi, or whatever you would like to call it to create a layer of spiritual security around my mind, like a cloak that spreads out around me protectively… I'm actually a natural at it. Though, I figured that Edward was a mind reader in the cafeteria…"

"Wow, how'd you figure that one out?" she asked in surprise.

I smirked smugly thinking about it. "The extremely frustrated look he keeps getting on his face as he concentrates on me, like he's not sure whether he can take a dump in the hall in front of every one or not."

"Yeah, well that's just him," she agreed in amusement while we heard Emmett laughing uproariously. "Take away his favourite toy and he'll cry for weeks, and poop on everything," she said causing us to giggle, Emmett to laugh harder, and even Jasper and Rosalie to be caught laughing.

"Hey, I 'CAN' hear you both, you know," interrupted Edward suddenly with a growl as he stood by the open door.

We looked around and giggled more at his amusing annoyed expression. "Well stop trying so hard," I said smirking before looking back at Alice for a moment, giggling again, before returning attention to him.

Edward frowned for a moment before his eyes widened in both shock and horror. "Y-you can shield other people from me?" he asked, startled with a hint of annoyance and despair.

"Psychic's need to learn their manners," I answered while Alice giggled in joy.

He scowled before letting out a sigh and stalking off to where Jasper waited for him in the hall with a smirk on his lips before they both left us alone.

"So how do you shield from mental attacks anyway?" asked my pixy-like vampire in curiosity.

"I use my Spiritual Energy in the cloak of ki to crate layered barriers around my mind," I answer again with a shrug. It was quite simple actually. "I was born gifted in the art of defence… well, Saya was too. Maybe Destiny doesn't want to be a complete bitch. I… I mean Saya leant that I could also project barriers that could shield others within a few hundred meters. Though, I can also imprint a barrier on a few people at a time to constantly shield them like I've just done with you."

Alice blinked owlishly in surprise at my answer before a huge grin spread to her lips. "So, Edward won't be able to read my mind ever again?" she asked in awe as I nodded in agreement, amused at how pleased that made her. She giggled.

We grinned at each other as we heard Edward growl and said I'm not a nice girl. Though, he used language that was more colourful. And then Esme was telling him off for his un-gentlemanly behaviour."

"Arigatou," I called with a smile, directing my words to Esme.

Alice started however and looked at me in surprise.

"You're welcome," the woman replied.

"That wasn't English, I don't think?" Alice asked. "It was Japanese, right? Saya was Japanese, but, uh, it's not my speciality… I've gotten into anime the last few years, and watch subbed, and pick things up pretty fast?"

I frowned in surprise. "Uh, sorry. I meant Thanks. It just sometimes happens. It's difficult sometimes, as my first language is both Japanese and English. I had a major freak out for an a short while once I remembered my past as I couldn't speak English for a short while, luckily it was the weekend, and I couldn't even write in anything other than kanji, and my dialect is a little on the unused side these days, but the language hasn't changed much since my previous life, unlike others. I sometimes accidentally speak Japanese, especially when feeling comfortable. It's kind of odd that Japanese tries to come off as my first-first language sometimes, I suppose."

Alice smiled. "That's pretty cool just waking up and knowing a new language."

"Not when you're trying to do your homework it isn't," I retorted with a pout. Alice giggled at my predicament but took my hands comfortingly, kissing my fingers sweetly. "Well, anyway. I should probably head home now. It's getting late and I still need to go online and get some food delivered, or I'll die of hunger. And that will take a while with the silly dial up my dad foolishly got when I asked for internet access, and I'll probably end up tethering to my phone, as I weirdly get pretty great reception out here. I'll have to arrange some broadband though." I sighed in exasperation.

"Well, why not go to the shop on the way home," Alice asked eagerly. "Since you don't know where to find it, and haven't brought that ugly rust bucket truck I'll take you. I've passed it often enough."

"Really?" I asked hopefully. She nodded. "Well okay. But I won't be driving that monstrosity for much longer, as it's just a loan from an old friend, as I guess he's using it for practice with mechanics and whatnot. I plan on heading to Seattle on Saturday to buy a new car. I was considering buying a new bike too, but that's more important than a car, so I can take my time, but it needs to have speed, and not feel like it's going to fall apart, maybe I'll get something of an all-rounder."

Alice laughed as she led me by the hand from her room through the house. "Yeah… I can run hundreds of times faster than that thing you're driving."

"Me too," I agreed surprising her. Hopefully she'll stop being surprised sometime soon. "Though, I can't run forever like you. I'm still human after all."

"Barely!" I just about heard Edward muttering under his breath from a nearby room, laughing at me.

Alice and I laughed as we headed downstairs. "Well, how about on Saturday I take you to Seattle?" the pixy vampire asked. "We could, you know… make it a date?" she asked hopefully.

I smiled widely at her and nodded my agreement. She squealed in delight only enticing a wider grin from me. "Sure thing. But don't forget I actually need to eat human food, so you're buying, since you asked me out."

"Of course, she is," interrupted Esme from where she stood by the front door with a motherly smile that enticed warmth. Wow, she's like the perfect mother. "It's been a pleasure meeting you, Bella. And I hope to see you again soon."

"Sure thing," I agreed smiling, unable to wait. I really wanted to get to know all of them. Even Rosalie, as I would ride her bike someday, as that would be a secret mission, and the trophy roadmap only has one condition, and that's to do so with her permission.

"Indeed," said Carlisle from behind. I turned to look behind at him and smiled. "I look forward to discovering a little more about you. I find the whole thing fascinating. I find myself curious about these myths that may be just as real as ours."

I nod with a smile. He nodded as Alice pulled me from the house.

"Bye," I called, hearing a few byes in return as Alice led me to the garage.

My mouth dropped open in shock to see not only a bulky black Jeep that I would expect Emmett to buy, but a deep green Aston Martin and a small cannery yellow Porsche 911 turbo, and the bike, I eyed while Rosalie glared at me in a dare, so I quickly turned from her as she was opening the garage door with a remote.

I groaned. "Don't tell me, the Porsche is yours?" I asked in exasperation.

She pouted at me before looking to the car. "What's wrong with my car?" she asked, sounding hurt.

"Oh nothing," I replied shaking my free hand in defence. I don't want to upset her, but that kind of sports car isn't really my thing. "It suits you, but I'm more of a Ferrari kind of girl when it comes to sports cars. I always find Porsche a little girly," I said, and ignored Rosalie's snort of humour.

"I am a girl," she replied all pouty before she seemed to brighten. "So, you want a Ferrari?" she asked me in surprise, and I nodded with a shrug.

"Well, sure would be nice," I said with a dreamy sigh, "But I would murder an army of demons for a Bugatti Chiron!"

"Wouldn't we all," Rosalie startled me as she had a dreamy look too.

Alice smiled. "Well, I'll put one in your stocking for Christmas then," she said in amusement.

"You would never get hold of one," Rosalie quickly said, rolling her eyes.

Alice pouted while I smiled and nodded in agreement. "Then how about a Ferrari Eight Twelve?"

I paled a little at the thought and frowned, as I knew she might actually be able to get one of them. "If you're serious and can see the future you'll know how I'll respond to that, as I'm not as fickle on things like that."

She sighed and rolled her eyes. "You'll be against me ever spending that much money buying you, something as frivolous as a super car, and tell me that it's not really the rural kind of vehicle anyone should be driving around here anyway, and no, I won't offer to buy you a new bike either. Honestly, Bella, I can see the future. The stock markets are at my whim. Heck I've even won the lottery three times."

My eyes widened and I snorted in laughter. "Well, it doesn't seem that bad now I know you cheat."

She smirked as she unlocked the car and held open the passenger side, and I slid in. She was climbing into the driver side just as my door closed. "See, a shiny red Ferrari would suit you perfectly… or I could get you a Kawasaki Ninja… maybe something on the 650 side of life?" she continued, obviously using 'vision power' to see the 'options', as she started her car and pulled out of the garage just as I buckled my seat belt. At least this thing was fast, not that I wanted my alone time with Alice to ever end, but I liked speed.

I just shook my head in amusement. "Although, I would love the car or bike no doubt. Firstly, although you've been cheating, it's still too much, the car, a million-times especially. Secondly, my father wouldn't be too happy with me for having such a fast and dangerous car… and he doesn't like that I have a motorcycle license as is. And last, what would people think? I may not care if they know whether I'm gay or not, but they'll be a nightmare if they found out you bought me a freaking vehicle, let alone a Ferrari."

Alice sighed with a roll of her eyes. "Okay, okay, you've made your point. So, what kind of car can you afford anyway?"

I frowned in thought about that for a moment before replying. "Well, I'm not really sure. I'm not that great when it comes to cars… bikes, I know much more about, and I have a fair bit of money I may or may not have confiscated from supernatural criminals, but I planned on just using my inheritance for my car. So, I don't really know how much they cost, and haven't done much research. I have just under forty grand inheritances from my grandparents, so I should be able to buy a nice one, insure and tax it and still have money to spare, right, as I know cars tend to be more expensive than bikes?"

Alice looked at me in surprise. "Well, I didn't expect you to have such a high budget. You're full of surprises," she replied, smiling. "Well, you could get a pretty nice car with that. Well, I suppose any car is nice compared to the rust bucket." We laughed in agreement.

"I totally agree with that," I spoke the truth. "So, whose is the Aston? Edward's?" I asked in amusement. Alice nodded with a smirk. "It figures he's a James Bond wannabee." We laughed again, as it was so easy to play and joke with her.

"You're an extremely odd human, you know that?" she asked me suddenly in amusement.

I nodded my agreement. "I have been told. But what about me do you find odd?" I asked her in curiosity.

Alice looked thoughtful for a moment before replying. "Well for starters you're not afraid of vampires. You know all about a previous life. And you're the only supernatural human I've ever met," she commented honestly.

I laughed at that. "Well, I can't very well be afraid of someone as adorable as you, can I?" I asked in amusement and she shook her head in agreement with a smirk on her lips. "And as for supernatural humans. Maybe you have, but they just ignored you, not wanting to involve themselves with some odd ball animal drinking vampires."

She laughed in return. "You have a point there. But we kinda call ourselves vegetarians. It's kind of a silly joke between us odd ball vampires." I laughed at that. I bet other vampires think them stupid just as meat-eating humans can't understand why some humans don't eat meat. "So, Bella what exactly can you do apart from messing with what we see?" she asked curiously.

"Hmm, well," I began thoughtfully. "I can augment my strength. Walk on water. Walk up walls, and create illusions. Though, I'm sure, you could easily see through that last one, plus more, like blasting stuff and fireballs and all that. To tell you the truth most of the legends on real ninja… I mean fantasy ninja are quite accurate."

Alice nodded with a smile. "So, it's kind of like magic?" she asked in wonder.

I shrugged in thought. "I guess you could say it is. Though, there are only three types of magicians that I know of. The first are born with a magical core that often times acts out under stress or strong emotions. They are the more common breed, and are commonly referred to as Wizards, Warlocks, and Witches. Next, we have those that commune with the magic around them. They're empathic to all of the magical energies around them and can control it, but have very little magic themselves. Though, that doesn't mean they're weak because they're far from it. They're commonly called Mystics or Mage, and they… you… had the potential to be one. And last, we have sorcerers that are born with a magical matrix similar to the way spiritual energies works. Whereas, the first two can do all sorts of things like conjure and curse, though both in different ways, the last can't. Their magic is primarily based on runes and seals, based on language and words, so be extra wary of them, and they can very destructive in nature, harnessing magical energies as a weapon like I harness spiritual energies as a weapon. But of course, in different ways. They mostly call themselves magicians or sorcerers."

Alice looked over at me in awe before speaking. "So how would you detect one of them if you wanted too?" she asked in curiosity, obviously a little concerned.

I shrugged in thought. "I could sense one if they used their magic nearby," I answered reasonably. "But even if there is. I'm sure they would have detected my power by now and are taking precautions to keep their magical use to a minimum while I'm nearby. Well, that is if they realise what I am."

"Well, that's pretty neat that there might be other mythical people in town," she replied reasonably with a smile. "But wouldn't that mean that others may know me and my family are vampires?"

"Possibly," I replied with a shrug. "But if they haven't bothered you now, I doubt they will. Plus, they probably know you only eat animals so would be cautious, but not consider you much of a threat."

Alice nodded with a smile, as she looked me up and down in appreciation. "Uh-huh. By the way you look super-hot in that outfit," she commented proving everything else got in the way. "But we'll have to go shopping Saturday after we find you a new car." I groaned and she laughed. "I knew you would complain. But I also know you'll agree. I am psychic after all."

We laughed together as she continued driving towards the super market at illegal speeds in her little yellow car.
